fantastic facility and great staff. Cook county should be proud. we slept 36 with plenty of room to spare. clean and well maintained. a jewel in the city. close enough for lake county and others. we're glad we can't use cookie pusher's props afterall. lol

Milo has always loved the forest preserves. It's a great place to go run in play no matter how young or old. Definitely a Four Paws Up experience

Did the cabin rentals at Camp Sheridan. Urban campout with visits to downtown Chicago and Cantiney. Cabins were great for Scouts. Highly recommended

Wonderful place to have my first camping experience since I was little. The staff was friendly and funny, making me feel like family, rather than just another customer. The grounds were well kept, and the bathroom was way cleaner than I expected of any "camping" bathroom. There was a fun and informational night hike when we went that both I and my boyfriend enjoyed just as much as our 6yr old. The grounds are close enough to modern comforts to not be terrifying for a first timer in case you forget something and also far enough away from busyness to be a great decompression getaway. Only complaints are that the day we arrived, the water in the bathrooms was out for a good portion of the day, bathrooms and showers could not be used. Also the wood for the campfires was possibly too recently cut, or was left out in some rain, because it would not stay lit, and smoked a lot, like it was wet. All in all, we had a lovely time, despite the intense heat

Nice little campground. Lots of shade in the tent sites and flush toilets in the restrooms. Air conditioned climbing wall is a real plus when the temperature hits 90. Friendly and helpful staff tops it off.

Why, I found the woods simply splendid. A better place is hard to come by. As I wander amongst the fallen trees, my mind wanders back in time. Some of the woods here are original, primeval forest. I know that native Americans walked this same forest. I have found a number of arrowheads. I have been hiking this forest since childhood, nearly 50 years.

I went on an overnight camping trip with my cub Scout pack. We played games outside and made a fire at night for smores. They had a great time. This place is a nice facility with nice cabins. Clean and well maintained.

Great place, very clean and nice camp lots. The RV lots dont have water or sewer but they have a nice setup to fill the onboard fresh water tank. The only down side is they don't have a dump to empty the black tank when leaving, you have to go to the other campground which is 25 min away.

Our scout troop camped at one of the large bunkhouses. It was clean when we came in. Plenty of room for the kids to spread out. The manager was very informative and kept me updated on a known issue. Beds have a thick mat instead of mattresses, and you either have to bring your own linens or sleeping bags. Will keep this location on rotation for our winter camping needs.

My friend had a birthday party at the cabin. It was very nice and spacious. Only issue was the heat wasn't working properly,so some people decided to go home.

They are usually empty until 7 in the morning during summer then there will be a few people in each one. Port-a-potties are often replaced or changed when need be but if people misbehave they remove the outdoor bathrooms for a long time. The one on Midlothian's side gets crowded around 9 or 10 so I recommend going early or late close to when they are about to close
