The cafe looks lovely and quaint. Well, looks are deceiving and what befell me next is what I’d call the great baked potato tragedy. Two tiny spuds (McCain’s microwave ones are bigger), total cost. £8 with tuna and coleslaw - the spuds were burned to a crisp. I know the lady knew this as she split them to add the fillings, and she still sold them! Not sure how you turn spuds into rocks, bonfires have yielded better results - two cute small potato’s who never got to fulfil their destiny, instead they became coal. Nearly took my teeth out as I’m not one to give up without a fight, alas this was a lost battle, the poor fork also went to plastic heaven.

Absolutely shocking, I went in for a bacon buttie.....didn't even get served cos I have a different skin and a different approach, a bacon buttie is a bacon buttie, unless your white and talk like you've come from the south or you just don't want black people in your shop....what a shame this place exists in the "modern age" ....

Asked for a well done bacon sandwich with runny yolk. Felt like I was putting the staff out, the women anyway, a young boy was quite pleasant. Sandwich took a while to come, which I wouldn't mind if it was worth eating. The bacon was like concrete and the yolk wasn't runny but the white was 🤮. £5.85 for an inedible sandwich and drink with poor customer service.

Went in to day order cheese salad sandwich, spinach feta pasty and a scone. The scone was hard, stale and dry. I would say fair few days old.. lovely bakery other wise.. just keep your eyes on the expiry time on the food guy's.

I was served by a very rude lady. She stopped listening to my order mid sentence so she could listen in to what another member of staff was talking about, I had to repeat myself and was met with very blunt replies to my questions about the product's. She used zero manners not even please and thank you when taking payment. I am autistic and was made to feel extremely awkward by a very rude member of staff. Food was very good although for obvious reasons I won't be returning.

I got given undercooked sausage rolls several times, really slimy and chewy felt like eating a slug with bread crumbs on it

A Yorkshire curd tart is a thing of great beauty. And great taste. So just imagine two of them... I had a Yorkshire too - surely the finest pasty I have ever eaten. From Salts Village Bakery, Saltaire. Moreover, an emporium of delights from @GrandmaWilds Handily located to the right of Salts Mill as you look down onto the town, railway and allotments from the Mill.

Top notch, call in here if you're riding on the canal. There is a very small park opposite, great to eat your sandwiches in.....

Lovely pasties made in store. Soft fluffy loaves of bread, fresher than Melvyn Davis as it's wrapped in plastic bags.

Great to find a good selection of pies! Difficult to find a good pie shop since we moved from Lancashire!

Great local bakery with typical Yorkshire cakes. Small number of tables inside.

Had two steak bakes never again. Mine, the pastry was soggy and greasy and the steak was missing! Absolutely tasteless. My partners steak tasted and looked like cat food. We both didn't eat them. Absolutely disgusting. Overpriced. Should rename the place, the cat food bakery.

I ordered a large turkey salad sandwich, the lady on the till used her bare hands to throw it together without any hand washing before or after. Even when she has been handling money and whatever else before she made it! The rest of the cooked food was spot on and zero complaints very nice! lovely location just let down after watching the food been made…

Best place to eat in saltaire! Large portions, amazing prices, both sweet and savoury options, and most importantly really lovely staff. Highly recommend if you’re visiting salts mills - skip their long restaurant queue and come here!

Myself and friend had the BLT Bap with Mushrooms Very enjoyable as was the coffee which I had. Not cheap but quality never is, plus the ladies serving never stopped smiling. Will pop in again next time we are in the area, etc....

Breakfast sandwiches were a bit disappointing this time, but the various bakes and cakes are nice

Extremely over priced for what they serve. Bog standard sandwich a coke and a vanilla slice... £8?? Get over yourselves. You are no better than a greasy spoon.

I work on the same street, so unfortunately for my health goals, I'm unable to stop myself visiting this pretty little village bakery almost every other day, especially with their range of goods, quality and prices. It's no wonder there's always a queue of customers leading right out the door and onto the pavement every day at lunch!

Called in for Sausage sandwich and an egg sandwich. 1 tea & 1 cappuccino. Walked down to Roberts Park to eat. My sausage was obviously yesterday's re heated black burnt and stale. Tge cappuccino had a tea bag in it. Not difficult is it. Shan't be calling again

Mold on the Chocolate croissant at the bottom. Didn't released till I bit it that the croissant tasted off. Took it out of the bag and saw mold. Went down to let them know- they said it was from the bottom of a box and gave me a refund. Please check products before handing them to customers. Would not be getting a croissant here again and maybe not other food as well.

Nice selection of hot and cold food, pasties, sandwiches and sweet creamy pastries. There's usually a line out of the door, but it moves fast. Been a customer for years and not much has changed since the first time I entered their door.

Hit and miss on service Some days I go in and all the staff are too busy chatting for a while before they offer service Other days service is a bit quicker

Arrived at 1.40 on Saturday order 4 hot sandwiches. Was made to feel like we was putting the staff out a little due to the time as the time was mentioned before they agreed to make them. Sandwiches themselves where nice.

Amazing bakery! I’ve visited before and had their curry pasty and it was absolutely delicious, especially if eaten warm. The cakes are SO nice too, I had a cream Apple turnover yesterday and it was absolutely delicious, I was that full I could barely eat for the rest of the day. It did used to be a little cafe as well but because of Covid they’ve taken that part away, probably a sensible decision as their isn’t actually that much room in there.
