BEWARE
if
you
are
staying
in
the
dorms,
you
will
be
treated
like
a
second-class
citizen.
The
pros
to
this
place
are
its
location
right
on
the
TMB,
the
dorms
were
only
for
5
people,
so
not
too
much
noise,
and
it
was
nice
to
take
a
hot
shower
for
more
than
3-4
minutes
(we
had
just
come
from
the
higher
alpine
refuges
with
limited
water
supply).
Unfortunately
the
downside
to
this
location
far
outweighed
the
good.
The
first
aspect
that
was
a
bit
off-putting
was
that
the
people
in
private
rooms
got
to
sit
down
to
dinner
half
an
hour
before
the
people
in
dorms.
We
hadn’t
experienced
this
at
any
of
the
7
other
places
we
had
stayed
on
the
TMB.
Everywhere
else
we
all
are
together,
regardless
of
room
type,
which
cultivated
a
family-style
feeling.
Edelweiss
felt
very
segregated.
Apart
from
the
segregation,
the
owner
was
extremely
aggressive
and
rude.
The
breakfast
options
were
more
varied
than
the
simple
bread
and
jam
we
were
used
to
on
this
trip,
so
I
was
very
excited
and
took
two
small
rolls,
two
slices
of
ham,
two
slices
of
cheese,
some
tomato,
and
some
cucumber.
I
ate
about
half
the
food
and
found
myself
full,
so
I
put
the
rest
together
to
take
with
me
as
to
not
waste
it.
On
my
way
out
of
the
dining
area,
the
owner
stopped
me
very
abruptly
and
asked
me
to
pay
extra
for
the
small
amount
of
food
I
hadn’t
been
able
to
finish.
I
explained
I
was
full
and
didn’t
want
to
be
wasteful
and
he
insinuated
I
was
lying
to
him,
saying
“well,
a
lot
of
people
say
that.”
While
I
understand
that
there
may
be
people
doing
this
trek
who
take
advantage
of
the
breakfast
bar,
I
had
barely
eaten
any
food
and
don’t
think
that
harassing
your
guests
is
the
solution
to
that
problem.
I
told
him
I
didn’t
need
the
food
as
we
had
plenty
for
that
day
and
offered
to
leave
it.
It
was
then
that
he
got
very
aggressive
and
said
extremely
rudely,
“what??
You
don’t
want
to
pay?”
After
I
reiterated
that
I
really
didn’t
need
it
and
was
just
trying
not
to
waste,
he
rolled
his
eyes
and
said,
“fine,
you
can
leave
it
on
the
table.”
I
was
really
quite
shaken
by
this
experience
and
haven’t
ever
been
so
poorly
treated
in
any
of
my
travels.
I
don’t
think
the
comfort
of
this
location
is
worth
the
terrible
treatment.
