Very delicious food and great service. When we ordered garlic knots the waiter passionately explained that there was a similar version of the dish that was even better. He walked us through their process to make this dish starting from making the dough at 4am to pulling it out of the oven. Needless to say, we ended up going with his recommendation and were absolutely delighted with it! I will be coming back here whenever I am back in the area!

Amazing pizza, and great service. The lasagne pizza was particularly good, and my 1 year old even loved the broccoli!

Had a wonderful dinner with family & friends tonight! Delicious and handmade food, drinks, & great service - would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique dining experience. Favorites of the night: -pine nut hummus -eggplant fries -mezzi rigatoni w/ bolognese -dessert assortment (especially lemon sorbet & Peri’s cookie)

My flight got in at 11:30pm and I needed real food. Pastoral was here for me! Not only was the late night pizza amazing, their house ale was so perfect. Craft pizza and craft lagers ftw!

I couldn’t wait to try this menu and it did not disappoint! When you walk in, you can smell the fresh smoking firewood in the pizza ovens. The recipes and ingredients you can tell are carefully selected— the entire menu all throughout, from drinks to desserts, is so refined and the unique flavors just go so well together. The fresh homemade pasta was a step above the rest. I recommend the pine nut hummus and the wings, but everything was unreal!!!! Todd is a creative genius :) I am a new fan and can’t wait to go back. (Gigi’s favorite course was dessert, clearly.)

Great pizza place. The pizzas tasted amazing. We are from out of town and found this place near our hotel. We enjoyed our meal.

great atmosphere and some of the best pizza I've ever had. I was here about 6 years ago and never forgot. So glad I found it again.

I got a sandwich called a puccia. It was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. Beef that tastes like it was braised in water, provolone, and flavorless vegetables. No sauce/spread in the sandwich. It came with a side of raw vegetables, and a ramekin of grease. The bread was the only good part of the sandwich. They do have great pizza there, though...I'll give them that.

From the moment we walked to the minute we walked out, we were very well taken care of. The hostess and manager were lovely as well as our server. The food was good, we had the prosciutto pizza as well as the prosciutto charcuterie board. For dessert we had chocolate mousse and a Lemon ice cream cake, both were great. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know ! 😄

I had the Margarita d.o.c. It was an authentic Neapolitan pizza and was cooked for just the right amount time. Basil, tomato sauce and bufala mozzarella was fresh and delicious. Wood oven really makes a huge difference on pizzas and these guys know how to use it! I will visit again next time I’m in Boston.

Very rusty feeling ambiance and spacious. The staff was nice and helpful. The cocktail I ordered was a bit too sour, but I loved the prosciutto pizza. So flavourful. We also ordered two appetisers and my friends liked it, but I did not. That could just be a person by person case. Overall, it is a good place to hangout.

Pretty good but the flatbread was bland - not enough cheese! Nice interior design but the place was pretty busy and loud. Would come again but maybe earlier in the day. Fun place to take friends and conveniently located.

Went Saturday night after PAX East. The food is a delight - fresh, tasty. A simple pasta dish with Bolognese was an experience. I also appreciated being able to do half portions for every dish - even the half was more than enough. The seating process, wait for food and partial order explains the 4 stars - with the location I would expect more efficient crowd/service management. However, the food was worth it.

The broccolini app is amazing! The pasta special was good. The pizza was too thin in the middle so you couldn't pick it up (maybe ask it to be crispy). 4 stars because of the pizza and the check service at the end was slow.

my husband and I have been ordering pizza for quite some time. Last night we ordered the Diablo pizza with pepperoni and I was very disappointed that the dough wasn’t cooked thoroughly. The pizza on top was cooked but the dough was raw and gooey. We didn’t realize until we got home.highly dissatisfied!! Normally I would give it a five star.

I've walked by Pastoral a hundred times but forgot it was there until I went online in search of good pizza in the Seaport. After reading some of the reviews and going there I thought I'd write this. Everyone who works there that I encountered, from the person who greeted me to Katie, the bartender, were friendly and accommodating. I ordered a margherita pizza and caesar salad to go and a drink while I waited. The dinner came out in less than 10 minutes and I decided to eat the pizza at the bar while it was hot. The flavor of each ingredient stood out and was delicious. The reason for only 4 stars is that the dough was not completely cooked; it lacked the crunch on the bottom and the uncooked dough was apparent on the top when I took off the cheese. I am not the first person to make this particular comment online, which suggests that the chef and/or others in the kitchen are not hearing the message. They should. Delivering the pizza quickly is not nearly as important as delivering the pizza fully cooked. Halfway through my pizza Katie asked me if I liked the pizza; I said yes except the dough was not completely cooked. She said she would tell the kitchen. I'd be happy to return if the kitchen commits to properly cooking its pizza dough.

Absolutely loved our dinner tonight at Pastoral! The whole evening was a unique tasting experience trying different tastes and textures that amazed the palate. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable and timed the whole meal perfectly. The dining area and outdoor area was clean and felt safe and had a great relaxed atmosphere. There were so many unique dishes that it was hard to choose and already planning our next trip to order options we did not get to try this time. Summer special sweet corn pizza with heirloom tomatoes was fantastic as was the watermelon salad, garlic knot with roasted garlic and the olives!!!!! I cannot forget the pine nut hummus. We shared a bolognese that was exactly what it should be with the perfect ratio of meat and sauce and pasta. The watermelon sorbet tied up the meal perfectly. Make your reservation today!!

If the review was based solely on the food quality it would be 5 stars hands down. Went to dinner here with two friends for dinner. The waiter was not able to handle questions about the food and did not write or order down, He was also not familiar with what was on the menu as we had to describe food we had seen other tables order. The food arrived out of order with our appetizer coming after receiving our pizza. The food was delicious and I would go back again, hopefully to find improved service.

The food is out of this world good! Best in Boston. Farm to fork family style Italian cuisine, doesn't get better than this.

  • 2/5 Cassidy B. 2 years ago on Google
The venue is cute but the service is SLOW with a capital S. We ordered two beers, one glass of wine, and a soda. The soda came within five minutes so I know we were acknowledged but the wine and beer took over thirty minutes to arrive although we were some of the only customers. One of the beers was a pop top and the other was draft. Are they squeezing the grapes for the wine personally? No? Then it shouldn’t take so long. Two stars.

Great pizza! Could definitely be thinner, but that's just my preference. Very slightly overpriced, but still good. Loved our waiter. The interior needs a renovation, but other than that, we would love to return. :)

Really impressed with the food here! Shared meatballs and calamari apps - both were very flavorful, cooked perfectly, and reasonable portion size. Also shared the diavolo pizza and it was very good - spicy sausage and perfect crust. Ambiance was nice, service was friendly and attentive.

Came to this place after leaving Pink Tacos since the food there was not good. Ordered a plain pizza. When i got to the hotel, the pizza had greens 🍃 under the cheese (never knew plain cheese pizza came with leaves on it) i hate greens. The pizza was uncooked in some parts and burnt on the borders. Price was a shame considering the quality.

We had a fun team dinner. Their limited vegetarian options were good including Margherita and Fungi pizza and salad and appetizer. Their dessert chocolate pizza and ice cream in a sharable bowl was too good to pass it up.

Was hungry after Fan Expo and found a pizza place near south station that offered gluten free options. I called for a gluten free pepperoni, walked about 10 minutes from southie and my pizza was ready. Overall friendly and quick service. Pizza was great and crispy 😋. I'll have to dine in next time I'm in Boston.

Great pizza place. We enjoyed our Friday night dinner. The pizzas were delicious and rich in flavors. Cool thing about this place is the high table over seeing the bakery zone where the pizza comes in and out out of the over. Cool experience definitely recommended in Boston.

Great pizza. Fried olives appetizer is really good and different. Nice beer selection. Service was good. The margherita is excellent, and the lemon pizza is different than anything I've had and great as well. After coming here, I noticed it is not particularly well-reviewed on Yelp and I can't figure out why

One of the best wood fired pizzas I have had till now. We ordered the veggie one and it was spot on. We went late at night so it was overall quiet with very good music and the serving time was very less. Located in historic fort point neighborhood, would be my go to place for pizza.

Excellent food and service. One of the best pizzas I've eaten in the Boston area. Cocktails and apps are also great. A bit noisy but we did visit on a Friday evening.

  • 2/5 Yuri 1 year ago on Google
1.5 stars would be my rating. First, the good: the bolognese pasta was delicious and so was the veal meatball on the veal meatball pizza; and the ambience is pretty cool. Now, the bad: 18 minutes in between the pizza arriving at the table and the pasta arriving is ridiculous; the full portion of the pumpkin cappelacci is for children (and when asked they gave the bs explanation of it being high on calories); the wine came in soda glasses; the funghi pizza didn't have much mushroom; the pizza dough on both pies was chewy; the waiter would simply disappear (and the restaurant was at half capacity); and to top the bad experience, they tried charging $26 for both "glasses" of wine instead of $20 ($10 each) under the pretense that the menu (retrieved through an updated QR code on the table) was "out of date" and didn't have the $10 wine glass. Bad, very bad.

Came for a post work dinner. I liked the industrial chic decor, very good food, lots of veggie options.

  • 5/5 Chelsea W. 1 year ago on Google
The food is delicious!! There was also a good selection of yummy cocktails. Service was fast and the staff was nice. Tip: the wood fired pane (bread) is pretty small! It’s one piece of bread about the size of a fist. It’s super delicious, but you may need more than one depending on your party size! We got 1 for 3 people and wished we got 2 instead.

Really cool establishment and decor. The appetizers were killer and oh my goodness, their personal pizzas were absolutely to die for. I even got the gluten free crust veggie pizza with no cheese, and I can honestly say, it's the best pizza crust I've had since going gluten free! I almost couldn't believe it. The toppings were great, and it wasn't too dried out from not having cheese, absolutely perfect! The staff was very attentive too!

Being back after 2 years due to world complications. I was very excited that Pastoral was just as delicious as it was when I first had it years ago. The service was fast and articulate. To be able to be so efficient during a weekend when a trade show is in-town is a very great trait. Keep it up!

  • 4/5 Ari R. 2 years ago on Google
Good pizza, although personally I think the crust was a little too sweet. A proper pizza crust should have enough flavor without needing to add very much sugar if any.

  • 4/5 El T. 1 year ago on Google
Reasonably priced pizza that came out the kitchen fast and it was delicious too. The cons are that the drinks are too small, like $8 drafts for about 10-12 ounces and the appetizers were too small for the price as well. Overall I recommend it if you’re looking for pizza and drinks

  • 5/5 Bronwyn S. 2 years ago on Google
Pastoral is such a hidden gem in Seaport. The atmosphere is so cozy and the food is fantastic. I usually opt for a pizza, meatballs, and an *on-tap* negroni. So cool to me to see on-tap cocktails. A good selection of craft beer as well. On weeknights, when I frequent Pastoral, it’s such a relaxing atmosphere and I’ve never felt rushed once. The bartender, Amy, is so warm and treats customers like an old friend.

I loved this place. Not only was everyone safe and doing well on cleaning practices, the food was amazing. The appetizers were great: there is a single garlic knot that is more like a calzone...and is just right to share. You could do a whole table of their appetizers and be happy, but that would be a mistake. The special of the night, the desserts, even the cocktail I had, was brilliant. Thanks guys for a great time.

If you want soggy pizza with random burn marks this is the place for you. My wife and I ordered a pizza and a salad and got something that made 7 eleven pizza look gourmet. We didn’t even get a salad, instead they gave us some sort of weird burnt bread stuffed with cheese and enough garlic to keep vampires away for 100 square miles. Go to Waffle House before you go here.

A very solid 4 stars. The pasta is very good but on the heavier side. The service is excellent. There is a very good local beer selection. The trillium begonia skies sour beer is a favorite. Tables are far apart so it is easy to have a conversation I have not tried the pizza but based on the bread Stix starter it is probably excellent. Affrogato dessert is yummy.

  • 5/5 Jiaren L. 4 years ago on Google
Leaving a review after eating from there multiple times and was overall enjoyable experience. The garlic knots were definitively worth trying out and the food options were all good. The pizzas themselves looks delicately well made and very flavourful. Staff were friendly and helpful overall. Don't make my mistake and eat their garlic knots cold tho - just don't ;).

  • 5/5 Joselyn C. 4 years ago on Google
I WAS going to give this place a 4 star review...BUT...after meeting Chef Matteo today, I swooned. The overall connection I felt with this Chef as he artisanally crafted my pie left my mouth watering and oozing wanting more. Now keep in mind...this was no supreme-all-the-toppings you can imagine pizza. Nay...it was the exact opposite. The simple yet robust..margarita pizza. The precision, craft and attention Chef put into this homogenous delicacy of dough, mozzarella cheese, fresh torn basil and the juiciest of all the tomato sauces there ever has (and will be) leaves me having withdrawals only hours after consumption. Needless to say I will be back expecting to see my beloved Chef once more.
