I am a local but had friends coming from abroad and thought what might be special for them to see here since they have travelled around the world and already visited many cities. I came across Authentic Slovakia and it was the best thing I could find. My friends were very excited about the tour on an old Skoda, professional and friendly approach of Peter (the guide) and about the little presents he brought them. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was like hanging out with your local buddy that showed you around his town with pride. Peter was so chatty and we had a great time together in his red Skoda. I will actually do this tour again as we had so much more to see. Highly recommend Peter and his company. Super nice guy, very informative, and a pleasure to get to know. Thank you for the thoughtful treats, Peter!

I can't imagine better tour around Bratislava! Communist history gives you another perspective of the whole city and helps you understand the mindset and culture of the whole country as such. Plus! Peter is a guide who is not just giving you history by book, but telling stories from his own childhood in Communism (some say he doesn't look that old!) Do it without hesitation, this is not just another tourist tour - it is ride around the city with a local folk who knows all the good, ugly and weird places and does not hold back.

The "Post-Communist Bratislava Tour" from the Authentic Slovakia Team was awesome! Comrad Peter was our guide, drove us over 2 hours through the city to historical places while telling us stories from the past and showed us some really nice spots. He really took time for us and made sure we get a real and authentic view of Bratislava. You wanna see this citys past and it's modern way of life? I totally recommend these guys! Personally he's a funny guy with lots of experience from almost all around the world. Also you can have some real philisophic deep talks about the world and life in this universe and the true serious meaning in Star Wars about heroism of good and bad and the stoic and buddhistic philosophy underneath it. Ask for his Chewbacca impersonations!

Peter was a terrific guide, who with humour and great storytelling engaged us in the Communist history of Bratislava, and what it was like to grow up in the end of that time. All this while showing amazing places around Bratislava; some famous where he added context you wouldn't otherwise get, and some you wouldn't have found by yourself. We also had the add-on urban exploration tour, which was fascinating, but as Peter also admitted, the great urbex in Bratislava isn't accessible anymore, or is simply just gone, as Bratislava is growing like never before. Of our two weeks in Slovakia, our tour with Authentic Slovakia was an absolute highlight.

We had the best time ever. It brought the post communist era alive for us. My husband loved the skoda van. It was very nostalgic. Thank you Peter for being such a great host. Your English was impeccable and we loved the stories and jokes.

Our tour, given by Maros, was fab! Over the course of four hours he gave the five of us a really interesting insight into the history of Bratislava throughout the 20th century, and was incredibly knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!

This is a rare find. Outstanding tour packed with history and cool off the beaten track sights to see. Couldn't have been more pleased with our guide Robert. The kids loved it.

We had a great time with Brano who was very friendly and educational! He drove us around in 1990s Skoda to awesome historical sites and learned fascinating stories about Slovakia.. many with personal touches. Going on this tour was the best and most memorable activity we did in Bratislava! Highly recommend

We had the best day on our wine tour with Peter. He was really fun, knowledgeable and organised. He made the trip exactly what we wanted and we really felt we’d experienced something local- it was all fabulous. The wine was delicious and the town and vineyards were so pretty. Highest possible recommendation- thank you Peter!!

This was one of the best tours we have ever taken. Maros, our guide, gave us the perfect blend of both historical and present day information. He talked about the culture and the challenges that modern day Slovaks face in a changing European world. We visited numerous interesting and historically significant sights, travelling safely in his van. Particularly we enjoyed seeing what was once “No man’s land” between Slovakia and Austria. Even though it rained through the whole tour, Maros held our attention with personal anecdotes with historical connections. He ensured we had access to bathrooms and coffee part way through. Maros was exceedingly generous with his time. We literally could have listened to him all day! We are already planning a trip for next year with this company through other parts of Slovakia. It was that good.

We did the Post-Communist Bratislava Tour with Braňo and I can vouch that it was the best thing that we did during our holiday. Braňo is extremely knowledgable and quickly adapts the tour based on our interests. He not only related the stories and history of the places we visited but also drew from his personal experiences and kept us engaged and entertained. The icing on the cake was the ride in the legendary Skoda car!

In October 2022 I took the Bratislava Identity Bike Tour with Braňo, and close to a year later I still remember how fun it was! In a bit over 4 hours we cycled an easy 11 mi/18 km through Bratislava's Old Town and across the Danube to places such as old WWII military bunkers. Braňo was a very outgoing and entertaining guide, and the stories he told about Bratislava/Slovakia/Czechoslovakia were fascinating - not just your standard "This church was built by this king in year XXXX," but modern history, politics, and things to really give you a feel about what it's like to live/have lived in Bratislava. This bike tour was the best thing I did during my trip to Bratislava. I highly reccomend this bike tour as well as Authentic Slovakia as a company. If I were to ever take more day tours in the Bratislava area, I would definitely book another tour with them!

This tour is one of the best things I have done in Europe. If every capitol city had an offering like this;I would take it. We did the 4 hour tour and it was perfect. I would normally pass by things and think “they are cool” but today with Mark I now have some new history of the area, some stories to tell and some memories. We were also lucky enough to go to his local area of Petrzalka which was a great personal touch. Oh yeah we did it in a skoda 100. When was the last time that was possible. Just great

My tour hosted by Authentic Slovakia was the highlight of my time in Bratislava. Guide Peter was cheerful and friendly, punctual, keeping the day's program interesting and at a good pace - with lots of unique personal insights into life in Slovakia. I highly recommend Authentic Slovakia and would absolutely book more of their tours should I return!

I took the castle tour with Peter Chrenka who was a wonderful guide. He was very attentive to the needs of each member of our group, including little children and older people like myself who were slower to climb the mountain! The castle was a treat to visit on a early spring day. Peter's narratives made it even more interesting. I especially liked the folktales he told about the occupants of the castles. He was an excellent driver and showed flexibility in our itinerary when people like me slowed down our progress up the hills! This tour and this guide (Peter) are highly recommended!

We did the Post-Communist Bratislava Tour. It was me, my wife, our guide Marek and an old Skoda and it was really good, better than expected. It was fun, it was educating, it was a great way to get an insight in Bratislava, Slovakia and it’s history. Our guide Marek - who by the way spoke excellent english - was really good at storytelling and made the whole tour interesting. And he did it in a fun way. So we recommend this tour to everybody who likes to know a little more about the real Bratislava, not only the traditional stuff you can read in every tourist guide book.

Superb tour of post-communist Slovakia with Brano in the old Skoda - which was of course masterfully driven. The tour was the absolute highlight of our week exploring Austria and Slovakia and is a unique way to see Bratislava and make the most of this city! Thanks a lot!

We did a cycling tour of Bratislava on Friday morning with Peter …he was great! He is a lovely guide, so warm and wholehearted: he clearly loves his native city and showing it to us. He brought us around the city, showing the main attractions, all the time giving us the context and history …we briefly visited the former communist high rise housing area in Petržalka as well. We came away with a deeper understanding of Bratislava and Slovakia and lots of tips for further places to visit over the weekend, which has been really useful. Peter had some fun snacks for us too …typical Slovakian, Horalky and Kofola…😋 I highly recommend this tour, he is a wonderful guide, who gives you an authentic insight into Bratislava and it’s history. Thank you Peter 🙏

100% recommend this tour company! We did the Bratislava Post-Communism Tour with Brano. He was an excellent guide and we gained insight into the city, its history, and the Slovak people. We saw many interesting buildings and locations that we would never have seen on our own. We never book tours on vacation but this is absolutely worth it.

I had an awesome tour with Maros. He was very knowledgeable and had an answer to every question I had. Easily the best of all the tours I took during my trip. I hope to be back one day and tour in another car!

We had an excellent tour in the old škoda. Petar is a cool guy and told us a lot about the interesting history of Slovakia and Bratislava. I definitely recommend the tour if you want to understand how the city was shaped by different influences over time. Also it was a lot of fun and jokes. Best Regards Thomas

😠 I definitely do not recommend this CK! We chose the Slovak CK for our vacation, because of the Slovak delegate, since we also went to Greece for the sights. They offered 6-7 trips.
