The staff were mostly inattentive. They’d walk past you or stand near you (not doing too much) and actively avoid making eye contact so they wouldn’t have to serve you. There are some obviously high mark-ups (poor value for money) in the menu. It seems a lot of it (especially desserts, burgers, breaded dishes) was just frozen and reheated. The grilled fish and starters were all ok, but that’s the least you can expect for the prices. I’d recommend going to giggling squid, the salt room, or riddle and fins over the regency.

If you're near the sea, having fish is almost a must to get. Because of that, I chose to go to Regency Restaurant after seeing some previous reviews and it was by no means a mistake. It was fantastic there with excellent food and very friendly staff.

The perfect seaside restaurant has been an Italian family run business since the 1930s. You are welcomed and waited on with perfection! The food is so authentic and fresh that it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside x We had heard wonderful things and yes it certainly was a wonderful place to take our family to. The oysters were sublime, especially with a glass of champagne. Everything else we ordered may have seemed simple in the ingredients, but it was made with pure love and Italian culinary skills that are handed down from generation to generation. We felt privileged to be able to dine there, and the staff were extremely attentive and funny. It was buzzing in there, and nothing was too much to ask. I've never seen a service that good, to be honest. The drinks were on your on your table within a few minutes, and the food followed as quickly as you wanted it to even though it was packed, you were treated as if you only the ones there. We can't wait to go back. It's a proper treat, especially for fish lovers. Highly recommended.

We stayed at a hotel Just right beside this hotel and in their brochure they recommended this restaurant, and after reading all the incredible reviews we decided to order from here. We got room service. Let’s just say this place did not disappoint. The sea bass arrived to our room nice and hot and well presented. The fish was Devine, and just falling from the skin. Just made perfectly. So soft. The Greek salad 🥗 small but delicious and added an extra flavour to all what was going on. Impressed and even better I could eat in my own room in peace and comfort. I would have liked the dishes to have lids over them, but not a huge deal. Highly recommend this restaurant if you like fish for sure.

It's such a nice sea food restaurant. I tried the sword fish and the portion is somewhat on the small side I was not disappointed with the taste. I'll definitely go again there when I pass through Brighton. My dish is in the last pic and the rest are my friends or the starters.

Nice place! Walked by and the food looked yummy and well priced. Seafood tastes very fresh- that's the main selling point. Oysters and fish and chips were lovely- risotto was a real treat. Calamari could have done with some seasoning- main issue was the curry sauce was so so bad- very strange tasting and not like the traditional. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They have lots of pictures of celebrities who have visited on the way down to the toilets- definitely worth a look when you're there!

Beautifully cooked seafood at a seafront restaurant. Solid classic dishes, nothing fancy, just cooked right to bring out the full flavour of fresh seafood. The whitebait was plump and lightly breaded, the skate was perfectly cooked in a simple but tasty white wine and caper sauce. My partner's swordfish steak was also lovely. Service was friendly despite being very busy. There was a lively buzz throughout the restaurant. Bathroom was clean. Prices reasonable. Will definitely come here again when we're next in the area.

Good fish and chips Ordered the fish and chips and I have to say it was good. It was not greasy and the fish was tender. The chips will also great and nicely cooked. As for the service, for a 12.5 service charge, the staff were very rude, unbothered and the service is below average. Better than some other fish and chips places in Brighton but there are cheaper and better service somewhere else.

If I could give The Regency more than 5 stars, I would . Service is impeccable , could not fault the staff in any way. They’re very attentive , fast and interactive which makes the atmosphere a more pleasurable experience . A lot of the staff were talking to us , cracking jokes and just all of them are overall nice people . The food is also incredible , the lobster and scallops were very fresh and delicious . We also had passionfruit martinis , crème brûlée , banoffee pie and Irish coffees which were all fantastic. In terms of food and staff, there is nothing to fault, it was a great experience and the price is definitely worth it as the quality of the food and drinks are brilliant. My family and I will always make sure to visit this restaurant every time we come down to Brighton.

One of our favourite seafood restaurants... If we ever go to Brighton this is the place to visit. Amazing food, well cooked, nicely served and delicious in flavour. The team are friendly and hard working and smiling at all times and the atmosphere is just incredible. We enjoyed a lovely end of day to our day out in Brighton on Sunday with the family for a lovely fulfilling meal. Do check this place out if your a real seafood fan.. You won't regret it! I almost gave the food a 3, but it was a good fresh piece of cod. The light batter on my fish and chips was crispy but flat in flavor. The chips were very traditional. However, I feel as if I used a lot of salt in them, but I'm not sure if that was just me or real. The atmosphere and staff are second to known, I'd recommend this place and would love to give the other seafood items a try.

Visited for a pre valentines day meal and ordered the seafood platter extravaganza. It was extremely generous and tasty. Service was quick and there was always a waiter on hand. The champagne which came with the platter was really good quality. Would definitely Visit again

We sat at a great table right up front with a view of the sea. Had a series of starters from the menu which has a great selection of seafood options. I would highly recommend the scollops special on the board which was cooked in a sesame chill oil and a nice twist on traditional seafood flavours. The food was all fresh and served piping hot. The staff were also friendly with prompt service.

Love this restaurant. I always come here whenever I go to Brighton. Very affordable prices too. I would always go here than the other fish & chips outlets around the beach.

Memorable. We were happy to have spent between £400-£500 here. Fantastic restaurant. Our experience here was probably the best I have experienced. If you are wanting quality then this is the place to be. The staff were fantastic and the company we were sharing the evening with were even better. We shall definitely be returning for sure. The food was amazing as well as the three bottles of champagne. 10 stars!

We were greeted well by a young lady and offered a choice of tables with her recommendation. Her service was very good, very friendly & used her memory to note our different options and requests. The food arrived very quickly, I had the cod & chips with garden peas, and must say it was cooked to perfection. Thanks very much for a lovely lunch, we’ll definitely be back we we’re next in the area.

My friends and I had dinner here on a weekend night as a highly recommended restaurant in Brighton. We were never disappointed as all the food we ordered were very delicious. It was the perfect night for us surrounded by superb seafood, all customers laughing, enjoying their meals and friendly staff. We’re a group of 4 and we got 3 platters (mediterranean, grilled and fried). oh, had the seafood risotto as well since most tables got it. We will definitely go back!

As those reviews stated, this place is not very satisfying. We ordered seafood platter and risotto, they were all just average. Lobsters are good,but the rest mussels are the worst, with a strong fishy odor. We went there all hopeful and starving, and ended up disappointed and only half full. It can’t compare with any other seafood restaurant I ever tried in London. This place is obvi overrated and overpriced.

If you think seafood must be good near the seaside, it will be the wrong place to eat here. Prawns cocktail - even without a cocktail glass, only very small prawns. Grilled fish platers - fish are very dry.

Nice and fresh food, great view on a seafront and professional staff. We were served by a French waiter who was very attentive and friendly. The seafood salad was just the best !

The restaurant was really busy and one of my friends’ dish wasn’t served 15 min after all the others’ were served. Awks. Scallop and mussel were good, the others are nothing too impressive.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Regency Restaurant in Brighton, and I must say, the seafood was absolutely amazing. The freshness and quality of the seafood dishes were evident in every bite. From succulent lobster to perfectly cooked prawns and mouthwatering fish, each dish showcased the chef's expertise and attention to detail.

we ate dinner here, the fish was really fresh and the chips crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. the portions were more than enough. the service was great, our waitress was really nice and asked more than one time if everything was okay. the only cons is that even though we had a reservation we had to wait a little bit. but the wait was worth it.

Nice seafood restaurant in Brighton. Its the oldest seafood restaurant there. Fresh fish cooked well. Clean restaurant and staff are professional. It gets very busy and I felt we were rushed. That's the reason I didn't score 5. I had the swordfish supreme, and my friend had the skate with white wine and caper sauce. These meals were delicious and perfectly cooked. The whitebait and scampi was nice. I do recommend this restaurant.

Good, especially the fish was very fresh. I wouldn't say it is particularly special though. Though it has a good view if you can sit outside or near the front windows.

Amazing seafood. Starters are quite generous, had we known we wouldn't have ordered the platters for our mains. All in all, great food, prime location and great service. What more can you ask for!

One of a kind brilliance. The spaghetti lobster is the best that you can find in the UK. The lobster is fresh, the sauce is slightly tangy, but a perfect pairing with the white meat, and the bloody mary's are made so that you add your preferred amount of Tabasco and Worcester sauce, superb. From the pictures, you can also see that I had a cote de Rhone. The wine has always been excellent here, and affordable. I also love the service - attentive, but never pushy. No rush and no push, just perfect. The owner is a genuine soul, funny and just a pleasure to be around. We've known him for many years and it is always great to see him, no matter how long the gap in time. Cocktails, such as the espresso Martini, possibly the best in Brighton at half the price. I've eaten in many seafood restaurants around the world, and I still rate the Regency restaurant as one of the best. Genuinely good food and the best hospitality, with spectacular sea views.

Lovely little place overlooking the sea front. If you are fan of Fish definitely recommended. Fresh seafood at reasonable prices ❗Portions bit small. However the presentation is fantastic & the atmosphere very holiday like. If you here you have to try Chips 🍟❗one of the best chips I ate in ANY restaurant EVER.

A seafood restaurant placed in a prime location between the town centre and the beachfront. This restaurant was super busy so had to give it a try. Food was pretty decent. we had the seafood platter and seabass. all delicious. the asparagus starter was very basic and not worth it. The fish pie was average. stick to the platter or seabass. Staff did their job. I'd visit once and then try some others next time.

Generally taste alright not the best pasta or oyster but good view. The service was average could be better when there is a 12.5% service charge.

It is pretty good restaurant , reasonble price, friendly staff, fish are nice and fresh, and I must say cook very nicely, eventhough it is know for seafood, the spagetthis sauce are suprisingly great , enjoy my meal here
