Wish I had read the other reviews about unfriendly service before coming here, but I like to give places a chance. We walked in about 20 minutes from closing, and we’re told they weren’t taking any orders so we said okay and walked out. That was all fine, except they were definitely taking orders from the drive thru and people kept coming and putting orders as we were trying to figure out where else to go. We would’ve gladly done that, but looks like they just didn’t want our business.

I made the trip out from The Woodlands to try this place from a friendly recommendation, and it did not disappoint. This little burger joint is very good! We got the bacon cheeseburger, fried okra, fries, and onion rings. Finished it off with a Strawberry malt! The food was fresh and the staff was lovely. If you’re looking for a simple, fresh cooked meal, check it out! Also very happy with the prices.

I was visiting Brenham and past this place and saw the line of vehicles heading to attend a memorial service and I noticed the name of the establishment and said oh man sounds and looks like it (from the line of business) they must have good food. So I decided that afterwards and if they were still open I would drop in to get a bite yo eat before heading back to Houston. And what do you know, there was still a good line of business of cars and I said.. IM STOPPING!! it's gotta be good food and service here. It was 850pm and they closed at 9pm.. the service from the lady that took my order was patient (since my first time) friendly (helped me choose from such a variety of menu items) asked what's a popular hometown fav and she recommended the bacon cheese burger. I ordered the seasoned curly fries and the homemade strawberry shake (with real strawberry FRUIT).. THe food was served fresh, hot and everything taste HOMEMADE!! 😋 if I'm ever passing through the Brenham area again I will be back!

Great burgers and fries. They were slammed and still managed to get our order out in a decent amount of time. There is not much seating inside and the drive through was spilling out into the road but it was a fine day and they had tables outside so it worked out okay.

Wowee we heading to Austin from Houston and found this gem. Absolutely delicious burgers. Fries, tots and sweet tea were on point too. Would definitely recommend you stop in and grab a bite. The staff was super friendly a d they were slammed. 10 out of 10 in my families opinion.

Hands down, one of the most best Burger places in town. I've had their vanilla shake and one of my friend from school covered for me by paying my drink. And at times before, their burger is the bomb. Much better than Burger King. Friendly staff also. God bless them. I'll definitely drop in and get something sometime.

Great food. Really good value! Party of four ate here, April 18th, 2023. Malts using Blue Bell ice cream were exceptional. Burgers & fixings were top notch quality & freshness. Wow! Tight seating inside & out.....

Great dive burger joint off of 290! Tried the cheeseburger 🍔 and it was fantastic. Also, ordered a chocolate shake and it was super delicious as well… Place looks like an old converted Dairy Queen with a nostalgic feel but definitely taste better and their prices are much better. Food was fresh, hot and fast….. Gets my vote and 5 tasty smileys for a great value and quality 😋😋😋😋😋

We had a day trip to Brenham and decided to have lunch here. Their menu was a wide variety. Something for everyone to eat. The prices were great! There is not a very big dinning room so it will not be good for a big group or family. They are quite busy so we knew we made the right decision by coming here. Even though they were busy the food came in a timely manner. Fresh and Hot! It was delicious. I did have one issue. I ordered a grilled ham and cheese. (Like a grilled cheese with ham… I guess that’s how I should have ordered lol) I received a ham and cheese sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and Mayo with toasted bread. It looked delicious but I don’t eat mayo 🤦🏽‍♀️. My husband ended up eating it so it was fine. But all in all this is an amazing place to eat with great service and fresh hot delicious food! Definitely worth stopping at and grabbing some food! I should have took more pictures but didn’t think about it until everyone ate. So the pictures I did take were onion rings, French fries, grilled ham and cheese sandwich and a grilled cheese with bacon.

This place has roaches. This was the second time me and my wife ate here and we decided to eat inside this time. After I had already completely eaten my burger I noticed a baby roach on the table. There were three more under the little red tray they serve you on. Maybe I should have said something but I didn’t want to make a scene because the place was packed. We just threw our stuff away and left. Won’t be back unfortunately because the food is good minus the roach problem.

What can you say about the Dairy Bar, in Brenham, Texas. Fantastic burgers. My only complaint is that there are. not more of them.

So disappointed! I've always ordered the chicken strip basket because you actually received 3 good size CHICKEN strips, not all breading... the quality went way downhill! Now apparently it's 2 shriveled up little pieces and for the same price. Whataburger has bigger strips then this! They also need to learn how to make proper sweet tea! I'm giving 3 stars only because my husband's cheeseburger was still good.

Dairy bar makes the best old fashioned hamburger you have eaten. Great price and yummy onion rings. We go several times a year for a special treat. Not great for your cholesterol but sure tastes good.

My favorite place to eat in Brenham! Very good burgers made to order, lots of other sandwiches and entrees to choose from as well as many great appetizers and sides. Such high hopes. I had been told this was one of those super terrific unexpectedly amazing hole-in-the-wall places you just HAVE to try. I guess it would have helped to start with lower expectations. We weren't especially hungry but in the neighborhood so we decided to take advantage of the short drive-through line and get a snack. We ordered a swirl shake and onion rings to share. We received a chocolate shake -- tasty enough, but not what we ordered; it was basically a Wendy's frosty. The onion rings have at least as much batter as onion -- if that's your preference, they were fine. It was more of a beer batter, which is thick and I prefer less batter and more crunch. As we drove away I found there was no ketchup nor napkins in the bag -- just the onion rings. I'm not sure if the line is usually long because the service is slow or if we just showed up on a bad day and ordered the wrong things. Not sure if I will try again or not.

The burgers are fantastic! Also had the fried okra which was fresh, crispy and hot, and the sweet potato fries which were perfectly cooked. Topped it off with a chocolate shake which was also very good. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that there were a lot of flies inside the restaurant and it was annoying having to swat them away while trying to eat.

Got a cheeseburger, it was fantastic. The curly fries were good, but weren't fresh. Service could have been much better. The young lady taking orders at counter was annoyed to help us, wouldn't look at us when barely speaking, and didn't provide explanations when I asked about the meal options. If you like amazing hamburgers and poor customer service, this is a fantastic option. I would recommend going through the drive-thru instead of dinning inside.

1st visit. Lots of menu variety. Blue Bell cream used in their shakes. Prices very reasonable, good sized portions. We had catfish basket, double meat cheeseburger, patty melts,curly fries, Hamburger, choc shake- all good. Inside dining area was a bit humid & could use more tables, but it was raining at the time. Outside seating avail. Drive thru was constantly busy.

We stumbled across this gem while driving through Brenham. Very large menu, and so far, everything I've tried is great! My wife loves the shrimp burger, and the hamburgers are incredible. Prices are well below the quality of food, I even wonder how they keep the prices so low. We will continue to come anytime we are close.

My family and I came to Brenham to visit the Blue Bell factory. After enjoying some ice cream, we wanted a burger and we googled and came up with this place. They had a huge line of cars in the drive thru so we decided to get off and eat inside. The wait inside was worth the delicious juicy burgers and crinkle cut fries. My kids had an amazing chicken tender basket. The prices were very reasonable but the flavor is the reason why we will return.

I went here on my lunch break. Got a burrito with chili and cheese. Chili was cold and did t taste the best and neither did the burrito. As I was sitting down for lunch there were a few roaches crawling around. Told the employees so maybe they could get rid of them before the lunch crowd came and they wasn’t bothered. But, I will not be returning to this restaurant again.

We pulled up to a rather long line in the drive-thru. We've been here multiple times before, and I've always enjoyed our experience so we sat in a line. We pulled up to order and the girl at the window was fairly rude, but not overly so that we didn't want to continue to eat there. We were told emphatically to pull around, which we did and set for the next 10 minutes. The girl who took our order at the window came out twice to hand out other people's food behind us, but did not bring out ours and sent out someone else instead. That girl was extremely rude. Our order was incomplete and we asked for our shake to which we were given a dirty look and an okay as she walked away. She came back out and all but threw the shake in the car with the outside of the cup completely sticky and gross. As we opened everything up, there were no condiments or anything for us to use as a dip for our fries, mozzarella sticks, and popcorn chicken. Ultimately, we have been fans of the Dairy Bar for a long time, but I will not be back based off of the interaction that I had today.

Plain little burger joint, but way better than the chains. Great prices. They do it right. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and curly fries. Will be going back! They were busy inside and drive through. Busy means good food. Didn't have to wait long either.

Employees were friendly, and the food was good for the best price around - burger and fries for $7. Can't find that anywhere beyond nasty fast food. I ordered via phone, yet people who ordered in person 15-20 mins after I called in received their food first. That was frustrating. Otherwise, good for the money if you have 30 minutes to wait.

I have come here a few times now. The burgers are great. Everything is yummy really. There is a little bit of a wait but that's only because it's fresh food. I definitely don't mind it. It's my families reliable stop while traveling.

We love this place, good old fashioned burger. Good value. Onion rings, fries and shakes also good. Admittedly we usually swing by after day of motocrossing, so we're pretty hungry. Also had a taco, which I think they used chili meat in, don't care, can't beat it for $1.50!

My wife and I really love this place, service is fast and the staff are very friendly and respectful and patient with you. The food is fresh and delicious. Thanks you guys and keep up the great work.

As good as you will find for comfort food. More extensive menu than expected. First visit, but I'll be back.

We have passed by so many times before and weren't able to stop. The line was ALWAYS so long so we knew we had to try it. When we finally got to stop recently, we got a bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, cheese sticks and a vanilla malt. The malt and burger were DELICIOUS and we wish we lived closer so we could eat it more often. My husband liked the onion rings but they weren't my cup of tea. Definitely recommend this to anyone in the area or anyone passing through Brenham.

Very beefy meaty burger. Love that the food isn't super salty and greasy. Everything was solid. Not the best ever, but definitely enjoyed it. The drive thru had 10-15 cars in it. I suggest you park, walk in, and take out instead of waiting.

Great burgers . Well they used to be better actually but they are still good. Only problem is by the time you get your food to go and home they are cold. The service is a little slow acknowledging you standing there.

This is the place we go to get delicious homemade Burger's. They are soooo delicious and fixed just the way you like. The fries and tater tots are also delicious. Never soggy. And the workers there are the best. Always polite and with a smile. They are always busy little bees back there working hard to take your order and doing their best to get your food as quickly as possible. We have tried other items on the menu as well and the good is always delicious but 95% of the time we stick to our different varieties of Burger's. And the prices are good for what you get.
