We will go back! Friendly staff, great food with generous portions. The chicken fajitas were really good. They said they opened in April 2018. It is located downtown Brainerd. They have plenty of space to accommodate large groups.

We chose this place randomly, and it was super delicioso... the chicken tacos were like the best street tacos ever! 100% coming back!

Check your accounts after going there. I had a 9.99 lunch on 04/12/2022 and left a modest tip. My debit card was charged $20.48. I believe it was lunch #7.

Chips were thick and needed salt, Salsa needed more onion and Cilantro. Chimichanga's were tiny, at first I thought they were appitizers. I should have oredered a burrito. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Entry door had a different name on it making it hard to find. Resturant needs new flooring and cosmetic improvements. I know this seems harsh but I try to give an honest opinion. Chimi's had good flavor just small, guac was very fresh and tasted great.

It’s obvious no Mexican people work here. The chili rellano was a cold wet chili with breading. And the taqueria were unseasoned chicken meat in a tortilla. Nothing had flavor and it’s by far the worst Mexican food I have had in 34 years on the planet. Whoever made this food and calls it Mexican should be cancelled by society and never allowed to cook again. It is an offense to the Mexican people and a direct attack on my taste buds.

Wow! Fantastic place :) I had the Philly burrito and it pretty much blew my mind. I will drive the hour to Brainerd just to eat at this place again.

I loved the variety of their menu, many different options and each dish was Full of flavor. Short staffed, but so is everywhere else... We had an excellent waitress, the kitchen staff was on point with pushing orders out! Overall, its a great place to try!

This place doesn't need my review, if you've been there, you know what I mean. The fajita nachos are my absolute favorite! The prices are fair and you get so much food. The free chips and salsa, I could probably just have that for dinner.. lol So good. The name escapes me, but I believe it is a cheesecake I usually get that is also brilliant. They're always really kind about making exceptions too, I don't try to do it often because it may be seen as rude, but if I do, they're the best about it when I do take out. One of the best places in town.

Great food love this place. Only issue is when I paid with my card and left a tip on the card they double charged my total instead of just taking off the tip I put on the receipt. Most likely just an honest mistake. I'll use cash next time but will definitely be back. Best rice and beans around.

We loved that the salsa had some spice. The meat was sliced thinly in the fajitas and was really tender. The carnitas were trimmed really well. We’ll be back!

Great lunch, at El Potro! Our server, Luis, was excellent! Reasonable prices on meals & tap beer. We definitely will be back!

Great tasting, authentic Mexican food! I love the shrimp fajitas, and my wife loves the beef fajitas. The ceviche chalupas are mighty tasty and are hard to beat; I will order these again and again. The rice and beans are the best in town. What makes this restaurant even better are the very reasonable prices. If you like Mexican food, this restaurant will become one of your favorites. It's now one of mine!

Waiter was nice but seemed uninterested in us other than getting us the food and moving on to the next mundane task. Couldn't multitask ie: filling water and talking to customers simultaneously. We didn't get our chips and salsa until we got our meal which in my mind should come out right away but not all places do the same things. He was friendly though and I did like how he made my margherita. Strong just like I would make it I would go back but maybe order something else:: I had a taco salad and it was good but in my opinion it definitely needed more salt.

Super nice staff and the food was very good. The recipes are authentic and the restaurant is comfortable. This is my family’s choice for Mexican food in the Brainerd area.

Great food, but...it's 2022 and you don't have a working website for your business where I can see a menu online? Other than that it's good mexican food.

Fast service, better prices than other Mexican options in town and a HUGE menu. Had the El Potro burrito lunch. Excellent... But... If you don't do heat choose a different option. I like heat and wow, that was heat. Had to steal my sister's sour cream. I recommend ordering a side of sour cream if you choose this burrito.

The owners are very welcoming, the wait staff is attentive and the food is delicious! The "fajitas for one" portions are HUGE -- more than enough food for two people with the biggest appetites to finish...split it and just ask for extra tortillas. See attached photos

Friendly, attentive service. Great salsa with plenty of flavor. Shrimp Diablo was incredibly good and spicy. I would go back!

The first few times everything was great, the next 3 times and last time the food has been cold. Wrong sauces and nothing like it was in the beginning. Get it together and it could be a great restraunt.

A bit expensive for what you get. The food was good but my unsweetened ice tea was 3 dollars. I love Mexican food and most Latin American food. I might try them again but not sure!

Absolutely the BEST authentic Mexican food we have had EVER. The atmosphere felt just like we stepped off the ship in Mexico and dining on vacation. We had the Fajitas for 2 included Shrimps, Beef, Chicken and the BEST slow roasted Pork I’ve ever tasted in my life. Incredible - If you want a fantastic dining experience with friendly service, this is the place to be and very affordable. A+ Miguel!

Cute place, nice waitstaff but the food was pretty bad. I ordered chicken soft shell and it was drenched in cheese sauce. I couldn't eat it. Chips, beans & rice we're ok.

Waitress Hannah was amazing. A very intoxicated lady came in while we were eating and she handled her like a pro all while performing her waitressing duties. We enjoyed our lunch. They were very accomadating with menu change requests.

Excellent food prices and service. Servings are generous! Very welcoming ambient and honest people like Mariana, a wonderful waitress. El Patron is my new Mexican restaurant.
