Thoroughly enjoyed going to this beach. Hadn't been to a dog beach before. It was so nice seeing all the puppers playing on the beach and in the water. Only downfall is they allow fishing. I think having fishing lines with hooks where animals are allowed is a horrible idea. This are should be blocked off for JUST the dogs and their families.

Decided to take our pup with us to the beach this time & he loved it! So many pups & their families. Everyone kept to their own space, were very respectful, the beach was extremely clean & it was one of the most relaxing evenings. We look forward to future visits!

Amazing! I had never been to a dog beach before but it was awesome. There was a decent amount of parking, plenty of space on the beach and before getting there. And it's not the place's fault a-hole people don't follow the rules and keep track of their dogs, so fair warning I saw quite a few dogs not leashed and for the most part they were fine except one that was running absolutely wild and peeing on people's stuff without the owner even trying to apologize or control their dog. But overall I love it because you see dogs of every kind, and no one is worried or looking at you so it feels more comfortable and relaxed for us out of shape people. Definitely recommend this place for those with fur babies but please clean up after and control your pets.

Canova Beach Park is a popular beach located in Indian River County, Florida. Gorgeous coastline and plenty of sunshine, making it the perfect spot for a beach day getaway. Dog owners can enjoy the ocean too and will find plenty of nearby areas to explore with their pup. The beach is also known for its stunning sunrises, locals get up early to catch them. There are plenty of amenities available at Canova Beach, including showers, restrooms, benches and a small playground, so you and your pet will be able to make the most of your visit.

Miles of dog beach! Lots of room to run and play with your fur babies! Soooo much fun to spend the mornings playing in the waves and letting your dog wear themselves out! Family friendly, clean. Please keep your dogs on a leash, we saw many without and if they have zero recall they need to be leashed. I believe leash laws apply here. Bring plenty of fresh water and clean up after your dog- which it appears most people do as we only saw a couple places that no one bothered to clean up. No fee to get onto the beach. A dog wash station, shower for humans, and restrooms as well as plenty of parking. There is even a ramp down to the beach for accessibility!

A very nice beach park with 3 entrances and amenities This is one of the many beach parks located along A1A. It happens to be located directly at the intersection of A1A and the East end of Eau Gallie Blvd. There is a light at this intersection so it is easy to get to, and depart from, this particular park. There is a parking lot with about 50 spaces for cars. There is a single building housing the restrooms right off the parking lot. To the south of the restrooms is a grassy area and a beach entrance. This is a dog-friendly park so this particular area is a good part for taking your furry friends both before and after their beach visit. To the north of the building is 2 more beach entrances. All are wooden walkways. The 2 on the north end are very pretty because the plants form a tunnel that you walk through to get to the beach. The beach here is very nice with a gentle slope about 60 feet to the water. Two of the walkways have stairs down to the beach and the other walkway is a ramp affair. They have held an Easter sunrise service from this location for several years and sometimes there is a food truck operating from the parking lot. Overall, it is a very nice place to go to the beach

Great place to bring your fur baby. Canova Beach is the only dog beach within 20 miles stretch along A1A and the dog beach area is about .4 miles. I enjoy the early Friday mornings when the beach is less crowed. The Local dogs are well behaved otherwise they shouldn't be there. I have never had a bad experience or encountered an aggressive dog, most just want to run and play as if they were at a dog park. Owners should be more courteous of picking up after their pups and most are good about it. Around 10am the crowd comes along, but I've already been there for about 2 hours so it's time to go. There are public bathrooms, waste station, and rinse area.

I like it here....downside we foster and adopt and are unsure how certain dogs will react to off leash dogs running up to them. I Haye to be that guy, but there are lots of off leash dogs here ....

The only way in and out for your 🐶 is a grand staircase (see video). Nothing really special about this section of the beach besides dogs are allowed. My boys enjoyed this area and made a few friends. The station to rinse the pups off is very limited. In other words, bring your dogs to the beach but you can't use the rest rooms unless you leave the dogs with someone else or a stranger... depends on how bad you have to go. Overall my visit was pleasant.

Dog beach entrance is to the far right of the park compound. There is a hose to rinse them off after they get all sandy and salty.

Beautiful beach. We had no problems with this beach at all. Warm sand beautiful waters. Plenty of space to spread out. Kids enjoyed wake boarding and swimming. The earlier you hit the beach the better. Can seem a little crowded during the weekend but during the week there's plenty of space for all your beaching needs. Enjoy, relax, breath.

Went down to check out the surf after Nicole. Waves cranking, sunshine bright and the sounds of childrens laughter abound. Did not realize they allowed dogs here as well. Lots of surfers, kids building sand castles, dogs chasing surf. Clean restrooms, well kept area.

Gorgeous spot to watch the sunrise. There is plenty of parking, bathrooms, two separate boardwalks to the beach, and a rinsing station to rinse sand off your feet before returning to your car.

I love this beach. I am there frequently for daybreak/sunrise. Increasingly, others have caught on but there is still enough room for everyone. This beach is peaceful and clean. There are homeless people who sleep under the walkway but I have not experienced any trouble with these people at all. Sunrise is absolutely beautiful here. What a way to start the day.

I needed a mental health break & decided to take a walk, on the beach. I just moved to the Eau Gallie area recently, so, I had never been to Canova Beach (I usually go to Spessard Holland or Sebastian) it was right before the sun went down.. so there was not a lot of people there.. there was tons of parking and it was Sunday night... usually there's a lot of trash on the beach from the weekend.... but surprisingly there was hardly any. There was a lot of seaweed only because there's that giant 5000 Mike long freak size blob of sargassum seaweed hitting the shore. So I don't think it's normally like we used to get it every summer in Broward county and when you shake it you can find little shrimps, crabs and lobsters and sometimes clownfish.... but I don't know about up here and especially with this abnormal amount.

Florida resident here who has been to a lot of beaches in the state. This beach is gorgeous. The waves are stronger than some of the other beaches I’ve been to, but tame enough for my 11 and 12 year old to play in. It kept them busy for hours with boogie boards. It’s nothing to see 3 waves breaking at a time. A sea turtle was spotted two of the days we were there. Enough shells to comb through but not so many as to be annoying under your feet. Busy at times, but later in the day you can almost have the beach to yourself. It’s up there with my favorite beaches in Destin and Siesta Key!

The beach itself is beautiful and popular with the locals. Dogs are welcomed ALL breeds (please keep your dog with you as much as possible) that being said some children or adults have issues with certain breeds, it's more of a courtesy than anything.((this is also my opinion and not a requirement))....It has shells for the enthusiastic shell collectors.

Darby loves this place. She loves the nice atmosphere of having other dogs there and thought it was nice of Brevard County to have a place where she and her kind can walk on the ocean and feel welcomed. 🐾

Lot's of fur babies having fun in the water. The surf is a little rough for us and comes in on an incline but as long as you have a water baby it's Great.

Beautiful beach, The entrance to the grove of trees is pretty cool. The bathrooms were nothing special, but functional. . The beach area is well maintained and there wasn't garbage laying about. When we were there the weather was warm but it wasn't sunny. My picture does not do the beach justice.

The weather here in FL is definitely bi-polar... Yesterday on the beach was nice and warm and today cold and windy, but still a gorgeous view. Beautiful beach to take a walk or jog to reflect or pray.

We really enjoyed ourselves. Except for an unleashed pitt mix that came over and riled up my little dogs, who were leashed. The dog even peed on our beach blanket and bag :( Otherwise it was a beautiful morning.

Good centrally located beach. Only one in town that is officially dog friendly. Parking can be tight on weekends. Nestled between hotels and nearby food spots. Across street from beachside Walmart if you need drinks or sunscreen

The homeless made it feel unsafe. However, I've never had any issues with them. Great place to bring your dog. The beach is clean.

This is a really great beach and the fact that you can bring your dog anytime you want makes it really nice. They had decent outside showering facilities and one for dogs.

It is quite possibly one of the best beaches I've been too. It is incredibly beautiful and clean. I came here with my 2 month old puppy and she loved it all the other dogs were so kind as well, they have poop bags that you can take to use to clean up.

👍👍 Very memorable experience and well worth the $57 ticket price! I thought it was kinda expensive, but after the first attraction I realized why they ask that price.
