Great place, good value been here many times for family meals, girls nights drinks, breakfasts, lunches and even just for a coffee. However this evening I was blown away by a member of staff who has always seemed sweet but made such an effort with my son this evening, he has complex needs and sometimes finds eating out a struggle when tired or when places are crowed. The place being a bank hol was very busy and loud. The young lady I believe her name tag said “jay” (wavy black hair, glasses and beautiful tattoos). Kept us up to date with our order and when she saw my son was feeling overwhelmed, she spoke very calmly to him and reassured him that his food would be there soon just the way he liked it and each time she passed him she gave a big smile and told him she had not forgot him and managed to distract him in a nice way. The food came and was as tasty as ever! My family and I love this place. Affordable food/drinks with lovely staff. 👍🏻

A great Wetherspoons located in the centre of Brighton.. whilst in Brighton for Pride weekend we popped into many bars although we ended up frequenting here regularly. The place was extremely busy with barely a spare table/chair on any of our visits. We enjoyed Traditional Breakfasts on one of the mornings, at £4.99, great value for money. (Ignore the fact the menu shows as The Bright Helm, they had the wrong name showing, albeit put signs up everywhere to ensure people knew where they were especially when ordering on the App) The pub had the usual Wetherspoons decor and was heavily invested in supporting and celebrating Pride, great to see. 🏳️‍🌈🌈 The staff were utterly amazing, super friendly and so helpful (especially in terms of assisting with charging my phone, thank you). Even though the staff were rushed off their feet they remained friendly and happy. The security staff were also friendly too. The whole place was welcoming and really helped us enjoy Pride even more... thank you. Overall, great location, good value for money, fantastic staff and service. Based on the three Wetherspoons within Brighton this is our favourite.. followed by The West Quay at the Marina. I would not bother visiting The Bright Helm, no way near the same vibe.

Great Wetherspoons, there is always space here even on Fridays or Saturdays. This is the only wetherspoons i know that has refunded peoplebwhen their order didnt come through or they couldn't give it. Your average spoons, pretty cheap and my favourite thing of all (Au Gold Blue Raspberry vodka) has been £1.99 for a single since the start of summer. The deal was extended another month and it's such a good deal, you can get the same amount of units as a bottle brought from the shop PLUS free mixer as well If you are going here after 31st Oct (when the deal ends) i would most definitely reccomnd the Sheepdog peanut butter whiskey liquer. Its 3.39 for a double and it is so good and about 35% strength too. The only downside i have is that the toilets are upstairs as well as you have too get too the pub through 3 or 4 steps which isnt very accessible friendly. But overall great pub and I'd reccomend it more than the one down the road (Brighthelm)

Normal spoons. It's only good for a cheap beer like others I've been to better. No atmosphere, boring, but I have given it 4 stars instead of the normal 3 because of the chicken wings I had. They were probably the best wings I've ever had. Even better than wing stop.

All day small brunch and a pint of ale. Always good value and the beer and food is tasty and fast. The venue is larger than it looks with seating on ground level, on this mid level landing and upstairs. Staff were great, as always.

I do like weather spoons. Every time I travel I visit 1 or more, Unfortunately breakfast not up to scratch, 😕, BUT they do large quantities, and you can't please everyone, I usually do like a a breakfast now n then, but fair play, they offered me a refund, in full or another breakfast, Instead, they gave me a voucher, They were VERY polite to me, and they were attentive to my needs. Thankyou, For all the hard work the staff, continually do every single day 😁👍

A classic Weatherspoon experience id say. To add to it, Christmas cheer! I ordered fish and chips. The chips really are giant size most places here in Brighton. The fish was well cooked but toasty. The food and beverage combo prices are the best part of this place and then the service.

Great pub! Good location, friendly staff, reasonable prices. The interior and exterior are lovely. The building dates back to the 1920s. Plenty of seating that covers two floors. Restrooms are upstairs, but there is a handicapped restroom on the ground floor as well as handicapped accessible entrance. It was a busy pub, but the bar staff were on top of things so orders were fulfilled in a timely manner. Definitely the better JD Wetherspoon pub of the two that are in Brighton.

I've been to the Post and Telegraph many times, mainly because it's near to an old friend, who can easily toddle to it from her flat. But also because - as most of its faithful clientele knows - it serves a good range of wine, beer, and spirits at very, very reasonable prices! So, if you fancy a bottle of beer (but wine by glass only), why pay more? The P&T offers you a cheerful, no-frills, cheap drink and food experience. My chum and l ate medium rare steaks with Mediterranean salad, a third pal had the Katsu chicken with rice, and we had a total of 4 White Zinfandel rosè, and one Heineken (no Peroni available that day). It was all perfectly good, and the whole lot around £35, although we added a gratuity for our cheerful server - one of the many truly helpful staff. It's also fine to bring kids, although they won't be able to see outside much, unlike a lot of family-oriented places, and yes, it is usually pretty loud and noisy! Once you accept that's how it is, l can say l've never had anything but very nicely-cooked food, served efficiently.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Wetherspoon, and overall, I had a pleasant experience. Wetherspoon is a popular chain of pubs in the United Kingdom, known for its affordable prices and relaxed atmosphere. Here is my review of my visit to Wetherspoon. First and foremost, the atmosphere at Wetherspoon was welcoming and laid-back. The pub had a casual vibe, making it an excellent place to unwind with friends or enjoy a quiet drink alone. The interior was clean and well-maintained, with comfortable seating arrangements and ample space to move around. Whether you prefer a cozy booth or a spot at the bar, Wetherspoon provides a suitable setting for everyone. One of the standout features of Wetherspoon is its extensive drinks menu. They offer a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to cater to different preferences. From ales and lagers to spirits and cocktails, the selection is impressive. Additionally, they have a commendable range of non-alcoholic options, including soft drinks, mocktails, and even non-alcoholic beers. Whatever your beverage of choice, Wetherspoon has something to satisfy your thirst. When it comes to the food, Wetherspoon offers a diverse menu with something for everyone. Whether you're in the mood for a classic pub dish like fish and chips or a hearty burger, or even a vegetarian or vegan option, you're likely to find it here. The prices are affordable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The quality of the food was decent, although it may not be gourmet dining, it's more than satisfactory for a casual pub experience. One of the standout aspects of Wetherspoon is its value for money. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the central locations of many of their pubs. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a budget-friendly place to socialize, especially in areas where other establishments can be quite expensive. The staff at Wetherspoon were friendly and attentive. They promptly took our orders and were helpful in answering any questions we had. Despite the pub being relatively busy, the service was efficient, and we didn't have to wait too long to receive our food and drinks. However, one downside worth mentioning is that Wetherspoon can get quite crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends. This can lead to longer wait times and a higher noise level, which may not be ideal if you're seeking a quieter atmosphere. It's best to plan your visit accordingly or consider visiting during off-peak hours if you prefer a more relaxed environment. In conclusion, Wetherspoon offers a pleasant pub experience with its welcoming atmosphere, extensive drinks menu, and diverse food options. It's an excellent choice for those looking for an affordable and enjoyable place to socialize with friends or grab a drink after work. Despite some potential crowding during busy times, I would highly recommend Wetherspoon for its overall value and relaxed ambiance.

By far the worst Wetherspoons experience for me nationwide. I ordered Ham, Egg & Chips. The egg had two pieces of shell stuck inside it, the ham had a piece of blue plastic on it and the chips were severely underdone. To drink I had a pint of Guiness which was terrible. Afterwards I decided to wash it down with a raspberry vodka and lemonade which was served with a slice of lemon which I didn’t want or ask for, in a chipped glass. Full of scummy football supporters throughout.

very busy, I ordered on the app and when our meal came, Jacket potato with 5 bean filling which was warm at best. my wife complained when asked if everything OK ad there were literally 5 beans on each potato. we were brought out a small additional bowl of 5 bean filling between us, also I ordered lime cordial in my larger and the server said we have no cordial so because you ordered on the app we can't refund you ? I asked for some fresh lime instead and he brought some out....

I only popped in for a drink with a friend. The disabled toilets were easily accessible and fairly clean which is always appreciated. It was busy when we visited, but the server bought our drinks over within five minutes (we ordered on the app which is very easy to use). Overall aside from the table being fairly sticky it was a good experience

Just been here for lunch. I have been in Wetherspoons all over the country but this one I won't be back. The bar itself was fine but they need to find a new chef! The food was cold and I am a picky eater so I ordered a burger and chips the burger bun was hard and stale and I couldn't even put the fork through it. The onion rings and chips were cold. Not up to Wetherspoons usual standard.

As far as Spoons go, this is a pretty good one! The staff are all friendly and fast (poor badgers) and there's some nice seats out of the way upstairs but they like to close this off around 10ish. This one has a much nicer vibe than the one down the road more towards the seafront. It's the only place in Brighton where you can get off your face for a tenner.

Decent place for a quick stop for lunch while exploring Brighton. Food: I had the pasta Alfredo and it was clearly microwaved as the pasta was crunchy in the bottom of my plate and stuck to it. Despite that it was a nice meal but don't come here if you expect your food to be made fresh. Atmosphere: As a neurodivergent person (ASD) this was not my favorite restaurant. It's big and it definitely is a chain restaurant. It was extremely busy and loud so I had my head phones in the entire lunch time to block out some of the noise and to be able to make some conversation with my lunch partner. It's also not the cleanest place. The table was sticky (my phone literally stuck to the table) and the toilets looked and smelled like they hadn't been cleaned in days. Service: the bar was very busy and so I let my lunch partner handle all the ordering. Not all food from the menu was available and so we couldn't get what we wanted and had to order something else. It feels like the place is a bit understaffed. When food was brought out it was quickly shoved on the table before the server ran off again to do other things. Wouldn't mind trying another whether spoons but this one specifically I'll skip next time.

My favourite of the 2 spoons in the city centre, it is spacious and never as busy as The Bright Helm. Service is speedy even when on the app. However, if you're ordering for yourself, you might as well go the bar as it's always quicker. Furniture is dated, and the room gets dark in some spots, so it can sometimes feel dingy at times, but this shouldn't deter you from visiting.

As always, cheap beer and reasonable food quality and price. Very busy pub and in desperate need for a clean and refurbishment. More staff required too and some table cleaning.

Nipped in for a quick drink and burger before theatre. To say the burger was underwhelming, drink lush. Ordered at table where a fantastic waiter dragged all my items up the stairs. Toilets were clean. Didnt stay long..given an extra star because of the waiter.

It is what it is. Good breakfast freshly cooked and served with a smile. Downstairs coffee machine out of order and not easy for a couple of our party to make the stairs for only working machine. But you can refill as often as you like.

Standard Wetherspoon. The food is as good as usual, the place is nice (Wetherspoon usually gets nice buildings) and the staff is friendly. The price is good as well.
