We came looking for tasty Indian food. Found it. It was spicy, even medium is hot so be warned. The place doesn't look like much, and in all honesty it is pretty lowbrow from an ambiance standpoint. The clientele aren't doing their residencies at MGH, Boston University or Tufts. They are more likely to have come straight from India on a J1 work visa for some IT company. But you're not coming here for the latest Todd English atmosphere, you're coming for hot and yummy. Be prepared to wait a bit, and you won't be wrong to order it as takeout to avoid the time issue. But you will scratch that itch for good Indian food-at least on a busy Sat night!

If I could give 0.5 I would have given it that. We watched David's been here video on YouTube and went here. Food was not good at all. Out of the 8 things we tried we like one that too wasn't that great!

We ordered fried idly, superstar Dosa, LET'S MASALA THE POORI, and samosa wrap. *** Must try their fried idly and Superstar Dosa*** Poori masala was also nice in taste. I really hated samosa wrap. It was like samosa chat in a wrap. They were very generous in putting curd into that wrap which made it soggy. and didn't taste well. For drinks we had filter coffee and mango lassi, both drinks were amazing. It is a self-service restaurant. Must visit this place if you are in Downtown Boston. I will definitely visit this place. The quantity of food makes the money spent worthwhile.

It is a nice Indian restaurant in the Downtown of Boston. Service is good. Food is delicious. Need to to change internal ambiance. Busy every time. Coconut Bondam (Thai) are also available. I recommend the Mirchi Bajji.

The food is really good, but the portion was very less, mainly for the chaats. Chaats cost 12 bucks compared to the other where it costs 6-9 bucks. We ordered Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biriyani. It is the best and price friendly, the mutton version will be better, if health permits. Also Aloo Tikki Chaat was good but the samosa chaat will be better since the aloo tikki gets soggy very quickly. Chaat is very costly and portion is less. The Malabar Paratha and Tawa Chicken was very tasty paratha and tawa chicken was in the sweeter side, don't know if we can customize to a spicier version. The Chicken Noodles had good noodle, but portion was inadequate, not worthy of 15 bucks. The Mango Lassi was good and standard like most of the other Indian restaurants. With not many food options around this region, this place remains very popular and crowded.

The masala dosa was amazing!! The dahi puri and paneer kathi roll w/masala fries were really good too. We got the vada pav as well but it wasn't that great. Overall, a decent place with good variety on the menu. I will say you can't go wrong with any of the south Indian dishes.

The idli is well made and soft. Recommend the podi idli and chicken chettinad. Very good chicken biriyani too. The filter coffee and tea are machine made and very good. Recently Vaanga has had a $2 increase on all food items and it has self service so you pick up food to take to your table and clear out once you are done

Recently visited Vaanga for lunch. Order egg noodles , what the tikka and chicken boneless biryani. The food wasn’t good. Noodles were too oily. What the tikka dish which is the chicken tikka - it’s very dry. The meat is not juicy. Biryani was tasteless. It might not be fresh as the rice also was dried up.

The food is delicious, the vibe is immaculate. The only reason it’s 4 stars not 5 is because the cost for the relatively smaller portion sizes is a bit high. Love the food and will be visiting again!

Dosa is a must try here. Sambar and chutney is not that much great. Dosa is crispy and delicious. It is a busy place, table service is not available. So it is better to take away the food if you are not planning to eat dosa.

Stopped here for a meal during a day trip to Boston. Has a wide variety of options on the menu. Is located close to Quincy Market so it accessible via public transport with minimal walking. The food was delicious and the staff was very warm and friendly.

Ordered food from this place for the first time. Firstly, got to say I loved their menu. Great names for the dishes and nice creativity. We ordered biryani, noodles, malabar poratta and mango lassi. The food was very spicy but good food. I mean good food in the sense it taste like a nice Indian food but not authentic. The paratha was like a freezer one and not hand made, biryani taste was amazing but it's not masthan bai biryani. I expected local Indian food taste based on the menu names but it wasn't. Overall, great Indian restaurant food, tasty food, lot of dish varieties, but comes with extra cholesterol (I mean over oily and salty) 👍👍👍👍

Food was good but the menu and prices on the website were way off what was actually on the menu. We ended up paying 3x more than we planned to. Food and ambiance was good though, chai was really good!! Please update your prices though, ended up being a little misleading for us :(

Food was not worth the price. Dosas were very oily that oil was not needed. The place itself is great Loved how they had put out authentic Indian culture on display. Reminds one of the 90s India

The food was very good and tasty. Had ordered rice with kadai paneer and it was well made and tasty. The restaurant was bustling with people, so guess it speaks for that. The prices were very reasonable.

The flavors in the curry dishes were so authentic that it transported me back to my travels in India. The restaurant's attention to detail was evident in the beautifully decorated table settings and the artistic presentation of each dish. Highly recommended.

Good place to take a bite. We ordered samosa, paneer butter masala and garlic naan. Everything was good. Only thing that you have to keep in mind is the quantity.

A cute little place in Downtown Boston. One of the very few Indian restaurants in the downtown. Loved the vibe. I had kathi roll and samosas when we there the first time. Both were very much authentic. I went there again the next day to have idli sambhar. Great food, the best coffee (The Indian coffee) and a very homely decor! I have taken a star off as my husband tried chicken and he didn’t like it as much.

Vaanga is one of our top finds in Boston with a very high quality-per-dollar ratio. This unassuming, un-prepossessing takeout place has a few tables, with eclectic and interesting decor featuring South Indian artifacts and curios. The real awesomeness of the place is in the taste of the food and obvious mastery of the chefs. If you’re looking for vegan keto, this is the place-really tasty vegetarian protein options.

Decent place and pretty good food. The dosa was one of the best I tried in Boston. Definitely order the Tawa chicken and Rumali roti. The server was very kind as he specially made Mango Lassi just for us even though they ran out of it.

Nice Indian restaurant in the downtown area of Boston. Tasty Food. Nicely decorated interiors. Variety of Indian dishes (both veg and non-veg) were available consisting of snacks and lunch from North to South. We tried Masala Dosa and Butter Chicken with Roomali Roti. Dosa was authentic. Butter Chicken was flavorful. Recommended when you are nearby Boston Downtown area.

Authentic Indian restaurant in the downtown area of Boston. Tasty Indian snacks. Tastefully decorated interiors with old Indian things. Feel very Indian and at home when you go there. Excellent tasty Indian food 😋. Food served hot 🔥. Around 15 people can be seated at a time. Covid19 protocol strictly followed. Masks are compulsory. Sanitisers kept in handy. Temperature 🌡️ of the customers are not checked. Parking is a problem here. Wheelchair access is there. Variety of Indian dishes are available consisting of snacks and lunch. Non vegetarian food is also available. Antic Indian things are displayed. Staff are Indians so authentic food preparations ensured.

Decent Indian restaurant with variety of street food. We had ordered the vegetarian noodles and lamb burger and loved it. However their vada pav can be better. Don’t expect much for ambiance.

I had a great dining experience at Vaanga Boston. Although I felt the price was a bit too much, the food was decent and you could definitely try this place if you are missing some of the typical South Indian dishes like Idli, Dosa etc. They also have a wide variety of chaats and I liked the Dahl puri and the quantity you get for the Bhel Puri is great!

Got dinner here tonight, staff was nice. Even though I got my food Togo. The dine in area was very nice and made me feel comfortable. It took about 10 minutes to get my food which is great timing, they also had a lot of pick up orders they were making as well. I ordered the butter chicken medium spicy, sexy samosas and the Irani Chai. Everything was amazing. The curry had the perfect spice and flavor. The samosas had a lovely crisp to them with a great taste. Chai is one of my personal favorite drinks and it was very herbal with some spice. Highly recommend this restaurant.
