Bar that sells food on the side. If you want drinks with old school bar smell and atmosphere perfect spot. This place understands revenue margins and knows it’s at the bar. New ownership has painted to make things brighter but still a bar serving drinks to pay mortgage and serving food to bring in folks that don’t know better.

Canyon Tavern is the perfect place to go if: you want to instantly feel like part of a close-knit, yet welcoming, community; you want to experience excellent service from fun and genuine staff; you want to nibble on craveworthy appetizers and deliciously satisfying entrées; you want to watch all the big games on their multiple screens or take in the stunning panoramic views from the patio or the wall of windows. It's truly a charming gem and we are looking forward to becoming regulars!

First thing is service was exceptional and the view is fantastic! My food was delicious and the wait short. I'll be back for sure.

Had the Ruben sandwich with tater tots on the deck. Really good. Sandwich and tots were the best I’ve had in a long time. Service was very good although a little slow. I’m sure do to being a little understaffed. Just more time to enjoy the sun and the view. Very nice staff and very nice view. Will surely be coming back. This is a 2 year update after new owners took over. Had the Ruben sandwich with tater tots again. A little smaller than before. Just as good however. Their water still tastes funky. All the water at the top of the canyon seems to have that taste. They really should sell bottled water. Sadly they don’t. Still a good place to eat and will surely return.

The restaurant itself is really cute and pleasing to the eye. It has a comforting feel and there's something about simply being there that's relaxing. The food was all good and the service was great. Absolutely plan on coming back.

Our server Johanna made sure that everyone was taking care of fast but also welcoming! The fact that she was the only server because the other server had just quit, she didn't let it affect her attitude. Johanna made our first time there enjoyable 😉

Decided to give this place another shot after it changed owners. The food was really bad before on several occasions, so we just stopped going. The menu is still very lacking and needs a full makeover. The food we did have was better than before. However, all the same stuff is still on the menu, but only half as much as before. No real dinner options. Just sandwiches, burgers, and a few salads. The service was okay, but not great. Atmosphere was bar crowd, and cold inside. Overall, it's maybe better than it was at one point, but really needs some improvement to be a regular stop.

Reuben sandwich was great and the tater tots were too. Lots of good stuff on the menu. Fresh and hot right off the cooker. Beer is cold cold too. Full bar is pretty stocked. Lots of TVs on both sides of the roomy bar. They have a screened in porch overlooking the trees and drop off and often have a live band. Lots of parking just off 72 and not far from Arvada.

Really love this place near Nederland. Fun motorcycle ride with special bike parking right by the door and fabulous views atop a hill crest. Old school vibe with local mountain folk. Reminds me of my favorite watering hole back East, now gone, Morris’s Grille.

The staff, food, and atmosphere were great! We arrived with a group of 7 and they not only welcomed us with open arms and put tables together but also got incredible service. It's the type of place I would love to be able to frequent more often. If you ever are in the area I would highly recommend stopping by for a drink or food!

First off, the service both times was very good. However on my second visit I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich with no pickles. Came out with pickles melted into the cheese so I tried to power through and just take them off but the whole sandwich tasted like pickles, so I sent it back. They were very nice about making a new one. However when the new food came out, most of the fries were gone from the meal, which is a bummer for a $15 plate of food. This place definitely needs to learn how to season their food and ring in/make food correctly. I've tried it twice and will not be coming back.

Service, food, view, - this spot is amazing!!! I took my mom last night because she wanted to find a spot to sit outdoors and eat. We got a burger, the cheese curds, and a salad. The burger was sooo tasty! Everything was, but that burger was next level. We had a younger guy as our server and he was very sweet and attentive. The other server with long blonde hair was also super sweet and returned my mom’s wallet to her when she accidentally left it behind. So glad she caught us before we drove off! Highly recommend this spot and looking forward to coming back!

I stopped by to grab some food and was pleasantly surprised to find veggie burger on their menu. It was great, and they have a super tasty ginger beer to go with it. I appreciated the attentive service a lot, as well as the nice view. Thank you!

Had to stop after a long drive through the mountains. Good food, good service, BEAUTIFUL views from the balcony. Definitely worth a stop if you’re by.

We live down the street from here and come basically every few days because everyone is sooooo nice! We just moved here and feel like we made a community! Did I mention they have the world's best tator tots!? Come for that, stay for small talk

Food was mediocre. We ordered the loaded fries and a cheese burger. The loaded fries were OK but definitely not loaded. They were $10 and only had cheese on them, no green chile as the menu mentioned. The burger was ordered "medium" but was really dry. For drinks, we had a soda that was nearly all syrup and an ice water that tasted strange. The waiter was friendly but didn't stop by to check in so we could mention these issues. I hope they take this feedback and improve.

Tried twice now and the food was terrible. The cloe slaw was old, brown and had NO dressing. Cheesesteak was just a hunk of meat, not chopped, and could not bite through it. The fries were the only good thing. Don't bother.

Food was pretty good, recommend the pretzel. Our server was a bit slow but they seemed a little understaffed. Like every place else. Parking isn't so great but the town is nice to walk.

Location and view from the patio were awesome. I wish they had a couple more vegetarian entree options and a little larger beer selection. With that said the servers were really nice and the pretzel bites and fried pickles I got were super solid.

Bad food, the ginger ale tastes like chemical mixed to it. Ordered coke, the server brought Diet Coke. The fries tasted strange, not sure if they were fried in lard. Service was bad too. We waited long for the drink, and the food was cold. The place may be attractive to people who likes loud live music and alcoholic drinks. To me it was not a family restaurant. We went there mostly for the location, and we don’t want to go there again. Totally disappointed.

The ride to get here is long but well worth it. The waiter consistently checked on us and pandered to our needs! My grandma had a nut allergy and the waiter was told before, but to reassure us when the food did arrive he took her tortilla back to make sure it had not touched anything nutty! The food is a little greasy, but hey I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries with ranch. As a man of Illinois who doesn't travel alot, the food and service was greatly appreciated. If I had a chance to come back to this little gem in the mountains I would! They also serve with vegan food and dietary food with drinks ranging from coco to canned cocktails!

Very tasty. Jalapeño margaritas very good. Bacon cheese tater tots fabulous. Going to be on our regular list.
