Taberna Belga in my opinion serves the best francesinha in Portugal, surpassing all others. Taberna Belga has two locations, Taberna Belga 1 and Taberna Belga 2, which are located a short distance apart. Both restaurants are owned by the same proprietor and offer the same high-quality Francesinha The quality of the food is exceptional, with both the regular and vegetarian options being incredibly flavorful. I personally find myself choosing the vegetarian option more often, as it has a smooth texture. The sauce is the standout component, as it is thick, spicy, and has a delightful color. The francesinha is large, and with the accompanying French fries, it can be difficult to finish in one sitting. However, it is worth noting that you can request a takeout box and take the remainder home, and the price difference is not significant. As an alternative you can just request an half instead of the full one. Taberna Belga also boasts a great selection of beers, with most being from Belgium, but also from other countries. The staff are friendly and efficient, ensuring that diners are well taken care of. It's important to note that the restaurant can be quite loud inside, which can be uncomfortable for some. During the summer, they open the outdoor seating area, which offers a more relaxed atmosphere. Finally, I would recommend visiting Taberna Belga before 7:30 pm, as it gets extremely busy and you may need to wait for a table. During the week, it's usually not as crowded, but weekends are always busy, and the waiting time can range from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the time and size of your group. Despite this, I believe the wait is worth it, as the francesinha from Taberna Belga is a true ambassador of Portuguese cuisine. The delectable Francesinhas, along with the friendly staff, vast beer selection, make this restaurant a must-visit in Braga. With the perfect balance of taste and quality, the Francesinhas at Taberna Belga are truly one of a kind. Whether you're a local or a tourist, you're sure to have a memorable dining experience at this fantastic restaurant.

Hands down the best place to have a francesinha. I have tried them all from Porto to Lisbon to Barcelos to Algarve this place is simply a must. Not only are their francesinhas top notch, their natas to ceu are just magical. They clearly came from heaven. Not only do you leave happy, you also leave with a few extra pounds of deliciousness.

Make sure to come here as early as possible. There’s always a queue. But it’s always worth the wait. The service is good, and the food is something that i could say ONE OF THE BEST FRANCESINHAS ever. If you’re visiting Braga or Guimarães you shouldn’t miss this place!

Taberna Belga was everything we expected. They have a better than average beer menu and the francesinha was super delicious. Note that there is a lot of sauce with it so be careful of splatters. I should not have worn a white shirt, but the waitress brought a large napkin that I could wear as a bib.

The francesinha was really good as well as the fries. However, I was disappointed with the behavior of the staff. The woman was rude because we didn't want the table in the corner in a room full of children screaming, when there were several tables available in another room?? She gave us another table anyways but she didn't seem happy with it.

This is the best francesinha! Nothing more you can say. The prices are very reasonable. The service is fast after you get it. The staff is quick and professional. The crazy huge amount of beer options adds a lot to the experience. The only downside is the waiting time. If you come friday or saturday you will have at least 30min waiting time. 100% worth coming

Great food we ordered one vegetarian and one meat francesinha both tasted delicious, the steak was very good. Friendly staff when they realized that the sauce on my plate was almost done but I still got the sandwich they proposed to bring more of it. The beer recommendation was also very good.

Best vegetarian francesinha of all time. Great food great service, but I recommend calling in advance because this place is so famous that you will find a huge line of people waiting to get a table, even though the place is huge.

It's an must for us whenever we are near Braga, for me the best francesinha you can have. I find that the most simple beers provide the best taste not to take over the meal.

If anywhere in the North of Portugal you're willing to taste the best francesinha, then no doubt, it's the destination of your dreams. They don't acceot reservation, but worth queuing, trust me. I don't understand why some people are eating other dishes than francesinha, but the portion, the taste and nice staff is making it a great gastro experience.

👍 Nice coffee, beautiful view, nice little playground for kids as well. Breakfast granola bowls were good. Simple pancakes could be served with a bowl of honey and some cream for the price. Two dry pancakes covered in cinnamon was too dry. Otherwise a lovely spot and we’ll be back :)
