It was my first visit to Blue River Bistro, it won't be my last either. The decor and layout are comfortable, with beautiful art displayed around the restaurant. The menu has a great selection of dishes that you won't be at a loss for one. I ordered the Chicken Paella. The service was friendly and prompt. The food came out looking and tasting delicious. If you are looking for a great spot for a great meal, I would recommend checking out Blue River Bistro.

We stay in Breckinridge every year and stop here at least once. Our top, go-to dishes are the pine crusted salmon and the beef short ribs. This particular time, there was live music! We were worried it would be so loud we couldn’t hear anyone at the table. However, it was just right. 10/10 would recommend!!!!

Had dinner after a great day of skiing. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Parking was easy and we were seated quickly. Service was great. Started with their Brussels sprouts appetizer which was very good though the Brussels sprouts were a little under done and could have been charred a bit more. I had paella which was very tasty though missing the socarrat of crispy rice of a Spanish paella. My wife had cioppino which was very good. A nice night.

Such a great dinner here at Blue River Bistro. Reservations were pushed out for hours but we drove by to make sure and they let us sit outside. The halibut and Bison short ribs were the best along with the chocolate mousse for dessert. Amazing experience!!

My friend had brought me to this restaurant many years ago and I loved it so much, but could not remember the name. I finally came across it when in town for business. I was so thrilled. I haven’t tried the happy hour but I hear it’s incredible. It gets very busy during happy hour and it seems like only one side of the restaurant is open for happy hour. I did get to sit in a corner alone and do some work and enjoy some delicious food. The staff was accommodating and friendly as well. Buffalo cauliflower is a big go to for me, they nailed it. Right amount of spice and crunch. The shrimp pasta was nice, it was a larger portion so I couldn’t eat it all. I had the Crime of passion cocktail, it had a beet essence to it definitely interesting. Wished I had more time to experience more drinks. Will have to go back. Great experience overall.

The venue has dim lighting and cozy vibes. Some of our friends had strict diets and they were able to make changes to their menu to accommodate. The appetizers were delicious, I would highly recommend the fried tiger pawns and tomato soup. The mains were also great, I had the porkchop which was good but after seeing the paella I wish I had ordered that. I don't recommend the non alcoholic drinks, they came in small sizes and tasted below average. While the service was good, our server did have an attitude and was only extremely nice and responsive to us when asking for the check. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back, the food was good, but for the price and service, I would easily go elsewhere.

A great restaurant. Jayson was a great server. The calamari was wonderful. We had the special, Steak Diane and wanted to lick the plate.

We are traveling from WI and we wanted to dine at a nicer restaurant one night. We had a group of 6 people and between all of us ordered 3 different entrees from the menu - all of them were PHENOMENAL! (Beef tenderloin, prosciutto wrapped salmon (special that night), and the buffalo short ribs). Especially the buffalo short ribs - to die for. SO FRICKEN GOOD!! We also got fried calamari as appetizer and that was also delicious!

One of our favorite restaurants and we've dined here many times. The service is always professional and warm. Last night, we shared the arugula salad and paella, as well as the mussels. Everything we've had at Blue River Bistro has been phenomenal. Make a reservation and enjoy!

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a meal at this restaurant after conquering one of the challenging 14ers in the area. We were looking forward to a hearty and satisfying post-hike feast, but sadly, our experience left much to be desired. We kicked off our meal with an order of fried calamari, hoping for something crispy and delicious. However, what arrived at our table was a plate of calamari that seemed to have taken an extra-long swim in the fryer. They were overcooked and disappointingly dry. To make matters worse, they were served with a vinegar dressing instead of the expected tomato sauce, which felt like an unusual pairing. My husband ordered the garden salad, which he found to be decent and enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients. But things took a turn for the worse with the focaccia bread. It was a far cry from the fluffy, herb-infused delight that we had expected. Instead, what we received was a simple bread masquerading in the shape of focaccia, a real letdown. The biggest letdown, however, was the arugula mango salad. The menu description had our mouths watering with the promise of a vibrant mix of arugula, avocado, mango, beets, walnuts, cucumbers, and goat cheese. In reality, it was primarily a bowl of arugula with just a smattering of the promised ingredients. I counted maybe three pieces of mango, beets that were the size of corn kernels and barely detectable in flavor, a couple of small walnuts, a meager dollop of avocado paste, and a minuscule piece of goat cheese. Essentially, it was a bowl of arugula with a few token additions. I left the restaurant feeling as hungry as when I had arrived, which was a far cry from the satisfying post-hike meal we had envisioned. Despite the disappointment with the food, the service was good. In conclusion, our dining experience at this restaurant was a letdown after a strenuous hike. The dishes didn't live up to our expectations, and we left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. We had hoped for a hearty and fulfilling meal to replenish our energy, but instead, we left hungry and underwhelmed.

Had the elk chops special. As good a meal as I have had. Spectacular! Shuman were delicious as well. Highly, highly recommended.

Started with escargot, which my wife and I enjoyed immensely. It was full of flavor and worth a try. The tiger shrimp appetizer was ok but not outstanding. The Paella Valenciana was pack full of flavor with very choice mussels would whole heartedly recommend. Its a dish that also is quite filling for those who don't like their expensive food to also be small-portioned. The chocolate mousse was delicious and we left thouroughly stuffed. Was a great end to our honeymoon. Expect to pay roughly 60-75 per person here for the full experience.

Nice place for dinner in downtown Breckinridge. We had the special appetizer (yellowtail tostada) which was fantastic, The beet salad (mediocre), the elk chop (delicious), and the petit filet (also, delicious). They have a healthy selection of wines, mainly by the bottle. But for us, the highlight was the non alcoholic mocktails - definitely crafted as if it were an actual cocktail, all right down to the fun glass and cool ice cubes. Pros: Service was excellent, gluten free and vegetarian options, great drink/wine selection, majority of what we had was good Cons: Food presentation. Odd that this is a con, but for us it was a huge one. We eat first with our eyes, and it just didn’t hit the mark. The plates are cheap and so is the silverware (the forks reminded us of cafeteria forks). The entire place just feels a little sterile. Definitely room for improvement.

I will keep this simple, I've been multiple times and the food and service is always top notch. If your considering, just go you won't regret it.

Can’t say enough about our experience at Blue River Bistro! We made a reservation in advance, when we arrived 15 minutes early we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated immediately. Our party of two enjoyed the calamari and burrata appetizers. For dinner we enjoyed the special which was a pork shank served with creamed corn and fried potatoes then topped with a homemade bbq sauce and their pork chop from their regular menu. We topped our meal off with the delicious espresso and white chocolate crème brûlée. Overall BRB was phenomenal and we look forward to our next dining experience with them.

We visited Blue River Bistro on our first night in Breckinridge on a whim after hearing from locals of their superb food and service, and they did not disappoint. We were lucky to even get seats for we arrived more than 10 min late to our reservation and they held our spot even though they were full-house. After we were seated our server, knew exactly what we needed and expeditiously got us both Dirty Martinis, one w blue cheese and the other w jalapeño stuffed olives. They. Were. Perfect. We tried the shumai and flash fried shrimp appetizers, both proving to be a surprise hit to our palette! Never have I had a deconstructed shumai that filled you with such flavor and taste so fully. Every bite was a mouthful of yumminess. Whoever created these successfully made a western styled shumai befitting the culture of this country. The added slight spicy kick was genius. The flash fried shrimp came with this light sauce made out of a concussion of tangy sweet spicy light salt blended so well, we wanted to take it home to dip for future use. For our entrees we had the beef braised short rib and elk chops. The short ribs looked amazing but the star of the table was the elk chops. It came w scalloped potatoes so rich and grilled broccolini that nested the astounding medium rare elk chops rested atop in a Demi glaze reduction. If there’s any complaint, it would be portions. We barely were able to eat our entire meals. Perhaps it was the altitude. They say it makes you eat less. For dessert we had their espresso martini. It’s the best one we’ve had ever. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Breckinridge and Blue River Bistro just added that much more value to our visit. We hope to come back soon!

We had the Keema Curry with steak as the protein; we also ordered the Paella. Both dishes were excellent in quality, flavor and presentation. We have had several company events/dinners and personal time here for good reason: reliable quality, friendly service and an atmosphere for many different purposes.

Best meal in Breckenridge. Phenomenal food and service! I loved the salmon! We ordered shrimp and calamari for starters and loved them. Great kids menu AND writing tablets to keep them entertained. Highly recommend!!

I have been in circles around the state stopping in every major city and landmark. Tea time in c Springs, fine dining in Durango, and more. This dinner was THE best I’ve had State round and in a long time. Cheers to Jason for being a great waiter. And to to cook staff. Fantastic. The mussels, paella, and special trout of the night were to die for.

What a great brunch, we started off with iced coffee, and a Bloody Mary. The kids got their chicken fingers and grilled cheese super fast. We had the amazing baked brie to start. We had absolutely amazing eggs Benedict and shrimp po boy. What a great brunch.

Had dinner celebrating a birthday and family vacation. Drink menu was impressive as were the drinks! Difficult to decide among the delicious entree options, so we each picked something different. No one was disappointed!

The food is pretty good! I had a po boy shrimp sandwich and my husband had a hamburger. I was completely full after the sandwich and normally I can eat 2 sandwich before I'm full. The place looks nice. But the waitress is not quite friendly. And I'm not sure it's a Colorado thing or not, but they give you the bill a few minutes after they bring out the food... like food out, bill out, I'm done serving you now.

Happy hour from 2-5 every day! Can’t beat that. We had charred Brussels, calamari, tiger shrimp and caprese and everything was excellent! I am sure the dinner is wonderful too. Of course the 2 for 1 martinis was the icing on the cake.

We decided to try the restaurant out for dinner after a great day of skiing. Overall a very enjoyable experience. The staff was very friendly and we were seated quickly. The service was prompt, we started with the Caprese salad that tasted great and had plenty of flavors. Service was great. I had the chicken Marsala which was very tasty, My friend had the salmon was divine and my wife had the Keema which was very outstanding. Overall it was a great night so we decided to come back for lunch 2 days later. The lunch menu offers different items that are great as well. I had the Eagle Rock Ranch burger that was very well prepared and tasted great. My friend had the spicy Italian sandwich and was ver pleased with it. My wife had the Beat Salad, it was super fresh and had a tasted great. Two great experiences we will definitely be back next time we visit Breckinridge.

Hands down the best vegan burger and Roasted Cauliflower I’ve ever had! Busy during the weekends! But this edgy place has got its charm in the small town! The food and the service was great! I’d highly recommend if your looking for a vegan burger or some veggie options:)
