My first visit to this cricket ๐Ÿ where I saw 3 t20s between England and west indies I have been to many venues gigs festivals cricket grounds etc around the world but never have I had security steal my lighter very weird would not of bother me but it was a gold clipper which was a gift from a loved one it was like you can't have that and Chuck it into a red box to me that was theft but what could I do but learn from it food was average and there was no prices written up even the staff didn't seen to know drinks ok 5 Barbados dollars for a can of banks and England lost nothing new there and would go back to see a test match in future with this experience under my belt.

Historical cricket ground that has a great atmosphere. Saw glimpses of the Windies of old as they put England to the sword on this day. Cottrell put in a great fast bowling performance. Holder captained the team well. Hetmyer has a bright future.

Fine cricket stadium but very poor scoreboard. Paid advertising seems more important than cricket situation. Wedding dresses? Just as we need the score it switched to other stuff.

A fantastic place to host outdoor events, I've been to conventions here and it was pretty good as an outdoor location with the cool breeze blowing but what it was built for is even better, cricket. Going to a cricket game at Kensington is something barbadians enjoy doing and have been doing for a very long long time. The world cup finals was held in Barbados in 2007 and the oval was renovated to what it is now. There is nothing like enjoying a match (t20 my favorite) at night as patrons come together to support their respective teams. The atmosphere comes alive and I encourage anyone to visit on a match day!

The Kensington Oval is a stadium located to the west of the capital city Bridgetown on the island of Barbados. It is the pre- eminent sporting facility on the island and is primarily used for cricket. [4][5] it has hosted many important and exciting cricket games between local, regional, and international teams during its more than 120-year history. Cricket at the Oval began in 1882 when the Pickwick Cricket Club assumed formal ownership of the ground.[6] The first international match held was in 1895 when Slade Lucas' side visited the island. The first Test match was held in January 1930, when the West Indies and England played to a draw. Since the genesis there have been a total of 43 Test matches played on the Kensington Oval grounds, 21 of those matches won by the West Indian cricket team. The new stadium has been commemorated through two 2007 Barbadian postage stamps.

Wow! I have always wanted to visit this famous cricket ground and now I have achieved it. The two statues outside of the ground namely Sir Garfield Sobers and Sir Wesley Winfield Hall are in need of a lick of paint - but plenty of opportunity to video and take photos. It's roughly a 20-25 minute walk from Broad Street - very straight forward.

Went to see โ€œhallowed groundโ€ - where the greats have played. They advertise guided tours every half hour and one enters through the the security gate. We were asked to pay US$10 per head for the tour. This is not advertised anywhere. When I asked for a ticket for the paid amount, the attendant seemed surprised at my request. She accused me of being difficult. When I refused to accompany the โ€œguideโ€, she reluctantly went somewhere inside and got an official receipt of the amount paid. No mention that this was for a โ€œvisitor tourโ€. I fear that if I had not asked for this, this amount would have gone unaccounted. Anyway, the guide was rather uninterested and motivated. She took us to a room and ran a video showing the history of the stadium. Took 10 minutes. After that we went to the Presidential box- pretty badly maintained. She then took us to the actual ground where the Barbados team was practicing. We saw the various stands and the pavilion. All from the ground. Took a round of the ground and we were then shepherded to the souvenir shop. Very slim pickings and really expensive. A fridge magnet for US$10- that was the cheapest item that we picked up. The whole tour was about half hour, but surely not worth what we paid for it.

Went to watch 3 of the T20 West Indies v England games here. Well organised getting into the ground. Need proof of i.d. and vaccines. Once inside the ground plenty of units selling food, drinks and souvenirs. Ground is a little dated . Good atmosphere. Good views of the game. Great days out.

Excellent venue, professional staff. People inside stadium need reminding to wear masks when not sat down. Stalls, food and drinks reasonably priced. Had a fab couple of days.

Wonderful cricket ground! There was a game going on when we visited so no tour was available, but this was more than made up for by the chats we had with some of the Barbadian Cricket Association members while watching. A truly lovely afternoon!

Great seats in 3W stands for Cricket! But concessions need organization, and competent vendors. Food okay , but to much waiting in small lines.
