Highly recommended. Great good and good value drinks. Plenty of room and good seating areas. Thanks for a fabulous afternoon

Loved the back story with the grave in church opposite with Percy shelleys heart apparent buried with his sweethearts, food and drink cheap and cheerfull, dance floor for the more energetic, and the best pub sign I have seen.

Proper dump. All of the tables were filthy and empty glasses were left on many empty tables for over an hour near me. It took forever for me to get my drink and food after ordering on the app (at least 30 minutes). Steak was edible but not great quality and there was definitely not care put in to making it medium rare. Ordered another drink and that took 20 minutes to arrive too. Seriously needs to up its game as it was terrible today.

Bournemouth, Nill by mouth more like. Ordered the large breakfast, bacon hard inedible sausage black and hard, toast cold as well as the hash browns. A positive I had my money back. The worst Spoon's in the country. Unfortunately I have to give it a one Star. Zero for me.

Overall a good time had there was the usual rough crowd that can frequent spoons which ruined the atmosphere a bit, but the staff were very friendly and the food and drink was the usual good quality and value you would expect. So it was worth coming in if in passing just might be a bit rowdy depending on who is frequenting the place but this could be said about a lot of places.

I'm a recent convert! I visit most weekdays for a late lunch - the meal deal is £10.37 (until 5pm) for a hot meal and a pint of Stella. Amazing value! Fish n chips is superb every time. I like that you just find a table, and order from the app. Service is quick. Small tables by window are perfect when ur on your own, can mind ur own business & watch the world go by outside. I've never been bothered by anyone, customers mostly older, and it has a relaxed atmosphere. I cannot see any reason to pay almost double for drink/food at any other pub!

Me and my friends were having a lovely time with the lovely staff working. All of a sudden a really rude server called Millie comes over and starts being blatantly rude and sassy towards us. Accusing us of things we did not do, and the other tables around us agreed that it never happened. My friend asked her for a refund and she starts mocking the words she was saying. We were talking to her nicely but she was being incredibly rude and unprofessional, definitely not how a staff member should act. She was pulling nasty faces at us and trying to start an entire argument over something that she knows did not happen. Will definitely not be going back.

Great place with a lovely staff. I’m particularly happy about the possibility to order some mini dessert. Less calories, cheaper, lots of pleasureeee. And the offer « unlimited coffee all day long for 1,50£ » is really enjoyable! I don’t have tried other dishes yet but will do it asap!

We arrived for breakfast, and the place was lovely and peaceful. Our breakfast came out, the presentation was lovely and it was perfect. Very tasty and nothing left on the plate. Staff were polite and quick to respond to to me waiting (next one to be served) and jumped on the bar to take me order.

The app is great to use, however my ultimate burger quickly went from warm to luke warm in a short time, so forced to eat it as quickly as possible. Great service by staff, but place was packed on a Saturday evening & full of mostly 18-25s. So being of an older age group we felt out of place. I don't think we'll come here again & actually last visited this place a year or so ago & had forgotten what it was like. More likely to go to the Moon in central Bournemouth next time, where usually more relaxing & enjoyable experience.

Comfortable, clean and nicely spaced out tables. Not overly busy. Food and drinks brought out quickly. Nice staff . Great menu

Large venue. Same as most weatherspoons, good value and polite staff. Food arrives quickly even when busy. I think portions could be a little more generous hence 4 stars.

Dropped in on a Saturday lunchtime, and it was very busy but managed to get a table for 5 people. Had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Ordered food and drink using the app, both of which were delivered in a timely manner and the food was good and hot. Good atmosphere with a mix of couples, male froups and families with small and older children.

Very nice vibe to this place. Lots of young people out enjoying life. Love it. Town has the xmas market on. ST Peters across the road. I did look properly into the history. Mary was born in London. She had started a relationship with her soon to be whilst he was married with a child at 16? More than likely she lost her viginity on her mothers grave stone. Her sister fled with them, fell for Percy and commited susicid when he chose Mary over her.Percy's wife had comited suicied a couple of weeks away from giving birth. He was only 21. They had children but only one survived to adulthood. Did the book come about from an idea from a party in Swiz because people robbed graves to operate on. Who knows. Mary died from a brain tumor, age 54, in London. It was her son who moved her body to a town she never visited. Anyway, great friendly pub. Plenty of parking in town. Loved it, back soon.

I travel a lot and have visited more than 20 pubs of the Wetherspoons chain in various cities over the past couple of years. This is the worst of them. Very noisy, incredibly loud music of poor quality. It is impossible to talk even with someone who is nearby. The food is not delicious. Dinner is ruined. However, I want to mention the excellent work of the waiters. Clean tables.

Recently, at Weatherspoon Gatwick, I had one of the best pizzas I have had. I ordered the same variety here. The worst pizza I have ever had. My colleague had an average all day breakfast. Last time we visited it had been good. Cleanliness had improved, bar staff first class. Serving staff varied from good to indifferent. Beer very good and exceptionally well priced but with the food quality I cannot give a higher rating

My wife and I popped in for a quick drink on the way home from a nearby restaurant. All the young people in there certainly brought back a lot of good memories. It seemed to be a little short staffed as we stood for some time before being served at the bar. It didn't take us long to find a nice window-side table which had just been cleaned. The atmosphere was decent, well lit and we enjoyed a good conversation. We always find ourselves stopping by The Mary Shelley when we can.

Whoever cooked the steak this noon, Thank you, you’ve made my day. I know the quality of the steaks in spoons all depends on luck, but this time it’s different, it’s more than perfect, it’s wonderful.

Drinks were weak and 90% ice, food looked anemic. Service was about as good as one can expect for a busy Friday night, so absolutely no faults there. DJ needs to keep themselves in check and stop cranking the music at random intervals though! Stayed for just over an hour and the music constantly went from loud to louder. Headache inducing. The drinks get you drunk, eventually, not much else to add. You don't visit a Wetherspoons for the class and ambiance.

Great Wetherspoons, food was reasonably priced and the family loved it and drinks were excellent value. The area we sat in was family friendly. Staff were very friendly and table service was swift. Highly recommended.

The usual 'spoons mix of good food & drink at more than reasonable prices. Bar staff etc. well on the ball, as ever. They do have music starting at about 8.00 p.m. which was a bit obtrusive to us "old codgers", but all in all cannot complain.

One of the best pubs in Bournemouth. Love the food in there, the costs are average. I will give it 4 stars just because the staff can be rude at times (I mean, not rude but not very nice and welcoming) and it's not always very clean inside as one would expect from a pub/restaurant. But yeah, definitely in my top 3 because the food is absolutely fantastic. Love the chips especially and the way they do pizza. Compliments to the chef!

Better than usual spoons. Chicken burger which comes in precooked was actually ok for a change and not too dry. The mini brownie on the other hand was revolting. Never managed to find a decent dessert at spoons so don't know why I bothered trying it. Always have brownies at brewers fayre and hungry horse and really nice but spoons one as well as being tiny and more expensive, just gave me horrendous acid.

Very disappointing visit there last night. I was refused service after only having 2 pints. I tripped on the steps inside so stumbled a bit but had only had 2 pints. The bar staff then refused to serve me. I explained I tripped while carrying empties back and they accused me of being rude to staff. Totally untrue unless asking where the cutlery was is deemed rude. Luckily the Moon On The Square provided better customer service afterwards. I met a local in there who wasn't surprised when I told him what had happened.

A good place to go before going on somewhere. Good selection of beers, wines and other drinks.

Visited yesterday evening. Extremely busy & very noisy. Food excellent. Staff very pleasant Cleaning away service best I have ever experienced in any Wetherspoon pub in 10 years.

Good food, very tasty, cooked just right. Service was easy from the app, and food was brought to the table quickly. Went after being refused entry at 7Bone because one of our group was blind and had a guide dog. (BTW it's Illegal to refuse entry to a registered assistant dog). Wetherspoons was brilliant, weren't concerned about the guide dog, and welcomed us. Really made a bad situation much better.

Had a very nice meal (above normal pub standard). It is a little bit tucked away but that's ok if you don't want overcrowding. Table service was quite quick.

Bournemouth has amazing wetherspoons and this one is no exception. My boyfriend and I just popped in for a tea while waiting to catch our train back home and the atmosphere was lovely, decor was nice and the ladies loos were the best I've seen, super luxurious if one can believe. If we come back to Bournemouth, we'll definitely be popping back in!

Nice atmosphere. Not too busy, plenty of space between tables. Food delivered quickly and tables cleared efficiently. Area light, tidy and clean. No loud music-heaven!!

Arrived from Reading on the train for the day. Heavily bandaged so used my little mobility scooter. Staff were great as the pub is split into halves and they advised me where to eat and drink in a great air air conditioned area. Great drinks and food. Recommended.

Very great pub in centre of Bournemouth. Great layouts including outside sitting area on 1st floor and food and beer was grate as its Wetherspoons 🍻👍 This is my review update: Look at the photos I've added as I found Skinner's Brewery from Truro Cornwall at a "The Mary Shelly", Bournemouth Town Centre Wetherspoons and "The Quay", Poole Wetherspoons which is a fantastic brewery and so if seen you will so enjoy it. Skinner's Brewery is absolutely amazing. I did visit the brewery in 2019 and really enjoyed going round the brewery, drink good number of beers etc and bought T shirt and great plastic glasses. If I visit Cornwall I would definitely try and visit the Skinner's Brewery
