I loved this place!!!! I ate here every single day of my Boston trip. This has hands down the best lobster roll I have ever tried. The workers here treat you like family and help you decide what to get! They put a good amount of lobster on the roll and this place is surprisingly cheaper than surrounding lobster shacks. I 10/10 recommended the hot buttered lobster roll and trust me upgrade to fries from chips. The chowder is also very good, but the star is obviously the lobster roll.

I was planning to go to Neptune's, which is located next to Pauli's because it had been highly recommended. But the line was too long to wait. (Very inefficient way to get a table by the way). This proved to be very serendipitous because we popped into Pauli's which is located right next door. I ordered a hot Buttered Lobster Roll and it was fabulous! This was my very first Lobster Roll ever so I can't compare it to any others, but I can say I was not disappointed. Service was fast and super friendly. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Went on a Sunday around 345, not very busy luckily! There is limited seating inside, maybe 10 stools around. Ordered a hot butter lobster roll and paid the $3 upgrade for fries instead of chips. $34.23 total First time trying a lobster roll and it was delicious. Very buttery, roll was kinda sweet it all just tied together well. 👍🏽 picture speaks for itself and the fries are crispy and delicious.

Ordered a hot buttered lobster roll with onion rings. The roll was full of meat and very tasty. I enjoyed every bite. The onion rings were OK, they looked like they came out of a bag; too perfectly round. But I came for the lobster roll and it did not disappoint.

I was really looking forward to loving their lobster roll since it's supposed to be the best. However, out of all the different lobster rolls I tried during my trip (which was at least 7), this one was my least favorite. Maybe it was because I went 2 hours prior to closing so food wasn't as fresh, but my lobster was rubbery and overcooked. Not to mention the roof of my mouth was bleeding after I bit into a piece where they failed to remove the inside shell/gristle in the claw - so that was painful (picture attached). The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean, I just wish my food experience was better and injury free.

Pauli's is the best option for a lobster roll. I had a hot classic that made my day. It was a great option among a wide menu where I would defitnely give a try to several sandwiches. Most recommended ! Walking around little italy was not that pleasant since streets were very dirty and full of garbage. However, Pauli's is a tiny food option local that brings the best flavors there!

Super friendly staff, tons of sandwich choices, and large portions. Tried the “Super Mario” which is a meatball sub with cheese sticks. It was super filling, but it was missing something to make it perfect. Also tried the “Honey Bee” which is a chicken cutlet and bacon. This was my favourite and would recommend it. You will not leave hungry or sad. This place is fantastic.

Excellent hot lobster roll (they did not have any lemon to squeeze on the roll, however they did pour some lemon juice into a small container to pour on top). Does no one else eat Lobster Rolls with lemon? The chicken parmesan was really good too. Large portion, couldn't finish all the penne noodles.

Right next to the popular Neptune Oyster but it’s much less crowded and not much waiting needed… and you can get one of the best lobster roll in Boston! The amount of lobster meat is plenty and it’s also fresh and juicy!

Ordered a steak and cheese and there was barely any steak. Called to address the issue and the woman on the phone told me it’s always been a 1/2lb price went up but the amount of steak didn’t change. I said I come pretty understand prices go up but there is no steak in this sub. She said “the steak gets lost in the roll, the roll is big.” Shes sorry but that’s how is it. And that was all I got. I just want people aware that if they are looking for a good steak and cheese it’s not from here and NOT worth $13.

The food here looks amazing, very good tasty lobster roll. Shared both hot and cold rolls, the cold roll was okay and the hot roll was delicious but falling apart as pulled out from the plastic container.

This lobster roll was darn good and I loved every bite. There was so much lobster in every bite and they didn't put too much butter on it which was nice. There are many places to get lobster rolls in Boston but this is the best bang for your buck because these babies aren't cheap. The lobster is nice and tender as well which makes it that much better.

It's a small shop so limited stools to sit in but came in 30 min before close and got the chowder, warm butter lobster roll, and the prosciutto sandwich. The clam chowder was the first time I've had it, was creamy and warm exactly perfect for the rainy day, the lobster roll had so much lobster we put some in the chowder and I wish I could order it like that. The roll melted under the weight of lobster and butter but the bread on the cold prosciutto sandwich was thick and chewy/dense. Overall really enjoyed it and can see why it's featured on Diners drive ins and dives (didn't know until we saw the poster on the wall but made it that much better). We split everything and felt satisfied, lobster went for about $28.

First time trying Lobster Roll and Clam Chowder. Pretty good. The Lobster is fresh enough to jump out of the bread while we're eating 🤣🤣

Busy spot, but fairy fast service. Great portion sizes, especially for the price. We ordered Killer bee sandwich with gluten free bun and grilled chicken (in place of chicken cutlet), fish sandwich and a 16oz clam chowder. The grilled chicken was well seasoned but extremely dry, and the gluten free bun completely fell apart on me. Gluten free buns tend to not hold together well in general, but because of the large chicken pieces, it easily broke apart the bread when trying to eat it. Definitely not worth the up-charge, given the bun was not consumed in the end. It likely would’ve been great as a non GF option. My husband enjoyed the fish sandwich, which had two pieces of crispy fish - not the highest quality fish but still tasty. The chowder was served with mini oyster crackers- it was pretty good.

Honestly…it was meh got the anthem and a small fry. Huge portions, but wasn’t wowed or even really pleased with the food. Chicken cutlets were good but…that about sums up the good. Bread didn’t seem fresh or homemade for a place in the north end of boston, meats were good but again nothing special, oil was way too sweet, got chipotle mayo which was also very sweet, fries were okay, and the ketchup with the fries was…sweet. for $18 i would much rather go to monica’s, or grab a whole pizza.

For about $26, you can get a hot and buttered lobster roll and chips at Pauli’s. This place has been featured on the Food Network, has had tons of stars visit, and lots of success. But one bite into that hot lobster roll and you’ll know why. The buttered and grilled bun was the perfect vehicle for that mountain of lobster they put on top. Yes, $26 is pricey for a sandwich, but you definitely get your money’s worth. It was delicious and my mouth is watering for one as I sit here typing this up.

Pauli’s is the tiny neighborhood shop that happens to serve one of the best grub around. The star of the show has always, and will always be, the Hot Butter Lobster Roll. The Hot Butter coats the roll and your tongue so luxuriously, so lovingly, so sinfully. It makes me want to cry. Coupled with some sweet lobster meat and a toasted bun, it’s a roll that you’ll want to eat in one bite. Then grab another. And another, until your cardiologist tells you to stop eating, you pig. On any given day you’ll find people of all walks of life huddled inside Pauli’s waiting for their order, and others casually chowing down on the tiny tables just outside.

Not very suitable for sitting there but the food over there is fantastic! The No.1 is the lobster roll which has butter in the bread and you can choose hot or cold. I highly recommend to have hot one although summer now.

Hot butter lobster roll was fantastic. Lobster cooked perfectly. Was not chewy! Great roll!

A must stop while you are exploring the North End of Boston. I had the lobster roll … hot. Can also order it cold. The lobster was fresh and cooked perfectly. And you get plenty! You’ll meet folks from near and afar while conversing sitting on stools. Worth the splurge 👍

I’m not typically a lobster roll person but whenever I’m in Boston, I try to get one. This is the first time I tried Pauli’s and I actually think it’s one of my favorite lobster rolls here! I got the hot lobster rolls and they definitely give you a decent amount of lobster and the price is not as crazy as many other places. Their clam chowder was also tasty and had a lot of stuff inside. Overall a good experience, just wish they had some more seating. I’d come back next time I’m in town!

We went here just for the Lobster Roll. Decided to try the hot one. Melt in your mouth, great sweet/buttery flavor.

Nice place for a quick bite walking around the north end! Both the lobster rolls and deli style sandwiches were perfect. Limited counter seating for a cozy lunch. They had a huge selection of food that we'll have to try on another visit.

Whenever you visit Boston, you have to try, at least once, a Lobster Roll or how they say "Lobsta Roll." In my case, I had 3. What can I say? I love them! When you pass by, it looks like your typical sandwich shop, but once you enter, the walls are filled with pictures of celebrities who have eaten there. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. The best one I had was @paulisboston. Located on Salem St in the famous North End Italian district in Boston is Pauli's famous Lobster Roll, and it didn't disappoint. Don't let the price scare you away. It is average to pay around $28 for one, but it is so worth it. Enjoy!

The food was absolutely delicious! This is the best hot buttered lobster roll I have ever tasted. My husband enjoyed the fish sandwich. Great atmosphere.

The food is great. Overpriced but good. It is a smaller lobster roll than you will get like at vineyard. But the code is to me better than a hot buttered. It is a small place so you might not be able to sit so you have to walk and go. A small order of fries with two lobster rolls is almost 70, but you only need one small order of fries. It's pretty healthy. It's a small place. You can walk right past it so keep your eyes open

Their lobster rolls are reasonably priced and very tasty!! The place is pretty small so there isn’t a lot of seating, but it’s still great if you want fast and cheap lobster rolls! Only downside is that the restaurant doesn’t have restrooms available for costumers.

Great sea food restaurant located at the north end. Went here just for the lobster roll. I tried the hot buttered lobster roll which was great. Juicy and loaded with chunks of lobster. Must say, lobster is indeed the priciest item on the menu here with everything else fairly reasonably priced. Wonder if the lobster roll here -a bit overrated?
