Hviezdoslav Square is a vibrant public space located in the heart of Bratislava, Slovakia. It's a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, featuring numerous restaurants, cafes, and cultural events. The square's charming architecture and picturesque setting make it a must-visit spot in the city.

There is an intimacy about the small historic centre of Bratislava. but the wider city - residential Bratislava - is an unpleasant reminder of all that was rotten with social developments in the old Eastern Bloc. Service mindedness is mostly unknown in this city. Not worth the detour from Vienna

What a city this one is. Beautiful Cities Cape and architecture is just mesmerising to look at. Walking on the streets you feel like you are back in the seventies and the eighties. This city rather this particularly this area has the old world charm to it. Consider spending almost 2 hours walking the streets and exploring more and more sculptures and nearby eateries the landscape and the doctor as well is just wow.

Lovely main walk of the city, all pedestrianised with chestnut sales and mulled wine available along the way. I think in the summer when the fountains are out it will look a lot nicer but for the winter it was a really pleasant walk along it

Hviezdoslavovo námestie is a public square in Bratislava Old Town, between the Most SNP Bridge in the west and the Slovak National Theater in the east. The square is named after Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav, whose monument is also in the square. The square is an important and lively spot in Bratislava. The aforementioned Slovak National Theater, several upmarket hotels including the Radisson Blu Carlton, Devin and Avance, as well as several embassies. On the north side of the square are mostly bars and restaurants. It’s a nice square to wander around both night and day, and a very popular tourist spot especially for the photogenic opportunities including the opera house and the water feature in the square. At night much of the square and many of the buildings are beautifully lit up and the square looks fantastic.

This is a place for people to hang out from six to nine. And there are lots of souvenir shops just in case you would like to buy something. There are some very beautiful restaurants and have great food if you would be hungry. I love Bratislava its the to visit I winter or summer what ever the weather is like. Go and visit slovakia now and see how fun it is here!

The perfect „Halusky-Recovery-Zone“. Very sweet area to digest after you had an enormous amount of delicious Halusky. When recovered, there’s plenty of ice cream stores next to the place (I recommend „Kuon“). Only 4 stars tho because the benches have this thing in the middle which makes it impossible to lie down or cuddle with your loved one.

The green heart of Bratislava. A lively and yet relaxing little park where one can sit down and have a rest. Also a place for social and community events - an Italian food festival was in full swing at the time of visit. The police and security presence is a bit of an anticlimax though.

A must-go square in the old-town. Beatiful in the evenings. Surely try the Andersen Ice Cream and the Koun ice cream to enjoy the atmosphere, sitting in a bench and watching the city breathe ^_^

Interesting square with both a bit of park (western part) and open tiled part. There are more expensive restaurants and McDonald's. Various events happen here like markets.

Nice place to spend some time walking, meeting people or just sitting and relaxing. There's lot of ice cream shops around during summer time as well as many restaurants through the whole year. On one of its end you can find Slovak national theatre historical building with its fountain. There are also open sky galleries and festivals organized on memorial days or other occasions. Street artists do their performance for visitors, eventually with a possibility to interact. Kids can spend time also on a small playground with swings. X-mas time offers market during advent month with plenty of gastronomy and gift stuff. Just go there and have a nice time ☺️

Very cozy place in the heart of the old town where you can sit and rest, one of the best atmospheric sites in Bratislava.

It is brilliant and has protective wiring so if you are afraid of falling then it will stop you before you have tripped over. I suggest taking a camera with a long distance viewing system and a thick jumper even in 40 degree weather.

When the weather's nice, take a slow stroll down the square, then buy yourself an ice-cream, sit on a bench in the shade, and watch the world go by. There are a few interesting characters in addition to the families and dog walkers, so there's always something (or someone) interesting to look at.

Lovely stroll underneath the trees. It feels a little like the Ramblas :-) Lots of nice cafés, restaurants & icecreamshops. Don't miss out on a lovely cone with tastebudsmelting flavors from Koun (a little hidden in a side alley)

This square is very well maintained. When walking though it we were impressed by the cleanliness. Tbe trees overhanging create a lovely soft light and the cobblestone on the floor creates the ideal effect of being on holiday and relaxing. Bratislava as a whole has been amazing and the overall city centre is very small but worth the visit

Nice place surrounded by lot of bars, connecting the city center with SNP Bridge, so if you come by bus and stop in SNP will be one of the first things you will see in Bratislava. Hviezdoslav was a Slovak writer so you will find his statue on the square
