The staff were all very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room was large and very comfortable, big shower and separate bath. Free parking. Great breakfast. And the one lunch we had there was also good.

Called in for lunch. The ploughman's lunch was presented with 1/4 of a fresh tomatoe,1/2 of a pickled onions few leaves and a small amount of cheese plus bread. Who cuts a pickled onion in half ? I can only assume that they are extremely expensive and rare. I settled for the cheeseburger which was returned because it was raw inside. In fact it looked like it had bypassed the cooking and just walked past a sunny window. My meal was refunded but I can say that after many meals over a number of years, that was our last at the Bridport arms

Unfortunately our experience was vary bad. The only thing that saved our stay was the evening meal and the waitress. We had a frosty reception and not served properly at breakfast, ended up not having anything. The room was very basic and the windows did not shut properly, so it was cold all night! Radiators couldn't cope. Wouldn't come back and cannot recommend.

New rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was poor Only hot food was bacon and eggs and poached eggs were cold, served on a cold plate. Set out of serving stations were very far apart. Meats, cheese and salmon not covered. No-one came to check if everything was ok. Shame the food let's down the great rooms.

Went for our wedding anniversary meal there the food was nice but not quite as good as our last visit in October 2021. The service was efficient ..so efficient that they forgot to ask us if we would like a dessert! I would advise booking as it is a popular venue.

Lovely pub in West bay. Sandwiches are very good reasonably priced with plenty of filling. Dogs allowed inside on the tiled floor only but this covers 3/4 of the pub so plenty of room for them.

Beautiful meal on our first day in West Bay, staff friendly, was clean. Menu limited at lunchtime but they were accommodating in providing my granddaughter with a suitable sandwich. The meals are huge!! Drinks incredibly expensive... £6.40 for a pint of cider!

Great place, nice cosy atmosphere. Fantastic location by the harbour and the east beach. Stocks the all. Important Palmers ale which is the best a man can get. Bit pricier for a pint than some other West bay pubs but friendly staff, comfortable. Seating and a warm welcome always. Recommend

The food was just exceptional. I had the fish and chips which was the best battered fish I've honestly ever had. Feedback was just as good all round the table. Chips were perfect as well. All were exceptional portions. Only one negative I would say is the size of the child's burger, that Def needs changing just as constructive feedback. Service was friendly and very efficient as well. Great work team. Just please change those burgers. Hopefully see you again next day or two before we go.

Booked to stay at the last minute, but the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We stayed in a studio room, which was super clean and had a view of the sea. Lots of lovely luxury details in the room. The pub itself has a great atmosphere and does good food. A special thank you to the staff who helped us out at breakfast! We will definitely be visiting again.

My sister and I had the mussels and the fish stew, of which we were super happy with! Mussels are the best I've had in years, mega juicy and local (from Lyne Bay about a mile or so away). Service was great and overall a really nice atmosphere. We'll be coming again when next on holiday. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Came to Bridport Arms for lunch while doing a quick visit to some filming sites in the area. Popped in and was seated immediately. Got myself a classic Fish & Chips. Fish was well cooked and a good sized portion. Chips were delicious. Very good vibes in the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Just ate and drank. Lovely food and beer. Bartender let me try before I buy. Had to ask for a coffee we ordered twice but very friendly service.

Looking at the other reviews it looks like we really hit a bad night. Nice looking place, friendly welcome and dog friendly too. Was getting rather late for the little one and we really needed to have dinner. Drinks were ordered and seemed to take forever and then, the coke was as flat as anything. I suppose the £8 for a kids burger and chips didn't seem too bad, until it turned up, dry, over cooked and the size of ping pong ball. However had the same size portion of chips as all the adult meals. Ribs was a basic meal, baby Ribs, chips and coleslaw. £18. Small fish at £12 and small it was. I hate leaving poor reviews, but we left with a dent in the wallet and a very bad feeling for the evening. When you see the empty places in todays climate, its no wonder why. Unfortunately it was our first and very last visit to this establishment, better value at the donut 🍩 stalls.

We stayed for one night this weekend while we attended a wedding down the road and had a fantastic time. Check in was quick and easy, the lovely lady who showed us to our room was very helpful. The room was huge, clean and very comfortable, with a beautiful spotless bathroom - also huge! Bed was very comfortable and soft, as were the towels. When we told the lady at check in we couldn't stay for breakfast because we had to get back early for our children, she offered to leave some cereal, fruit and milk in our room the night before so we could have something early, and said we could just leave our key in the room rather then trying to find someone early to check out - which was incredibly kind. When we got back from the wedding the fridge was filled with juice, yoghurt and milk, with pastries wrapped up and cereal for the morning. What fantastic service! We had expected to just miss out, but it was much appreciated that we didn't have to. Thoroughly recommend the lovely rooms here and hope we'll be able to stay a little longer in the future as it was a beautiful area. A lovely relaxing night away. Thank you.

Just reviewing the food and service as we were staying elsewhere in West Bay. We visited three times over four nights and were given a warm welcome and served most excellent food on every occasion. The fish and chips, vegan burger and salmon were all delicious and made even better being accompanied with the local Haze Gold cider! Thanks to all the team for your stirling efforts :)

Hotel has recently been renovated our room was lovely, king size bed, dressing gowns, coffee machine, fridge, as well as all the other little extras in the room, made for a very pleasant stay. Evening meal was lovely and breakfast fabulous too, all good quality food. All the staff were very accommodating, and made sure that you had everything you needed. West Bay itself is a lovely Chesil Beach location, with a great vintage emporium to explore amongst other shops, a chilled small fishing harbour town. We loved our visit

Great hotel right on the beach. We had a 1 night stay in a lovely, newly refurbished room - done to a high standard with some nice extras. Great breakfast with lovely croissants. Perfect spot to appreciate the coast & all that West Bay has to offer. All the staff were very friendly. Thank you - we will definately be back & have already recommended to others ♥

The hotel is a small boutique hotel with 12 guest rooms and a restaurant, with great attention to detail from high quality room amenities to kind and helpful staff. It is located right on the West Bay beach, with some rooms offering a view to the sea. The breakfast was a combo of buffet and cooked to order and on lunch and dinner time the restaurant food was inventive and tasty, sea food catches of the day, other fish, meat and vegetarian mains and a nice selection of smaller dishes. The staff was super friendly and attentive, remembering what we already had eaten on previous meals and suggesting new options.

What a super hotel. Friendly helpful staff, really good food and the rooms are delightful. The beds are the best too. Every detail has been thought of while the refurb is in progress. Loved it.

A genuinely enjoyable stay in a great location, with just one minor quibble: one of the windows in our room wasn't proof against the rain, so the inside windowsill gained a puddle overnight. Soaked some clothing but no harm done. The staff here were happy to cater to our late arrival, and they even kept the kitchen open so that we could order dinner. The food is good and we had no problem with checking out early the next morning. The room itself was nice, window problem aside. The bed was great and the bathroom was very high quality. Honestly zero complaints at all - we enjoyed our stay!

Great location right on the beach. The rooms are of a very high standard. Large bed, good quality bed linens and nice touches in the room with Dyson hair dryer and selection of coffees Food was delicious, nice breakfast with good choice of items. Very kind and friendly staff made the stay special. Only slight issue is that the green light on the emergency lighting is really bright at night. They supply earplugs for the noise, maybe eye masks could be included.

In March 2022, my wife-to-be booked 6 rooms here for family and friends to stay the night to celebrate our wedding in August 2023. We’d booked a nearby restaurant for our meal and paid a substantial, non-refundable deposit for the meal. Subsequently, the Bridport Arms went into new ownership and issued a statement on Facebook to announce refurbishment of the rooms which would take 6 months (June/July). At around the same time, they emailed us to say that they were cancelling our booking due to refurbishment of rooms which would be completed “at some point this year”. My wife-to-be emailed them to explain the situation and received a short, sharp response containing no acknowledgement or apology. She tried to find replacement accommodation but all local accommodation was already booked up. With nowhere for 6 families to now stay, we have had to cancel our meal booking at our chosen restaurant which has resulted in the loss of the non-refundable deposit. And in pointing this out to the Bridport Arms by way of Trip Advisor and Facebook reviews, the Bridport Arms have simply had her reviews deleted. This is cowardly behaviour. It leads one to wonder whether they were refurbishing the rooms with a view to increasing the price, and cancelling our booking because they knew they could re-advertise the same rooms at a higher price than that which we we’re going to pay under the previous booking.

It's a shame that the new owners haven't taken it upon themselves to honour our booking (made in March 2022) to accommodate 14 of our wedding guests this August, some of whom are travelling from Scotland and Kent. The email response from the new owners of The Bridport Arms was shameful: "Hello Sarah, When we reopen the rooms will be adults only and no dogs. Regards". No acknowledgement of the upset or inconvenience that they have caused, no apology and they didn't even bother to answer any of my questions that I had asked. The accommodation that is left in West Bay (very little) in August is not suitable for all of our guests, meaning that I have had no other choice but to cancel our wedding meal at The Station Kitchen and find an alternative to both, resulting in financial loss due to non-refundable deposits placed. Disgusting behaviour from the new owners of The Bridport Arms, we will never return.

Only went in for meal. Although short staffed the service and food was first rate. Helpful friendly staff and speedy delivery of food. Good choice on menu for food and drink. Thanks to all staff.

Great location, right on the harbour. We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a deluxe king room with a harbour view, the bed was very comfortable and I slept like a log. The windows were slightly dirty with forehead/hand prints but like us we did look out the window for quite a while! We had a tasty meal in the restaurant and a filling breakfast in the morning. Fabulous selection of quality cereals and jams and full English ingredients. The staff work incredibly hard, the Scottish lady and chef were working till late and back on parade early the next morning.

Dropped in for drinks but most probably never again. San Miguel and Amstel at least £1.00 a pint too much - no excuse that some place down the road is charging more!!! Diners seemed happy with the meals but we were happy to walk 40 minutes to the Wetherspoons in Bridport for the usual great drinks at sensible prices in pleasant surroundings.

A lovely place to stop to eat. I've eaten here a few times. It's always been good food and good service. A nice friendly place for food or a drink. Food is always very nice and served in a good time.

Great friendly staff. Food not so good but that is because they don't have a full time chef. I am sure once they sort that out then the quality of food will be better.
