Nevins
Dental
Center
is
fantastic!
I
needed
several
procedures
and
spent
a
long
time
researching
periodontists.
I'm
so
glad
I
chose
Nevins
Dental!
The
details:
1.
Dr.
Marc
Nevins
performed
a
soft
tissue
grafting
procedure
on
both
sides
of
my
mouth,
using
micro-surgical
techniques,
with
Veronica
Moran
assisting.
The
surgical
process
and
outcome
were
simply
superlative.
I
was
comfortable
the
whole
time.
This
intricate
procedure
was
so
beautifully
organized,
they
were
able
to
complete
it
in
just
a
few
hours.
(I
really
marveled
at
this
later.)
Recovery
was
easy
and
pain-free.
I
didn't
have
to
take
pain
medication,
including
over-the-counter.
This
procedure
is
invaluable
for
my
oral
health
and
will
help
keep
my
gums
and
teeth
healthy.
2.
Two
of
my
central
incisors
were
very
small
and
one
was
"dead"
from
a
past
injury.
I
needed
to
get
them
crowned
to
stabilize
them.
Dr.
Julie
Mitchell
performed
this
procedure,
with
Salma
Melendez
assisting
to
remove
them
and
create
temporary
crowns,
and
Natalia
Medina
assisting
to
implant
the
permanent
crowns.
Each
procedure
was
smooth
and
easy.
Even
the
temporary
crowns
fit
beautifully.
The
permanent
crowns
look
amazing,
indistinguishable
from
real
teeth!
(Though
idealized
to
make
my
smile
look
great.)
They
even
made
me
a
new
retainer
for
free!
3.
I
had
a
deep
cleaning
for
the
first
time,
with
Patty
Valin.
Patty
explained
everything
beautifully
and
helped
me
develop
a
good
oral
healthcare
routine.
The
deep
cleaning
was
easy
and
didn't
feel
like
a
medical
procedure.
She
kindly
let
me
skip
the
Novocaine
and
it
still
felt
like
a
regular
cleaning.
Patty
is
a
fantastic
clinician,
who
I
continue
to
see
for
regular
cleanings.
The
best!
4.
Some
people
have
questions
about
cost.
Nevins
Center
requests
payment
on
the
day
of
each
visit,
a
common
practice.
They
then
submit
a
claim
to
your
insurance.
If
they
recommend
a
procedure,
they
create
a
treatment
plan
that
indicates
the
costs.
There
are
no
surprises
and
they
don't
rush
you.
(They
would
tell
you
if
the
matter
is
time-sensitive,
but
they
don't
create
a
false
sense
of
urgency.)
You
never
feel
like
a
choice-point
was
skipped
over.
With
this
very
adequate
notice
and
accurate
cost
indication,
there
is
time
for
financial
planning.
As
a
former
case
manager
in
Boston-area
homeless
shelters,
I
frequently
made
medical
and
dental
referrals
and
evaluated
costs.
Nevins
Center's
treatment
planning
strikes
me
as
excellent
and
clear.
The
treatment
schedule
and
rationale
has
no
irregularities
or
unexpected
costs.
Their
costs
for
procedures
(implants,
crowns,
surgery,
etc.)
seem
within
a
standard
range.
For
routine
care:
If
you're
used
to
reduced-rate
community
health
centers,
Nevins
Center
might
cost
a
bit
more,
as
the
care
is
very
comprehensive.
This
is
a
hard
point
to
make
without
appearing
to
suggest
that
lower-cost
centers
don't
provide
excellent
care.
They
do,
especially
in
Boston!
But
this
isn't
an
apples-to-apples
comparison.
Routine
cleanings
at
Nevins
Center
provide
a
clinical
level
of
care
that
can
be
experienced
as
especially
helpful.
For
me,
it's
a
great
investment.
