Great park, it is open! People just don't realize you have to go through the park next door to get to it. Wonderfully maintained trails with diverse plant communities & many sand pine stands. Plentiful gopher tortoise throughtout the entire park. Use the google maps bicycle path plugin to see the trails, they'll all show up. Trails are less well maintained down towards the lake but still worth the trek. Only complaint is that there's still a lot of trash left over from ranching & an incredible amount of glass & ceramic along the perimeter trail with the antenna station. Directions to access: park next to playground at Stephan Wortham Park, follow the trail to where the red blazes start, that's the begining of the red blaze loop, the shorter of the two, then proceed to the blue blaze trail that takes you to the East side perimeter trail & loop back.

Saw lots of wildlife. Decent shade.

One of the best trails in the hillsborough Paul system of nature preserves. There are no facilities at Rhodine and access is via Steven J. Wortham Park. To gain access there is a very easy short stream hop, a child can handle. The trails are 60/70% shaded but still remember to bring your water and bug spray. Despite being DecemberThe mosquitoes were still out just not that bad. The trails are very flat in compacted and easy to navigate and walk through. You will go through pines oak Forest and scrub oaks. During our visit we didn't see any type of wildlife which was a bit disappointing.

Awesome nature preserve with 2 hiking trails. The longer trail is a moderate 1.7 hike, and the second trail is a moderate 1.4 miles long. The preserve is part of the Hillsborough county Hiking Spree program. If you're participating in the 2020 Spree, you have to complete your required 8 hikes during March. Bring water, mosquito repellent as well as waterproof hiking boots. Facilities available. Nice place for a family to complete a hike...

Excellent preserve and natural hike. Feels very fresh to have a walk/jog within this woods.

A bit tricky to find the entrance, but it does exist and it's quite nice

I often go there to practice my music without disturbing anyone. the people you come across are friendly and generally Mind their own business And Respect other peoples space. Quite peaceful.

Be careful you might be late getting out of here but if you meet a turtle he doesn't belong to me to take a pic and leave him there. Also you might see some pig,hog or a man and woman who own them. Otherwise have a good day.
