A great symphony hall. It has a lot of details in the design, there are a lot of sculptures around the hall. Best seats to choose are one on first balcony. Do not recommend the seats on the sides specifically the first sections. The sound still be great but you can not see much.

It was my first visit to BSO. Symphony Hall was old but beautiful. Among the programs, we looked forward to Rachmaninoff the most. Their playing was great. The strings part sounded very rich, and the wind and percussion parts sounded really good. My seat was reasonably priced and I was lucky to get a seat in the middle as the front seat was empty. It was a wonderful experience.

A great group which plays a mix of popular classic pieces and more eclectic selections. The hall is stunning. I especially enjoyed feeling like this marble lady (one of many scantily clad figures on the walls) was staring into my soul during a recent performance of Rite of Spring! I always encourage visitors to Boston to make time for the BSO during their trip.

We've gone to multiple shows here over the years and it's always a good performance in a stunning venue. With a large parking garage across the street, and a T stop in front of the building, it's easy to get to and from the venue with ease. I wish there was more to do around the area after the show, but that's not on the BSO. We've sat in all areas of the hall, and haven't had a seat we didn't like yet.

Went to see Boston Pops for Star Wars and it was pretty awesome. They play the music to full length movies. Basic snacks like m&ms available and alscholic and non-alcoholic drinks. On the floor level can have drinks and foods, but not on upper levels to my knowledge (except can have bottled water) The wait staff were wearing android aprons to set the theme. The hall is directly off the Green Line so very easy public transportation to get to/from.

I have been coming to Symphony since 1983. Since the pandemic, I have enjoyed the most wonderful musical experience. The repertoire has been incredible. Some of the most exhilarating and diverse music as it always has been. But with a new twist. The audience is on its feet at the end of every piece. Really a wonderful evening..thank you.

This is such a great old hall -- amazing sound and a wonderful orchestra. The center balcony is a bit far from the stage for a solo performer -- we saw Hilary Hahn last week and it was amazing, but I did wish we'd been closer on the side -- but honestly, that's nitpicking and the huge open room is just so great. My favorite thing in Boston.

Oh, what a beautiful night of music this was! The evening included a Ravel piece, an American premiere of a new work commissioned by BSO by a French composer and Rachmaninoff's full Symphony #2...gorgeous (especially the 3rd movement). The space was beautiful, too, with it's lush acoustics and stately statues along the walls. So glad we took our 2 teens in spring break vacation!

Went to the sensory friendly Christmas concert. Had a great time with the family and the music was great. There were also rooms where kids could go to draw, color or be themselves whenever they needed a break. Will definitely be back next year!

Greatly enjoyed the Christmas Boston Pops show. A friend and I have a yearly tradition to go to the Christmas Pops and sit at a table on the floor. We really missed it during Covid, but started the tradition again as soon as the Pops were back at Symphony Hall. Would highly recommend going to the Christmas show and any other performance of the Boston Pops.

This was our 4th year going to the Pops on Christmas Eve and it is a wonderful experience. The venue is beautiful, you can get cocktails and snacks, and the music is of course amazing. Only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is every year the first half of the show is kind of slow and sleepy and definitely not as entertaining as the second half. It’s Christmas Eve, everyone is there to get into the holiday spirit and besides the Nutcracker portion of the first half the rest was just kind of blah. The second half is upbeat with fun Christmas music and very lively. I wish the entire show was like that, but again, it is always a great experience.

First program of the 2021-2022 season! Anne-Sophie Mutter played Violin concerto No.2 with John Williams conducting, the hall is almost 100% seated!

10/31/2021 performance: Conductor Thomas Wilkins and soloist Victor Wooten breathed life into the BSO! This was the most enjoyable performance I have ever experienced at Symphony Hall. The performance was refreshing, uplifting, and exciting and my attention was riveted to the show at a level that I have never experienced before at BSO! Thank you so much!

BSO is always good, but not great this time. The highlight was a cello soloist who actually wasn't part of BSO. I felt that we were one in a list of colleges with the same music line up and the director was a bit bored. The pieces were each a sampling of each generation of alumni. I've listened to Boston Pops many times, going back to the bicentennial show in 1976 on the esplanade. That was great. This time was a bit of a disappointment in comparison. But even as a disappointment, Boston Pops remains a good experience. Note, restrictions on filming limit photos.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere, the music.. wow. I wish the seating was a little better. Felt like they were trying to jam as many people into the center area, but all in all it was an amazing time. Worth every penny to see the Boston POPs play! Keith Lockheart is an amazing conductor!

There aren't enough superlatives to describe the hall or the BSO. Even if you don't care for classical music you should experience it at least once.

Fantastic concert hall, I loved everything about it personally. It'd be nice if you didn't have to wear a mask, so I hope they drop that soon. It's also very expensive, but you can get cheap tickets (with passes - check online) so not the worst thing in the world.

Went with my partner and our three (adult) children with their dates for the Boston Pops Christmas Spectacular. The performance was superb and we all had a great time.

Amazing venue. Amazing staff - all of them were so helpful and go the extra mile. Went to the pre-show dining… FANTASTIC… food was just as good as the show! Please go!

Saw the Holiday Pops Matinee and it was really a lovely time. The theatre is intimate and the balcony levels are quite nice. If you are a member at the MFA (which is definitely worth it) then it’s a short walk from their parking which is discounted to a pretty reasonable price (for the area). The Pops translate really well to children as there is just a fun energy that they bring and everyone got to join along, watch, listen, etc. so it was very well spaced to keep the energy across the board. And saw the big guy!

Attended a BSO rehearsal on Thursday. Terrific event. The orchestra rehearses and the audience gets to watch. Very casual and lovely. Prior to the concert, there was a talk about the music selection. Very nice. PS. My pic shows only a few musicians on stage.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra is one of the best in the world. I've been a subscriber and have purchased single tickets. The BSO has free events like BSO 101 and tours. I've sat in the narrow jump seats on the second balcony, in the back of the orchestra, front row seats, prime orchestra seats, and everywhere in between. While every seat is a good seat acoustically, they're not all equal. First balcony left, first row, close to the stage is my favorite spot because there are no obstructions like heads and the stage can be easily seen no matter your height. Acoustically, these seats in the first balcony or the center to left orchestra, around row H through K are my preference. One year, Anne Sophie Mutter was the performer on the first day of the season and performed with her back to the audience, facing her fellow performers. I was sitting towards the front, to the right. Couldn't see her at all, except when she came or left the stage. There's definitely some type of Blindspot to the right. Whether it's strings, piano, or choral, the BSO gives great concerts. I do prefer the more classical works like Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky.

I love this place, it's beautiful, and the music is fantastic! They offer promotions and discounts too, from time to time.

This is probably the second or third best Concert Hall in the world. The staff is wonderful. And always pre-order your drinks before you go inside for they will be waiting for you at intermission. Other people will be staying online and you’ll be sitting there enjoying your cocktail.

Excellent acoustics. Beautiful spaces. Outstanding musicians. The previews before the Friday matinee performances are free and well worth it. You will learn something meaningful even if the music described is a piece you are familiar with. Book the before performance meal for an added treat!
