2 small pizzas for take out cost $62. Really expensive. Unique ingredient combination was just okay. Crust was great. $7.50 / slice not worth it. Even if price was half, still would not be worth it. Just my opinion. Maybe will go back one day to try something non-pizza.

AMAZING dishes and truly incredible, personable service. The burrata, red pizza, white clam pizza, and gnocco were all must haves! Very reasonably priced for the quality. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Boulder.

Disappointed after first 'dining in' here in a few years. The menu has shrunk, the wine got far more expensive, and the pizza was so-so. During covid we got takeout with a great salad many times, now it's gone. Some favorite pizza combos gone. $80/person for a pizza and a couple glasses of one of the least expensive wines is out of balance. Won't go back for a long while.

Flavors on flavors. Great ambience in the restaurant and the dishes were delightfully unique that Basta has its own flavor profile beyond just being Italian or Italian inspired. The plates are a little bit smaller than I would expect, so maybe going for one plate per section of the menu. Plus maybe one or two more plates in any given section.

Cool vibe, nice place. I ordered the smoked olives appetizer (amazing) and a friend and I each ordered a pizza with a cocktail to drink. You can tell this place prides themselves in carrying high end ingredients and that they want you to have an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, we were the second table seated and probably the first pizza in the wood burning oven of the night. It seemed the oven may not have been hot enough yet to cook our pizzas correctly. I ordered the "Peppers" pizza and it had basil on it, not the oregano the menu had described. We had leftovers, and to our surprise, our pizza was shoved and folded like an accordion into a small plastic togo box. Very odd. Don't forget the 22% "service fee", just raise your prices, that's tacky.

Starter salad was flavorful and generously portioned. Wood fired pizza was delicious and worth the wait. Calzone was ok but filling was not heated sufficiently due to size. Have a glass of wine and enjoy company. Outside dining pods were heated and covid protocols were in place. Would go back and try again.

Came back after ten years away and it’s still delicious! Robert the bartender was great and really the entire staff were fantastic. We had the fish dish, a little pricey but very good! My wife loves the smoked ice-cream.

Take out/pickup orders incur a mandatory 22% service charge. I understand needing to pay your staff but just put it in the price of the food instead of surreptitiously sticking it in the really small "tax & fees" line item after you've entered your CC and right before you hit pay in their online ordering system and no mention when you order via phone of the service charge. Wouldn't be so upset if I was told upfront, expected it and given the reason why they made it mandatory. Only in the receipt afterwards do they mention the mandatory 22% and the reasoning. May update after trying the pizza. Hope it's worth it.

The caesar salad, the pizza, and the half chicken were stellar. The chicken was some of the best we’ve ever had. The piada bread was delicious. The crudo was beautifully presented, but lacked the depth of flavor we hoped for. The oysters were so-so. The grated horseradish had one large, ungrated chunk in there that I had to pull from my mouth, which I wasn't expecting. The smoked olives were a delight with a taste that none of us had experienced before. Excellent. My cocktail was also beautiful, but I wasn't a huge fan of the taste and it was skimpy. The chicken liver mousse was excellent, though the accompanying focaccia was not outstanding. I didn't try the pasta, but was told it was "pretty good" by my dining companion. The lemon ricotta cake was disappointing. It was overly cake-y and just tasted kind of mealy or something.

Had a great first time dinning at Basta, the service was really great and all the staff was super attentive and friendly. The burrata app with the sourdough is a MUST. That was my favorite part of the meal. Also got the pepperoni pizza (which in my opinion had a tad too much sauce and not enough honey), a pasta dish and 2 desserts. Overall we will be back to try more items on the menu! I really love how the flour is all locally milled by the restaurant group, so cool!

Don’t sleep on Basta. One of the best meals we’ve had in Boulder. And we didn’t even try the pizza, which we hear is great. Best Caesar Salad in town. Just perfect. The Burrata and fresh bread are incredible. Also perfect. And the half chicken was perfect! A seriously fantastic meal. Donuts for dessert really good too.

We <3 Basta. My bf and I spent our anniversary there last night and were treated so well! The host was very accommodating to our last minute planning and was able to snag us seats when we called ahead. The food was amazing as always, and ya gotta get the burrata. The bartender made excellent cocktails and clearly put a lot of care into the drinks she made! Looking forward to more nights there!!

Lovely food, great outside tables and service. I especially liked the scallops, the liver and the pizza! Great place to order family style.

Update 11/4/2023: Adjusted my review! Came back yesterday and the drink sizes were more normal! Also I mentioned it to the bartender and she made the astute observation that I could have just come to her directly when the drink was too small to begin with, and she was right on with that feedback. The food and service of this place is great! I got the Caesar’s salad and the buratta . Both were out of this world. The Caesar’s had the perfect blend of lemony and salty and the Parmesan was shaved into super fine strands of cheesy snow. The burrata was served with a ball of fresh baked pizza bread from their wood oven and was amazing as well. It had whole chunks of garlic and cherry tomatoes and I couldn’t stop eating it even though I was stuffed. Why only four stars? My only complaint was that the drinks were criminally small. For 16 bucks I got maybe a 1 or 2 ounce cocktail occupied by a giant cube apparently designed to make the cocktail appear non-fraudulent. It was delicious but I just couldn’t get over the cheapness. I’ve included a picture of my drink after I had just the tiniest sip. You can see even with that massive cube the drink is only 1/4 full. Management - fix that and you have an unforgettable (in a good way) experience.

Went to Basta last night with my SO. We enjoyed it very much. It is comparable to Tavernetta and is deserving of its Bib Gourmand! We started with the Burrata and the Shishito peppers. The burrata was creamy, soft, and came atop a bed of sweet heirloom tomato jam? Coulis? It was very tasty and paired well with the mild flavor of the burrata, but the star was definitely their sourdough. Crispy, flake, soft, and airy. The bread was magnificent and perfectly complimented the burrata and tomato. The shishito peppers were well seasoned, maybe a bit overcooked as they were mushier than expected, but the charring and seasoning were on point. For our mains, we shared the Lasagna and half chicken. The lasagna was creamy, cheesy, and the sausage was herby and flavored well. The bechamel was also very creamy. The half chicken was exceptional for the crispy skin, however it was definitely a bit overcooked as the breast was a bit dry and rubbery. This was resolved by eating the chicken with the rice polenta and sauce on the plate. The green were seasoned well. To finish this already massive meal, we got the chocolate Budino which was reminiscent of a pot du creme. It was thick, creamy, smooth and the cinnamon works really well with dark chocolate. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here, loved most everything and will likely be back at least to try the market pizza!

Started with a cocktail which was hard not to finish immediately, so refreshing and a good mix of strong and not too sweet and citrus. I didn’t want to get pizza, but after seeing all the other pizza photos, obviously had to get the pizza. Did not disappoint! The pesto tagliatelle was delicious, didn’t want it to end. Feels like they change up their menu every so often, hope they put mussels back on and I will be back for those.

We came to Basta for the first time looking for good pizza that we could get to-go. We were immediately welcomed by the staff and sat at the bar while we waited. We sipped on lambruscos and talked to the bartender about the unique (and delicious) cocktails on the menu. This place has turned into our go-to spot and it is one you SHOULD NOT miss. Their bread is to die for, everything is fresh, locally sourced, and made to order. The friendly staff and laid-back modern ambiance is perfect. Basta should be the next spot you go when you're thinking about dining out.

Did not love it. Very difficult to find (tucked away in an apartment complex), staff does not answer the phone and only communicates via email. Limited menu, entrees are really spendy. Margie Rita pizza was decent but became soggy pretty quickly. Caesar salad was excellent. Prob won’t go again.

We loved the concept of many things on the menu incorporating the smoke flavor from the white oak that the staff pointed out when we were seated, super cool! The smoked olives were surprisingly interesting and delicious, the pizza was great and, as big Dry Storage fans, it was no surprise that the crust was A+. It was was also really nice to see the effort they put in to dampening noise. It felt like a lively space while still being able to hear one another. Minor negatives: The Caesar salad lacked acid/flavor, and there were not many vegetarian options on the menu.

I'm speechless so I'll be brief. The service here is superior. The food is exquisite and the drinks are savoy. The ice cream tastes like the beautifully decorated ambiance. The music was a little loud for our conversation but I probably wouldn't change anything else.

This is an outstanding neighborhood eatery. Simply, decor including white walls, tons of wood stacked for the wood oven, and clever lighting. The food is fresh and fun with wood-fire pizzas, seriously delicious and farm fresh vegetable dishes, and whole fish with the crispiest most gorgeous skin ever. Staff is super attentive but not overbearing. The 10 minute drive from Pearl Street is well worth it!

The servers were nice, the food was mediocre. FYI They charge a mandatory 22% tip. Also, I do not recommend making a reservation. There are plenty of tables and they charge a non-refundable booking fee of $1 which is silly for a restaurant like this.
