shockingly bad service. wait times for basic tests are appallingly long, this surely cant be safe to have long delays for vital tests. nowhere near enough staff to care for the patients. if the patient cant feed themselves, then the food just sits there, unfortunately experienced this first hand. medical staff seem to lack basic knowledge, things that they should be aware of from medical notes etc. discharged in a rush with worse several side effects from the stay, no medication given, no discharge advice given, just sent off in the hospital transport bus for us to have to work it out ourselves at home. the only people we met in the entire hospital that deserve any good reviews was the cafe staff and ward staff who delivered the tea and coffee, who were polite, friendly and compassionate.

It was necessary to visit A & E at 3am for myself, the care provided by the Doctor (Grace) was exceptional , the reception, nursing staff were all fantastic. the horrible part of the experience was listening to the loud constant moaning about staff all while they continued to smile and see to patients. Well done all, I'm very grateful for the wonderful service provided to me. 1st class care.

We couldnā€™t ask for better care. My daughter is in children ward 4a, and she doesnā€™t want to go home :) the care and compassion of the whole staff is overwhelming, they need more credit and recognition for what they do and how they do it. Doing their job is one thing but doing far more beyond the job description is another. Very greatfull to meet such an amazing team of professionals and lovely people ā™„ļø

Went here for a&e as I had shattered my upper radial (at the time I didn't know that) waited about 4 hours to be seen to yet there were people coming in with a cough or grazed knee and they were seen before me even though coming after. When I eventually got seen to the junior doctor who saw me didn't seem that interested, sent me down to x-ray where I waited almost another hour. I don't know if the staff operating the machine were briefed prior but the lady asked me to bend my arm and I said I physically can't and she then forced my arm to bend to fit on the table and I've never felt so much pain in my life I wanted to pass out. So after that I have to go back and wait to see the junior doctor again and he doesn't even tell me personally what's up I just overhear it it when he was talking to another doctor in the same room. Then he tells me it's just a fracture and sends me home in a sling. The next day I get a phone call from Mr Yewlett from the Grantham hospital who informs me I've actually shattered the radial so bad it was the wrong way round and need to get it seen to immediately. So I have to take another day off work cos I'm apparently booked in at Boston hospital. I take the following day off calling Boston multiple times and they have no idea what I'm on about. I didn't actually get seen to until 2 weeks time. The service of Mr Yewlett I have no issues, he went above and beyond multiple times letting me come in long after my appointment time due to communication errors. But ever time I have to deal with pilgrim Hospital I know I'm going to have issues.

BREAST UNIT :- I attended the the breast care unit. All of the staff there are so marvellous, I canā€™t praise them highly enough. They are all so very kind and caring from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. I felt the warmth of the atmosphere in that department, and I truly felt important. They showed exceptional care for me and my welfare. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I canā€™t thank them highly enough! A shout out to - Rachael, Dr Nair, Christine, Hayley, Anna (McMillan)ā€¦well, all of them really A & E DEPARTMENT:- I attended the A&E department after an eye injury. My observation throughout the six hours of my wait, was that the staff at the A & E worked tirelessly and efficiently to try to get the high volume of Patients dealt with, under, at times, some very difficult circumstances. When I was seen, the doctor and nurses were extremely attentive and caring. I did NOT feel like I was being rushed, but only that they were concerned for my well-being and that was what was important to them, so I have nothing but high praise for the work that they do. The Car park, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. Though this does NOT reflect on any of the staff or the hospital, which has been absolutely excellent! 5.6.23ā€¦Another appointment at the breast unit. What can I say, fabulous peopleā€¦šŸ’• Meenha, youā€™re a wonderful, consultant and I love being seen by you as you are so tender hearted and you always put me at ease. I canā€™t rate the breast unit highly enough! Oh , and some of the car park has now been given a new tarmac surfaceā€¦what a difference! Well done Pilgrim!

I have never thought, that I would ever give them 5* ( due to bad press , and not great reputation ) . But they have truly deserved that , from the moment I came , throughout examination, operation, and post operation care. My experience was really good , I have been dealing with very dedicated , and knowledgeable staff ,who also had lot of empathy and understanding.

I had a 4 nights emergency stay on the Bostonion oncology ward. Is it difficult to describe how marvellous this place is.The Facilities are just amazing each patient has a Private room, itā€™s own bathroom with patio doors and a garden to look over or sit in .The nursing and medical care was remarkable as were ancillary staff. Excellent care thank you.

My Grandad is currently in this hospital for a GI bleed and they seem more focused on making their own rules for his medication directions, changing medications when he has specialists for these and not treating what he came in for. And not to mention how DISGUSTING these nurses and staff treat patients. If you want to reach the head nurse or doctor- FORGET IT! Heā€™s had his Parkinsonā€™s medications changed with NO orders from his Parkinson doctor! Heā€™s not the same person as he was going in this place! As a nurse in AMERICA, THIS HOSPITAL IS A DISGRACE. I Donā€™t recommend sending your loved ones here. If I could rate it 0 stars, I would.

This place is an absolute nightmare, some of nurses are absolutely lovely and do an amazing job. Then you get the other spiteful ones, complaining about 3 people visiting a family member, a child and the parents, pretty sure it shouldnā€™t matter, no one even wears a mask so no excuse for Covid can be applied. The fact thereā€™s family members in a hospital and you can only have two. The nurse was absolutely rude, really not happy with this place, could have been much politer but the staff are so rude.

I spent 9 days on ward 9 after breaking my femur. The care I received was exceptional, the staff were lovely, caring, attentive and friendly. I went back this week to the fracture clinic and everyone was so courteous, friendly and smiling, it gave the impression that it is a lovely place to work

I cannot give any stars. We are waiting for a call from a 75 year old neighbour who has been in your hospital since 5.30 this evening to be seen. She had a really bad leg, sent to you by her gp, has had bloods taken and chest X-ray and at this moment no one has asked her about her leg!!!! Itā€™s now 11.30 pm and we are no closer to knowing what the heck is going onā€¦we cannot go to bed because we will have to pick her up. Shockingā€¦.

i was with my friend in this hospital with a suspected broken ankle, he waited for over 5 hours to be sorted. He had a really bad swollen ankle to the point he cant move or walk properly at all and all they gave him was a pair of crutches. personally we think he should have has sort brace or cast to keep the ankle in a stable position without him screaming in pain every few minutes. we understand its a hospital and many people go there but with how much pain he was in he should not have waited that long.

Never be an inpatient at Pilgrim. The nursing staff on the whole are very professional and empathetic, however some of the staff are argumentative, rude and unhelpful. As for the consultants and some of the registrars haven't got a clue when a patient is unwell, confused whilst in hospital, they refuse to undertake complicated Surgery when they know it is necessary. They guess most of the time as to what the patient has, they don't listen to family and they certainly don't take on board what relatives have to say. Our family member recently died in Pilgrim after many weeks in hospital and consultants not found anything! Our relative was sent home only to be admitted again some days later. Even the Coroner is not happy with the cause of death that the hospital have gave. Avoid the Pilgrim Hospital if you can

Walls in all areas needed decorating. Service very slow, I took my elderly mother in at 9pm we got sent to ECU, mum had her obbs done straight away, the nurse told us there will be some wait as they didn't have any doctors on, only 2 nurse practitioner we went to the waiting room, there was people who arrived at 1730 and hadn't even had their obbs done by 2330 no body had been seen. Mum didn't want to wait all night so we left with out being seen. I went into A&E department and the que was even worse. We had a terrible experience, no care at all.

Absolutely amazing experience this morningā€¦ my sons earring had embedded itself into the middle of his ear lobe and on arrival it was clearly busy with 13 hour estimated waiting time. However John a consultant on reception did it within 10 minutes now thatā€™s what I call service and a very friendly team on reception despite how busy it was.

We came to Pilgrim Hospital A&E department on a Tuesday evening as my 15 month old hurt her leg whilst we were on holiday there. She was seen by some lovely nursers and doctors, X-rayed and all information was sent through to our local hospital ready for our return and we were out within 4 hours with all the answers we needed. We returned the following Thursday to the Fracture Clinic to get her cast fitted and again, straight in and straight out. The communication between staff members concerning my daughter was unmatched. I've never experienced a more warm & friendly hospital visit. We are so thankful that everyone who saw us were so amazing with our daughter. Thankyou to everyone who helped us (and for gifting her the brave bear!)

The staff worked very hard to ensure everything was done correctly and patients cared for. Whilst building there isn't really space for relatives to come too. No real need, as the staff are so kind but I appreciate the benefits of them being there, help. As room is at a premium can the patients who have been told when a bed comes they will be staying, can they not be put into another room to wait? Not only would it free up space but also give them some peace as they need to relax. I do think the system is well thought out and works well. Sorry didn't understand your statistic board other than the patient's number went up and down.

Today l was really unwell and was taken by ambulance to this hospital. I spent 12 hours in the emergency department. I have nothing but praise for the hard working and caring staff throughout this department. From the moment l arrived to the moment l was discharged they treated me with nothing but Kindest, respect and care. They were thorough and did everything they could to find out what was making me feel so unwell. Thank you for looking after me.

As usual, I have been looked after very well. The hospital is having lots of building work done, so all is a bit messy. But inside the staff are fabulous and they have got me breathing again, so I'm a happy bunny šŸ° now.

On holiday in Skegness. Had some bleeding (27 weeks pregnant), had brilliant care here. Being monitored for 24 hours, baby been monitored, checked for infections, urine checked, speculum done and they're even doing a scan! More than impressed and better care than I've ever received at my usual hospital

I was referred to the Urgent Care Unit earlier this week and I don't think I could have been treated any better or that the care and staff could have done any more than they did for me. They were well organised and friendly and informative despite being in the middle of a crisis in the hospital at the moment. Every member of the staff kept me informed at all times of what was happening and when . There was even a point at 5pm when the team bought out tea and coffee and a sandwich for people who'd been waiting a while and couldn't get to a vending machine and some of the more elderly patients were so glad of this. I personally don't think they could have done more than they did for me. Thank you

5 stars today. I attended CT/Ultrasonography for a routine scan. The appointment was perfectly on time, and attended by a wonderfully bright, friendly and professional ultrasonographer. Done and dusted in 10 minutes and everything was explained to me. The NHS gets a bad rap - services are very stretched right now - but my experience today was exemplary.

Recently had a planned section at pilgrim hospital and the care I received from all of the staff from ante natal, theatre and maternity departments was second to none. A much more positive experience than my first birth at a different hospital, and I canā€™t thank the staff enough.

Absolutely amazing labour ward!! my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and Lincoln told me they had no beds so had my dad drive me 45 minutes to pilgrim and I couldnā€™t thank the midwives enough! helped me deliver safely, made sure I didnā€™t tear and made my experience as pain free as possible, breathed through contractions with me and nothing was ever too much, canā€™t thank Sian Hughes and the student midwife enough, INCREDIBLE!! x

It a decent hospital but needs to be revamped as there is a lot wrong with the building. Layout of the building is a problem. Lifts area always busy and crammed. Recommend not visiting at peak visiting times ie round lunchtime. The staff are normally great but they are overworked and underpaid for what they do.

Looked after wonderfully in ward 9,great staff from Sister Beth right through to the tea ladies, plaster crew and the theatre /trauma dept. The whole experience was 1st class and made everything a little less painful, thank you, Eddie

I was taken to Pilgrim A&E with incredible pain having injured myself playing tennis - turns out it's a torn hamstring. EVERYONE was exceptionally lovely. I first saw a medic called Andrew and a student nurse - they were charming, clear and so patient. I was then seen by a doctor called Guru. What a super man. I cannot fault these wonderful people who are incredibly patient, especially with incoherent, rude, impatient and unhelpful people (not me I might add!). Well done and thznk you.

I was at a&e yesterday 23/11/20 with an elevated heart rate. Although its strange because of covid I found all the Nurses, Doctors and Porters very pleasant and hard working luckily after tests everything was fine and I now have to see a cardiac specialist for more tests. They were also brilliant when I fell and broke my wrist and hip 2yrs ago. Well done Pilgrim Hospital!
