First time at Damas (and first time having Syrian food) and it met all the hype! Easily one of the of the best restaurants in Montreal. The beet spread had the perfect amount of sweetness and the hummus was savoury and rich. Both paired so well with the bread! The octopus in the octopus salad was extremely tender which is rare in an octopus dish. The meat platter had good variety with the lamb chops being the standout!

Absolutely magnificent. Our server George was incredible, he was very patient explaining the menu in great detail and answering all the questions we had regarding the dishes. The food was incredible and every dish was cooked to perfection. The ambiance and feel of the restaurant was nice as well, the decor was very nice. I'm a huge fan of Damas and I will definitely be spreading the word.

Definitely a great place to try middle eastern food. We tried a few things, the cheese bureck and the lamb were AMAZING. Prices are high and I think this is the main reason not to give 5 stars. Syrian food and middle eastern food and hospitality is known to be generous welcoming and affordable. I realize that this is a high end place but it’s a bit too much. Also, if you choose to seat outside it’s definitely a different experience than sitting inside. The inside decor and atmosphere is way nicer. Outside seating is on regular plastic chairs which is not appropriate to a place like this and the decor is minimal.

Amazing restaurant. The ambiance, the service and the food is just top notch. Every dish we had was delicious. The grilled meat platter was our favourite, expensive, but worth it! We were two to share the platter along with two "entrees" and it was more than enough food. The meat was perfectly cooked, good portions and amazing flavours. The rack of lamb stood out to me the most. It was our second time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We wanted to start off the new year on a very high note. We had to see for ourselves if this very well-known and beloved Syrian restaurant lived up to its reputation. Upon entering, the decor and warm welcome set the tone for the evening and we knew we were in store for a treat! Despite their extensive wine selection we decided on cocktails for the evening. There is something for everyone. The hibiscus sipper gave us a light summer feel and the very herbal Aleppo Gin Sour was complex   creative and well balanced. As for food, the highly recommended Tasting Menu did not disappoint! It was a culinary experience that left us impressed with flavors, presentation, and impeccable service. Our first few courses were bite-sized but packed with flavor. It was followed by dips, fatoush salad, seafood selections and finally a beautiful variety of meats which were cooked to perfection. We finished off with a baklava selection for dessert. It is no secret this is very popular and also on the pricier side but we loved this delightful meal and highly recommend it!

My first time dining here. We didn't have reservations and managed to get a table for 2 just as they were opening at 5pm. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and calming. The waiter's and waitresses did such an excellent job describing what some of the menu items were. It being my first time my friend wanted me to try many different dishes. We got the mixed meat platter for 2-3 people, (we were only 2) and it was mouthwatering. Definitely a great plate for sharing. We also had the lamb dumplings, fried halloumi, lentil soup, fattoush, and the kunaffah for dessert. I have only one thing I could say, which isn't even negative. The kunaffah was a little dry. I think maybe their style uses a lot less of the clear sweet syrup. Everything else was absolutely amazing. Service was top notch. I love the brief description of every dish as it's being brought out. Keep it up! (Came from Ottawa for this)

Damas is located in the heart of Outremont. This restaurant is one of a kind. The best of the best restaurants in Montreal with delicious Syrian food and impeccable service. The prices are high but for good reason. Nothing compares to Damas, their food is fresh, delicious, and most of all memorable! Reserve 2 months in advance as it’s very hard to reserve but worth the wait!

We had the standard tasting menu. The best imo are the seafood dishes -seabass and fish cake. They had nice texture and good natural flavors. If I had to go back, I would solely order the seafood. The rest of the menu, while loaded with variety, wasn't very memorable. For example, the yogurt marinated chicken lacked punch and the lamb, while good, can be found at tons of restaurants. I also don't find the sauces complement the main elements. That being said, it was still fun to try out the sheer variety of quality offerings. I just won't be considering the tasting menu ever again.

Delicious food with larger portions then most high end restaurants. The meat platter is a good selection of things. Drinks are delicious. Quince sorbet texture was a bit weird. But the pistachio ice cream and everything else was excellent. Highly recommend the vine leaves and lamb. They were also nice enough to modify menu items to be gluten friendly when possible.

Incredibly tasty Syrian food! We had the tasting menu and they bring it out in chunks, a few courses at a time. Because of this, the pace is more frenetic than expected - not entirely unwelcome but something to know in advance. Of the dishes, the braised lamb and quail egg sliders were highlights, but the chicken was a real miss - far too dry and not tasty when compared to the other courses. The service was decent but a little below expectation for the price.

It is a very special restaurant, the decor is stunning, food delicious. We ate the pescatarian menu for 3 people, at $125 per person. It is perfect for a date night, staff is friendly, but prepare for the price tag, for me it was worth it for the overall experience. I loved the Mediterranean Sea bass, cooked to perfection.

One of the highlights of our Montreal vacation was Damas Restaurant restaurant. This is more than just a meal. It is a memorable experience. The aesthetic is stunning, the food is cooked to perfection, presented beautifully and portions are large yet fresh and healthy. You've got to try the fattoush (made in-house daily), oyster mushroom hummus, and melting sea bass. The wine list is extensive and has unique vintages. It has one of the best outdoor terraces in the city, and the interior decor is spectacular. Nonetheless, it's a very popular place and worth checking out, even if it can get expensive.

Absolutely a great experience. The tasting menu is comprised of 10 courses, and every course is delectable. The service here is incomparable. Definitely going to go back just to try their pescatarian tasting menu, and the meat platter. Absolutely worth the price.

Damas is my newest favorite restaurant. Everything was to perfection. The food is incredible. From the texture of the hummus, to the grilled veggies. It’s the tastiest food! It was so good and very good portions. The waiter was able to guide us through the menu and we did not regret an of the choices. The drink were also very good and the decor and ambiance were fun.

Very good overall, but a few comments. Food and service was very solid. My partner and I ordered the tasting menu with a few drinks. Obviously the restaurant has no control over this, but Quebec has roughly a 15% tax which adds up. The cost of our meal was $540CA, with 20% tip. The tasting menu was $185pp, which was VERY filling. We would have taken some food to go, but our hotel did not have refrigeration available. My critic of the meal would be that price is a bit on the high side, the portions seemed a bit large, and some of the dishes had too much overlap in taste and ingredients (I think 4 or 5 of the dishes used hummus or roasted eggplant as a base / sauce). Overall very good, we did not regret the meal - not sure if we would be in a rush to go back.

I was skeptical at first when I saw the price, since I'm used to having great Middle Eastern cuisine at a fraction of the cost. But I can confidently say that they deliver the goods for the price they charge. The bartender serving us was very friendly, offering great suggestions for plates to try, and made us feel at home. Everyone we interacted with was very accommodating. We had the fattouche salad, Kibbeh Nayyeh, Filet Mignon, Fattet Mozat, and Qatayef frit (which we couldn't finish after a very filling dinner). Every dish was flawless. Probably one of the best fattouche salads I've ever had. The Kibbeh Nayyeh had a great blend of spices and the cumin was a great touch. Filet mignon melted in your mouth. Fattet Mozat made me forget I was eating lamb (in the best of ways). Drinks were also very good. Great selection of premium bottles and very skilled bartenders. Very expensive, but the experience was worth it.

I can't even begin to tell you what we ate, but we ate so much we all wanted to die at the end of the meal. If you're a fan of hummus, grilled meats, fish, cheese pastries, fattoush salad, and so on, this place will satisfy you and then some. Everyone is so polite and wonderful and patient. My best friend took me to Damas for my Birthday and all I could say is this was my best dining experience in a long time. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left the building the service made us feel VIP. We took the Tasting menu and the Explosion of flavours is like nothing else you’ve had in MTL. The food is out of this world, but it is very pricey!

We took the tasting menu - obviously. EVERYTHING was perfect. Delicious and these flavors are out of this world. Everything just combines so perfectly.. I need to go back! Craving basically everything I had. I was so overwhelmed by the food that I actually forgot to continue to take pictures and I think that says alot!

I went with some friends , the food is not bad and the service is pretty good but we find that the mezze and plates where not generous at all , really Small portions for such expensive meal !!! First and last visit to the Damas.

The restaurant has a very Syrian design and it gave me an immersive impression. I walked through the inside of the restaurant to be seated at our table on the terrace. So I spent the majority of the time on their big terrace. It was very large with lots of space between tables. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty. We tried the Shish Borek (lamb) appetizer and it was delicious! The lamb was grilled very well and paired so nicely with their sheep milk yogurt sauce. It was a fantastic dish. It also came with ballooned pita bread. It was impressive to see. I would go back to this restaurant just for this dish.

The food itself for the most part was amazing and really tasteful except for the desert. The octopus salad was the best I have ever had and the fish and chicken main course was amazing. Looking at the menu you would think that the restaurant is very expensive but it is not. What you get in portions makes up for the higher prices. I will definitely go back.

Food was very nicely presented, but a little overhyped for what it was worth. Some dishes were a little too salty for our liking. Outdoor seating was nice and the service was decent. The hummus with lamb was the best dish out of all we ordered.

My friends really enjoyed their experience here. I found my experience mediocre. The items I ordered were under seasoned at least for my liking, although I will admit I do prefer a well seasoned and slightly salty meal, especially this type of food. Our servers were great. Food slightly overpriced for what it is, however they put a lot of effort into the dishes (lamb marinated for 48 hours, locally sourced great quality ingredients, etc, so maybe my dish was just uninspiring) My friends got the $240 meat sharing platter. They said it was some of the best meat they’ve ever had. So for this, I would highly recommend. I had Fattet Makdous. It was good but could have used some salt in my opinion. The tomato sauce with yogurt and pomegranate pieces was an interesting and delicious flavour combo. Overall it was an alright meal for me. Not worth the price for me personally. I did not finish the meal, took it to go, and was uninspired to finish it that night or the next day. Overall I do recommend coming here if you can afford to spend this much on a meal. I had a drink, appetizer, and a main, which with a tip brought my total to over $160. Pomegranate Cobbler cocktail was okay but I could have made it at home for a lot cheaper without the added garnishes. I am not trying to be rude at all but just be realistic about my personal experience. My friends said it was the best meal they’ve ever had in their lives, so it could just be a personal problem for me. Thanks for the great service and all the hard work you put into preparing these dishes. If I were more wealthy I would return here again.

Could not recommend this restaurant more. My husband and I have never had Syrian food before but decided to try Dana’s while we were in Montreal on vacation and it was both of our favorite restaurant we visited while we were there. We did the tasting menu and my husband did the wine pairing with his meal. The waitress was really knowledgeable about the menu and recommended substitutions where necessary for me since I am pregnant. It was excellent service, all the food we had was amazing (we left very full) and the sommelier was very friendly and professional. I definitely recommend anyone give this place a try, it was incredible!

This place is incredible, one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The portions are massive and every dish was a hit. Honestly I don’t know if you can go wrong. Service is impeccable. We considered the tasting menu but ended up ordering ala carte. I’m sure the tasting is worth it if you want to try everything but ala carte was cheaper and we were so full.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Montreal. The service, atmosphere, setting and the FOOD are just PERFECT. The portions are pretty generous so maybe consider sharing especially if you want to have starters and leave room for desert. My highlight was the baklava stuffed with pistachio ice cream! MUST TRY!
