We ordered four items from the restaurant. Pakora was just full of gram flour, could not find a single piece of vegetable in it. The parata was nothing but a frozen one from the grocery store. Chicken had excessive amount of oil and spices. We only liked the uthappam and the host of the restaurant. It was our happy occasion but the dinner just ruined our mood. The food needs improvements.

Went here after almost a year for a Dosa night. Their dosa was definitely above average - sambhar and coconut chutney was good too. We tried the combo offer which comes with 4 different types of mini dosas, 1 Utapam , and 1 vada. The combo meal was definitely worth the buck. I personally liked their utapam and filter coffee the most. Service was a bit off possibly because of the crowd. Some people in my group had to wait really long before their order could be served. That's the only reason giving this place a 4 star, however when it comes to value for money - this restaurant deserves 5 stars.

2.5. Stopped here on the way to the Seattle Premium outlets with the intention to have a quick lunch. Around 2 pm or so on a Sunday - it was moderately crowded but we were seated immediately. After we ordered the restaurant forgot about us I think until we asked them 20-30 mins later when we saw folks seated after us get their food. The owner gave us some free rasam and mentioned that he did not forget about us but there is some order. Oh well. Coming to the food - we ordered medu vada - which was lukewarm but tasted alright. The masala dosa was slightly burnt and not the best. The rasam and sambar were decent. Might try this place again since the owner seemed quite apologetic about our delay but for now not something I would recommend for South Indian food fans.

Food was delicious here! I've been here a couple of times and each time the curries & medhu vada were less on salt; otherwise delicious. I'm planning to get the Samburna special dosa next time. Loved the freshly made Malabar paratha.

Nice delicious restaurant. We craved some Dosa and it was a good choice. They just need to fill the dosa with some more masala. However, we got a nice $1.99 8oz container on a side and wasn’t a bad idea I would say this is one of a great dosa that we had in Bothell area Overall experience is nice and definitely will get dosa again from them

Ordered masala dosa, mysore dosa and chili paneer. Mysore dosa was good, masala dosa was ok, see the look, but chili paneer was waste of money, I felt like they simply put the paneer pieces was mixed in tomato ketchup and added chaat masala. I only recommend if you wanna try dosa.

Samburna is a really good south indian restaurant in Bothell. I never heard of this place until a friend of ours recommended this place to us. We stopped by Sunday for a late lunch in a group of 8. We were promptly seated and ordered the following items: Appetizers: Paniyaram (amazing tasted super fresh served with a sauce which wasnt great and the sauce could have been better), Medu Vada (the best crispiest medu vadas I have ever had and loved eating it with the chutney and sambar), Mega Ghee Podi Dosa (delicious huge dosa which can easily be shared by 3-4 folks), Chicken 65 (tasty boneless chicken with spices kinda like chicken popcorns), Chemeen Fry (shrimp in a spicy dry sauce. This was delicious and the shrimp was cooked to perfection and the spices complimented the shrimp very well) & Chicken Chukka (this dish lacked seasoning and would have tasted 10 times better if it had a little more salt. This was a common feedback from all of us who had this dish. The spices were great but lack of salt sadly did not bring out all the flavors) Main Course: Melagu Kozhi Curry (chicken curry with amazing spices - pepper and red chilli), chicken chettinad & samburna goat curry. All the 3 meat curries were delicious, well seasoned, tasted amazing and the meat was cooked to perfection. I really liked the goat curry but seemed liked we got only 2-3 small pieces of meat while the rest was all bones. The chicken curries did have a good amount of chicken though. We devoured the curries with malabar parota (very fresh and tasty) and some steamed rice (served complimentary with the curries). The vegetarian folks ordered an eggplant curry (Gutti Vankaya) and paneer butter masala and both curries tasted great. Dessert: Gulad Jamun (fresh and tasty) & Mango kulfi (delicious but a tad too frozen - understandably so). Both the desserts had a rose syrup drizzle over them which was I think not required but thats fine Beverages: Madras Filter Coffee (amazing and one of the best filter coffees I have had for a long time), Majjige (buttermilk was good and tasted fresh) & Lime Soda (this was bad it was just soda and lemon not lime mixed and served with no salt or sugar or any flavors. Will not order this again) While we loved the food here, there were some dishes that could have been better but nevertheless we enjoyed our meal here. Service was okay - one of the servers was really good while the rest did not seem to care much but we got our cood out in a resonably good amount of time. My reasons for reducing a star - some meat curries having barely any meat for the price and lack of seasoning in some dishes and not figuring out how to make a simple basic lime soda apart from the not so great service. The majority of the food items we ordered were a hit though. I would recommend this place if in the area.

Living south of Seattle I don't usually make it up north regularly but have always had Samburna on my list of places to try. I'm finally glad that we made the trip to try it out and to itch my South Indian food cravings. For appetizers, we ordered the chicken lollilop, chilli paneer, medu vada and mango lassi. For entrees, we got the Mysore masala Dosa, onion dosa, melugu chicken curry and parotta. Every single dish was good but the dosa and sambar was alright. It could have used more flavor and spice. Surprisingly the parotta was really good! Almost similar to what you get in India. For dinner we got filter coffee and mango kulfi. The kulfi came out still icy and not soft, making it difficult to eat until we waited for it to get to room temperature.

Authentic South Indian delicacies!! We got the filter coffee , idlis, iddyappam with coconut milk, prawns masala and the fish curry. The filter coffee was hot and refreshing, the coconut milk was delicious and went well with the iddiappams. The sambhar and chutney with the idlis were fresh All tasted lovely and authentic and had the right amount of spice to it. Will visit this place again. Highly recommended!!

Loved loved the podi idly, sambar and ginger chutney. The other chutney was lacking flavor. Mysore masala dosa and paniyaram were freshly made, felt the dosa could have used some more spicy. Masala buttermilk was very good. Coffee was warm so was not very happy there. But would definitely return for some authentic South Indian tiffins, also tried their chili onion uttapam which was amazing

My go to place for south Indian food in Eastside. I love that serve delicious and consistent food Tried their Gobi65 (4/5) - spicy fried cauliflower florets served with a tangy tamarind sauce. It was crispy and yummy. I'm not a fan of orange coloring they use but I guess that's how it is made traditionally Rasam (3.5/5) - A huge punch of spice It had good flavor of garlic, tomato and spices but It was a really spicy and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who can't handle spice Masala Dosa (5/5) crispy dosa with potatoes served with sambhar (lentil soup), red ( Tomato and onion) chutney and white (coconut ) chutney

Visited Samburna after many years to have dosa night. Food was good, although wait time of 20 minutes to get food could have been better. Food was delicious. Not the cleanest of places, but not too bad either. Also, I was there around closing time, so can't really expect everything to shine! Visited again today. Slightly less crowded. Slightly quicker in getting ordered food (Dosa night). Service was better than previous time. Restaurant has ample opportunity to make the walkway (place between dining hall and restrooms) uncluttered. Proper screens to mask food preparation area especially (when it is not clean in guests perspective!) will be great.

I can’t even explain this place is too good 😋😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤 Must try: Crab curry, Baby corn pepper fry, idiyappam, parotta, Dosa Chicken lollipops: these are little oily but I liked it. Nattu kodi soup: wow too yummy 🤤 Very satisfied and I strongly recommend this place. Very good quality and thank you so much for not disappointing us with crab 🦀

My Indian girlfriend took me because South Indian food is hard to find here. Amazing dosas, great service, the owner came over to ask us how our food was.

Totally disappointed by the food we had. We were so excited so visit here as recommended by ours friends but came out disappointed. We ordered podi idly and 2 dosas, while the dosas itself were good, the podi idli was very very bad, as you can see from the image, this just did not look and taste like podi idli, it was like that the podi masala was just touched on to the idli and forgot to put inside, it just tasted like regular idli with slightest task of podi masala so please please don’t order this at all. The Sambhar also lacked salt and in no ways tasted like a regular Sambhar in South Indian restaurant and also the white chutney was very watery…. only good part were the dosas as they itself tasted good and the service was also nice.

Went here on a Wednesday, place does get busy after 7.30 but mostly everyone was quickly seated. Got he dosa buffer but was little disappointed. Mint dosa and podi dosa was good but other two weren’t great and masala sabji didn’t have much taste. Baby corn Manchurian was very strong on tomato ketchup taste. Paneer chettinad just has strong tasted of pepper Badam milk was good and so was the Malabar paratha Tables are very cramped up.

A hidden treasure 👌. One of the best India restaurants that I've I'm my life. This is a South Indian type of cuisine. Everything is delicious and prices are very reasonable but I'll pay a lot for their mango lassi 😋😋😋. Theis dosas are the best 💛

I recently dined at here and while the food was delicious, my overall experience was hindered by several factors. The restaurant had a cramped layout, making it difficult to move around and enjoy a comfortable dining space. The atmosphere felt chaotic and overwhelming, which affected the overall ambiance. Unfortunately, the waitstaff seemed confused and overwhelmed as well, leading to long waiting times and a sense of frustration. Although the food itself was tasty, the lack of organization and the cramped environment detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. I hope the restaurant can address these issues to provide a more pleasant dining experience for their customers.

Mega dosa is awesome. It's hilariously huge, and we get it every time since it's so epic. The texture is really good. The staff is friendly. Love it here!

We tried Samburna special dosa which is good but it won't be fitting in there serving plate. We are the last customer of the day so the quality of food reflects as Sambhar was cold as they added water to volume it up and potato filling was also less. I was bit disappointed with the taste. I recommend to visit this restaurant in a morning or daytime.
