Serene park with beautiful views of the city and surrounding community. It's a great place to set up for a morning workout or yoga session. Lots of sculptures to view and amazing landscaping. Very quiet in the morning. Gets very busy as the day goes by. Take a ride in the Swan Boats which are a landmark of the Public Garden's since 1877.

A charming park, full of live music (when we were there were players with typical Scottish music), people getting married in the park, children playing… a charming diversity! The beauty of the place is unique (beating many parks in the USA). Well maintained and clean. We loved this place and we will definitely be back.

Wow! such friendly squirrels! how come they are much nicer than the squirrels in Central Park, Manhattan? Great park, anyway

What a gorgeous park! So lively with people and things to do! I came on an earth day and got to enjoy the festivities. Also feels really safe and I got some good runs in with the gorgeous scenery.

Gorgeous park to walk around at. It reminded me of a smaller version of Central Park. Lots of stuff to do. Water areas to admire, grass areas to sit at, and statues to look over. On a sunny day, I'm not sure there's a better place to be.

Public Park Boston is a badass place to chill and hang out. It is the oldest public park in America and is steeped in history. You can have a picnic, people watch, go boating or just enjoy the great outdoors. There were also freaks blasting with medieval robes and double collars - premium entertainment

Beautiful even if under construction. We visited this october ‘23. A breather for the city. Homeless people are making it look bad, they don’t know how to throw trashes properly and just pollute and leave them. Limited roadside parking. $2 per hour maximum of 2 hrs

Always a wonderful place to walk through and to just sit and enjoy a quiet spot in the city. Take a break from the city and enjoy the many flower gardens, wonderful trees, water, and some amazing views. My favorite time is early Sunday mornings. Grab a coffee on Newbury Street and then go for a peaceful stroll.

Stopped here to spend some time this morning. It was a cool comfortable morning to go for a stroll. Beautifully kept gardens. Very peaceful and relaxing. Everyone walking past was so friendly. Seems like it's a go to spot with dogs. Parking early gave great access.

If time was not an issue, my wife and I could have spent an entire day exploring and admiring this incredible homage to American history. Not only is this park a massive wonder in and of itself, but the monuments and their historical value provide a sense of time travel as you realize these works of art were created before anyone you know lived. Breathtaking every step of the way. Centrally located with access to all of Boston, this park is the perfect place to start your adventure!

Beautiful garden to relax and the swan 🦢 boats make it more beautiful experience. The boat quick tours are well managed with young and friendly staff. More of a place to relax with family or friends. Not many the things to do for kids. Nice place to hangout and in evenings you have people playing music at different places. Enjoy and Relax! 👍🏻

Very beautiful, easy access, historical park with seasonal blooms and calming water features. Ideal for an impromptu picnic or relaxing sit on a bench. Family friendly with plenty photo ops. A quick walk through just a portion of this magnificent park will definitely return for further exploration!

We found a trolley stop but no prices were listed. We went to ask a driver about how it worked and he said just hop on and we'll take care of you at another stop. We were surprised about an hour & many stops later to find out it was $46 a person. We thought that seemed a little bit expensive. He dropped us off at the end to pay. At that point we were given an out-of-date map. I mean the stops were the same but it said the deals that you would have got in 2018. It mentioned that we should have gotten about $50 worth of coupons so that we could have gotten off at stops and gone to museums at a discount or for free. We did not get any coupon books and we did not find out that it was an option until we already finished the day and paid and left and were looking at the map. I would do this again but I would strongly recommend starting at a stop where you can pay and getting all of the information up front. If you got on in the morning and got off at each stop and visited things you could spend an entire day doing this! It is a great deal of fun but a little more communication up front would have been helpful and actually getting what we were supposed to would have been terrific too.

Tours are very informative and entertaining. You're able to hop on and off at 15 stops around the city. When it's cold the windows do limit the ability to take photos but over all a definite recommendation for anyone visiting

nice way to see city... driver was very knowledgeable. If you're just wanting to see Boston's historic sites, you might want to walk the Freedom Trail. But to see more of Boston this is definitely a great way to go. The drivers were very knowledgeable, humorous and very polite. Each of them had some different additional knowledge than the other about the town, history and sites. This is a great way to get around town and let to most places you may want to go without the hassle of driving and parking yourself. Drivers were a great wealth of knowledge. You get your money's worth if you get on and off. Parking in the city of Boston cost $30 plus. Drivers were highly entertaining. Stops throughout the city made touring Boston extremely easy and convenient. waiting time was not that much, even while waiting, you can admire beauty if this old town. We got a lot of tips on sites to see; and, places to visit. The trolley was basically a bus, with vinyl windows, which leaked cold air. But, we were fairly comfortable. Great tour. Recommended...

Wonderful way to explore Boston at your own pace. The tour itself lasts just a couple of hours if you stay on the bus but you may want to spread it over two days as there is just so much to see and lots of individual tours available at many of the stops. The same company runs the Boston tea Party tour which I would also highly recommend which at the time of writing was at stop 16.

Rode with Uncle Steve, JD, Steve-O, and New York who were all fantastic guides with an absolute wealth of knowledge. Also did the Ghosts and Gravestones tour. Both are a must for the history/Boston lover as they do a great job of blending historical stories with some modern things of what to see and do like the Converse factory.

I visited a friend about 2 weeks ago, first time in Boston so I had to visit this garden and Boston Commons. Great walking path, statues, ponds and lots of wild life. I would love to come back in the spring to see the flowers bloom. The squirrels are huge!! I’m comparing to where I’m from of course. If you kneel down they will come right up to your hand (so cute!) Since the food is so good here, this is a great place to walk after a good meal. #bostonstrong

On the map right across Boston Commons one would see Boston Public Garden. There is a huge pond in the center and bridge over it, it’s always a lovely view from up there. Beware, there are lot of geese here except winter time. They’ll not harm one or anything, it’s just a heads up. Here are few pictures of my 6 month old Husky puppy in Boston Public Garden. P.S the pond here freezes during winter and people ice skate and walk across the pond. I’ve attached few pictures here.

Serene is a great place to describe this park! It’s small enough that you can just take your time strolling through it! It can get pretty busy. All the flowers the grass the pond and the birds all just come together nicely! Definitely check this place out when you are in the Boston area. It’s all outdoors so plan accordingly based on the weather.

The most gorgeous park in Boston! I always explore different spots and I love how they keep it so well manicured and updated each season! Absolute must any time of year if you’re a tourist visiting the city or a local looking for a chill spot to read or just... be.

What a beautiful venue. Walls, ceilings, the foyer and entrance all magnificent. Never seems a ceiling height so high compared to other opera houses. 1920s architecture. The halls are a bit smaller than I expected. The restrooms are one floor down and the woman’s bathroom are small and there’s a line at intermission so get down as soon as possible or wait before end of intermission. The seats are comfortable. We sat all the way in the back in ground floor and the view is still good. The staff are very friendly and cordial. Great experience.

The originators of this large public space were certainly forward thinking. I'm sure that in the spring and summer, the flowers must be beautiful. We were here in the winter, but the starkness has its own beauty. If you have littles, make sure to visit the Make Way for Ducklings sculpture!

The most accurate description would be a 3 in the winter and a five in Spring when everything is in bloom. Summer and fall being 4's depending on the day. A nice green space in the center of Boston. You can walk completely around it and through Boston Commons in an hour easy. That being said it has a cute lake that has cheap swan boats to ride and beautiful displays of flowers in the spring that draws people from all over to come and take photos in it. It can get very crowded during peak times so be aware. It is nice enough to walk around and can be a nice green break from the surrounding city. Park in the Boston Common Garage if you are driving. There are public bathrooms right across the street in Boston Common, it is inside the visitors center that also sells some souvenirs and has friendly staff. The red line T will also drop you off at Boston Common. This is also where you can find a restaurant open during fair weather and peak time and street vendors selling souvenirs and snacks. Their are occasional musicians performing around and some of them can be amazing (There was an orchestra doing Disney songs!!!).

An absolutely beautiful area located right besides the downtown city area. Always an amazing place where everyone from all the universities and neighboring towns meet and relax. The views are breathtaking, the flowers are surprisingly colorful, and there is a surprising amount of space to lay down a child. Side note there was this synth player at the Public Gardens playing for money, which I never mind, except he was terrible and insanely loud. Hope you don’t have to deal with that hahahaha

Boston Public Garden is such a beautiful place to walk, relax, bike, take photos. The garden is beautiful and feels so peaceful and refreshing. If you are in Boston you need to make a stop here and enjoy the view. The garden is free and you can bring your family and dogs. You can have a picnic, come to read a book or just seat and relax looking at the view. Something I didn’t see so am unsure if they have is restrooms. I had to go to the public library to use the restroom.

My wife and I went for our anniversary trip. The Trolly tours were highly recommended. We bought tickets for the tour, but due to COVID-19, it wasn’t the experience we were hoping for. I called the support center and within days we received a full refund and received a voucher for a future tour in the mail today. I was absolutely shocked with the customer service we received. What a wonderful company. The limited time we did ride we had a blast and learned a lot about the city. The only issue we had was having to wait on busses because Covid-19 restrictions put in place by the city caused the tour to limit number of riders. If we ever go back we will absolutely do the tour again.

We loved it!! A great way to see Boston in a day. The drivers kept it entertaining the whole time, and we learned a lot! There’s a parking garage right near stop 13, Boston commons parking garage. We didn’t have to walk much at all. We thought we’d get off the trolley more than we did, but we saw so much on the ride we didn’t feel the need! Well worth it.

Awful experience with customer service........ Me and my girlfriend arrived at one of the trolley stops to see if we were able to bring our dog on the trolley after explaining to one of the drivers and one of the workers that sells the tickets that it was an emotional support dog and showing the papers to the two workers they said it was okay and we can bring her along so we purchased two tickets after we got the confirmation that we were good to go. We waited around for the next trolley to come around the driver told us that the dog couldn't go on and the emotional support card didn't mean anything and was being extremely rude after we explained the situation ontop of all that she said she was the manager her name is Sue. Then she told all of the trolley drivers to not let us on any of the trolleys and instructed the lady that told us it was okay to bring the dog on the trolley to refund our money which we are still trying to get back (it's extremely difficult to get your money back)!!!! Would not recommend!!!

Very knowledgeable! He took his time as much as you can on a busy boston street, and answered your questions before you could even say them. Loved all the on and off stops!

  • 2/5 Kathleen O. 3 years ago on Google
The service would’ve been much better if they had not falsely advertised. The majority of the locations they took us to were closed, due to the simple fact that it was a Monday. Furthermore, most of the tour guides did not inform anyone when they would get off the trolley that the sites at that stop were closed. On top of that, often you would have to wait for a trolley, instead of being able to enjoy whatever area you were in.....just to find out that the trolley was full. The you’d have to practically run to another stop in order to find a seat. The service was SIGNIFICANTLY too expensive for its value. Wish I could get my money back. Would not recommend!

  • 5/5 Beth O. 3 years ago on Google
I would say to get on early take awhile to go all the way around. But does take you to all most all the sites.

We took the one day tour of Boston and thought the experience was great. Getting on and off we got to ride with several different guides and all were knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. We also did the add-on harbor cruise which I highly recommend, it was well worth the small additional cost.

  • 4/5 Shahana K. 3 years ago on Google
We liked having a live narrator (who was also the driver, a little concerned about safety in that respect) and being able to interact and ask questions. I think we had three different drivers over the course of the day. Each had their own style, of course. One spoke very clearly and loudly, which my husband appreciated, as he has a hearing impairment, and even with his hearing aides in, it was hard to understand some of the other drivers. Lots of historical information about the city. Not so much about the city now, but they were helpful in knowing what was open and what was not. The drivers looked out for the riders' safety and frequently reminded riders of the mask law. They were mindful of not making strangers sit next to each other due to COVID-19.

The key ingredient to all of these tours is the tour guide. Some are too much, some are not enough. Some too many personal notes, and some too many dry facts. But... they get you around to all the key spots on your own schedule because they are hop on, hop off. I love them!

  • 5/5 Phillip C. 4 years ago on Google

  • 1/5 Michael 4 years ago on Google
This is one of my least favorite hop-on & hop-off tours, I‘ve done so far. For one, this is due to the fact that Boston is far more attractive by foot than by bus. And the tour is only available in English, because it’s narrated live. This isn’t a bad thing per se, but we had two drivers who were just plain lousy. Driver “Mike” pattered facts of no interest, and driver “Papa Jim” was hushing everyone up who dared to speak while he was talking. This was ridiculous!

  • 1/5 Melissa R. 4 years ago on Google
Way too much money for a trolley ride.

  • 4/5 Jacquelyn M. 4 years ago on Google
The guides are great and what the tour goes to is really interesting but the fact that they don’t have an app that lets you track the location of the trolley and expected arrival times makes it much less useable. You can see it coming in the distance but it doesn’t wait long and there’s no way to tell the drivers in advance to expect people hopping on so they’ll wait more than 60 seconds. They tell you to call and they’ll figure out how far away it is. We did that and either missed it bc they were closer than we were told or waited for 20 mins longer than the expected arrival time. Much easier to hop off than hop on. We ended up walking a few times because it was faster than waiting an unknown amount of time. An app where you can track it live and see how many trolleys there are running & tell in advance who is getting on/off would make this 5 stars. It’s like 3.5 now but rounding up to 4 because of the guides.

  • 5/5 Haleigh H. 4 years ago on Google
The drivers have great stories and are kind. Willing to give great recommendations. I highly recommend if you come to Boston or any city where Trolley tours has trolleys.

  • 5/5 Elisabeth A. 4 years ago on Google
I recommend this for sightseeing in any place you go. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. You get to see the area without the traffic and finding parking. Most are hop on and off, so you can explore where you want in more detail where you want.

There is the Commons, and the Public Garden. There is a road between them, but man is there a world of difference between the two. Here, you have people playing, walking dogs, children and parents. Nice paths and is a nice place in the city to get a way. You can end up at the Bull and Finch a.k.a. outside shot for tv show Cheers or posh stores like Tiffany. Always visit here when in town,

The Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in America. Established in 1837 Two centuries separate the creation of the Boston Common and the Public Garden, and what a difference that period made. In 1634 the Common was created as America’s first public park; it was practical and pastoral with walkways built for crosstown travel. In contrast, the Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in America. It was decorative and flowery from its inception, featuring meandering pathways for strolling.

Loved it. Our walk along the freedom trail at night with all the Christmas lights and music and songs made a great memory from the very depressing year of 2020.

Peaceful, relaxing, and clean! This is a great place to sit and rest for a while. The ambience is excellent, and there are many points of interest to look at. The paths are wide, so there is plenty of space to distance yourself from others.

Very nice walk. My sister studied in Boston so she took me to the park. It has amazing buildings next to it and you also have the flagship spots to visit in Boston very close. A wonderful activity

What a peaceful place in the middle of a bustling city. With large ponds, great flower areas, places to sit and small statues, you can wander a bit and not really run into a whole lot of people. The area seems quieter than the Commons across the street. Beautiful trees and great walking paths give a great place to spend a few hours relaxing.

A wonderful and enjoyable public park with its tall trees and components. We had so much fun watching ducks and geese as well as cute squirrels. We went to this place multiple times, you can take beautiful pictures in the park. Also, some visitors come to it to take pictures of their various occasions, as well as to sit in its spacious courtyards, and the acceptable calm in it makes you read some books if you want. We also saw people practicing some Swedish sports in it to enjoy the nice weather.

This park is beautiful. Large pond in the middle with a bridge in the middle. Gorgeous gardens in a super nice area. Very clean and super safe. I was passing through this park on my way back to my hostel in late September 2021 and got to take in its beauty right before sunset. Lots of people still there. Gorgeous draping trees. I walked here from the Esplanade so I'm not sure how the parking situation is. I'd say stop by if you're in the area but not a must-see. Not worth going out of your way.

Such a beautiful park and gardens. Lovely place to take a stroll or have a picnic. You could even read a book on one of the benches throughout the place. One of the benches is in a scene of a very famous movie called "Good Will Hunting". I wish they would put a small plaque there to honor this epic scene that took place here. I liked all the different types of flowers and trees plus the cute pond. You can even take a boat ride on the pond if you want.

The Public Garden is gorgeous and never disappoints. Great for a short nature walk to rest from the city. The plant diversity and overall vibe of the Garden is very calming. Definitely a favorite tourist spot given the swan boats and the statues, but also great if you live in the city and want to add some outdoors to your day. If you need a longer walk, the Commons and the Garden are the start point of the 'Emerald Necklace' which is a great chain of parks. Given it's proximity to other tourist attractions nearby, consider adding it to your visit. You might even get a chance to see the little ducklings in the pond.

Beautiful park. I never knew of it, in spite of the fact that is across from the Boston Commons. There is a lovely suspension bridge, a pond and lawns all over. Nice time of the year to visit. Perfect weather. Changing leaves just add to the charm. Public park. 😄😍👍🌞

This is a very peaceful and beautiful place to walk around. I go here often with my family and friends and I love it every time. It is just as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer. There are so many picture-perfect opportunities here. The swan boats and make way for ducklings statues are fun for kids and families, and it is surrounded by really good restaurants and shops.

Beautiful place to visit! I highly recommend walking around the whole park to see the full amount of points of interest the park has to offer!

ABSOLUTE MUST SEE 😍 this is my favorite place in Boston. It’s just gorgeous and such a good place to go by yourself and just think, or go with friends and have a picnic! Also it’s fun to find the goodwill hunting bench.

Boston Public Garden The landscaped, 24-acre Boston Public Garden, established in 1837, was the first public botanical garden in the U.S. The Public Garden contains lovely manicured paths, the famous “Make Way for Ducklings” statues, a 4-acre pond with swans and a variety of other birds, and several memorable statues throughout. You can enjoy a leisurely ride aboard the Swan Boats, pedal-powered gondolas which have been in operation during the summer months since 1877. Source: Trolleytours.com

I’d say this is the place one has to visit to brighten their mood as it’s absolutely gorgeous. The views are breathtaking and you can also take a ride on the swan boat which is quite nice. This is also right next to Boston Common, so you can plan to do both on the same day.

My wife and I really loved this garden. We went twice during our vacation. It was a very relaxing place and the animals were very friendly. Look for a duck that has his tongue hanging out the side of his beak, that's Doug, he is extremely friendly.

The Boston Public Garden is a large park surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. The sceneries are visual treat by themselves. This gorgeous park has something to offer for everyone. You can just sit on benches and enjoy its tranquility, listen to live music being played by up and coming artists, set up a place for mediation or stroll around and admire the stunning flowers and the exceptional landscaping. I was fortunate I got to see the colorful foliage. There are statues of historic US figures, a large pond called the lagoon, and a historic bridge that stretches over the lagoon with a scenic views of the water and the island in its center. An iconic feature in the park is the bronze Mama duck with her eight ducklings heading to the lagoon. Truly, it is one of the most captivating park I have ever seen thus far.

The garden is very well-kept and clean. Animals are allowed (but make sure to pick up after them, fines are possible). Lots of places to walk and bike around. The ice on the lake freezes over in the winter into a thick layer and allows for skating (but remember to be careful!). Beautiful park.

Absolutely beautiful. If I lived in Boston, I would come here regularly. With it being the end of April, pretty much everything is in bloom. The tulips were gorgeous. Loved all of the trees. Coming here has made me want to redo my yard. Love that it is within steps of the Green Line. It’s a must if you are visiting, but also if you live here.

Beautiful morning. Beautiful place. Trees just coming to leaf and bloom. Swan boats were awesome. Loved seeing the Make way for Ducklings again. We had a great time.

A beautiful lush sanctuary of green adjacent to a charming 18th century neighborhood. It's a very large and calm space always bustling with events and performers. There was a balloon artist selling balloon flowers and some musicians in different parts playing intricate instruments this day. Felt like a nice, fresh, safe and very clean space in a big city.

This was so nice to see in the city. There was so much space for everyone to spread out and enjoy a nice day. It's so nice that the city has protected this green area. If you are visiting Boston definitely take a walk here, you might even stumble on a fun festival.

Beautiful place to walk around. It's currently in construction, and the lake is empty. Anyway, it's a "must" when visiting Boston.
