Shower was Ancient. Walls had bubbles in the plaster and paint. Couldn't park under the carport outside our room because the washing slash towels were drying on the clothesline. Breakfast was ok that was served. The whole place could use a complete renovation inside and outside. Location is great and price was reasonable. Good view of the ocean.

Great, little motel. Straight across the road from Gordon's Beach. Took the kids for a walk along the beach and found lots of cool creatures. Pet friendly. Owners lovely and welcoming.

This is a great motel with the very BEST food served. Despite being on the highway, you cannot hear the traffic at night. The rooms have everything you need to be comfortable, they’re clean and airy. Pets are welcomed. The view of the northern Whitsunday Islands at sunrise is spectacular. Stop here for a night or 2, you’ll be pleased you did.

OK it is pet friendly however all I could smell in my room was wet dog. I almost got carried away by fleas and fruit flies. The decor is stuck in the 70's. Let's not forget trucks going past all hours of the night.

Dangerous barrier which was a safety hazard for me in the night. I did not have a dog. Would not stay here again. One piece of fish I was going to be charged $25.00 so changed my mind. Had everything I needed for the night. Was going to stay 2 nights but definitely would not stay. It was on Bruce highway and beach was over the road which you couldn't access. I was wakened at 7am to guys on the roof screwing and hammering. Not happy.

4.8/5 Finding accommodation for a dog is not easy, but rest assured Ocean View Motel is the perfect place for your dog! The room is nothing special but definitely value for money. Very quiet surroundings even though it is on the Bruce Highway the traffic isn't disturbing. Having your car right by the back door is a bonus. The bed was comfy and towels were changed daily (we have experienced that this doesn't happen everywhere, same with emptying the bins). Col and his team are so easy going and apparently they do home cooked meals (which I hear are incredible). WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND this motel for you and your dog! (We stayed for 5 nights).

We stayed here twice. The first time as our only rest between Mareeba and Hervey Bay. It was pleasant and allowed our happy pup to stay with us. So I booked it for our return trip 2 days later. After having spent 12 hours on the road, it was a very welcome rest stop. But, on top of that, they offered meals that were home cooked. That was exactly what we needed after a whirlwind 2 days down and 2 days back Hervey Bay drive. We so enjoyed our beautifully cooked meals! A deeply felt thank you, mahalo, to the chef!

What a little gem this place is. Great food, service and clean rooms with a gate in room to seperate the dogs onto a tiled area. Has its own dog park too!

We stayed two nights at the Ocean View, rooms are very dated and the area that pets are allowed in is very small. The pool seemed to be full of algae and we weren't able to swim.

Five stars because it was perfect for my stay. I just spent a week here with my little dog. The room was very clean and comfortable with lovely quality bed linen. Col, the owner and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Older motel but very roomy and undercover parking at the door. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The view from the patio is great and overlooks Bowen harbour and Gloucester Island. This motel has most of the 5☆ things that higher end motels have such as shampoo, conditioners etc and even has a bible (nice to see as they are now being discontinued in most motels). The showers recess could probably be updated as it is still 1960's.

Value for money. Great service. Clean & tidy. Real milk on arrival. Good location for getting back on the highway. Room had a microwave, kettle & toaster which was perfect for my short stay

This motel was fantastic. I was traveling with two dogs and the staff were very accommodating. The rooms were super comfortable and the food was lovely. They also had their own dog park which was was super convenient. Can’t recommend this place more.

Best place to stay in Bowen ! The owner was very accomodating, the pet friendly room was clean and huge in size. They also have a fenced area for your dogs to run around off lead - amazing.The view from the room is of the ocean across the road and being next to the big mango is also a perk. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had eaten and were looked after. The owner gave us two of his home grown tomatoes upon our arrival and they were delicious. We will stay here again on our back through. Great value for money.

The hotel was excellent for people with pets, the view is outstanding and the staff friendly and very accommodating, I have stayed in many pet friendly hotels with two extra large dogs and it is one of the best I have stayed Thanks Col and staff

We were so disappointed to how the rooms looked on the website and how they looked in reality. The shower didn't even have a door on it just a shower curtain and we rented the family room that sleeps 5 (number 12) They had a baby gate fitted that I walked into during a loo break in the night which left a black bruise on my for days. The ironing board was broken and useless and the iron stuck to everything. My grandson slept on the top bunk and kept complaining it was itchy. The air con is over the door so everytime you walk through the doorway you got dripped on. All in all we left there disheartened and upset that we had spent $150 for a false advertisement and we will never stay there again.

This Motel was clean and comfortable and whilst not particularly modern, was great for our dogs. It has a lovely big grass area out the back of the pet friendly rooms and that's far more important than the bells and whistles to us.

Pretty setting, with ocean views and pool. However the room we had was stinky, dirty and in need of a good clean and reno. Also had lots of ants and bugs inside and cane toads in the car port. Won't stay here again.

Such a beautiful place to stay our room was spotless and clean, beds were so comfortable all rooms overlook the pool and ocean, the owners were so nice and accommodating. Everything from check in to check out was a breeze, I would highly recommend.

Not very good because the place is in need of renovations, the bathroom still had mould around the aircon was not the best maybe because its a pet friendly room and that's all it is a room. If you like cane toads there is heaps around. We would not stay here again. No photos because we arrived at 7pm one good thing we could check in late.
