Overall, this is a really nice aquarium. The primary wow factor is realizing it's virtually all contained in one large atrium with a spiral walkway up the center and an open-air penguin exhibit across the entire bottom of the room. I love penguins, so being able to see them up close and from slightly above with no glass between us was really fascinating. I also loved the seal and sea lion exhibits being outside (yet covered). It adds a more natural feel to the area, which I'm sure the animals enjoy. I think my only complaint would be that it seems a little small for the ticket price, especially compared to other aquariums across the country. If you purchase a combo pass with other attractions, I'm sure it's a better value. However, all that being said, I was impressed with the number of displays they were able to fit into the space. They made good use of the building's height. I could have probably spent hours watching the center tank - especially the giant sea turtle!

We went on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy but, decent room to move around. The concept of the enormous single tank with a wrap around spiral is pretty cool. As you walk up each level has additional tanks and exhibits around. Nice to see a giant octopus on exhibit, definitely my favorite. Some cool infographics around, geared more towards conservation rather than just stats. Nice to see the creatures with large areas of space to live. The penguins have a lot of space and the open air exhibit is unique at least in the aquariums I've visited. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area and enjoy sea life.

A fantastic aquarium and easily walkable from our hotel. We came here in the afternoon after doing a Duck Tour in the morning. We have been several times and my husband and I agree that the penguin exhibit at the entrance is the most memorable aquarium entrance we both remember. It is worth walking the four floors up and then following the huge tank down the ramp in the middle of the museum. We also enjoyed the sea lion area outdoors.

The aquarium was pretty cool it was well staffed I did enjoy myself it was really small. You can do the tickets at the ticket booth or you can scan from your phone. The wait wasn't too long it was on a weekday but at the same time I didn't know that kids were out of school so it was really crowded. I enjoyed all the animals that were out. I am one that visits different states and loves to see how their aquarium is, this one was average but definitely well staffed to make sure the animals stay safe and the kids stayed safe as well.

The New England Aquarium was amazing! From how clean it was, to how orderly it was organized! The staff was fun, inactive and knowledgeable! The bathrooms were spotless. Gift shop prices were reasonable with some proceeds going back into conservation and rehabilitation of sea life! 10/10 would recommend to anyone, especially with kids. Plenty of room to move around with a stroller, elevator access to all floors. Seriously considering becoming a member here!

The Vancouver Aquarium is a great spot for both kids and adults. The two major downsides are the lack of parking and the amount of people. My advice would be to buy your tickets ahead of time, we spent over an hour in the ticket line. Otherwise, it was a great experience with lots of cool things to see!

Took the kids on a day they had off school expecting it to be VERY crowded, but it wasn't. This was most likely due to COVID capacity restrictions, but it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless. We were able to stroll through easily and there was almost no wait to look at all the things we wanted. More places to sit down on the upper floors would be helpful; little feet get tired quickly. The gift shop and food court were reasonable.

Three stars as I went with great expectations. I expected the aquarium to be big, have shows and more exhibits. After been to sea world, I was expecting to see more interactive programs that educate about marine life, how it's in danger and more variety of the marine life. It's good but not great. Approx. 2-3 hours are sufficient to cover entire aquarium with a break for snacks at a very relaxed pace.

Gorgeous aquarium with an amazing pillar tank housing a spiral ramp to ascend levels. Fun Penguins play at the base while the iconic whale skeleton looms over head. The outdoor sea lion show is fun for the kids along with a "touching tank" of stingrays ain't tiny sharks. Clean and easily accessible this aquarium will not disappoint. Buy your tickets by appointment online and it is smooth sailing upon arrival. Parking is relatively close with a small walk along the harbor to the aquarium. Great family fun and memorable experience.

New England Aquarium is an excellent experience. The four-story Giant Ocean Tank offers you the opportunity to discover and enjoy 200,000-gallon Caribbean coral reef exhibit teeming with more than 1,000 marine animals: small sharks, a variety of fish species, turtles, etc. Also the penguins are so funny. A great place for children too. To comply with reduced capacity requirements, the Aquarium has implemented a timed-ticketing system. Every visitor, including members, must select a time slot when purchasing tickets. Children under three will continue to receive free entry, but they must have a ticket and reserved time slot along with their caregiver. Please note: Due to current capacity limits, Aquarium tickets are non-refundable. Monday–Thursday, 10 am–5 pm Friday, 10 a.m.–8 pm Saturday and Sunday, 9 am–6 pm

The Vancouver aquarium is one of the important place to visit. It has huge number of different marine life species to look at. This is a great place to bring kids. They have maintained the aquarium properly. Will definitely recommend to all of my friends and others to visit here. There is also a very huge parking area adjacent to the aquarium.

Let’s start by saying the aquarium is small and get that out-of-the-way now. If you’re expecting something grand and hours long then that’s not going happen but it fulfilled it’s assignment as an aquarium. I loved that the tank is in the center of the aquarium and you walk up the ramp in a spiral exploring each angle and getting to see different exhibits or species highlighted along the way. The aquarium is conveniently located near many other activities and was a quick and easy subway ride from where we stayed. People were required to wear a mask indoors and the aquarium was kept clean with hand sanitizing stations everywhere. The sea lions were outside so people who weren’t at the aquarium but in the area can see them too.

Really enjoyed this aquarium! I've been to many different aquariums; New England stood out because they created many different environments that were truly natural to the species they were trying to preserve. The penguins were extremely entertaining; there were 3 different species that each had their own environment which allowed them to behave naturally. Would highly recommend a visit!

Amazing aquarium! The exhibits are beautiful and educational, and the aquatic life is so diverse. The staff truly makes this place inviting and there is plenty of space full of nooks and crannies with different wildlife and viewpoints. Word of warning, buy your tickets in advance for a quick and easy entrance. Second word of warning, if you are a guest and you can't live without a cigarette, then leave, don't find some hidden corner of the aquarium and light up thinking no one can see you or smell your stink - it's rude to everyone else attending, and it's rude to the employees.

For the last three years, I've been on the Whale Watchers boat ride, yet I've never actually been inside the Aquarium. Luckily, this year, I decided to skip the 3 to 4 hour-long ride that was about $60 per person, and invested in an All-Inclusive Go City Boston pass. The Aquarium was my first stop on my itinerary, and I was happy to have seen it. The entire Aquarium follows a spiral-like structure, which is lovely, as you literally cannot miss anything. Unfortunately, due to COVID, two of the exhibitions were closed: the sharks and the meant-for-kids section. Greeted by penguins, then viewing animals from the Amazon, to creatures of the sea, every floor was wonderful. The area is wheelchair accessible for each floor, and the bathrooms are clean (there is only 1 on the first floor). You will most likely take photos of the gigantic and old Myrtle the Turtle, which has somewhat become a Boston mascot :D. And when you are about to exit, do not miss the seals, as the door is almost unnoticeable after viewing the loud Rockhopper penguins again. Do note, once you enter the gift shop, you are unallowed to revisit the Aquarium again. I would say that if you plan on coming here, do plan to stay for at most 2.5 hours. I highly recommend it, and if you are using a Go Boston pass, as you exit, you could go to your next attraction on a boat on the wharf.

This place is perfect for kids and adults. There are lots of different species of marine life to look at and to learn. The overall layout is very spacious. Since it's located inside Stanley park, there are lots of parking. We're here from 1pm to 5pm and still have some places that we didn't get to check out yet. Good thing we have 2 years membership so we can come back anytime. Highly recommend!

We LOVED this place. As always. The staff is amazing and I love it more with covid protocols. I dont like large crowds so was nice to just be able to put around the place without massive amounts of people. The creatures are wonderful and my sons first time going and he is in awe of everything. Thanks to all who work there. Greta job

The aquarium was amazing!! It can be bit pricey for a regular ticket, but it’s totally worth it. Near the sea wall, parking is available. You will see a variety of fishes, turtles. They also have special shows hosted for general public. Hope it will re-open soon. The coolest thing to watch was the variety of snakes 🐍

Extraordinary place with an extraordinary mission. Not only does this place allows you to see a larger picture of what we are all part of. It also helps preserve and save endangered species. The penguins are so gorgeous and adorable. Definitely going back.

Great aquarium. Our kids loved it. What sucked was the amount of people, crammed in, pushing you out of the way and tripping over strollers that are slammed into your legs. They said tickets were timed and entry was limited, due to covid19 and to avoid overcrowding, but it was definitely over-crowded. The parents allowing their children to beat on the glass (and acting like it was cute behavior) was ridiculous. I know the aquarium cannot control how people behave, but there were no staff in the areas to correct that behavior (even though it is the parents job!!) The seal tank out front of the aquarium entrance was a great idea! It made our kids even more excited to see the inside. The stingray touch tank was so much fun! My youngest was nervous at first but was so glad he finally touched one. They had so much personality too! It's definitely worth the price of admission! There is so much to see and explore.

This place is fantastic, my niece and nephew loved it. They loved seeing the penguins and how they interact with each other. The sea lions were very cool to look at. The central tank is amazing with many different types of fish and large turtles, it is like a mini reef. I also liked seeing the bioluminescent jellyfish and fish. The fish and other animals were very easy to spot within the exhibit. The information next to the exhibit was good to read. I hope this place continues to flourish for many years to come.

The Boston Aquarium is simply wonderful! There are different species alive and very well cared for by the aquarium staff! There are different rooms in this space. Rooms with smaller marine animals like rays, as well as larger rooms with penguins, sharks and an 89-year-old giant tortoise! There is also a space outside with seals that give a show of diving and jumping! Wonderful space, clean, very well organized and with lots of information everywhere you look. On the walls where it is possible to access the top of the larger aquarium it is possible to see smaller species such as shrimps and a giant octopus that is camouflaged in one of the aquariums for having many species it is almost not noticeable its presence, but when you find it you wonder : but how did I not see this giant octopus? Very funny and interesting the way you learn about marine animals in the aquarium! I highly recommend taking the children to watch the seal's shows and their excellent handlers. There is no parking at the aquarium, there are other paid parking lots nearby and if you arrive early you can find metered parking on the street. Tickets can be purchased on site and on the website!

Should you travel to Boston stop at the Aquarium. The staff were friendly and informative. During the Covid pandemic they’ve utilized social distancing and hand sanitizer stations as well as a mandatory mask requirement for adults and children (not toddlers) for “safety”.

This aquarium reminded us a lot of the National Aquarium in Baltimore, just on a slightly smaller scale. The location is terrific. It was most interesting to watch the staff interacting with and caring for the animals. It would have been nice to have more signs and more staff or volunteers posted on different levels to answer questions. We enjoyed our the theater film on turtles too.

A super cool aquarium! The layout of the building is very fun with the giant spiral center. I love the amount of penguins and sea lions and seals that you can see way up close! The touch tank is a little underwhelming, but it's a nice place to chill by. Also, the sea dragons there are the coolest! I've never seen them anywhere else before.

Very very crowded. Parents have huge baby carriages ans show no respect for other people around them. They run your feet over, clog walking areas, let their kids run around and bang on the fish tanks. Pretty expensive to go at about $40 a person. Timed tickets required. Best get a discounted library pass. The penguins are cute. Good Harbor views.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the New England Aquarium in Boston, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was amazed at how clean and well-maintained the entire facility was. Kudos to the staff for keeping everything in such pristine condition. The care and attention given to the animals at the New England Aquarium is truly commendable. It was evident that their well-being is a top priority. Every enclosure was spotless, and the animals looked happy and healthy. I was particularly captivated by the seals at the front of the building. Watching them being fed and interacting with their trainers was an absolute delight. Their playful nature and sheer elegance left me in awe. The variety of marine life at the New England Aquarium is simply astounding. The sheer number of fish species on display was impressive, and the vibrant colors and intricate patterns of each fish were mesmerizing. It felt like stepping into an underwater wonderland. I found myself spending hours exploring each exhibit, learning about the different species, and being awestruck by the beauty of nature. The staff at the New England Aquarium deserve a special mention. Their friendliness and helpfulness added to the overall positive experience. They were readily available to answer any questions and provide additional information about the exhibits. Their passion for marine life was palpable, and it made the visit even more enjoyable. I cannot recommend the New England Aquarium enough. Whether you're a marine enthusiast, nature lover, or simply looking for a fascinating and enjoyable day out, this is the place to be. The cleanliness, the well-being of the animals, the friendliness of the staff, and the incredible variety of marine life all contribute to an unforgettable experience. Don't miss out on this gem in the heart of Boston! Overall, my visit to the New England Aquarium was nothing short of amazing. It exceeded my expectations in every way possible. I will cherish the memories made and eagerly look forward to returning in the future.

I absolutely loved this aquarium. This was the first public place my family and I visited since covid. I was super nervous but the protocols the aquarium has in place eased all of my fears. The selection of marine animals is vast and worth the visit. My son is 12 so this is little and big kid friendly. We will return in the spring!

We loved visiting this aquarium. It’s good for all ages- fine for people in groups or alone. This place is perfectly set up for social distancing and has markers on the ground so you can go in one direction and be able to see everything. We really enjoyed watching the turtles in the spiral tank swim around clumsily. The workers were also friendly.

This aquarium has penguins! They are rare to see in aquariums. It was pretty big inside, make sure you don’t get lost. At the top floor i think you can see the huge opened cylindrical fish tank from the very top, it was cool. There also a lot of activities, interpreter inform us some fishes (sorry my vocab).

Loved the aquarium. It very well maintained and there's a fair amount of exhibit to visit. I will suggest making reservations before going because it can get sold out pretty quickly on a nice sunny day. There's a parking lot just across, if you're spending more than an hour and a half it will cost you $40 ( but that's the maximum, the highest listed fee for 80 minutes to 24 hours. ) . There are probably cheaper options if you don't mind walking . After visiting you can also walk around the area to visit or relax, might as well enjoy that $40 parking. It was really nice.

Would I come back? No. The penguins caught my families eyes. It took us maybe 45min to walk through. I wish there was more sea creatures. The gift shop I also thought could have sold more stuff. We waited to pet the sting rays at the end and that was also a great experience. The facility is also clean. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. My children really enjoyed themselves. I also really appreciated seeing everyone wear their mask.

We reserved the 11:40 time slot for Saturday thinking they were limiting entry. Boy were we wrong. It was an absolute zoo. You couldn't walk or turn around without running into people. The aquarium itself is nice. We enjoyed the layout with the central tank and the spiral walkway around it. It was just a little difficult to enjoy with so many people. Had to wait in line to get up to any of the tanks.

We used a library pass for 50% off admission. Two seniors and a nine year old child...$47. Parking garage at the Aquarium was $42 for the day. No validation discounts, unless you are a member. Someone recommended a lot for $5, two blocks away, next to a T station. That being said, if you love aquariums, this is a wonderful set up. A giant ocean tank is the centerpiece of the building. Five floors high. Displays are arranged along the walls on each floor. Meet the sea lions tank, penguins, and touch the rays and sharks exhibits are inside, with harbor seals tank outside, as well as a 3D movie building next door. Harbor Cruises and Duck Boat Tours available right there, too. Loved our visit.

This was by far the largest aquarium I've ever been to. Sadly, I was on cruise so my stop at Boston was short and their tickets sold out pretty fast, early in the day and only got to go in at 3:20pm but I enjoyed every second! They had so many beautiful penguin babies and a massive tank with loads of different animals, including a beautiful turtle. The touch tank was fun, and my husband got to pay a stingray. It's a three floor deal, and it has a pretty big entrance with a sea lion enclosure.

I had an absolutely wonderful time here. I do want to say that as an autistic person, it was so exciting and relieving that they had accommodation for people with mental disabilities. At the information desk I was given a bag with multiple sensory fidget toys, as well as noise blocking headphones and a lanyard. The staff were so kind and understanding and having that one small thing really made my experience much more enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

I went to this aquarium for a school trip in seventh grade and wanted to relive the experience for my vacation this year. Totally lives up to the hype! My entrance time was 2 hours after I got tickets, which was enough time for me to get lunch at a local restaurant and walk around Faneuil Hall. The aquarium’s centerpiece is the giant ocean tank, surrounded by smaller exhibits and the penguins. Sea lions are in the mammal exhibit while seals are at the entrance. Only problem: it was crowded, but that was to be expected

My kids loved the aquarium. I wish they brought back the family pictures when you enter. It was pretty packed in the weekend I do recommend a week day for visiting and start at the top and work your way down so you are not in a huge crowd when it opens. The gift shop was ok. I had a hard time finding the hat shirt combo pack for my son's size but that is the best value gift in the shop. We will be visiting again for sure.

The NE aquarium is definitely a place we love. We never thought we would see hammerhead (well really bonnet head sharks) sharks in a tank but we have here. The penguins are really interesting to watch also. The covid precautions put in place are excellent and my family and I felt safe throughout our visit. Take your time and enjoy all aspects of the aquarium because its one way in and one way out. There is no re entry. Before covid we would enjoy the whale watching tour on day 1 and visit the aquarium on day 2 in the AM, break for lunch in the north end, then come back in the afternoon to do another walk around. Unfortunately there are no more little blue penguins at this aquarium. We will definitely return before spring time and enjoy a winter visit.

Amazing experience at the aquarium. I'd suggest getting your appointment as early as possible so you have free reign of the place. Almost all exhibits are open and there is a huge variety, including sloths, and it takes about an hour to go through. The staff was very friendly and informative. Would be five stars if it wasnt so prohibitively expensive.

COVID19 - friendly setup with good spacing and plenty of sanitizing station. Benches have signs if they've been sanitized in case you need to rest. Exhibit is "one way" so no back tracking. Had a lot of fun there. Appreciated the focus on rescue and research, as well as the sensitization of our impact on the ocean. The museum also had a section with reptiles, spiders, birds and possums in the tropical section. Would recommend going to support them as they've been struggling lately. Enjoy!

Just because you can't hug them doesn't mean you can't love them 🐠 🦑🐡🐟 🐙 As many of you know, the Vancouver Aquarium is currently closed due to COVID-19. @vanaqua is definitely one of my favorite places here in the city! They do incredible educational work, research and direct action programs. Due to the closure they have limited ways to fund the current operations and most importantly to feed the over 70.000 animals. If you can, please consider donating or purchasing a small gift from their online shop. Which btw ships daily, all around the world. They offer great sustainable toys and homeware, educational gifts, face masks and more. I recently purchased one of their face masks and it sits very comfortably on the face.

A fantastic afternoon reliving our weekly adventures to VA when our daughter was young, and showing off the exceptional exhibits, from rescued baby Joey to the West Coast gallery to the anacondas, to a new guest. This facility is a BC/Canada treasure and we must all ensure its survival.

I used to love this Aquarium. I’ve made 7 hour drives more than once just to be able to come here during my deepest depressions. Unfortunately they removed the Little Blue Penguins, and never released anything stating that they did this or why they did this. The current exhibits are still great. Their quality of care for their animals is stellar. The Little Blues were simply my favorite part, and brought me so much joy to watch.

We had a wonderful welcoming. Staff was attentive, kind and informative. Even with Covid restrictions, we still had fun. The baby saw other kids for the first time in a long time and it was just priceless. It was easy to follow directions from beginning to end. It was clean and had disinfectant stations throughout. On our way out, we stopped by the gift shop. Our daughter loved it. I haven't seen her so amazed and enjoying life lol. She fell in love with the turtle magnet and we bought one for a souvenir. She played with it all the way back to hotel, throughout the night and first thing in the morning. I think we have a turtle lover in the family. Unfortunately, we forgot it at the hotel before heading home today. She was fussy all the way back seeming to look for her new friend. I am looking forward to our next visit and hope we are in for a more "normal" visit like we had when I was younger. Thank you for a memorable night with my kids.

The exhibits are fascinating to experience and, due to COVID, the capacity limit has been reduced, which lead to a much more enjoyable (and less cramped feeling) experience. I have been here a few times and, pre-COVID, it is usually pretty crowded, which makes viewing all the exhibits more difficult, albeit still enjoyable. I'm sure I'll be coming back here again.

IT needs more air way, I went with my grandkids and husband we had a nice day out but inside the aquarium was not enough air to breathe, too hot and humid ,may be because of too crowded it was packed my grandkids were complaining about too humidity, for me AC was not working properly enough for so much visitors on that day.Otherwise it a good feeling enjoyed with the animals and beauty of them just try to keep a better way on what ever circumstances. Thank you so much.

I love aquariums and this wasn’t the exception. Although many people wouldn’t give five stars because is not that big I liked it! The part that I liked the most was touching the rays and the sharks. It was an amazing experience even if they were small. We also enjoyed watching the penguins and eels. I also got a little souvenir:)

Went here with friends and it was absolutely so much fun! Volunteers were cleaning the penguin exhibit and there was an employee also holding a penguin to apply some medication to its feet and waiting for it to dry. I asked her a ton of questions and learned so much from her! I loved learning about the penguins - how their identify male from female, territory, how they are raised, etc. Highly recommend visiting. Great place for kids and for cute dates!

My partner of 5 years proposed here yesterday (12/07/21) by the sea lions and seals and it couldn't have been better. I absolutely love the ocean and it's creatures and this facility is one of the better ones I've been to. The animals look happy and well cared for, and throughout our visit from 12-5 they were all checked on and fed their special diets. Cleaners were consistently going from level to level cleaning and sanitizing, and all staff and guests were very diligent about staying masked up. Can't wait to come back! This is a very special place, now in more ways than one!

Went early in the AM on a weekday and there was hardly anyone else there. My kids enjoyed it extra because they basically got all the exhibits to ourselves. We managed to get metered parking and toured all the exhibits 2x within our timed meter. Also the touch tank was the "best thing ever" according to my boys!

A little on the small side but the aquarium was a good time. There's a lot of cool fish and we got lucky enough to spot a diver in the big tank! We went on a Saturday and it was a little crowded, so go during the week if you want to avoid people. I did feel at ease knowing that everyone was vaccinated though and am over zealous that they checked my vaccine card at the door.

We had an amazing time at the New England Aquarium. As we slowly walked up the spiral staircase we enjoyed observing the fish in their natural habitat. When we reached another floor we also took the time to view the other displays that provided further insight to sea creatures and wildlife from around the world. A very fascinating experience. Later we went to the theater to see the various films about animal odysseys. That was fascinating as well.

Such a great time. Tickets were so simple to buy online, parking was simple and convenient and only a quick 2 minute walk from the aquarium. Staff was very professional, polite, and filled with information on the exhibits. And the exhibits in marine life were awesome and fun to watch and learn about. I believe it's children three and under are free. In my one-year-old daughter had a blast

A simple, easy to navigate aquarium that mimics that of the National Aquarium. As you walk up along a spiral staircase, each floor features another hemisphere or range of marine wildlife. Once you get to the top, you're rewarded with a top-down view of the entire tank! Highly recommend attending the keeper presentations! They are some of the best family-friendly ones I've seen. Information is presented well, quick to digest, and engages visitors with aspects of animal care and conservation rather than showing off tricks or feeds. We went on a warm winter and arrived first thing morning during the holiday season. Even then, it quickly got busy. It wasn't crowded but still surprisingly busy for the first opening 10-15 minutes. The best thing about being there early was watching the animal care staff taking care of the curious penguins on the ground level. The aquarium is filled with above average signage and includes story-telling aspects to connect visitors with marine conservation. I enjoyed learning the names and stories behind each animal! Not to mention the displays are clear and functional, nothing seems "ancient". The shark and ray touch tank was busy but didn't bother my experience at all. The staff were awesome and were excellent guides. It was overall an amazing experience. Don't miss the seals, an outside exhibit to the side of the Rockhopper penguins or the seals outside of the aquarium by the ticket booths!

I love aquariums and I think they do a great job at this one! The ticket agents monitor how many tickets get sold so that the place isn’t overly crowded. We went on Veterans Day so there were a lot of family’s and kids but it wasn’t over the top because of the monitoring. The shark and ray touch tank is temporarily closed so keep that in mind.

The penguin exhibit is really well done and it was fun to watch them in this exhibit. That being said I feel like the ticket price was extremely high for a fairly small aquarium. It took about 30-40 minutes to go through.

Awesome place! Highly recommend coming as early as you can and see the penguins during feeding time! You can spend an hour or two, and then grab lunch at one of the many dockside restaurants in the area. The variety of wildlife is awesome to see. The massive tank is mesmerizing.

The aquarium was very nice, but even with the timed entry it was way overcrowded on the weekend. There was no room to get close to any of the tanks alongs the walls so we had to skip most of them. I wish they didn’t allow so many people in because we weren’t able to see at least half of the exhibits. The center tank was gorgeous though and we loved seeing the penguins.

The first time I came to this place I was about 14 years old and I know this place had more animals to see. I remember we when downstairs and walk to the other side to get back upstairs wild we see all the animals. It is less now. This time I when with my kids and we first when to the so call movie. The ticket for the movie was about the same price of the tickets from the movie theaters but this so called movie was 20 mins. Yea it is 3D but the price is crazy and the price for the parking too. I had a good time because I was with my kids and they enjoyed. That’s all it matters.

HONESTLY will give you the most realistic review ever. This place is great to come during a WEEK do not come during the weekend because its just way to crowded. It’s small but it’s still a nice place to look at a lot of things. I went on a Saturday and after 20 mins we left but came back on a Tuesday around 3pm and It was not packed and was not shoved around and was able to take my time. The reason I say do not come during the weekend is because this place might seem huge from outside but it’s tiny.

I expected better ... after 30 minutes the inspection was over ... I wish I had paid so much for it. Very uncomfortable, dull, all the action takes place around the penguins, rising each time a level higher Each exhibit is purchased separately. Not at all budget for a family of five

We became members and even though a good portion of the aquarium was closed it was a wonderful experience at 9:00 on Sunday morning. The staff was super helpful and friendly. We are going back next weekend 😊

Just left after the best experience I've ever had! Mid-week during a pandemic meant literally no lines or crowds anywhere! We went for the early time slot but were running behind so they bumped us to the next one with no problems at all. Tons of hand sanitizing stations and clearly marked "follow the current" signage for a single direction flow. All the employees were wearing masks the RIGHT WAY so it was really reassuring and comfortable given 2020's situation. I was able to take a panorama at the top of the tank with nobody except my son in the frame! Love love love 🖤🖤🖤

It was a beautiful aquarium. Had a good time here. Due to COVID they had penguins on the floor that you had to follow throughout the aquarium. It was good because it kept it organized and kept people moving through. It is a little smaller than other aquariums I’ve been too but it was nice. Took less than an 1hr and a half to go through even with some stopping in between.

The Boston aquarium is a great place to take children, and family. The outside is clean and near a theater that shows animal documentarys and interesting shows. There is also a tank with seals inside, that is free to see. Inside is not free however but is worth the ticket to go in. One of the first animals you see are penguins. They are not in reaching distance so safe for children. There is also a tank with rays in it, this tank however is in reaching distance for children. This is on purpose because they allow you to pet the rays. There is also a gift shop and cafe upstairs. Location is right on the water and right next to a place where they give boat rides and whale watch sails. Across the street is a suspiciously placed Legal Sea Foods. On the street, there are many trolyes and tours including duck boat tours. (Water and land tours) Right down the street is a parking garage and a park with sprinklers for children. Overall a very good experience and I do advise to take children there to see the animals. 10/10

Its a good aquarium but I couldn't see large sea animals like dolphins, whales, sharks , seals etc. There are plenty of penguins and a few very large turtles. You can see the aquarium's staff feeding food to the animals live. The Atlanta's aquarium is really good compared to this one.

We have always loved going here but for the price, we were disappointed. No sea lion show, due to covid. Cannot pet the stingrays due to covid. Not getting the full experience, so lower the price. They offered a military discount which was inly two dollars and only for the military person. Most places allow you to apply the discount to your entire purchase. Overall, we still had a nice day, but I don’t think I would go again in the near future.

I loved what we saw & did enjoy our time here! The sting rays were our favorite. We were hoping for sharks so they do not have sharks here but they do have information and a center for sharks to visit still. I would of also loved hearing from staff to teach us. We didn’t interacted with any staff here but the front gate. Small aquarium so it felt a bit over crowded for us even with reservations. I would plan 1.5-2 hours to visit here. The cafe was not open during this time.

  • 5/5 Nathan R. 2 years ago on Google
The aquarium had a friendly and efficient ticketing agent and the phone representative was very helpful. Myself and a 12 year old had a great time. There are many fish displays, but the penguins seem to steal the show. It’s a unique aquarium that goes upstairs rather than being spread out. It is a smaller aquarium than many, but everything they have is well maintained.

  • 5/5 Mike B. 2 years ago on Google
Fun for the whole family! Pet some sting rays. Stare at some penguins starring back at you! The penguins are worth the cost of entry alone! Exhibits around every corner; a must see while in Boston. Short walk from the subway and Quincy Market. A perfect day trip, but would be much better if you had the whole weekend there.

  • 5/5 Paleofan 2 years ago on Google
Informative introduction to the amazing beauty and wonders of the worlds oceans and water world and the connection of all life and environment. The penguin and sea lions exhibit was great but by far was the central tank, the reef tank, the cold water reef tank. Other notable aquariums were the weedy sea dragons, the electric eel and the Amazon river fish tank.

  • 5/5 Marissa M. 2 years ago on Google
We did the whale watching and aquarium ticket combo. It was well worth the cost. We saw over 7 different whales and didn’t go more than 5 minutes without seeing a whale come up. We saw humpback whales, minke whales, and an ocean sunfish!! The aquarium is also very cool. More unique than others I’ve been to with a huge circular tank in the middle that you go on a ramp around it to the different levels. The penguins were fun to watch and they also have fur sea lions too.

Been many years ago when my kids was small. Had a memorable time them but this visit was more enjoyable. The exhibits was fun and petting the sting rays is better the second time around. The seal and penguin was fun to watch. Could have remember that the shark exhibit was bigger. Surprised to see it down size. Miss the octopus as well.

First time going to an aquarium and it was just absolutely incredible!!! I went earlier this year and had to go again this recent Summer! TONS of animals/fish/sealife! Place was clean, covid guidelines were great, staff was excellent! Loved the penguins!!! Also loved that giant tank with tons of windows to see everything and you can walk up to the top! Lots of exhibits to see and lots to learn! Will defiantly keep coming back! Also nearby is boat tours of Boston! It’s just absolutely perfect!

An absolute treat to visit!! Second time visiting from NYC & just gets better each time! Place is pretty organized & staff is friendly and attentive! Covid safe with sani stations everywhere & not a lot of people! We loved how informative the Aquarium was and we loved even more how active all of our sea friends were the day we visited! Well worth the visit!!

  • 5/5 A F. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful as always, tons to see and friendly staff. I imagine the empty gift shop and the crowds were because of Covid's influence but we went on a Groupon and had a great time. I would say if you're going to go try and do it on a weekday because the weekends are just too busy to really enjoy your time but we had a blast either way and will be coming back. My favorite exhibit was the electric eel, I always love seeing the octopus but I think that they passed away between our previous visits so bear that in mind if you're looking forward to the octopus.

  • 3/5 Cassandra B. 2 years ago on Google
We went to the aquarium yesterday. We used our city pass, and I'm glad we didn't pay out of pocket because it wouldn't have been worth the money IMO. The sea lions were really cool, the touch tank with the sting rays was also awesome, and we loved looking at the fish and penguins. However, my kids and I got bored quickly. It was cramped and uncomfortable to get around. We skipped a lot of the fish tanks along the walls because we could never actually get in and close enough to see anything because there were loads of people at each one. If you did so happen to get to one that wasn't loaded with people, you would quickly get cornered in. We were all so excited to go here, and it was really just a disappointment. We originally came here for the whale watch, but that got canceled unfortunately. It was really cool seeing all the different animals up close, well the ones we could get close enough to, but if you're coming here expecting something amazing, I feel like you'd be let down. I hate that I'm giving this place a lower rating than I wanted to, but I feel I need to be honest. It wasn't horrible here, there just wasn't much to see or do. We got through in under an hour.

The best experience of our life... This is not the first time that we visit this place and its definitely the last one. We moved out of Boston 2 years ago but we still come to the aquarium once a year for vacations.. definitely highly recommend 👌

We got tickets here for the whale watching. It was totally awesome. First if you are like me and have a queasy stomach on the water I would definitely take something. We saw a couple of whales. It was also a really neat view of the harbor.

Great getaway for the weekend! The tix is $32 for adults, $30 for college students only. The interactive shark tank was one of the best features of this aquarium, you get to touch the sharks softly while they swim by. The seals were also very eye catching and you will be able to watch them interact and play with the trainers There are also two different kinds of penguins at the entrance of the aquarium The aquarium isn’t too big, but you can spend around 2 hours in there. Expect to see so many different marine species you’ve never seen before!

  • 5/5 Devon J. B. 2 years ago on Google
My faves were the sea turtle, sea horses and of course the penguins. However, all the exhibits were great. From colorful coral to sassy seals. From slithering snakes to jolly jellyfish. So much to look at and enjoy!

  • 3/5 Md Faishal Y. 2 years ago on Google
Good place to spend time with your kids. Might not be that much amusing to adults. Underwater tunnel is a big attraction to me which is missing here. It's not that big. One to two hours is enough for covering all sections. Boston Harbor cruise boarding point is just nearby. It's a good idea to plan these together. Entry fee seemed a bit costly. But there are some packages for multiple places visit which reduces the overall cost.

  • 5/5 Charles T. 2 years ago on Google
Overall this is a really good experience. They've got a lot of really nice well-kept displays. It feels a lot like a lot of other aquariums though, and I won't say that it blew me away but it was very good. It was very crowded when we went but it was a holiday weekend. If it was less crowded I could have spent a lot longer in there for sure.

  • 5/5 Esther M. 2 years ago on Google
It was my first time visiting. I loved it. The penguins were fun but smelled of fish (🥴) but don't let that deter you😅 Hope you like the pics. Will take better ones on my next visit💪🏾

  • 5/5 Renee R. 2 years ago on Google
Aquariums generally don't excite me much. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the way this one is set up. The huge aquarium in the center allows you to see the creatures from all angles. The walkway spirals around the tank, starting from the bottom all the way to above the surface, allowing you to see the fish and creatures from many different depths. The place is very clean, which was apparent when watching the penguins. We didn't experience that fishy smell that usually accompanies penguin exhibits. Also, the penguins have such a large place to hang out. They looked like they really were having fun! If you enjoy visiting aquariums, I would recommend this one.

  • 5/5 Darek N. 2 years ago on Google
Public aquarium with a wide variety of exotic fish including piranhas and mantas, birds (penguins), reptiles (turtles, anacondas), mammals (seals), jelly fish, corals, etc. However there are no big or mid size sharks - nevertheless it's definitely worth seeing!

Wonderful aquarium! The animals are treated well and are all healthy and safe. Staff are knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Reasonably priced, a cute gift shop and a cafe with a view over the harbor. Great place for families and tourists. Say hi to the penguins for me!

  • 5/5 Melissa L. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for all ages! The penguins were so fun to watch! Bioluminescent jellies, giant sea turtles, sea horses, and so much more!! You can touch the sting rays and watch the sea lions. Even with timed ticket entry it was very crowded. Take your time and enjoy these magnificent creatures!

  • 4/5 Tia W. 2 years ago on Google
This aquarium is very unique in that there is a penguin exhibit along the entire first floor, then a spiral walk way up with a viewing tank in the center, with each floor having its own tanks as well. The top floor looks down on the center tank, with great views of the turtles. Outside, the seals were LOVING the attention from passersby, and this visit the touch tank was open. We were able to touch sharks and stingrays, after being able to find a place to stand. It is difficult to walk around here and take your time, just because of the amount of people.

  • 5/5 atom t. 2 years ago on Google
A must-visit on any trip to Boston. The Aquarium is beautiful and wonderful and all superlatives rolled into one, when it comes to an educational venue. Turtles, sharks, penguins, seals, eels, jellyfish, rays you can pet...this place never loses its appeal for me. It's mesmerizing and calming and breathtaking in the diversity of natural beauty. A fascinating treasure of New England. Expect to spend about 1.5-2 hours here if you really want to take it in and learn about the sea life and ecology; 1 hour even if you visit it like an art museum and let the beauty and color wash over your vision. Tickets were $32 for adults. Gift shop is not big, but the gifts weren't stupidly expensive either.

  • 4/5 Shonna C. 2 years ago on Google
Loved the layout and our son enjoyed the aquarium. Wish they had a full live shark exhibit like other aquariums we've visited. I would recommend eating before going. The cafe left a lot to be desired.

  • 4/5 Elizabeth T. 1 year ago on Google
It's a bit pricey and it's difficult to find parking in the heart of the city. That being said, they have a very cool cylindrical tank going up all the way to the ceiling. It was cool to see all the different animal feeding times and at one point you could see two workers in scuba gear in the large tank. The sting ray touch tank was a big highlight.

  • 4/5 yaotomesoba 8. 1 year ago on Google
Cute aquarium. I’ll lay out the pros and cons to help anyone visiting Boston for a few days decide whether coming here is worth it or not. Cons: I wasn’t a fan of layout of the building itself and the flow between exhibits was kind of awkward. Also, the touch tanks (ie where the sharks and rays are) are right at the entrance and easy to pass by when you enter. If you go into the gift shop before seeing that area you won’t be able to come back in without showing your ticket again which is kind of annoying. The ticket price was also kind of expensive for the size of the aquarium ($34) considering there isn’t that much to see and you’ll probably spend 1.5-2h there at most. The gift shop has only a few items with the cute logo on it and the rest have tacky clip art on them that you wouldn’t even be able to tell came from this specific aquarium. They should at least put Boston on there or something. Pros: Some of the habitats are so creatively curated, from the shape of the glass to the way they planted the vegetation, it’s all very pleasing to the eye. If you go in the morning you can see the animals being fed which is extra entertaining. They all seem happy especially the turtles who you can see love to be handled by the marine biologists. All staff is friendly and open to answering questions. If you have small kids and came with a stroller they have elevators and a ramp that goes all the way around the building so you can walk around easily without missing anything.

As a fan of the film Next Stop Wonderland, the New England Aquarium was a must-see during my visit to Boston, and it did not disappoint! The aquarium offers a AAA discount and a university discount. Upon entering, I turned to the left to the sting ray petting experience and shark exhibit. This was the first of multiple stops where aquarium staff were on hand to share information and answer questions, which was great! I appreciated the washing station, too. The shark exhibit was interactive and engaging. I could go on about the multiple exhibits and aquariums in the main building, but the jewel of this Aquarium is the enormous, multi-story tank featuring sea turtles, schools of fish, and the scuba divers feeding them. I suggest calling ahead to find out when the feeding time will be so that you don’t miss it! See if you can find the small Puffer fish in that large tank; it’s not easy, but worth seeing that friendly little face! 😊 if you turn to the right as you enter the main space, you will find a flashlight attached to the railing that allows you to play with the penguins! They enjoy swimming after that light (which is in a fish shape) just like a cat chases a laser!

My family and I had a fantastic time here! The tickets are a little pricey but it was definitely worth it. The aquariums were lovely with diverse options. There was also a sting ray tank that allowed people to touch the sting rays which was wonderful. The bathrooms are clean and well-kept. There are rental lockers for coats and other accessories for only 5-7 dollars. 10/10 would recommend, especially for families with smaller children!!

  • 3/5 Jessica M. 10 months ago on Google
The big highlights are the penguin exhibit, the sea lions, the sting ray touch tank, and the tank in the middle with a walkway that circles around it for about 4 floors. There is a shark exhibit as well, but it is mostly an informational exhibit. Some cool smaller tanks, but it was not a big aquarium overall. We bought tickets in our phone while standing in line to buy tickets in person. They were timed tickets but we were able to step out of line and go right inside. It was a Friday, but the biggest crowd we saw was in the touch tank with the rays, and even then, we were able to walk up and touch them pretty quickly. We did see lines waiting for the elevator, but we always took the stairs. (Ramps were available for most every floor and while I wasn’t paying a lot of attention, it might have only been the top floor that did not have a way to access it by ramp.) All in all, a good experience but if you are visiting, there are so many other great places to check out first.

  • 5/5 Neil Christopher A. 10 months ago on Google
Loved visiting this aquarium. Lots of exhibits and marine life to look at. The staff and presenters are extremely knowledgeable. They do presentations at several of the exhibits throughout the day. There is a gift shop and cafeteria onsite. There are also lockers to store things in if needed. The theater for the features films is next door and is a modern, well kept theater with an expansive screen and comfortable seating. Worth a visit. I would return again.

  • 3/5 Joanna H. 9 months ago on Google
It's a nice place, however it is really not a huge aquarium. We were a little bit disappointed waiting for daily seal training shows that never happened. Taking all of the above into consideration, this place is overpriced, including gift shop. It's a good idea that tickets are available online, and there is a limit of people coming for a certain time, but IMO too many tickets they sell for the same time because it was way over crowded.

  • 5/5 Shay W. 11 months ago on Google
Visited this aquarium while on a school trip with 150 kids. The tour was amazing and the building is beautiful. The fish look like they are very well maintained as well as the property. This was such an amazing sight to see. If you're in the area would absolutely recommend for a visit!

The aquarium is quite compact and spans over 4 floors upwards, centered by a huge round middle tank. Its very easy to navigate and the amount of fish and other creatures is amazing. I do recommend going in the week if possible as I went on a Sunday and it was incredibly busy.

  • 3/5 Rich M. 7 months ago on Google
Ridiculously busy. Wouldn't have thought it so busy with timed entry. The penguins and seals were being fed while there. The large tank in the middle was pretty cool. The other displays were mobbed. Only had a few very small sharks.

  • 5/5 Paul M. 8 months ago on Google
Nice aquarium worth visiting in Boston, with plenty of different aquatic species, as well as penguins and seals. The 3D theatre shows are great, especially the one about preserving the blue whale population. Admission is not the cheapest, but it's worth it to keep the animals safe. If you like aquariums, a must do while in the area!

  • 5/5 Twal H. 8 months ago on Google
I had an amazing time at the New England Aquarium in Boston on a Sunday! Despite the crowds, the experience was still enjoyable. The variety of marine life on display was captivating, and the interactive exhibits added an extra layer of fun to the visit. The only downside was the congestion, which made it a bit challenging to fully appreciate everything. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this aquarium for an engaging and educational day out!

  • 5/5 Gravel R. 4 months ago on Google
Great aquarium experience! There is a massive center aquarium with a walkway that goes around it, and then several floors of smaller aquariums, and a penguin habitat at the bottom. We had a great time there, spending most of the morning there. It's not the biggest aquarium, but it's well set up. Next time we're in Boston, we'll be back here.
