Not a 5 star hotel… and like with other Melia hotels, more attention to detail required. Here some observations/points for improvement: - Only self service in the bar/lobby area - Need to pre-pay credit to room to be able to open a tab during your stay - WiFi free of charge but too slow for streaming, and for uninterrupted in-room TV during peak times - Many TV channels without signal - Blow dry in the room with limited power - Mirror in the bathroom not adjustable and ends at around 5‘11, i.e., no mirror for people taller than 6 feet - Body lotion empty in the bathroom upon arrival and not refilled during stay - No vacuuming when servicing the room - No refill of the water bottle after the first night; more water only for purchase - Ironing board in the room damaged - Need to book a time slot if you want to use the gym - Rowing machine in the gym not working (pedal missing) - Extra charge of 10€ if you want to use spa or pool even for hotel guests

Smoking is allowed on the 3rd and 4th floors and we didn’t know, the room next to mine would open the windows and smoke and despite keeping my window closed the cigarette smell was all inside my room. I complained to the reception and they initially said they would take care of it and only on the second complain they told us the floors we were in were smoking allowed and offered to move us to which we didn’t because we only had one more night to stay out of 4. The rooms are ok, but not super new and the light touchscreen on the side table is not user friendly, because it’s close to the bed on the top of the table, so several times I went to get my glasses in the dark and as soon as you touch the side table, some light will go on. If the hotel is full like when we were there the lifts are always packed. In the end, before we left they never asked if we had a good stay.

The good: - staff are generally friendly (some of them are out right rude!). They do try to make an effort and help where possible. They’re generally inundated due to it being popular for destination weddings - breakfast is good! The bad (there’s a lot!) - the Al a cart menu is aweful. Both the quality and variety of food - the hotel is DARK. If you’re travelling with a significant other and needs to get ready / do makeup artistry, you’re in for rough time - there’s a shortage of irons in the the hotel - as mentioned before, some of the staff do t really want to be there and see your existence an inconvenience. - housekeeping is by discretion apparently The weird: The bathrooms have this sliding door thing. Either you can shower and side the door over or you can use the toilet and slide the door closed. Either /or situation. If you’re in a room with 2 ppl, plan ahead!

Second time here. Service is still great but rooms have entered a state of quick degradation. My room had several little damages that don't paint a pleasant picture but the worst was one of the wall switches had been pulled from the wall and was dangling by the wires. I reported this as soon as I entered the room and no one repared it during our whole stay. Out bathtub also had hairs on it. Overall, it is not what it used to be. It's hard to recommend.

My Fiance and I visited the hotel to inquire about rooming for our upcoming wedding trip this year. We had the pleasure of meeting the Guest Experience Manager, Cristina! Cristina was friendly, approachable, and listened to our needs and provided us with various solutions. Needless to say, we went ahead with booking on the spot thanks to all of her help and guidance! As for the hotel, it's gorgeous, clean, spacious, luxurious, and modern. It has on-site eating lounges, a spa, a gym, an indoor and outdoor pool, parking, and more. The hotel offers a variety of rooms for various accommodation needs. Highly recommend booking here if staying in Braga.

We got a room that smelt from smoking. We were than upgraded to a bigger room (with no smell). The location is great if you're visiting the university. Otherwise, a bit away from the center. Overall, it is a good 5-star hotel and its current 4.5 star review aligns with our experience.

Comfortable and nice. Great breakfast Pool is very nice Super smart light switches in room can be annoying… what’s wrong with a normal light switch?

Very friendly staff and nice swimming pool. Not far away from bus stop and it is several euros to go to city centre or Bom jesus by Uber. Amazing breakfast as well

There breakfast buffet, which is included, has a variety of options for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. It's impressive. The dinner buffet is great also.

Great staff, but horrible rooms & inside room amenities etc.. Were not upto other Meliá hotel standards. AC did not function properly, bathroom etc was small and ...

I didn't think the dinner buffet was up to the rest of the hotel. On the other hand, breakfast was great. Room was great, we were in a suit, except some of the lights were too much style too few light. Bathroom light I am looking at you!! Spa was a very nice end of the day after tourism.

This was a short stay organised by Easyjet as my flight was cancelled due to a fire at some car park in Luton. The rooms are lovely and clean, the breakfast beautiful and I wish the reorganised flight had been a bit later so I could have had a swim in the pool.

very friendly staff rooms very clean a bit far from the train station and walking to city centre takes about 40 minutes but over all we would stay here again 😀

[] Sehr sauberes Hotel und Zimmer. Guter Service. Ansprechende Optik.

Very nice hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. February 2023 We (2 adults and a 9yr child) shared a comfortable room on the 11th floor with views to the river, coffee machine in the room. The bed was very comfortable, separate bathroom (with the shower and toilet in separate compartments), large soft towels. The very good breakfast was buffet style, the choice was good, but very busy. Large and modern hotel situated in a convenient location. The staff were very, helpful, accomodating and pleasant. After checkin we had to change rooms twice as the NON-Smoking rooms given us had been used by smokers and therefore had very unpleasant smoky smell. It is surprising that hotels here do not penalise peolpe who abuse the non-smoking policy!

The hotel has a good location, and is a litle expensive. The reception is very friendly... the rooms are litle bit used but good. Gim or swiming pool or garage was for us extra.

WiFi is not working properly so it is not possible to work at all, but also using the connection just to check up is a nightmare. Room is big but lack of wall and door between the room and bathroom is uncomfortable in some situations. A table and a chair to sit would be nice addition.

Went to the spa today because of the rain. Spa could use a little update in details (wall paper was letting loose in some places, place just needs a little TLC) swimming pool and sauna was nice, also had a couples massage which was wonderfull. We do massages every once in a while and would really recommend the full body massage here. Went out all rosy and relaxed :)

First of all I wanna appreciate Dianna, Angela at the reception who went out of their way to make us extra comfortable, I wanna thank the Spa team Anna, Julia and Caroline for giving us a beautiful and lovely massage and the use of the Spa facility. When we landed we had some issues at which Dianna and Angela fixed immediately and then went beyond. It was my birthday and wedding anniversary and we wanted to just enjoy the peaceful and serene atmosphere away from home and these people made it possible, we enjoyed the chef’s meal every night as we ordered every night, it was perfect. We definitely had a 5 star treatment. Thank you so much guys we appreciate all you did to make us comfortable we shall visit again…soon

Loved the experience I had at this hotel. The person at the reception was very polite and friendly and even upgraded our room so that was very kind of him of doing that. The stay was great! The pool inside was very busy and the sauna but still was okay to go and use it. The gym was surprisingly well equipped for a hotel it was the best one I’ve came across in a hotel so far. The food was also amazing, the toiletries were from a brand called Rituals so you know they are good. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

Typical restort hotel. Nice and comfortable, but sterile and charmless. A very long walk from Braga city centre (around 45 minutes). Not much to do in the area.

👍👍 Taberna Belga in my opinion serves the best francesinha in Portugal, surpassing all others. Taberna Belga has two locations, Taberna Belga 1 and Taberna Belga 2, which are located a short distance apart. Both restaurants are owned by the same proprietor and offer the same high-quality Francesinha...

👍 Nice coffee, beautiful view, nice little playground for kids as well. Breakfast granola bowls were good. Simple pancakes could be served with a bowl of honey and some cream for the price. Two dry pancakes covered in cinnamon was too dry. Otherwise a lovely spot and we’ll be back :)
