We had a lovely evening at Montrachet. The food was delicious and well presented, the wine recommendation was perfect and the service was friendly, efficient, and well paced. The scene stealer for us though, was the absolutely wonderful bread! It came with homemade butter and was delightful.

By far the best restaurant we've eaten at to date. Service - 5 (staff very attentive and easy to talk to), Ambience - 5 (the decore is fantastic), food - 10 (that's out of 5! amazing, tasty, portion size, flavours, presentation, etc etc) Drinks - 4. Such a variety. Wines, cocktails, spirits. Deduct 1 for beers. Needs more variety. My only minor issue. Overall score? 5^10 = 9,765, 625 out of 5! Amazing. Make sure you eat here. You won't regret it.

21.6.2023 We visited for lunch and were warmly greeted. Staff were friendly and helpful with the Menus and our Cocktails were arrived promptly. The Soufflé and Cobia Sashimi were outstanding. However the MB9+ Wagyu Fillet Steak was disappointing. The excessive sinew in the Beef was unpleasant and the French Fries, while overfried were served soft. Overall, we still had a relaxing and enjoyable lunch thanks to our attentive Tanya.

Finally went to Montrachet for the first time. I booked this table about 2 months ago. They didn’t disappoint me at all. Food is amazing. Service is impeccable. Very impressive wine list. We ordered entree and main each and 3 desserts to share between 6 of us. We were all stuffed walking out the restaurant. Good portion and reasonable price. If you like french food, make a booking now.

Bon Appétit: Overall, my experienced was excellent, food was deliciously made, the wine pairing was perfect, and the service was outstanding, also the staff were not intruding (perfect balance of distance & attention), while making sure you been looked after. I think Montrachet restaurant is underrated by the Australian Good Food Guide which has a rating of 13, Montrachet is better than to some higher rating restaurant that i been to.

Came here with the missus (absolutely stunning she was!) and high expectations due to being booked out for weeks in advance. My expectations were well exceeded - imagine Elaine (from Sienfeld) reaction after tasting Soup Nazis' soup for the first time. The service from the amazing and knowledgeable staff (thanks Tanya!) who seem to have the right combination of friendliness and professionalism and they knew their drinks and food menu so well. The decore, the ambiance from the lighting to the chill jazz/house background music at just the right levels all create the perfect experince - then the Food and Drinks complete the adventure. Wow - i have had good food locally and internationally but this is up there with the best. I have never wanted to eat incredible tasting food so slowly. Each mouthful demanded a few minutes of appreciation. The wines paired with desert were a match made in heaven. The cocktails were art. You must experience this quality. Will be book in regularly. Thank you much for staying open late for us too!

Amazing degustation experience. We went on a Saturday night and took part in the 6 course feast. Perfectly balanced and delicious at every turn out taste buds were tantalised at ever turn. The decor was superb and loved siting at the bar, especially with the fab wine and spirit selection. The staff rounded out the awesome experience! Couldn't have been happier. Thanks for an amazing evening team.

Apon walking in was expecting to be frowned on for being in my traffic control work boots, etc... and the whole staff here didn't skip a beat.. I was served with the same polite gestures and friendly attitude from all of them.. and the staff behind the bar.. honestly, I requested to sit here... and definitely recommend it.. absolutely a pleasure watching them work and the odd chat in between... It absolutely made my night. I'm definitely going to come back here.. was sending our recommendations while eating. Dessert was just as amazing as mains.

Quite honestly, the best dining experience. The staff were attentive and they could not have been friendlier and accommodating enough. The food was out of this world and worth every penny. I was honestly truly amazed with the overall experience and would 100% go back again, and again and again!

We hired the private dining room for a family celebration of a birthday and the award of a PhD. What a fantastic experience the family enjoyed. Everyone had a great time. The surroundings were perfect for the occasion. The food was absolutely fantastic - the entire menu appealed. The wait-staff looked after us very professionally. We all loved the evening and can highly recommend it.

First time at Montrachet and it was SUCH a magical experience with my partner and I! We were seated at the bar which I thought would reduce the experience but not the case! The attentiveness of the staff and the knowledge of the food and the food was out of this world! Feels like you stepped into old world Paris which is much welcomed with all the travel bans. New restaurant to add to the rotation!

  • 5/5 Cecilia D. 3 years ago on Google
Fine dining at its best! Absolutely loved the food and so the wine! Staff is friendly and helpful, and we absolutely enjoyed the lunch!

  • 5/5 Andy O. 3 years ago on Google
The food and service was excellent. I would definately go again. I also felt that the tables were purposely spread out to allow for social distancing. That along with the qr scanned menus and sign in shows that they are taking good steps to keeping their customers safe from covid

All I can say is WOW! I'd been wanting to come here for some time after hearing great things! We booked in for dinner and sat up at the bar. We chose the tasting menu and were not disappointed! Every single staff member made our night special - so welcoming, so inviting and accommodating! Montrachet is my little piece of France here in Australia!

  • 5/5 Alan L. 3 years ago on Google
It was a special occasion (but a last-minute reservation) – even better than the original Montrachet (which was always wonderful). Food exquisite; service friendly and knowledgeable; wine-list and sommelier outstanding. I thought that at least I would be able to complain that the music was a little loud but somebody unobtrusively adjusted that before I even had a chance to ask! A wonderful night. Thank you

(Translated by Google) A faultless one. More than a year that I waited to be able to relish my French cuisine ... With Covid, impossible to return to France .. So here I am, looking for the best French restaurant possible during my trip to Brisbane .. I do not regret having chosen Montrachet! Plus, I was able to introduce my Australian darling to our wonderful culinary culture! Everything was delicious, from the starter to the dessert to the bread. Thank you for this culinary "trip" if you could not travel there for real! :)

Delicious food, decent portion sizes and attentive staff. My wife travelled to France 2 years ago and still raves about the food and beautiful people, so I naturally took her to Montrachet for her birthday. The staff were so friendly and thoughtful that they came out with a piece of their Opera cake with a candle in it for our dessert. Fine dining worth the price and worth the wait

Wonderful long luncheon at Montrachet Restaurant this week. Food is delicious. Can’t ever go past the Crab Soufflé, and the Eye Fillet with fries and salad are cooked to perfection. The pepper sauce was especially delicious. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, which further enhanced our luncheon. Ramon recommended an absolutely mouth pleasuring Bordeaux, which we savoured with much delight. We were lucky to get in with very short notice, as the Restaurant rapidly filled up and re-sat tables.

Hadn’t been to Montrachet since it moved to its current premises and if anything it’s better than I remembered it. The food, the wine list, the service - faultless. Probably the best restaurant in Brisbane and up there with the best in the country.

Really enjoyed this experience even though there are 2 sittings. The menu is well designed to offer variety and the experienced wait staff ensure every thing runs like clockwork so you don't feel hurried or pressured. The chef took some time to chat with our table and his culinary history is impressive.

First time visiting after a long absence.. realised why I loved and still love Montrachet so much. Exceptional service, particularly the sommelier, coupled with great dishes. The crab souffle is always a favourite and the cherry duck was divine. I won't leave it so long between visits. Thank you Montrachet.

We have been eating at Montrachet for many years and despite its change of location remains a culinary delight. I always have the same thing and get teased about it by my family. My view is that once you're on a winner stick with it. Steak, frites, mushrooms + creme brulee ... unbeatable.

Pleasant fine dining at its best. Certainly on the high end, but worthy of a special occasion or pure indulgence. Everything ordered had flavour infusions executed perfectly. All the dishes were outstanding but the dessert really took the cake. Staff were attentive and informative. The complimentary baguette for every savoury meal is typically French, and it is nice to see, as other places I’ve been to consider it a side. Would go back again.

Couldn't have chosen a better place for our wedding anniversary dinner. The menu is irresistible and the wine list outstanding. We had a wonderful night at Montrachet for my wife's birthday recently. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed the dining experience. The staff we very helpful, experienced and pleasant throughout the evening. I would recommend others try.

  • 3/5 Annalise V. 3 years ago on Google
Very rich French cuisine. I like the atmosphere. Packed in seating, fast paced service and good food. Though it feels more bistro than fine dining. The prices however are not commensurate to the food, setting or service. Compared to its old home in Paddington, it feels like it’s traded it’s charm for more turnover. If you’re paying as much as you are for the meals, then you need more space as a patron and more time per seating session to properly enjoy your meal. I also understand businesses have been hit by covid, but as we move forward when the going gets easier, take me back to the Paddington Montrachet experience!

We are a group of seven. Just finished watching a play and needing coffee and dessert. It's quite late in the evening. Oh, and "What time do you close please?" Reply, "Whenever you are ready leave." Absolute courtesy at it's best. The Manager, Gilbért and Gertrude were so accommodating. They made us comfortable at the outdoor setting where we wanted. Honestly, they could not do enough for us! They kept fussing, making us feel like we were very important and this place is "Top Notch." The coffees were delicious and the desserts were heavenly. We say 10 stars out of 5! Thankyou.

Wonderful food, wonderful service, great atmosphere and attention to detail. We booked in last minute for an impromptu big night out and were sat at the bar. Even if you can't get a table, the bar seats are still so worth it. We ordered a starter of Foie Gras that was absolutely divine, and then a 3 course meal each. Every course was great. A truly lovely dining experience.

If you are wanting an authentic French experience in this time of covid where we can only travel in our own backyard then look no further. Exceptional service, authentic French food and a wonderful decor any Francophile would be proud of, do yourself a favour and visit Montrachet, you will not be disappointed. Our Meal was fantastic, without a doubt the crab soufflé and the signature dessert are standouts, but all was amazing. Will be return patrons for sure.

One of the best restaurants in Brisbane! We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing, and were delighted with robust flavours and sophisticated technique and presentation. The Morton bay bug, lamb main and peach raspberry dessert were standouts. Thank you for a fantastic meal and warm, attentive service. Highly recommended!

Superb. Relaxed ambience with attentive but not intrusive waitstaff, knowledgeable sommelier, solid cocktails and absolutely cracking food, cheese and coffee. Music just noticeable which was perfect. Only one slightly pretentious moment when my partner (a French speaker) was asked if we needed "help with the French words" on the menu, but I suppose they get a lot of locals who do need the help. Maybe "let me know if there are any unfamiliar terms" would be a more polite way of phrasing it. Overall a lovely night and we left full, relaxed and impressed. Will be back.

Montrachet is a wonderful dinning experience from the ambience to the food and the staff. It is fine dining and everything was cooked, prepared and presented to perfection. I've only eaten French cuisine a few times and I was amazed at the beauty and focus of each dish. The flavours were pure and gentle and true to the produce. The dishes of note were the duck, creme brule and the garden pea bavarois. I have never had duck cooked like this before and it was so soft, juicy and flavourful. The kind of dish that makes you smile with every bite. The pea bavarois was a dish that made you think. Everything together was its own symphony.

What a beautiful French restaurant. I took my partner here for his 40th birthday. The service was amazing, the wait staff all wished my partner happy birthday & were quick to bring out our food & drinks. The experienced waitress explained everything on the menu. The oysters were incredible & all of the food was excellent with good portion sizes. The restaurant itself is beautiful, well decorated & comfortable. I’ve seen children at the restaurant before but I would say it’s not a place to bring the kids. We found out after we arrived that parking in the multistory carpark is validated. We managed to find a park nearby but it was a quiet Wednesday night. I will definitely be returning to Montrachet for birthdays & anniversaries in the future.

I booked a table to celebrate the birthday of a young Chef that works for me at my wine bar. Being a chef that was trained at a Michelin star restaurant, I thought Montrachet would deliver an amazing experience and it didn’t let me down. The restaurant is elegant and warm, suitable for a business meeting, a romantic date or a casual gathering. The food was tasty and the presentation minimalistic (the Duck looked lonely and a bit far away from a flat pile of garnishing items, but it was delightful). For the price, it deserved a bit more on the plate. My entree was the crab soufflé, I could have 3 of those… superlicious! The Sommelier Charles was friendly and helpful. Don’t drive yourself for price on the wine list. It has lots of iconic and expensive wines but you can find some good wines at an affordable prices. Highly recommend

I just want to preface this by saying that whilst it’s not the best French food I’ve had (by a mile), I REALLY REALLY loved this restaurant and it honestly may be one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Brisbane. It’s to the point where a person like myself that usually values food taste the most can forgive and discount some aspects and consider it just part of the experience, due to how much of a joy it is to come dine here. Montrachet is truly in their own league on the Brisbane dining scene (I mean tbh there’s not much to contend with..) and I truly believe that they compete with some top Michelin starred restaurants around the world that we’ve been to for the service and experience they deliver. It is for that reason that I would consider this now as one of my most memorable dining experiences in town and a special place you’d reserve for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. Just thought it was important to put that first and foremost before I get critical into the food so anyways: - duck breast. Wow- absolute stand out, only duck I’ve had in the last 2 years to contend with a top Paris bistro that required 1.5 years advanced booking for me to dine in. Actually Rosmarino’s duck is also just as good but Montrachet’s was generously portioned, cooked to perfection and the pairings were sublime. I wanted to lick that plate clean. - onion soup, meh. - souffle, very good, loved the seafood flavour that came through. Didn’t bother to read the menu properly so was very pleasantly surprised. Something different from the usual cheese and etc. Would absolutely reorder this and thoroughly enjoyed each spoonful. - steak tartare was well prepared and I can’t fault it at all. - foie gras …. was ok. It’s better than Boucher. La cache does do it better though. None in Brisbane can seem to make a foie gras to contend with Syd restaurants. Brioche was yummy though - the BUTTER (!!!) that they serve with the bread pre meal was so good I was shook to my core. We now regularly get the little tubs from king st bakery. Never change this, please. - bouillabaisse is my favourite dish usually but man our soup was flavoured/spiced so weirdly I couldn’t get past it. Never had this issue before ordering Bouillabaisse at any other restaurant and have tasted many homemade variations so we were both pretty thrown off- tasted like star aniseed or something idk it tasted like an Asian pork stew broth with five spice and star aniseed HAHA, I thought my tastebuds were tripping out until I saw the look of absolute confusion in my sister’s eyes. I feel like that flavour clouded our ability to taste the rich tomalley that you usually expect from a bouillabaisse broth, however it could just be the chef’s regional specialty to flavour the soup this way- it was absolutely by no means unpalatable but just not what I was expecting. Anyways, weird broth aside, the seafood was enjoyable and lightly cooked as expected of this dish. The scallop was huge and juicy, the fish was fresh and delicately cooked just prior to serving. I have mixed feelings, hesitant but game to try again in the future. - dessert: wowowooww the dessert was soooooo gooooooooood I thoroughly enjoyed the signature dessert. Flavours combined well. - creme brûlée was faultless, not too sweet (which is absolutely a good thing) and creamy. Just want to finish again by saying that it was one of my fav dining experiences in Brisbane and I can’t wait to bring family and friends back to eat the roast duck like wooooooweeeee that duck and the bread with the butter is an experience in itself. I don’t think I mentioned this in detail but the service was truly impeccable from the moment you first walk into the door to the moment you step out. Saw the waiters scanning every table walking up and down both sides at every point of our 3 hour meal- I remember my water would get topped up before I even had the thought. Everyone was so friendly, non-intrusive and professional. Sommelier’s recommendations for wine were also perfect and he was just in general a top bloke, recommended some good wines

If I closed my eyes and just focused on the food and atmosphere I would have sworn I was in France. Hands down the best restaurant in Brisbane. From the selection of wines (thanks to the expert guidance of the sommelier) to the personal delivery of meals by the chef and the exquisite menu of French menu favourites and delights I can say it was like being transported back to France. Wow just wow. Can’t believe I took so long to visit this place. I’ve eaten at Same Same, Bianca, SK Oyster Bar, Honto, Otto and many many more and this place impressed me immensely! Brisbane finally has a great restaurant I will be back. And their French wine selection is outstanding if you’re willing to part with your cash, best French wines I’ve had in Australia!!! And I just got back from Burgundy a month ago!!

This is one of my favourite dinning experiences in Brisbane. The food and service was incredible. We ordered the Chef’s menu and every dish was a hit. We appreciated the generous amount of baguette and brioche that accompanied the main menu. We left feeling satisfied. The service was outstanding. The wine recommendations were wonderful and the staff were attentive and helped created a very special night.
