😠 I never write reviews, but I've had such an incredibly bad experience with CHA. Seriously, do not waste your time with this place. Don't make my mistake of thinking that because they're such a large provider, they must be a solid PCP option. Nope. CHA is so bad. Everything logistical is so challen... People often mention hospital, care, experience, time, call, told, appointment, doctor, staff, insurance,

I never write reviews, but I've had such an incredibly bad experience with CHA. Seriously, do not waste your time with this place. Don't make my mistake of thinking that because they're such a large provider, they must be a solid PCP option. Nope. CHA is so bad. Everything logistical is so challenging; there's an incredible amount of bureaucracy. Gazillions of phone transfers whenever you want to figure anything out because no one knows the answer. Whenever I have any kind of question, I feel like I'm bashing my head against a wall because all the answers I get are so unhelpful. (For example, if I send a message stating I want a copy of medical imaging, the staff can't just take care of it for me; instead they give me another number to call. The onus is always on the patient. The staff rarely does anything to make your life easier.) I've had some good experiences with providers here. But I've also had some TERRIBLE ones. Like a terribly condescending nurse who was trying to use scare tactics to get me to come in for an in-person appointment one week after I had a virtual one (which I wanted to be in-person in the first place, but the staff incorrectly told me they were not doing in-person visits at that time). Run away.

I wish I could've read these reviews before selecting a PCP for my family and utilizing this facility here. I have been battling incorrect billing issue since my first visit from November, 2023. I even put my insurance company on the phone with CHA billing department together to review, and CHA was unable to fix the incorrect billing code issue. Every time I reached out, I was directed to my insurance company. In MyChart secure messages, I was told my account was sent for review and no need to worry about the past due notification, but in reality, the past due balance was sent to collection agency. Absolutely nightmere and horrible customer service experience. Do yourself a favor, read these reviews and seek for cares elsewhere. I would never return to CHA again, ever.

this hospital is TERRIBLE I have no idea what happened to this place it was great years ago within the past 12 years it’s gone WAY DOWN HILL. I had the WORST birth experience OF MY LIFE 12 years ago, Just recently I had a miscarriage at 19 weeks our nurse was AMAZING he has the nicest kindest man. Our doctor was SO COLD HEARTED didn’t even say I’m sorry for your loss, nothing. She even tried to not give me an ultrasound. Then never came back in the room after my ultrasound that I indeed got. my mom has her PCP at this hospital with CHA her PCP of YEARS who was GREAT recently retired, and ever since he’s been gone she’s been getting the worst treatment. My mother is an almost 60 year old woman who has been having really worrisome issues with her gut area, she got tests ran and her PCP tells her she was diagnosed 11 years ago WITH HEP C?!?! She was extremely nervous only to find out a couple days later she “miraculously cured herself” and no longer has it BUT NOW HAS FIBROSIS OF THE LIVER. No one explained what stage, what it is, ANYTHING, THEN TOLD HER A WEEK LATER SHE HAS NO SCARRING ON HER LIVER?!?! FIBROSIS IS SCARRING OF THE LIVER!!!!!!! Like what is seriously going on at this place?!?! Then my husband and I go to the hospital on Saturday because he has had extreme burning in his stomach for days, can’t eat or drink, nothing. They say “it’s a virus you’ll be fine” only to wake up this morning with blood in his stool. Does that seem like a virus to you? They took his blood and left it in the room for an hour. Came back in 30 minutes after they ran the blood and said your fine. They literally do not even the BARE MINIMUM at this place. It’s terrible. If you actually want to know what’s going on with you don’t go here.

Let me be clear, this is the worst healthcare service you could choose. They will bill you $497 for a telehealth appointment. That's $175 for the virtual "visit" and $322 for the nurse practitioner's time. Are they double charging you? Yes Is there anything you can do about it? No Should you go to CHA? No...

My fiance has had a claim processing since MARCH 2022, its August 2022! I called my insurance and there is no claim. I called Cambridge health and Brenda M. from billing stated it was still processing. How can it be processing when other claims go through without any issues? I requested to speak with a supervisor and Brenda asked to speak with my fiance, the patient. After conferencing him in she explained the issue and suggested that he call back in 30 business days. There is absolutely NO WAY I am waiting until October to get this resolved. I will personally NEVER go here because they don't know how to process claims. I am also going to seek out other offices who are in-network with my insurance so my fiance and I don't experience this again. Update 09/02/2022: I posted this on 08/31/2022 and filled out the form provided below from CHA. This is now being resolved. Update, today is 09/15/2022 and the claim still hasn't been processed through my insurance! I sent CHA another email.

I took my son to the ER for a matter that needed urgent care but I was sent home with nothing except with the discharge papers that had contacted information to reach out to specialist. I called the specialist only to find out that they could have done an ultrasound at the ER which would have expedited his care. This is the closest hospital to where we currently live and I am new to the area. I am blown away by the lack of care that we received. I should have checked google review prior to going there. I have received better care at rundown urgent care in the middle of nowhere than this jacked up place. Please if you love your loved ones don’t bring them here. It’s trash. Now I am setting here worried about what is wrong with my son and I won’t know until next month b/c that’s the realist appoint for ultrasound with the specialist. Ugh! When I tell you they did absolutely nothing I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

My family had a truly terrible experience at this facility. Areas of particular concern include: 1. Inappropriate treatment and care management, as well as a shockingly rude and condescending bedside manner from the physician. 2. Few to no options to address issue #1. The patient advocate number is an answering machine with the promise to return the call in 48 hours. This wait time is too long. If there is a patient concern it should be addressed the same day (if during normal business hours). When we voiced our concerns, the care team (physician and multiple social workers) would not contact the patient advocate themselves and repeatedly directed me to the patient advocate number which I had called the day prior. I had to repeatedly ask the team to get a patient advocate for us over the course of 4 hours and had to go so far as to demand and advocate as a “human right” before one of the nurses offered for the nursing supervisor to come talk to us. Although the nursing supervisor was very nice it was after 5pm when she eventually saw us and it was too late in the day to help us. This could have been avoided had the care team initiated contact with the patient advocate or nursing supervisor when initially requested at about 1:30pm that day. This kind of system does not serve patient's or their families very well. Hospitalization is plenty difficult on its own. We should not be adding this extra burden. A few simple changes could make a significant difference and I hope that the hospital takes this review seriously.

I was going to let this go but it weighs so heavily on my mind I feel I need to review. CHA is somewhere I’ve referred friends, family and colleagues for mental health care as the care I was able to receive saved my life. But most recently someone very close to me received “care” from this hospital and when I say I’m beyond disappointed and disgusted is an understatement. This person expressed to me being assaulted by other patients while in the Cahill building during their stay and on their last day after being assaulted again, was rushed through their discharge process. They had a case worker who told blatant lies to both of us and failed to coordinate the proper care program while there and a very careless and sloppy released a MH patient. In addition to failure to ensure proper follow up care was in place and readily accessible. People’s lives are at risk, if you’re taking on the responsibility to treat these people do better at at least acting like you care. All this experience proved to this person is doctors and hospitals aren’t trustworthy, they provide the bare minimum, you’re just a number and a check. Went and opened a whole urgent care for mental health, but your inpatient patients aren’t getting what they need. Meeting with doctors with pharmaceutical agendas, ignoring the patient as a person and only seeing the medical file and the symptoms. Where did the humanity go? Again very disappointed. Update to my review, my person had a second stay with CHA, and AGAIN her entire discharge has been a mess. Suddenly CHA has become extraordinarily careless with their MH patients. May be bringing my concerns to the state at this point.

I'm not someone who complains unless it's REALLY bad. In August 2022, a young intern was given what seemed like complete authority over my perfectly healthy elderly half-sister who was sent by her nursing home for a psych exam (depression). She spent hours and hours in ER before getting a room. She then tested positive for Covid in the hospital & died 2 weeks later. I complained to the good doctors about her (there were good docs & good nurses), but she remained assigned to my sister. I think she wrote her off & did a "death protocol" on her (I wasn't told all the meds they were giving her, even when I asked for a list). My sister was very spry & would try to go to the bathroom herself (not allowed! even with my help)--everything was: bedpan, lay in bed and languish, get pneumonia. The 1st thing they did was stop giving her all her regular old ppl meds. When my elderly mum goes to her great hospital (Mt Auburn in Cambridge), the 1st thing they do is make sure she gets her regular meds. I was told "we're thinking long term, not short term with your sister." (What the heck does that mean?) As the days dragged on, I was told "you just want her to be comfortable, right?" I said, "No, I want her to get well & go home." It was truly awful and I feel so guilty to this day that I didn't drag her out of there when I still could. The young intern (& another doc that seemed to be "in collusion" with her) was cold as ice toward both myself & my sister (even when my sister was so sweet, joking, thanking & complimenting them). I forgive them because I'm a Christian (& so was my sister)--but this disgraceful kind of "treatment" has to stop.

This hospital is the closest one to my home, but OH my GOD! I always stay there for 3 hours or more. Today I was feeling tired and it is being hard to breath. I did a home test for covid and it was negative, so I decided to go the hospital to see if everything was okay. It came 3 nurses and a doctor and I didn’t get a X ray. They are alway talking and laughing a lot and visiting other website in their computers. Like item to shop and stuff. We can see them from the rooms. It’s insane! People are sick. Please give some respect!

I think I'd rather suffer in pain with whatever illness or injury I have going forward rather than put myself through the misery of dealing with CHA - between scheduling appointments, not getting extremely useful or timely care (average late time for doctors via telehealth & in person appointments is 20-30 minutes), getting overcharged for the care I'm getting, and then having the billing department hang up on me midway through trying to dispute charges. Too many headaches throughout the entire process that deter me from every wanting to see a doctor.

My husband had surgery and was hospitalized for 2 days after. I was apprehensive because of the reviews I saw. His doctor assured me that I had nothing to worry about - and he was right! Everyone was great, from doctors to nurses to aides to staff. It was the best possible experience he could have had. Thank you to all that made his time there as good as it could be.

Please don't visit this hospital. I came to this hospital last year in June. I provided my traveling health insurance to them at that time, and they mentioned they would take care of it. Even I followed up with a phone call asking them to send me a bill so that I can file it in my travel insurance portal, the person in-charge ended up asking me "not to worry about it" and she claimed she would coordinate with my health insurance company directly. One year later, a debt collector called me, saying I owed them money in an obnoxious attitude. I was extremely furious and shocked- I thought they asked me not to worry about it one year ago and didn't get any follow up since then. Not only they transfer my personal info to another third party debt collector, I missed the chance of filling the bill in my travel health insurance system. I'm currently filing a complaint at the hospital. If I don't receive a reply, I will likely take legal actions. Please, simply don't visit to avoid any troubles.

PACE transportation dropped my mother off an hour before her ultrasound appointment so we waited in the waiting room. I decided to take advantage of the time and make a call. Twenty minutes later my mother was called, and I wrapped up my call. However, because I did not walk with my mother into the examination room, I was told I could not accompany her to her appointment. I asked the women if this was a new rule and she said yes. When I pressed for entrance, the nurse manager let me in. This is disgusting behavior for healthcare personnel, especially when it comes to elderly people with dementia. There was no new rule. That woman lied to me because I didn’t get off the phone fast enough for her, despite the fact that we were still 40 minutes early. This is typical meanspirted and rude behavior for this hospital and the PACE program. I find them grossly unprofessional and apathetic. Here is my mother on a different day finishing her lunch in the hallway, because they wouldn’t let her eat it in the waiting room, despite being 30 minutes early for the appointment.

Extremely poor service. Like many others, I experienced poor management, disorganized staff, terrible service. I provided my insurance info and had a referral, yet they wouldn't bother to charge my insurance company and send every other bill randomly to me. Other times, they would send my insurance company the wrong information. After a year, I am absolutely done with this place and will never come back and recommend everyone to avoid them!

Very disappointed on costumer service. They don’t have knowledge at all what they doing. They have attitude and specially on the first impressions in front desk. They through each under the bus, becauese they don’t have any clue how to resolve any issues . In radiology of heart department , no body is in front desk when you walk in . I do have great experience with doctors and technicians staff , but not with financial office or front desk , or on phone . So sad that happen in the Boston’s hospital area , specially when they say they are the best in country . Sad . I’m searching for the better health service in different clinic.

Patient's daughter here - Doctors and nurses should carefully read everything about the patient's medicine history , my mom has suffered so much because of malpractice caused by uncaring nurses and doctors that just gave her medicine that has no correlation to what she needs. Future patients - if you must go to this hospital, make sure you bring an advocate with you in case of mistreatment, always protect yourself from lazy doctors and nurses.

Awful humans and awful care. While MA is revered for its healthcare system, this place is the exception. My cousin had such a bad health scare that she had to rely on a wheelchair during this time and she's only 21. She was screaming in pain and could barely move. They told her there was nothing more they could do and kept ushering her to go home and she and her family had to FIGHT to stay. I had an experience myself where I was in the emergency room for a wellness check and after 4 hours of silence and not checking on me, they just sent me home. NEVER go here. This place deserves to be put out of business, they don't care about anyone and have no empathy or redeeming qualities

Do you like being treated as a number instead of a person? Do you like being forced to use apps that force you into a limited number of pre-selected options that don't meet your needs? Do you like working with staff who have complete disregard for you as a human being? Then CHA is the hospital for you. Bonus: the front desk works on bankers hours and takes 90 minute lunches, without staggering.

If I could give lower than I 1 star, I would. Terrible experience. The doctor and the nursing staff I interacted with were nice enough, however, they gave me unexpected bills in multiple places. Charged to get my medical records transferred (without an FYI beforehand) because they chose to go through an outside company. Went for my annual, waited for 45+ minutes for the doctor to get in, was interrupted at least 3 times throughout my checkup. Doctor asked if there was anything else that I was wondering about, I asked about my sinuses. Doctor said I should try going to an Ear, Nose, & Throat doctor and "prescribed" me flonase and claritin, both OTC meds that I didn't need a prescription for; consequently, I was charged with an additional "diagnostic visit" on top of my checkup, which means I was paying out of pocket for the visit, because I asked the doctor how I should proceed with my sinuses if they stay congested. She did not even look at my sinuses nor gave me any type diagnostic exam. Not only was I not told ahead of time that if I mentioned ANYTHING else in my visit when the doctor asked that an additional visit would be added (per the CHA billing department), the second time I sent the claim for review, they gave a determination within an hour and a half. Almost certain now that I iwas prescribed those OTC meds so that the doc could say "look, I prescribed something. That means it's a diagnostic visit." Now changing my primary care physician again because of this terrible experience and never going back. Shady billing business practices. At least be up front and honest about it BEFORE you charge patients. The worst part is, when you dispute a claim, there is NO communication between you and those making the decision. I keep hearing back from the "messenger" that there is "nothing she can do", but they wouldn't connect me or my significant other to anyone who would be able to properly explain the decision and of whom I could explain my case to. This is the most disrespectful practice I have been to, and I will not be returning. Please, I highly recommend going to a different healthcare practitioner.

My insurer’s (Tuft’s Care Link) re-insurer (Cigna) denied your claim for payment for my hospital stay 12/21/19-12/24/19 because you didn’t code it properly. You coded it as a 48-hour observation only, at the expiration of which I was just going into medically necessary surgery. No wonder your ratings on Google are horrifying - the torture and terrorism your billing department subjects your clients to is shocking. And then you have the *nerve* to call me at 9:50 on a Saturday morning to demand I pay a $17,000+ bill?! My insurer will be calling you Monday. I suggest you straighten out your billing errors by then.

I was a new client to CHA Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge @163 Gore St #2 last year and visited them once and never come back again. This is the worst location and I'll not recommended to anyone of my friends. I wish I could give a zero star to this place. 1. The customer service is the worst, they never pickup their phone and this literally every time I called them, I waited for more than 10+mins. 2. I went for a physical checkup at this location, all the doctor did was asked me a FEW QUESTIONS and send me home. Later they send me a bill for $140 (which I already paid them $82 out of my pocket, which I shouldn't do it). I tried to resolve the issue with them multiple times but it useless, and also have mentioned this MULTIPLE TIMES during and before my visit that if something they'll charge me out of my insurance service they should have let me know. 3. I had another Pap smear appointment with this location, they called to cancell my appointment a NIGHT before my visit which I already requested to take a day off from work for my visit. 4. The technology they use are outdated. 5. The HR is a mess, all they can do or can say is there is nothing I can about it. I wonder what they're hiring for? 6. Overall, this location is trying to get you visit them as much as possible and does some extra things or trying to overcharge your insurance for it. And what happens is that if your insurance does not cover. They will just continuously send you the bills or send your account to the Debt collection. WARNING, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!

My partner gave birth here, having given birth to our previous kids at Mt. Auburn. The CHA staff were compassionate, caring, and did a wonderful job of delivering our baby. In particular, Elaine, our triage nurse, remained calm and focused under circumstances that could have freaked out others! The decor and the food aren't much (the nurses at another hospital referred to it as "a dump")... but we're not going there for the decor and the food. Since it cost about $3000 less than our previous experience at Mount Auburn, you should have plenty of money left over for fancy takeout if the food's not to your taste :D

I like Cambridge Hospital. Its my doctors associated with Cambridge Hospital at Cambridge Family Health North that need improvement. I have Covid right now. I had one televisit and one phone call from them. Then nothing for 11 days! When I called today to have a nurse call me back, they called within 30 minutes only to yell at me! She wouldn't call me by my name and she treated me like how dare I call them when I've got Covid and possibly pneumonia as well?!?I asked her to please call me by my name. Yah, okay. You can find better treaters elsewhere.Unprofessional and incompetent. I think they actually want me to die. The only reason I'm still a patient is because its close to home. The. Only. Reason.

I am very upset with the terrible treatment I am having in my prenatal care, I come every time from Framingham to see me at the hospital and I am always attended to quickly, I had a super difficult pregnancy and depression last year which was so strong that I was hospitalized in a psychiatric ward, and today I don't know anything about my baby, my last ultrasound was so bad, they hurt my neck and they didn't even want me to leave the screen on so I could see my baby, so that such a cruel service ? Yes, I am an immigrant, I don't understand English very well, but I am not illegal and I do not know the reason for such poor service, I would very much like a decent service in which I leave the hospital knowing everything about my baby, no they didn’t even tell me about the size and weight, because the doctor’s assistant who would attend me (because she couldn’t attend me and look, I waited for her for about 26 minutes) and at the end they told me it wasn’t possible to measure size and weight, I’m 22 weeks old and they don’t know anything about the baby? I can't really understand, I know we are in a pandemic, but I prefer to be told that there is no vacancy to attend to me than to get there and be treated like this, we are tired too, the pandemic has worn everyone out I know, but it doesn't have to of this, I really want to know what is going on in this pregnancy step by step, I also want to have access to my exams done at Beth Israel that until now everyone who attended to me has not said anything clearly. I need answers !

I waited for over a year to find a rheumatologist and three months for my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I left more than two times the amount of time it should have taken me to get to the hospital. Despite construction and unreal traffic I made it to the address I was given over the phone on time. It should have taken me maybe 45minutes, yet it took me an hour and a half. No office in sight. I find out the guy on the phone gave me the wrong address 493 instead of 1493. I call the office, wait on hold for 15 minutes and tell them what happened. She says she will put a note on my file. I get stuck between two firetrucks in my car and by the time I get there, they won't see me. I can't afford more time off work and they don't care. They have no mercy.

I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to bc/ of how bad the service is here. It's truly the worst hospital I've been to in Massachusetts (and quite frankly any of the states I've lived in). They will upcode you for a basic primary care appointment; your appointment can be a 10min telehealth call and they will charge you for a 39minute apptmt. (My total was $350 and I was told to "wait and see" for symptoms that had been ongoing for months.) Furthermore, the PA is condescending and denied me continuity of care. Save your money and get better healthcare at Atrius Health or Beth Israel.

Website said wait in ER 60 mins. Took 3 hours for daughter to see a person to have vital signs taken. Was told she would get next bed then they took others as she actively vomited in their lobby. Very disappointed in the service of a hospital that is connected with Harvard. When called to talk to charge nurse was talked to in abrupt manner. This poor service would never fly in the ER I work at.

Probably time to find a new hospital. Imagine talking to a specialist (psychiatrist) about changing medications, and getting a call from your PCP/Doctor's office (not the doctor) that she talked to the specialist and her advice for you is literally just these words. "The doctor says get therapy." Nothing else. You send a note through MyCHArt for clarity, "Therapy for what exactly? What type? If I'm currently seeing a therapist is there something I can tell them?" Nothing. You're told if you want, you can set up an appointment with your doctor who can explain further so you do and a month later you have your 10 minute video call where she tells you what could have been said over MyCHArt - "No medication changes. Our advice is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ADHD." Cost for that follow up? 200 dollars. The hospital disagrees with your contestation of this because it was "absolutely necessary." What she didn't tell you is that the hospital has a clinic, it's 4-6 sessions, every other week, here's the number to call, and here's a little more info on it to do your own research. So after another session with a specialist some time later, who tells me no med changes, and that's all, I get a call from my PCP's office telling me I need to set up a video appointment with my doctor to discuss the session with the PCP. I ask why, the office says "I don't know. I'm just reading you the note." Me: "OK well I'd appreciate if there's a way to be informed of why this is necessary, what this is for, and what to expect from this? Is there any way to do that?" Office: "No." So yeah - probably time to look for a new hospital.at Edit - I saw the hospitals reply. I should elaborate I already reached out to them on this issue, it took months of dropped calls, non responses, them coming to a decision (again that there was no failure of communication on their part) - this all played out over 3 years finally by the way. I should also say I went to another medical outlet, had a 1 hour talk with the psychiatrist, got the medication I needed to help with my problem who makes sure to follow up with me. CHA Put me on medications I didn't want, were shown to be ineffective for my cause, had negative side effects, did not check in, etc. Just awful and night and day to the current medical practice I'm working on where they make sure to set up a follow up appointment on every new medication, take an hour to talk with me, get back to platform messages quickly, etc.

This place is a scam! They sent me 2 bills for a televisit. One from the doctor and one from the hospital. A 15 minute phone call cost me nearly $200! You have been warned! They did not disclose any information to me. They can pretty much charge whatever they want. So disgusting!

Dear Cambridge Hospital, I wanted to share my recent experience with your hospital. I called with a question about a medication that was prescribed to me and was advised by the doctors to visit the emergency room due to concerns about potential interactions with my existing medications for BP and diabetes. While I appreciate the caution and concern for my safety, I was disappointed with the experience I had at the ER. I waited for five hours to receive the necessary information about the medication interaction, which was frustrating and stressful. As someone with existing health conditions, I found this experience to be unnecessarily difficult and time-consuming. As a patient, I believe it is important to feel heard and taken care of by medical professionals. While I understand the complexity of medication interactions, I would have appreciated more timely and effective communication about the situation. Overall, I believe that Cambridge Hospital has a responsibility to prioritize patient care and effective communication. While I appreciate the caution and concern for my safety, I hope that in the future, patients can receive timely and appropriate care without unnecessary delays or inconvenience.

It's normal today to get a text confirmation when you have an appointment. CHA? Nope. They'd rather bill your insurance or not see you instead of sendung you a reminder, even when they cancelled and moved your original appointment date out by several months. Pass.

This was honestly one of the worst experience of my life. Do not come here. Starting from the lady at the front desk who was so rude it was uncalled for. The whole time I was treated like a second class citizen. The doctor in training Anna Martens talk down on me multiple time and honestly treated me like I was homeless. Her supervisor dismissed all my symptoms as if I was making thing up. It was amazing to me. I waited about 4 hours because I think I have something serious only for them to treat me like I was lying. Why on earth would I come to a hospital just to exaggerate the symptoms I am experiencing. I left with no clarity with some bs diagnosis. I am more disappointed than upset. Come on people it’s 2020 for crying out loud. Worst experience at a hospital ever !!!!

This place is horrible. My gf came here because she felt unstable. She came here all on her own. Voluntarily. She felt better a few hours later. She set up a follow up appointment with her therapist and everything was set. She never signed a single paper. To add to this, her “crisis counselor” said that if she needs help getting home from where she is that the hospital would pay for it. She dozed off. She woke up to them saying they are looking for a bed. Meaning she’s gonna be going to an inpatient hospital. They straight up played head games with a patient that came here because she felt unstable. I absolutely hate the staff here as well. They are rude and haven’t once asked her if she’s hungry. We will never come here again.

The staff are unprofessional and will bad mouth a patient. Most of them are untrained and can’t administer medication or inject a needle correctly. The bathrooms are disgusting and they have an attitude if you ask a question. On multiple occasions they messed up. Do not come here!

Don't come to this ER. I sent my brother to this ER and we waited almost 1 hour to get a bed at ER. He was in intense pain and they didn't bother to give him any pain killers. After we got into the ER, a RN came to do some bloodwork but he did not give my brother any painkillers. Waited another hour and finally a doctor came, she was kind but I wish the doctor would come sooner. We have waited a total of 2 hours after we check-in at the reception. After all the exams, we were told my brother needs to be seen by a specialized physician. Riduculously, they did not have a specialist on duty on that day, so my brother had to be transfered to Beth Israel in Longwood. We were glad the treatment at Beth Israel was much better than at CHA. Please avoid CHA and go to other ERs.

This place is staffed by despicable human beings without any conscience who despise patients who they treat with unimaginable cruelty, hating their jobs (or maybe loving them in a perverse way since they can torture sick people and wield power over them). In particular they despise women. I needed urgent OB-GYN care, which is advertised on their fraudulent website, and the person who staffed the phone on 1/11/24 when I called to make an appointment exercised particular cruelty and took 20 minutes specifically to drag time only to state that I will not receive care or an appointment. We've all heard the horror stories: the all-too-common sadist in a nursing home. Powerless, helpless patients. This is not a nursing home, but the analogy stands. Defund this place NOW!

Went in for a high blood pressure including head aches and stomach aches they checked my blood to see if i was dehydrated stuck some electrodes on my chest for 5 seconds. They held me there for 5 hours to turn around and tell me my blood pressure was no reason to be worried. 155/105 by the way. This hospital sucks take your loved ones to some other hospital where they will care about them. My uncle went there with pounding head ache they prescribed him tylenol and he died a few days later of aneurism. Alot of malpractice at this hospital, i bet alot of people passed away with these idiots seeing them before. Go somewhere else!

Hated my experience here. Today 09/14/20 I came to get a PT referral that was supposed to be left for me to pick up at Orthopedics. The Orthopedics was supposed to close at 5pm. I left early from work and arrived here at 4:30 pm. The orthopedics was closed. Asked the person on the information desk how to get a hold of them. He called a number which someone picked up and DID NOT wanted to talk to me and told me to call another number in which no one picked up. I called multiple times and asked the person on the information desk if he could call the previous number again. I told him no one was picking it up. He ( bald, in his 50, 60 probably) started getting so annoyed and started yelling 'I don't know' 'call the number'. I told him I was trying. He said this is a hospital that it was half empty, and they were busy. Long story short, I came to get a referral, the place was closed before the time they said it would, I got to talk to NO ONE that could help me or even give me a information of when I could pick up the referral and got yelled at. Moreover SO many other people were around, including security and staff and NO one said anything about it. Can someone remove information desk? Cause it is just occupying space as you can get absolutely no help OR information from it.

I am very thankful to have such considerate and knowledgeable medical professionals responsible for my health care . I recently had a wonderful experience at the GI center that prompt me to write a review , but as I said , I have always had excellent care here and all of the staff is worth mentioning. I really feel Like they go above and beyond . Highly recommend them ! :)

I am a reasonably healthy person, so I don't have any complaints about the care. However, the billing system is unreasonable. This hospital seems to do everything it can to get you into appointments so they can charge you again no matter how unnecessary it is. I've been made to believe that this hospital's primary goal is to wring every penny they can out of anyone who comes in. Tl:dr To be prescribed a medication for ADHD, I was made to pay for 3 separate appointments, only one of which was with a psychologist and the other two being close to entirely unnecessary. The third I asked in advance for the price of that appointment and was told less than $300, then was charged nearly $500. I reached out to my PCP on MyChart asking what the process was to get a diagnosis for ADHD since my psychiatrist was out of state and couldn't prescribe me themselves. They insisted that I needed an appointment for this, so I agreed to the 20 minute appointment during which they only told me I needed to see an in house psychologist. Nothing was accomplished and this easily could've been done with a single message, but they charged me for the appointment. I later met with that psychologist and was told I would need a controlled medication and would need to have a meeting with my PCP to do so. In this time I became unemployed and had no insurance, so I reached out to ask before the appointment how much it would cost for this second 20 minute appointment where all that would happen is he'd write a prescription for something I was already told I needed by someone from this hospital, told information about the side effects, and given a legal drug test that would not provide me with any medical insight or value. I was told it would be a bit under $300 and since I needed the medication, I budgeted for that and went to the meeting. After the meeting, they billed me for nearly $500. I messaged them asking why there was a discrepancy and was told that they won't stand by the estimates they give before appointments and never promised they would. This is clearly unacceptable considering that being charged whatever they feel like after I have already received services just makes it difficult for me to go in any time in the future I feel ill. I told them as much and waited a week for them to respond, but since they haven't I have to assume this is normal for them. I would change hospitals despite having no issues with any of the medical professionals I've met, but then I'd have to go through new client fees and getting approved for all my medications with someone else and I can't afford that. So all I can do is try to warn anyone else, if you aren't confident that your insurance will fully cover anything they do and you will never lose it, don't come here.

Terrible experience so far. I struggled to make contact with a human to schedule an appointment and when I finally did, it was extremely difficult to understand what he was saying over the phone. No appointments for several months out to just establish a PCP. Now fast forward to my telehealth appointment, I missed several private callers, one of which was the doctor. I tried to call back the number and select any option available.. all of them hang up on me. So far it's been miserable dealing with CHA.

To start, I was informed that my medical records is being viewed/shared without my consent; the authorization for medical records to be be released is stripped from the patient when the records are accessible to anyone who uses the same healthcare system software. Example: If your Dentist, Cardiologist and OB/GYN all use EPIC as their software system, ALL 3 doctor offices can see your records. - One provider/office should not violate your privacy by viewing your medical records that do not pertain to them. Tyrone, a case manager at CHA, violated my privacy and another patients privacy. My initial visit, he shared with me that he has 18 cases open. He opens up one of the 18 patients cases he was working on, in front of me. And briefly states what he has done and needs to close out the case. I was not there to discuss or make “simple conversation” about anyone. I was there because I needed care. I did not appreciate what this case manager did but I brushed it off because my focus was my care and I like to mind my own business. Now, the favor has been returned to me- so to speak. Tyrone, the case manager, calls me to discuss things and to close my case. During this conversation he tells me about my other medical information that does not pertain to him. I never asked him or alluded that he should search my medical records from another facility outside of CHA. He took it upon himself to look and talk about my protected health information that does not pertain to him, Cambridge Health Alliance or any of its affiliates. When I asked him, “How can you see my information?”, he responded with “I can see everything because I’m using the system.”. - Reference my point of your Dentist having access to your Cardiologist records without your consent. NEED TO KNOW BASIS. He should have demonstrated self control by not looking/searching through patient records that do not pertain to him, even if it is accessible to him. He shouldn’t have shared other patients information with me. He is a case manager but, if he is not licensed to practice medicine then this makes the situation more egregious. I do not appreciate Tyrone or anyone in the office talking about or viewing my medical records that do not pertain to them.

This is the place to go if you want to pay $1,600 (this is after insurance, by the way) for a colposcopy to check for cervical cancer. Also a great place to go for people to refuse to tell you how much anything costs beforehand (get ready to be transferred a lot and have nobody take responsibility), refuse to negotiate to a more affordable cost, and then subsequently send you personal mail about how you need to go back again for another pap smear soon (also likely no longer covered by insurance because you've had something abnormal show up and that isn't something the ACA mandates insurance covers, google how preventative and diagnostic procedures are defined and billed). Their systems are a joke -- I've had to correct at least two doctors there on when I had procedures done in their system within the past couple of years. It seems to consistently take them several minutes to find the right dates while sitting at their computers.

Since the last time I wrote about this place, I went there cause I had an emergency, however, a Nurse try to kill me there, she put a drug really fast into my IV (that one usually takes with antihistamines) to avoild reaction, this action made me have a bad psychological and physical reaction to it and my heart almost stop. When the doctor told her about it, she began to laugh and insulted me. The rest of the staff continues to treat me less than human. They can think they will get away with it, but the God I serve will revenge me, He has and will keep me safe from all these evil people that try to harm me and they will pay for their wicked deeds towards me, it's a promise!!!

STAY AWAY. THE BAD REVIEWS ARE REAL. Some bad reviews are filtered out. So here is a fake 5 star review so people can read what my experience was like here. I had ignored the bad reviews and I am regretting it. I recently visited this hospital, and while the doctors were good, I had a terrible experience with their administration, specifically the bills and coding department. During my child's wellness visit, every single question asked was itemized and invoiced, unlike my previous experience at other hospitals. Even when I refrained from asking questions during my other child's visit, I was still invoiced for the administration of required vaccines (TDap, MMR, Polio) and the standard hearing test as it was coded as diagnostic instead of preventative. When I inquired about the invoice, the first thing the representative asked was if I had asked any questions during the visit, further highlighting their practice of itemizing and billing questions. This aspect of their service was frustrating and disappointing. I called the billing department with my insurance company to figure out what codes should be used to have the full shot including administration and the hearing exam be covered. My insurance told them hearing and the vaccine admin needs to be coded as part of the wellness visit. CHA billing said they will escalate the issue. Escalation responses takes MONTHS from CHA. No one ever calls back. I have called in almost monthly. ————————————— 5 month update: CHA said they resubmitted the claim and my insurance is not covering the resubmission. My insurance has never charged for me for vaccinations or hearing exam at any other health centers we have been to so I had another 3 way call with my insurance company and CHA billing. Insurance company proceeds to tell us that they are STILL processing the new claim that was submitted 20 days ago. Yes, that means CHA submitted my claim 4.5 months after my first call and months of repeated calls and requests. The real question is, why did CHA billing tell me they submitted a new claim, got a response and that I should pay the remaining balance as part of my deductible when in fact the claim had not been fully processed? The CHA billing person on the call was as surprised as I am and said that she only relayed the information she received from the billing manager. 1 month later: CHA resubmitted the claim wrong again. CHA submitted it as a new claim and that was automatically denied because it looked like a new claim. They submitted another but did not update the diagnostic codes like they said they would. 5 hours on the phone with insurance and billing, I think billing has finally figured it out. They need more training. It’s not fair to them. @cambridgehealthalliace: I have already sent a message. Months of messages. Hours of being on the phone with CHA relations and Billings. Record keeping of calls are not done well. More training and standard documentation practices are needed.

There are some African workers there that have targeted me, I do not know what personal dealings or business I have with these people, but anytime I go there they tend to be very rude and disrespectful to me. I went there on the 4th of December for an ultrasound, the African lady in the reception area in the Radiology amd Imagery departmemt targeted me and was exceptionally disrespectful, inpolite and very rude to me. This kind of treatment is making me rethink if it's save enough for me to keep going there, much less have my baby there. But I will make sure to report this to the head Office. No one should have to feel unsave and mistreated in a Hospital.

Orthopedics department an absolute joke. Was scheduled for an 8:30 appointment, they cancel on me and switch to telehealth call 5 minutes before, at 9:30, implicit hour wait. Jennifer Hoff -- terrible nurse -- is 10 minutes late to the call. Is on the phone with me for 4 minutes, doesn't have my file up, clearly not prepared, cannot answer any questions, offers no helpful advice except to reschedule so they can bill and gauge me. She then says she will ask her colleague something and that she would call me back. NEVER CALLS ME BACK. The gall, I waited an hour to get hustled in to talk to an unprepared nurse who doesn't have enough professionalism to honor her word. Ignores me upon call back to the office. Office staff is rude as well, terribly miserable human beings. Thankfully I went to another Orthopedic provider that day informed me Jennifer had given misguided "medical advice"

I have never been to a worse pharmacy, I’ve been 4 times, every time they’ve either screwed up my prescription or I’ve had to wait 2-3 hours even after putting in the order a couple days In advance. Update: after the pharmacist dismissed me and told me off about how my prescription wasn’t able to be filled, I received a text message almost exactly as I got back to my house saying that the prescription was ready. Cool, thanks. I’ll just set aside another entire day to pick it up.

I had surgery at the CHA hospital yesterday and I was apprehensive and anxious as it was my first surgery ever. I could not have had a better experience. Although I had to wait a little bit at the third floor surgical office, after I was taken in, it was a smooth and safe experience. The nurses were super kind, caring and sweet to me. Shout out to all the nurses - Janice, Dana, Germaine and some more whose names I don't remember, who took great care of me and made me feel looked after. The anesthesiologists Dr Kimberly and another one whose name I can't remember unfortunately were both very calm and sweet. They came and said hi, explained everything and did their best to calm my nerves. A special shout out to Dr. Tyler, an obgyn who was meant to assist in my surgery. He noticed my hesitation when he introduced himself and probed me further. Upon hearing that I prefer female doctors and providers due to trauma, he ensured me that it is my right to ask for what makes me comfortable. Went ahead to say thank you for letting him know. He then made sure to talk to my doctor Dr Beatty about this so that I could feel safe. Thank you to Dr Catherine Beatty as well as her entire staff and every single person who attended to me yesterday. It made my first surgical experience less scary and for that I'm grateful.

Ive dread going to the hospital all my life but this experience was delightful. This experience was different. Such an easy going experience, I felt cared for. I didn’t feel scared even if I didn’t know what was going on. I was alone and far from my family and friends but yet I felt safe and at home. It was a collective. I appreciate every one of the stuff there. Thank you. Even after a long shift just know you’re appreciated.

I am supposed to be in surgery tomorrow to fix sinus issues. For those that never dealt with it on a daily basis, u make a choice. Take 1000 extra meds per week to feel normal or get a synoplasy to fix the issue and hope everything goes well. Especially during covid. Im going to write what I know so far. A whole team of doctors and nurses working closely togther to help me accomplish all my goals. Working together and taking time to call me to check in. I am honestly shocked but extremely grateful. CHA pre pre op is organized and brave. I plan to write another review when I'm safe and feeling better. Two perspectives is better than 1. Stay tuned! I am editing my review today to let everyone know how my surgery went and how I feel about the service I received from CHA. First and foremost, I have to say thank you to Dr. Khalid, Dr. Bijor and Dr Roll for going above and beyond for me. Im finally getting to the source of all my issues from one surgery. In that time, not only did they take care of my sinus issues but they also found out that im having esophageal issues from intubating me during surgery. I have had so many conversations with gastro in the last year about heartburn, stomache issues, etc., so this find is huge for me. I now have a plan to move forward to address this issue. I can't even explain how happy I am with CHAs service. Organized, helpful with questions, understanding, thorough and most importantly non judgemental. Thank you CHA for the great experience.

A good hospital with friendly and capable employees. The security guards are always willing to help. Even the cafeteria is pretty good!

This is absolutely the worst hospital in the world. The emergency room is absolutely hands-down the worst unprofessional ignorant people. I brought my girlfriend there today. She was having complications with pancreatitis, and withdrawals. I went to check her in and she fell on the floor because she was in so much pain and they just stood there and looked at her while I tried to pick her up off the floor in admitting. Also the dumb security guard just looked at us and walked right by us. She was so in so much pain I begged them to please try to get her help and they released her. Then we were walking home. She was in so much pain she fell in the middle of the street and I had to call 911 to take us back to the hospital . Then they released her again. Cambridge city hospital You are absolutely the worst in the world and your staff. I had her transported last night to Brigham and women’s hospital, and they admitted her right away because of her pancreatitis. The doctor there could not believe that she was released twice from Cambridge City.

😠 Allina has really sunk the last couple years. It was always a 3 star clinic before, but now since they have illegally and immorally fired half of their staff for not getting the trial COVID vaccine, their service has dramatically worsened. Its been 8 days since I had a basic influenza and COVID test...

😠 Horrible! You will have better care at a vet office. The check in ladies, and security officer were very sweet that was the only nice thing about my visit, but in the back the staff was dismissive. I came in with shortness of breath and chest pain and they tried to refuse to do any testing. They fin...

👍👍 I brought my 72 year old mother into the ER the day after Christmas. The staff, efficiently, and with genuine kindness diagnosed and treated her for pneumonia. Immediately they put her on oxygen, drew blood for cultures and within 20 minutes of arrival, they had x-rayed her lungs and were able to ma...
