A beautiful place in South Boulder for half a day hiking. The difficulty level is moderate considering the steepness while climbing up. The view from the top is amazing and worth every drop of sweat. The path down is so scenic and easier. If traveling during Feb, having crampons is a must cause of patches of ice and snow. Summer hikes are recommended for early risers because of lack of shaded areas during descending.

It was about a 2 3 hr hike but I took my time as it was my first time so I wanted to enjoy all the views mount sanitas had to offer .. went on a Monday wasn't too crowded at all some people but still plenty of space. Trail was fair to say the least as I'm an experienced hiker definitely a nice incline that's for sure. Sights were beautiful heading to the top and once you get there... its scenic.. definitely worth the hike will do it again soon.

Great views but a steeper climb than I was expecting. We did catch the sunset on the way down which was worth it!

This is a perfect hike. At a good pace you can do it in an hour and a half, you actually reach a summit which has a great view, you can take the trail up and down in a loop so you don't repeat, it is a very nice mix of environments, and for whatever reason it is not crowded. If you go counter-clockwise, you come up the long valley in the middle of the photo towards the left before you begin an ascent that gets steeper as you near the summit. I only once or twice wanted to put my hands on the ground or a rock. The paths are very well maintained, although in a few parts you have to do some very light bouldering.

We did the Red Rocks trail off of the Centennial Trailhead and took that to Mount Sanitas. Really fun hike. It was intense though! We weren't from the area and found ourselves winded from the elevation. If you take it really leisurely you'll be fine. You can go up very high, we didn't make it all the way because of the weather but we spend a lot of time up there. Really beautiful. My wife was clearly a fan.

Well-managed trail with two loop options that are fun either direction you take. There is a bouldering area along the trail that’s easy to get to. Some good spots with views and little to no ice spring to fall.

This New Jersey-visiting guy took this hike unprepared for how the altitude change can affect you. My family and I got here yesterday thinking altitude-schmaltitude until taking this hike. While our Boulder friends warned us about this, I observed locals running up and down this trail with their dogs and thought this shouldn't be so bad, right? Boy was I wrong. The hike is designed well: switchbacks, steps, sign posts at forks, clear trails and oh my, what beautiful views. Pine trees are everywhere, prickly-pear cacti snuggle the rocky sides of the trail and the Rocky Mountains make this a wonderful hike to stop, drink some water, inhale the fresh air, take a photo and reflect. I give this trail four stars because it can seem treacherous and there are no markers to educate you about what you are seeing in the views and vista's. I've been on those trails and have enjoyed them more.

One of the scenic hikes in Boulder. This is not that lengthy but it is steep. Once at the top, you get to see the flatirons and boulder city like no other place. Worth your 2 hrs of time!

Bucky loves the snow, and so do we! We had a blast on this beautiful trail, and look forward to it again. This trail was super foggy when we hiked it, and you hike up quite a canyon. Bucky enjoyed looking out over the area and β€œpatrolling”. This trial is also part of the voice and sight program, which we are members of, so Bucky was able to sprint and zoomie around in the snow off leash, legally!

Great trail, but make sure you're wearing the appropriate shoes because there are small rocks and when climbing the steep climbs or going down, its easy to slip. Also, I wish the trail was a little more clearly marked.

Good place. Can see Boulder City. Not so long. But too many steps, my knee feels a little hurtful when I went back the parking lot. Not so crowd.

Great hike but be warned this is a very challenging ascent for inexperienced hikers. When it rains, this trail gets muddy but dries out quickly.

Very well-maintained trail to the top of the mountain! Plenty of stairs to climb, made of wood, dirt, and stone, as well as rocks to scramble up. Lots of apparent side trails to take in the sweeping views from Boulder to Lyons. And, plenty of rock outcroppings to boulder up for adventure and photos! I highly recommend it!

Awesome views and close to Boulder. Great place to hike in the morning before work. When I am in town for business I like this hike for an early morning adventure

This is a great hiking area, several loop trails, quite popular too. Expect mud, rocks, slippery areas if your goal is to climb the top. Lots of dogs too.

This trailhead was clean, well marked, and had adequate parking. The trail was tough, I didn't make it to the top, but it was a great hike. We started in the morning, trying to see the sunrise. It was a great experience, and I will do it again when I'm able to.
