Nice enough atmosphere but the $50 cheese board lacked cheese and was tasteless. Not even a fork or a serviette to go with it. I think the worst platter I've ever encountered. So bad the photo shows what we couldn't be bothered finishing.

Great venue with reasonable food. Thought asking price for a mocktail being $12 was a bit steep but it was well presented nonetheless. Tacos were a little dry for my liking but could have been made in a slight rush so I'll still be back to try again.

So took my son out for dinner. Ordered our own food via the QR code which is fine. And it was a quite night. The service was nothing short of appalling. The waiter who was serving no one. Couldn’t be bothered to clear the empty glasses on the table or the entree dish. When they finally answered the kitchen’s call for service to deliver our main which resulted in an over cooked $40 steak. I asked for salt and pepper. To have the waiter dump and pepper mill on the table and say “sorry mate cant find the salt”. And walk off. Um did u bother to think to ask the kitchen. Just Lazy!!!! And then to have the audacity to add tips on a bill and be served like trash. This place is nothing short of a bloody joke. Get your staff in order and research the term hospitality. Learn about service. Don’t waste your money here.

Scabby serving size. Seriously mostly noodle. How much is mince pork. Really. How disappointing. The staff are so lovely. Perfect front of house experience.

Ordered a ragu, expecting a traditional ragu. You know, the red based sauce one you have advertised Got oily pasta with shredded beef and a pile of cheese. When I complained and pointed out that it looks nothing like what they advertise or a traditional ragu in general I was told “that’s just how we do ragu here” You’d think for $40 you would have someone competent enough know that this looks like nothing what they advertise on the menu. If you’re going to do a tomato-less ragu, advertise it as such Staff were sweet, but fix your menu. It’s as simple as cooking your unappealing dish and taking a pic, and uploading it. Welcome to use the half eaten plate I left behind xo

Super odd.. drink came to our table that we didn’t order (guilty we never said anything) then some dude came back 20 minutes later and dad guilted us for accepting drinks that wasn’t ours and then took them away. So, may need to work on customer service

After moving to the area, I was super excited to have Sixes and Sevens as my local. Unfortunately I just received the most terrible and smug service I’ve had in a long time. I just wanted to sit in the shade and have a drink to pass 20 mins of spare time and would have happily moved if a larger group were to arrive. But apparently that’s too hard to cater for. Don’t hire people if they’re not interested in being hospitable and flexible. Won’t be back.

This is not even worth a whole star. I have been going to sixes and sevens for the last 2 years. I went to get lunch at 1pm on Friday afternoon. It took 25 minutes to get my coffee. We ordered 2 pizzas that took 1 hour and 45 minutes to be served. On the day there were 2 tables including my own ordering food.The service was terrible. The staff were rude. The staff who brought our food out dropped it on the table in front of us and was not hospitable. I will NOT be going back and I have told everyone I know that this place is terrible.

At Sixes and sevens for a farewell for 2 of our staff,service was great, food was fast and delicious. Music was too loud for conversation but the venue was rocking and people were dancing in their seats and having a great time.

Haven't been here in awhile but it is still such a lovely place to have a few drinks with friends :) Also, the chicken burger was divine! Highly recommend.

So much potential with amazing food and a great menu that caters for all. Drinks list is long and we'll rounded with a great range of cocktails, wines and more. Inside is the place to be as the outside is ok but needs some attention. Staff are not to friendly here, so don't expect good service. Worth a visit though for the food and cocktails

We had booked two sections for a birthday party approx 20 people from 12 until 6. At 2.30 the made us move down to one section for a booking at 3pm and now they have just said they are capacity and we had to leave, even though we had booked u til 6. We were buying plenty of cocktails jugs at 40 each along with other drinks and food. Pretty bad management. Definitely do not recommend this place for a birthday sunday session.

Nice place for a drink, however I'm not a fan of the food based on this visit. Not a lot of fish in the fish and chips option and the small serve was largely batter. Chips and salad were fine though fish, in my view, is the key ingredient and it missed the mark for me. The burger was extremely oily and my partner left most of it uneaten. Service also more attuned to a drinking place and staff seemed uninterested. Eg, if it was my place, I'd expect staff to ask if the food was ok if i noticed tgat most of a meal left uneaten. I'd go again for drinks, however probably give the food a miss next time

Unfortunately my lunch turned out disappointing, the Cesar salad I ordered looked divine until I crunched into a piece looking like the end of Parmesan cheese only to find out it wasn’t cheese and nearly broke my tooth, when I told the waiter when he came over to take my half eaten salad, he just oh sorry about that! I won’t be coming here again.

Can't really comment on the food as I didn't have any, but the cocktails were pretty bomb and service at bar and table was quick. The Aircon is some of the best in Brisbane, if it's a hot day would definitely recommend for a cold drink and a chill out here! The staff were also very accommodating, we had a party of 15 and when they needed that table they were happy to shuffle us around until they were fully booked. Very much appreciated by the group as it gave us time to find another bar to move to.

Had 4 or 5 burgers that were quite undercooked, to a level of caution. Disappointing as this was the most reasonably priced item on the menu at $19 (ex chips). Also had some mates who had a bad experience with the chicken burgers, mentioning that they were full of gristle.

Was nice at first but then they told us we had to leave because there was a reservation? There was nothing on our table indicating so when we sat down... Security was rude about it and didn't offer us another seat. Won't be back...

Atmosphere was good, not sure I enjoy some of the seating arrangement, they might need a bit of a clean. Order 4 of the same dish 1 of them was burnt but they said that what the dish tasked like and asked if we wanted the burnt dish back..

I went last week to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time.The bartender seemed bothered that I came into the restaurant and outraged that we asked for a physical copy of the food/drinks list. This restaurant does everything electronically from check in to their menu.The least the staff can do is have a smile and try to guide us through the technology since we were unfamiliar. We were happy to use the online platform, but the bartenders impatience was very apparent. Drinks and food were lovely! I had the fish taco's and my friend had the plant based burger.

Nice space, lots of different seating options. In the outdoor area the music was super loud. Bar tender was not knowledgeable and did not try to be particularly helpful or personal. Reasonably priced.

The only good thing was the cocktail. Paid $22 dollars for a salad that was 30% pure garlic. People could smell it from a metre away. 🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄/10

Steak Sandwich $21 without chips. Chicken cordon bleu $29 with a tablespoon of mashed potato and a farm full of Spinach. Not bad, but nothing special. Prefer QA across the road

Burnt food, unpleasant cocktails and unprofessional conduct from staff. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and the biased between patrons was evident. Never have I had an experience like this and would ask that your venue makes the terms and conditions of entry available at the time of booking, as this was not readily available. Even in my efforts to contact the venture prior to the booking, the employee who answered the phone, took drink orders whilst I was on the phone, and was unable to hear my inquiries, asking a number of times for me to repeat myself. I requested accessibility details and a return call to confirm, which went unfulfilled. The venue had my phone number and email and there is no excuse for not addressing my inquiry.

Excellent value for money, it had been a long time since I had eaten so well and in a pleasant atmosphere. Exceptional treatment from the staff, Alberto recommended me a hamburger and I was very surprised, it was delicious, I think I've fallen in love🥺. I will be back as soon as possible.

I can only rate this place on the beer I had and the overall atmosphere. I liked the garden vibe and the beer was cold. Good location in the Fortitude Valley.

Gets too busy from Fri. afternoon til Sun. night. I enjoy the laid back Thrus. arvos/eves for drinks. Great food! And they know their cocktails.

Food was expensive and terrible. We tried the calamari, crab pasta and ribs. Nothing was good, but the crab pasta was the worst. The location is convention though and the atmosphere is decent. Service was fine. Come for a drink, just don’t eat the food.

It's very crowded, the music is very "doof doof" even just being in the sitting and dining area felt overwhelmed with bass and thumping speakers. The food was good but the seating and dining spaces felt cramped and difficult to eat in. There's an outdoor area constantly patrolled but it still felt unsecure. Great place for drinks before going out for a night of clubbing, not the best for socialising and enjoying the space.

Good quality food with a good selection of beers and beverages.

Trendy cocktail bar located directly on James Street in Fortitude valley. Busy spot on a Saturday early evening for social catch ups. Good service at the bar. Prices are not extortionate. Had an Aperol Sptritz and Strawberry Spritz. Strawberry garnish on my drink was quite old and made it slightly less visually appealing. Fresher garnishes please! Get the share platter / Grazing plate. Really good value at only $50. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

What should be a nice place to grab a drink and a bite after a work function, turned out to be a bit of a deception. Security started upon with entry. "So you don't have a booking? Instead of: "I'll see what can do for you." After all the place was half empty. We were sat at an inside table and whilst seating us the security person said, you're not going to eat that right? Aiming at the boxes of pizza and pastry we brought for dinner at home. I understand the comment, but the tone didn't improve things. Service staff were lovely and helpful and the food and drinks were quite nice, aside from the tough beef skewers. Still easily worth a 4-star experience. Until it was all let down by an older security person, who yelled at and summoned a group attempting to sit at a larger table next to us. No reserved sign, nothing. A table that had been empty for at least 30 minutes. Real poor form and he has no place in the hospitality industry. We left shortly after and will not be back. If it wasn't for the service staff effort this would be a 1-star review. Moral of this review? Don't let security staff do a hospitality job. Leave them at the door until they are necessary inside. This is James Street after all, not Brunswick...

Had a great relaxed lunch on a Saturday. Pan fried gnocchi was delicious. Beef burger wasn't pink when it came out and the meals all came out at different times which would work if we were sharing but we weren't.
