😠 Stingy. The food I ordered was lousy to be honest. I always like it here but there has been some serious reduction in serving sizes and small portion of chicken in the fajita mix. Its sad to see a good restaurant go stingy. It now feels like a rip off. This pic is what i was served People often mention great, good, service, drinks, cocktails, staff, restaurant, night, amazing, recommend,

Great little Mexican place in the middle of the city. Unfortunately being in the middle of the city, the surrounding ambiance is not great, especially given that this is a mainly outdoor restaurant. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The cafe and restaurant are connected and we could order food from both whilst seated on one side. The table QR code order options also make it easy to order. The burritos were slightly smaller than I anticipated which was a little bit disappointing. Fortunately I ordered a side of tacos which was really needed to top up the volume not covered by the burrito. The beef, pork, and fish taco fillings were all quite good. So was the cauliflower which was surprisingly tasty.

I definitely recommend Comuna Cantina for an incredible night out filled with amazing Mexican food and wonderful cocktails. The tacos were some of the best I've ever had and the cocktails were creative, colourful and delicious. The restaurant was gorgeous with a cool bar and aesthetic decorations.

3.5 ⭐ fun setting, great place for drinks and lovely service. Menu has a lot of variety however pricing is expensive. We tried the: 🌯 Halloumi chips - can't go wrong, these were so good 🌯 Taco bowl - pretty basic and generic bowl, nothing spectacular, wish there was more sauce 🌯 Chargrilled chicken bowl - nice seasoning however some bits of the chicken was dry, again nothing too spectacular

To be asked if we wanted table service or to use the app was the BEST start to our experience. More places should get their waiters to do this. Drinks and food were great, quick to come out. Not much atmosphere as not many people but that's not their fault! Second visit to CC and will be back.

Had my birthday here for the bottomless brunch. It is a 2 hour package, in an hour and a half we got one round of ‘bottomless’ margaritas. Our order had been forgotten twice, initially waited 30 minutes before we even got served after staring at 2 bowls of corn chips. We finally got our second round of drinks 30 minutes before the end of the booking. One friend had to ask three times where his food order was. Finally, after complaining twice to seperate waiters - they dumped two rounds of margaritas and two jugs at the table all at once so they all went warm and people had to force them down, over the space of an hour after the booking - we ended up leaving half of it there. The QR code for the bottomless brunch package doesn’t give you the ability to order, and limits the food menu heavily. On the menu it states ‘any tap beer’ but when we asked for one of the tap beers we were told no. When we asked for share jugs one waiter told us no then the other told us yes. 20 minute wait to use the bathroom as they only have two unisex toilets available. We ended up walking to Woolworths at MacArthur central (two blocks away) to use the bathroom in the middle of the brunch because it was quicker. I spent the entire of my birthday lunch stressed, confused, and staring at every waiter to try and get their eye contact so I could flag them down. It got to the point where my friends were also complaining for me. Truly disappointing experience, l’m just glad it wasn’t a milestone to remember. I can empathise with understaffing, especially at this time of year, and one waitress (who I think was the manager) did explain that - she was nice and I felt for her being busy and understaffed. However there were tables around us getting a lot more attention, and the waiter that was mostly in charge of our table literally walked away mid-me ordering and didn’t finish my order. The more I think about the experience the more awestruck I am at how many things could go wrong in one event. Called multiple times over the space of three days regarding my booking, emailed two seperate services and left voicemail to no response, so had to show up and wing it.

We had share plates and the baked cauliflower. They were very tasty and served very quick. Many cocktails were had, so flavoursome. The selection of food and cocktails were great and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Definitely recommend Comuns Cantons as a place for a quick lunch or afternoon cocktails.

It was my first time to Comuna and I wanted to give it 5 stars Before I had started with the food! I don't really like using qr codes to order, so I asked for a Menu and Laura was more than happy to assist. She was so friendly and genuinely hospitable, the kind of girl that every parent would be proud of. My meal (which was delicious) was served to me by Maria who was remarkably good at her job. I thoroughly recommend this place. I will be back .

Nice Mexican bites, with a stylish design. There’s both cocktails and a range of mocktails on offer. I’d highly recommend Bubblegum Sour and Smokey Lychee and would definitely be back to try out more cocktails.

The girls and I popped in for end of year work drinks and nibbles on a whim. We booked a table for 5 and were warmly welcomed by our host and escorted to alfresco tables. Food and drinks are ordered via the QR codes on the tables and service is polite and prompt. Super handy as you order and pay individually so no problems splitting bills. If you all order within 2 minutes or so of each other, they make sure meals/drinks all come out together rather than one or two people awkwardly waiting while everyone else digs in. The atmosphere of this place is definitely a vibe. The colours and decor are a delight. You get to sit outside completely protected from the heat or downpour and simply enjoy watching life whilst enjoying some seriously great cocktails. We're definitely making this a regular wind down spot.

Everything just prefect from i step into the restaurant. The asmophere is fabulous. Staff are always welcome. The food is good for sharing. They provide a large variety of beverages to chose. From cocktail to soft drinks. The beverage are so beautiful. The only complaint is so hard to chose from the drink menu.

We are still sitting the restaurant and felt the need to review now because we were so impressed with the service, quality of cocktails and food and knowledge of the bartenders. So bummed we found this place on the last day of our holiday. Keep doing what you’re doing. We’ll be back when we visit next :)

This is the first time I’ve been to comuna and I love it. It has a great atmosphere, really good music and staff. I had the 3 tacos and I could pick 3 different fillings. These are the best tacos I’ve had. Lamb Ragu, fish, and crispy chicken. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back. I went past the other day and they had a big clear tent. I don’t like it. It looks kind of cheap compared to rest of the restaurant.

So basically it's a decent but expensive Mexican restaurant ( Quality and taste of food vs the price you pay for it) I got a chicken burrito today for lunch and I have had way better burritos for $( burrito I got here was more on the bland side and the dip it came with was meh). The atmosphere is decent, service was spot on, plenty of outdoor seating arrangement but the taste vs the price I am paying made it a deal breaker! I guess it's more of a place for drinks and snacks than actual lunch /meal.

Everything is so bang on here! We had 6 different cocktails in our time here and each of them were great little flavour bombs, plus the food was yummy and the the decor stylishly Mexican with a great vibe. Would highly recommend stopping by for a cocktail or 10 with a group of friends.

Very fast service! Jordy our server was friendly and offered great advice on the food. Following his recommendation, I went with the fish taco, pulled pork and the crispy chicken taco which were awesome. Pretty good vibe with the outdoor settings and the chill music! 👌🏾

This isn's the first time I've come and certainly not the las time. me and my friend came here for dinner on the weekend and the customer service was absolutely amazing! the workers are all so sweet and welcoming, and their manager seems to be very on top of and organised with the place. we were a little concerned we'd show up and not be able to get a spot as we didn't pre book, although we did ! and it was so good, we originally sat outside, but it was a bit windy and asked to move inside, where space was made for us. The food we ordered came within 10 minutes of ordering and was beautiful. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a place with great food and amazing customer service. I think this is my new favourite place. We took some photos of the place as it was just too cute and aesthetically pleasing not to!! 100% coming back & suggesting to many friends.

One of the best places I've been in Brisbane. It was such a beautiful set up, very aesthetic. The staff were so lovely & helpful. I really enjoyed the food, the sweet potato fries! I loved the cocktail jug! Highly recommend. The music is fun, definitely a great place to start the night or even just call it an early night at closing. 🙂

Cantina provided a brunch experience that exceeded expectations. The poolside setting created a fantastic atmosphere with a vibrant vibe. The food was nothing short of amazing, complemented perfectly by delightful cocktails. The standout, however, was the top-notch customer service that added an extra layer of satisfaction to the overall dining experience. Cantina proves to be a delightful blend of ambience, culinary excellence, and impeccable service, making it a must-visit destination.

I had the absolute best time celebrating my birthday here yesterday! We tried the bottomless brunch and were impressed by the food quality and drinks. Staff were lovely and super friendly. The setting is bright and outdoors but fully covered with a nice breeze coming through. I might add, it can be difficult to call through to the restaurant but i received quick responses via IG and email :)

A nice relaxed atmosphere, but a bit more upmarket, compared to GYG or Mad Mex, or El Camino. Due to this, however, you can expect elevated prices. They have a good range of foods, including tacos, quesadillas, nachos, burritos and snack foods like fries or fried cauliflower etc. The tacos I tried were all nice - they have a deal where you can get 3 for $25. The tacos I tried were the chicken, cauliflower and fish taco. The chicken was standard, not particularly special or unique. The cauliflower one was quite nice, with interesting complementary flavours. I would recommend! The fish taco was definitely the best out of the three. I would say I have had better, but these were decent. For the size, the price was a bit hefty (if you purchased them individually), but as a set, it’s decently affordable. Service was good at the beginning but slowly became a bit less great as the night went on. Orders were mixed and some were delayed / lost. They use the QR code ordering system so there isn’t too much interaction with waiters and waitresses!

there are two things i look for as immediate signs that i’m going to enjoy a hospitality experience, and Comuna has both neon signs & an abundance of pink cocktails. phoebe, kc & ewan were fantastic. despite it being a fairly busy night, we were served promptly, and were surprised by how quickly the food came! we got the cauliflower & the calamari starters, and the coconut fish, cauliflower, and chargrilled chicken tacos. all were delicious (and even more so with the chipotle aioli on top). the drinks were phenomenal! the pink panther was a fave for our table, but we also tried the palomita & silky lip martini, which were beautiful too.

Dined at Comuna Cantina last night - and wow what an incredible experience. Not often do you get proper hospitality service anymore, but the team here were sensational. A gentleman from Kentucky served us throughout the evening - without a doubt the best service we've received for a number of years. A shoutout to the wider team too, anyone passing by made sure to check in on us, clearing plates, fixing up drinks, hot sauce - you name it. Nothing was a fuss, too hard or too small. Friendly. Prompt. Efficient. Will be coming back here absolutely any day of the week. Highly recommend - friendly, fast and memorable service. Keep up the great work!

Was excited to come back here after many years. Still just as good. Ordered the 3 taco options with pulled pork, crispy chicken and Cauliflower and was very happy with my choice. Crispy chicken and cauliflower taco was way better than expected. Loved the passionfruit martini as well. Service was fast and attentive. Loved the decor and atmosphere. And finally mexican that understands my need for ample salsa! Can't wait to come back again. 5 stars!

Cocktails on point as well as the halloumi fries. No sauce needed for those salty bad boys. Great combo to match the two. Foods great, chicken fajitas missing a bit of flavour in the meat mix. Staff were lovely and very outgoing and helpful.

The food was lovely and so were the drinks. The only thing that could’ve been better was the burrito wasn’t wrapped properly so it fell apart as soon as it was lifted and had to use a knife and fork to eat it and the spicy beef taco didn’t taste all that nice. Other then those minor points the drinks were nice and the food was good.

  • 4/5 Yuki K. 1 year ago on Google
Chicken wings were appetizing. Generous portion size of the taco bowl. The chargrilled chicken in the taco bowl was a bit too salty. Indoor seating was spacious and comfortable.

If you're looking for a beautiful place for some food and fancy drinks to start your night, definitely don't skip Comuna Cantina! Literally everything here is so beautiful. You can't go wrong with any cocktail or menu item. This will be a staple girl's night out location for me!

I really want to like this place. I’ve been twice and both times has been disappointing. I got the bowl the first time and it was underwhelming, bland and didn’t have much meat. Went again and the server got our 4 food orders all mixed up and couldn’t tell us which one was which. He also got all our drink orders mixed up. I got the spicy beef burrito, which wasn’t spicy. It was ok. The dipping sauce for the burrito didn’t taste like much. It’s got a nice atmosphere though and may be good for just drinks and snacks but not a proper lunch.

Ordered the halloumi taco for $10, and this is what we got… no salsa or anything just a bit of cabbage and piece of halloumi. Table was sticky, asked if we could have it wiped down and they did with a damp cloth which still made it sticky, we were told it was from the humidity when it clearly just needed some spray rather then just a damp cloth.. dissapointing after spending over $100

Had an amazing bottomless lunch here. The food was too notch the drinks were all freshly made and delicious. Major shout out to our server Laura who on several occasions took it on her self to help us out when we were waiting on food during a particularly busy time. She was amazing and professional and friendly and made sure we were fed and watered all day. Staff like this are the reason I will 100% come back.

My partner and I made a reservation over the phone during the day for the same night for the two of us. When we got there, it turned out that there was no booking and that all the tables on the street side were taken so we had to sit on a dark table in the side alley. The waitresses put so much pressure on us wanting to take the order as soon as we sat down, that in the end there was not even time to check the menu properly. The manager wasn’t friendly at all when it came to pay. The food was average, the “Abundance Bowl” had very soggy cherry tomatoes in it with dry quinoa and beans and just a bunch of leafy mix similar to a Mexican chain restaurant. My partner had two Tacos and the Spicy Beef nachos and he said they were pretty nice. Awesome “Tropical, like it’s hot - pineapple ginger and lemongrass sour” on tap.. It was absolutely beautiful.

The decor is super cool, DJ and drummer spinning some cool tunes, rad vibes and people watching, coupled with attentive staff and most importantly delicious food and drinks. Overall have done an amazing job on the reno and space in general. We had the Halloumi fries and tacos which were divine, especially the Halloumi fries! The chilli Margie is awesome too! Nicely balanced. Get along and have an a fun experience. Well worth the visit!

An insult to Mexican cuisine. If you want authentic Mexican and Central American food, don't come here. If you want overpriced GYG or Sambreros this is your spot. If Comuna Cantina was a restaurant in the USA, Mexico, or Central America it would have been out of business almost instantly. Specifically, the food lacked any sort of flavour, and was 50% overpriced. My spicy margarita didn't have enough tahene/tajin, and when I asked the waitress about it she had no idea what it was. 1/10 - Try harder

Comuna Cantina is a forward-thinking Mexican restaurant. To order, you use a tablet with an easy to use application. The food is excellent, but the Cocktails are absolutely bloody fantastic. If you are visiting Brisbane, do yourself a favour and visit Comuna Cantina for a midday cocktail and snack.

The DJ last night was playing the music TOO loud that you had to scream to talk to people. It was my first time visiting the new store and it wasn’t a good impression at all. I would’ve given five stars if not for the ridiculously loud music.

  • 1/5 Club M. 3 years ago on Google
Atmosphere is nice enough, but as usual they try to squeeze you in anywhere you can fit. Got stuck sitting in a tight walkway. Biggest problem was the food, woefully uninspired, and served cold! Both meals were barely even warmed (burrito and nachos), and for that privilege we were charged $60. Meals were bland, lacked flavour and originality (beef mince wrapped in tortilla). Staff were completely disengaged, unfocused and lacking "restaurant flair"...friendly enough, but disinterested. You'll find more flavour across the road at the name branded Mexican fast-food.

I'm not sure how anyone could give a bad review about this place. Nothing is perfect but this place is amazing. I am from the US and I have been working in restaurants for 17 years. In the states, it's all tips, so the incentive to perform and entertain is relevant. However, in Australia there are not tips. Yet, we were greeted promptly with a smile and sat right away. We were given an over view of the menu (which we had never recieved in the two weeks prior of dining out every meal). The server came back to check on us and actually talked with us. Gave us great recommendations for future dining. Now let's get to the food! Easily put, amazing! Long story, their attention to detail is evident. Very flavorful and well balanced. So good we came back twice! The second time we came, they remembered us, even the kitchen staff greeted us and later helped clear our dishes and checked on us. The mocktails are amazing! I have been bartending for years and have been sober for the last three years. It was great to be able to get fun, creative, and very tasty drinks. Great team work, great attention to detail, and it just seemed like they actually care.

Comuna Cantina in the heart of the Brisbane CBD is a bustling, energetic and vibrant Latin American street food restaurant reminiscent of the Cantinas in Mexico The cuisine is fresh, fiery and moorish. The atmosphere is best suited to shared dining and lively conversation. The team are warm, friendly and engaging. Comuna Cantina is a great place to catch up with friends

Some of the best tacos I've had Australia wide. Definitely recommend their 3 for $22 deal.
