    1) delicious coffee. And no up charge for alternative milk. 2) literally they were so nice and passionate, you can feel the heart in that place. 3) great ambiance, it’s bright, homey, colorful and a great new work spot. The upstairs loft type seating was very cool. 4) location- there’s literally no good and cute coffee shops in that area, so the addition is a great! Highly recommend!!

Thank goodness for this place. We live in Seattle and frequently come to Boulder for long stints. Finding good community coffee spaces is important to us. This place is exactly the kind of coffee shop wished Boulder would have for forever. The atmosphere/community, the food (amazing vegan options & and don’t up-charge for plant milks 💜🌱 ), The oat lattes are perfection - every time. The owners are freaking fantastic they know what’s up. Definitely going to miss coming here everyday when we leave….but soooo glad these folks have created a community space like this in Boulder and there is a space to come t to when we are back.

Absolutely lovely cafe. We accidentally came in 5 minutes before closing but the staff was so nice and still made me a coffee. They also gave us some free pastries that would have been thrown away otherwise! I wish I could’ve spent more time there because it was so cute and the atmosphere was amazing. The coffee was great too! Definitely would recommend stopping by!!

I have been going to January coffee for a year now consistently and the staff has welcomed me in a way that no other coffee shop ever has. This establishment is extremely vegan friendly and know their stuff when it comes to coffee. Its a wonderful vibe and the best coffee shop in Boulder in my opinion. Also side note, best vegan breakfast burrito I've had. ZERO DAIYA

This place was bomb! Looks like it’s pretty new and the owner is there sometimes making special drinks if you ask him. The burrito, avo toast, and blueberry financier is all great! The prices are very good too. I couldn’t believe the taste/$. 🔥 🔥 🔥

January Coffee is a true gem, located in the heart of Boulder. As a coffee aficionado, I was delighted by the quality of their drinks and the dedication of the baristas. On my first visit, I had an excellent cortado, both in taste and presentation, as well as a sparkling iced Americano, which the barista kindly crafted for me. January's owners John and Kristi started their careers in LA and have three decades of combined experience in the coffee industry. January is a dream come true and a labor of love, it's the result of their knowledge, passion, commitment and hard work. They surely didn't take the easy road. They created the shop interior with their own hands, making the loft space feel like one's cozy living room; they choose to be a multi-roaster, a rare find in the area, and have the much acclaimed Onyx as their house roaster. January offers two espresso (Onyx & featured SOE), two drip (comfort vs. adventure), and a small but well crafted menu of seasonal drinks. Summer drink Tangerine Dream is a rich, dreamy lightly sweet cold brew; Fairly OddMatcha plays fun with the classic strawberry and matcha combo; lately the delicious Sweater Weather proves PSL doesn't rule the fall season by itself. By the way I love these names. The baristas at January are a friendly and talented team. I've always felt welcome at the shop, and it's clear that they all share a love of coffee and a sense of camaraderie. It's no surprise that January has quickly gained a devoted following in the community and even received a Best New Cafe nomination in the Sprudgie Awards.

Wow!!!! Best coffee I’ve had in months. You can tell the employees care and put pride into their craft. Also delicious food… the almond butter banana toast was such a treat. Amazing ambiance and decor, and the staff is so friendly, welcoming and warm. I’m coming here every time I’m in Boulder!! New favorite coffee shop. :)

Coffee nerd here! The folks here are doing a fantastic job — they serve Onyx, Presta, and some other specialty roasters, and the Ethiopian drip coffee I had was extremely nuanced and sweet. Food and drink presentation is beautiful, the space is beautiful, and even the breakfast burrito was exceptionally tasty.

If I could, I would give more than 5 stars! Look at the incredible presentation of the coffees. It doesn't matter if it is for consumption here or to go - equally made with care and artistic flair! I had my latte made with almond milk and homemade salted butter caramel sauce. It is so decadent, it's dessert in a cup. Now moving on to the bacon breakfast burrito...what??!? As you can see, this is no ordinary flour tortilla burrito! Yes, the tastes and textures all blend perfectly into a mouthful of deliciousness! I will be back!

Probably one of the best coffee shops in the country. They use some of the best beans ever from onyx and dune, and also offer amazing non coffee roasters options like roasted matcha. The vibes here are immaculate and I’m excited to go back!

Best coffee in Boulder! Super friendly and knowledgable staff, light airy space with plants, a comfy couch and a great vibe. The pastries and breakfast burritos are delicious! They didn't charge me extra for oat milk and my friend planned to order a sparkling water with his cortado but they said it already comes with it (see photo). Highly recommend!

Delightful discovery hidden in a random shopping parking lot. Fantastic coffee; don’t miss (if they have it) the delicious rose cappuccino on the specials menu. Delectable, rich breakfast sandwiches and great work spots with tons of light on the second floor. Highly recommend.

Breakfast is served until 2. Great, natural light inside the place. Limited seating, outside is fine though. The vegan burrito is what my girlfriend and I ordered, along with two oat milk cappuccinos. Was $35 with tip. Good vibes.

Pretty good coffee. The people working here knows what they are doing. The coffee options are good. The pastries seemed nice but the croissants sold out quickly. Good parking and lots of tables to work. Will come back again.

Fast /friendly service, quality coffee, Remote work friendly! I am traveling and working and finding good coffee shops is a must. This place is away from the main drag of Boulder but not too far. The best part is the second level that takes you out of the hustle and bustle of people getting Togo orders. Highly recommend. Only complaint is that there are not enough plug ins for extended stays with low batteries.

Cheerful atmosphere, friendly people, low key music, strong WiFi, stronger espresso. Delicious food still available until 2. Exactly what I was looking for! 10 patrons, three beanies worn. Exactly who Boulder is looking for.

Truly a Seattle-tier coffee shop with Colorado community warmth. The owners clearly care about the local community and I feel good about throwing money towards their causes knowing that they're responsible stewards and pay it forward. Live plants, pride flags, and drip coffee samples really make me feel welcome here. I feel truly spoiled every time! Onyx is one of my favorite coffee roasters and finding a coffee shop in my backyard with their beans as the default expresso option and almost their entire line of beans available for take-home is a dream come true. The only "downside" is a sparse number of seating options with power outlets available, but this is not something I mind because it means there is usually a seat available since people aren't encouraged to linger here for as long.

Stylish cafe, solid vibey tunes playing, onyx coffee on espresso served with sparkling water and single origin batch brew. What more could you ask for. Great spot and attention to detail. Also greeted me when I walked in which I appreciate. Top notch!

I doubt they even need a review as word of mouth of this place is already really good in the coffee scene. This is the best coffee in Boulder hands down. Adventurous drip is great as is all their espresso drinks. Plant-based burrito that isn't overcharging the other options. Owners are absolute sweet hearts and they are cultivating a beautiful inclusive space. This place has my heart.

Always a great experience at January Coffee. Anything you could need from a coffee drink- hot, iced, seasonal, etc plus a simple but perfect length “breakfast” cafe menu. Great indoor space to sit, and a couple tables outside too.

This place is a vibe! From the baristas to the inter design and “wifi etiquette”. I loved the barista who made my matcha latte. She was hilarious honest and herself… makes me feel like the place is authentically itself inside and ours. The wifi did not connect to my computer and it seems to be the case for other guests. Most people were using their own hotspots. I like the idea of No wifi weekends! Overall a bubbly place. I came by around 3pm and it was 80% full but still felt spacious.

Fellow Barista review: I came at a busy time mid morning. Staff was friendly and patient. Got a cortado with the default espresso. Beautiful milk foam and swan art (which only very skilled baristas can manage. I definitely can’t do it). I can tell the espresso is quality, but I caught them at that time of day when it needs a bit of a redial and it’s too busy in the store to do it. Breakfast burrito was good. I’m happy to pay $10 for quality food. The amount of seating inside is pretty good, and most people are hunkered down working at a laptop so I asked to share a table with someone which was fine. Eventually I sat outside. Overall I’ll come back to try again to update my review. I desperately want to give them 5 stars.
