Happy to sign you up and take your money but have zero customer service or care about if you never went there. A pure cash grab. Don’t do it.

I don't understand if this gym is so busy & popular in a shopping centre like Westfield Chermside the owners don't invest in re-doing the bathrooms. The doors are scratched, the latches don't closed properly. Lockers aren't in good condition. Showers are leaking & rusted. This gym needs a HUGE attention to detail!!!

Facilities awful. Outdated and smells terrible. I've been waiting for an email confirming that I have cancelled my membership because apparently it takes a month to do so. I have called them over 10 times and they keep promising they will email it to me. I still have not gotten anything. Also apart from the few, the majority of people that work he are completely disrespectful. Its not even the gym members moving its the good staff that are too and I assume its because of how awful most of the people that work here are. There gonna reply saying contact us so "we can improve". I CALLED YOU NEARLY EVERY DAY FOR I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW LONG. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS SEND ME THE EMAIL CONFIRMING I HAVE LEFT THIS AWFUL GYM.

Equipment is worn, cardio equipment doesn't seem to get cleaned, plates rarely put away. Had to puchase my own belts as they have none, which I thought was weird for a large gym. Some of the PT staff are pretty arrogant too. Disappointing overall. I joined purely for the convience of their location.

I would say for a goodlife gym this was a piss poor excuse for one. Weights were damaged, cable machine had no weight numbers, no air con, half the fans dont swing, bathrooms were no maintained to standard. Only good thing about it was the size of the gym. Other than that. Not good. Wont be going back

Happy to sign you up and take your money but when it comes to service and making it an enjoyable place they fall on their face. Being told told by the staff at Goodlife Chermside you can put your account on hold during COVID and then find out weeks later it was a lie and you are $170 behind. If you want an honest gym that isn't going to lie to you look somewhere else. Don't go to Goodlife it a joke !!!!!

This is the most disgusting gym I have ever been to. The bathroom, toilet, sauna and steam room areas did not look like they had been cleaned in months. You could smell the mould and bacteria growths. If you have cleaners I would fire them and get some new ones!!!

I have been with this gym for almost a year and I noticed that nothing gets maintained! Half of the wall fans don't work, and when enough was enough I thought to tell someone at the desk. Initially, I thought that they just kept some of the fans off to conserve power, turns out they were actually broken and they never noticed for almost one year! On top of that, they removed some of the TVs that were on the wall for no real reason (that I could think of anyway). Some of the gym equipment is out of order half of the time; last time I was unpleasantly surprised by two of the four rowing machines as they had faulty batteries and needed the correct time and date to be set before being used! They were completely unusable since I didn't know how to set it myself! What the hell is our membership money being used for if not to improve the gym?? They are all just salespeople who will be there to butter you up to get to your money but won't do much about their shoddy equipment. However, I like the fact that they offer group classes and even have a sauna and steam/cold rooms. The price per week is quite reasonable also. Overall, can't help but to feel disappointed.

I highly do not recommend joining this gym. I have been a member of just about every gym franchise and have heard mainly good things about goodlife as a mid-size gym. The Chermside gym has THE worst equipment, a good 50% of the pin loaded equipment doesn't work and is extremely out dated, along with all of the seats on the machines. This has been like this for the 9months of me being signed up here, for the revenue this specific gym would make its appauling. The price for the membership does not reflect on the quality of the equipment, your better off even going to small cheap gym like Jetts even they have better equipment. Would love to hear a response from management as to why the gym is in this state, it does not reflect the brand well.

I’ve been a member at this club for a while now and I regret every single moment I remember that I still have a contract there. At first the gym looks nice. It’s spacious and it has lots of equipment...but they are old, really old. Also the maintenance is quite poor and there is no lubrication on the moving parts of the equipment. The gym is always full to a point where it’s almost impossible for you to complete your workout as planned. If you’re planning to join this gym, I suggest you to go to any other snap or jetts first and see the equipment they have there so you can compare. If you dont do that, you might end up stuck there for a year like I am

I am on & off at gym. And every time I come back, often after weeks or months, the same equipments are still broken, and I notice new faults each time I come back. Like, when was the last time you had someone check all of your equipment? 1992? I spent 25 minutes trying to find a spin bike that worked. One completely broken. Another spin bikes screen completely defective. Stopped at 15 seconds, no watts etc working. The sauna/shower area smells like pee, didn’t use to. But the team has been keeping up with sanity wipe maintenance, unlike many months ago, always empty. They are ensuring they’re full, so that’s an improvement 👍

The gym said they would not charge me any fees for a month because I was still on contract with another gym. This was a lie, they charged me 132 dollars 2 days later. For this reason I cancelled the contract using the cooling off period and ask for full refund. When I did this a staff member lied to me and said this was impossible as they don’t do refunds, even though the section 18 of their contract, in the last part mentions that I can all my money back. Another staff member came and accepted this and said I would be given the money in 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks I didn’t get any money back, I called again and the staff member said to wait 2 more weeks. They obviously are going to try to make it as slow and painful as possible. Plus the gym was really outdated, ugly and depressive.

I find the new Manager not very friendly and very unwelcoming. However Rose who teaches Yoga on Sunday is wonderful as is the body balance teacher on Thursdays! I go to Goodlife gyms all over Brisbane and have done for the past 8 years. This is first time I have had an issue with a particular Goodlife gym and Manager.

Dont join this gym. Terrible lying staff, awful equipment. Dont think a 3 star overall rating is anything high. Half of them probably come from the rude staff that get asked to do it from their disrespectful manager. Wish i could go lower then 1 star!

Was a member here for a while. Enjoyed the gym but only had a 12month contract. Then when I tried to cancel after 2 or so years they told me I still had to give 4 weeks notice even though I was out of contract. Then had the nerve to offer me to resign on a cheaper rate with no lock in contract 🤦‍♂️

Rip off, they offer a 5 day trial but just if you sign up afterwards. I extra organised an apointment but when I asked her about the trial she said it's marketing. Where is the sense, ia trials to inspect the gym. Staff are unfriendly and not the sharpest tools in the toolbox and it's really dirty over there. Same equip like my garage except my garage is clean.

This gym is old and gross with much equipment in disrepair, unserviceable, or straight up broken and dangerous. The change rooms are frankly filthy, lockers are never cleaned, no hangers, ironing board broken, showers and toilets disgusting and never cleaned properly. The Sauna stinks. Gym equipment is so old and not maintained. Commonly examples in much of the equipment include: bolts and nuts are loose or missing; cables are stretched and very loose; seats wobble to the point of being unusable; cable machine height adjustment is locked tight incredibly difficult to move; gas struts that should support seats are often completely dysfunctional; dumbbells are often unscrewed; benches wobble; pins do not lock in; padding is torn and sharp; rust in parts of machines that can easily cut; joints and bearings are not greased or lubricated; shims for height adjustments have worn out years ago; rods that hold weight stacks were completely snapped with the bolt sheared off; carabiners are stretched and loose and not load rated; Attachments are bent and loose. Despite reporting broken equipment for years, this gym consistently does not respond to repair requests. There is no inspection done on the equipment, and simple maintenance is neglected for years. All equipment is old, which is normal for older goodlife gyms, but the pressing concern is that it is not inspected, maintained, repaired or serviced. There is equipment there that I will not use due to safety concerns. It is not a pleasant place to be and I am happy to have cancelled my membership.

Convenient, reasonable pricing, plenty of undercover parking and of plenty of equipment and large size but significant number of members to match so avoid peak periods to be able to use anything - save cardio which usually has space. Unfortunately despite the revenue this doesn't translate into the equipment being very well maintained - strategy appears to be just keeping mostly functional.

Easily the worst Goodlife I have attended. The equipment is outdated, and out of order half the time. The bathrooms are an absolute disgrace, always filthy; and they smell revolting. Despite the many negatives, the staff are an absolute dream - always friendly and accomodating.

First time I joined Chermside goodlife was around 2006. new equipment, lovely locker rooms, awesome sauna and steam rooms, etc. Great gym! I've recently rejoined in 2022, same equipment as was there in 2006 same blue weights and cable machines, mens locker rooms air-conditioning vents never been cleaned and the showers units and toilets are falling to bits. Still got a great sauna though, ( when it's turned on) it's 2022, why they haven't installed a dead man timer button on it so 24hour members can use it when ever they want,,beats me. Maybe even a time table for the sauna and steam room may help. The Sauna is the reason I rejoined. Thats a selling point people. If your 24 hours/7 days. Then make it so. And time for new equipment.

Expect gazes of judgement from the meat-heads that roam the floor space between 4 and 8pm, not to mention the groups of teenagers that congregate and hold up equipment while they all take turns doing round robin exercises. The gym is never really clean and had zero care for any kind of covid-safe policies. Expect broken equipment that will never get fixed and a majority of staff who are more interested in conversations between themselves than anything happening in the gym. And the class timetable is severely lacking any sort of variety. The change rooms are good and the relaxation facilities are the best at of any Goodlife I’ve visited, so they earn some stars for that. In summary, if you want to be gawked at, have to wait for equipment or be constantly adapting due to broken equipment, this is for sure the right gym for you.

Maintenance and functionality isn't a priority. Gym floor: The air con and fans aren't working majority of the time. Half the time I'm there, there's no disinfectant wipes and you need to wander around looking for some left elsewhere. Ladies bathroom: Often theres no papertowel (the dispensers are quite small considering the size of the gym). There's 3 soap dispensers positioned awkwardly for 6 sinks. 2 of the sinks dont have access to a soap dispenser. The ironing board cover is in a terrible condition, stained/burnt and has a hole in it. Recovery area: the drainage on the floor is terrible/non existent... constantly puddles of dirty water on the floor making it so easy to slip (which I have done multiple times). I dont use these facilities anymore for this reason. If additional drainage isn't going to be put in the floor, a staff member should be regularly mopping up the excess water throughout the day. My sign up experience was also extremely poor. It was so bad that I wanted to say "forget it" and walk out. If it wasn't for the amazing PT's you have at this gym, it would be 0 stars if it was possible and a cancelled membership. Will be looking into other gyms, the cost isn't worth it.

Way too many people. I would guess that there are over 500 active members and the gym is absolutely packed. If you can only train in peak times then this gym is definitely not for you. It’s annoying that it’s as busy as it is and yet the staff are still signing up as many people as possible. Just greedy business, they’re looking for members who will hopefully not show up.

If 3.6 star is the type of gym you want to go to, go ahead. Id rather spend my money elsewhere. I thought the reason why you have a review system is to take into consideration of what the consumers are saying. If then, what changes have been made? I would only score it above 3 star if I was a sheep and can't think critically.

A gym my partner have enjoyed for several years. However, my partner is now terminal and though produced a medical certificate, which means immediate cancellation with no fee, was pressured into suspending. She was and is still very vulnerable so this treatment by management is unconscionable plus she is now being pressured to produce another certificate and to deliver in person to discuss. Sadly a huge negative about this club though I can see reviews on other GL clubs members are having similar issues re cancellation.

It's old and gross. Old equipment, poorly maintained. The bathrooms always smell disgusting. The bathrooms and sauna areas need major upgrades as theres broken tiles in every corner and just generally looks like you're in a prison. It's a big gym, but the space could be utilised better.

Compare to carseldine or my main gym, front staff in chermside doesnt really say hello?, how are you? Gym is decent size, some good ol favourite matrix bench press machines, good racks but gets full pretty quickly and should probably invest for more racks due to higher demands. 3 Stars for now the time being !

This GoodLife does need some minor maintenance like wash dirty walls, dirty windows, fix or change outdated machines, showers have grown mould and it's all seem very outdated. Also, what is going on with barefoot deadlifting? Very unhygienic. On a good side it's a very spacious gym 👍

Been a member of this club since 2017 out of convenience and my amazing trainer. Over the years the standard of equipment and maintenance has gone the gurgler big time. Three pieces of equipment have been out of order for 3 weeks. Weighted equipment sqeak and squeal like made, others can be a struggle to get them to move. There used to be bands that you could use for exercises but unless you ask for them, or know to ask for them you can't find or use them. I'm so disheartened nothing has changed for the better for at least 10 years. I still live in hope things will eventually change.

I wrote a less than favourable review about a month ago about the sanitary state of the gym, especially the shared shower area and sauna. However I visited today and it had significantly improved. Bins emptied, clean toilets and flooring, well done and thankyou. I hope this standard can be maintained consistently.

A really, really solid gym. Plenty of machines, plenty of free weights, and a magnificent relaxation zone with a sauna, steam room, and a cold room too! Everything you need, in other words. Oh, and there are some cardio machines but if you care about that, reassess your life choices. Also, and this is important: the sauna here at Goodlife Chermside is ALWAYS good and hot. Love it.

My father, my brother and I have been members for quite a while now, for around 10 years. The staff are very competent and professional. The facilities are very clean and orderly, with a great variety of equipment and space for group and individual exercise. It helps that it is located within the Westfield Chermside shopping centre for convenience and safety. The atmosphere and culture is inclusive and diverse. The class instructors are mature, friendly, knowledgeable and promote visible healthy living and lifestyle.

I love Chermside GoodLife Health Club. The variety of classes I love. Good times to suit during the day/night The regular instructors are amazing. Rose, Maria,(Yoga) Jason (Pump) Kylie Clair/Nordia, and Theresa (Balance) Vikki, and Kerry ( Pilates) Also Carseldine Theresa/ Carrie. The prices are fair for what's on offer. The manager is always there to listen. I'd recommend this club to anyone. I also attend Carseldine on weekend. Staff are friendly at both gyms. But the Aircon and sound system at Carseldine needs replaced.

I unfortunately did not have a good experience with Goodlife Chermside and don’t recommend joining this gym. After the multiple calls & emails to try to get my business, I signed up for the $49 deal for 2 PT sessions. No one contacted me, I had to call every week to try to chase someone up. The club itself needs an upgrade, old machines, lots of maintenance issues in the change rooms, including them needing additional cleaning. When I tried to cancel it took them so long that I was charged twice after the request had been given. I have since joined Fitness Cartel and have had a totally opposite experience and would highly recommend joining them instead.

One of the best Goodlife gyms I’ve been to. Very friendly staff, clean facilities and lots of space on gym floor. Weights typically always put away and no stuff left lying around. I use the child minding service and it is fantastic. Was so wonderful to feel so content leaving my children (2yrs and 6mo) in there. The carers are so good at their jobs and actually seem to love what they do! It is also a very spacious, clean, bright and fun space for the kids will all necessary facilities. Love this place!

Had a huge debacle here on Anzac Day. The club was displaying classes on the KuboFit app on Tuesday so I rang the club specifically to double check this. I was told the class I wanted was definitely running. I turned down a work shift and re arranged my whole day, I even caught a $35 uber just to get there. To my dismay there was no class. I was provided with the incorrect information. I wasted over an hour of my day and lost hundreds of dollars. I rang the club to speak with the manager to let him know what had happened. He was genuinely apologetic and immediately offered me compensation for my time and hassle. Awesome that he was available to chat fairly quickly and also that he handed the situation with fairness and respect. So glad I swapped from fitness first. Thanks guys!!

Sort of hard to leave this review as a longtime member of this gym but I think management needs to realise what it has in store in the future. I have been a member for this gym for about 5 years and as a regular it has a great environment and the personal trainers create a friendly environment even if you aren’t a client of theirs, they will always make an effort to say hi. Further to this, the people at the front desk, are usually always great and create a friendly workout environment which is great. What I cannot get past is the poor quality of equipment that is in the gym. Machines are always broken, cables are always snapped. There’s usually about 5 out of order machines in the assisted weights section, which for a busy gym like this is simply unacceptable. You would think with the amount of sales this gym clearly generates, they could actually afford to upgrade the equipment. It’s just disappointing because it tarnished the great environment that the PTs and service desk people create. I have had a talk with 4 or 5 other members who are convinced they will be moving to Worlds gym at Stafford when it opens, simply because the equipment here is not up to par. With gyms being opened like Fitness Cartel at Aspley, an existing gym at Anytime Stafford and the 3 Northside world gyms, I’m afraid that it will be positioned to lose a considerable market share. I would love you stay here but not at the cost of poor and unusable equipment.

I really like this gym but the bubblers have gross white floating things in them. Noticed it when I filled my bottle and the water taste funny.🤢

Difficult to access before centre opens and that's mainly due to zero information posted on the site about how and where. Gym is ok otherwise but this needs to be sorted for visiting members

I like this gym. I think its a good quality health fitness centre. I feel safe here. The female changing room is spacious with lots of lockers to leave my bag. And also there is the ladies only zone where sometimes i feel like doing my workout in that space. It is a big gym, so theres a lot of gym equipments to choose from so its great! And i like the group fitness classes. I can see that the PT's & fitness instructors are all professionals. Receptions are nice and helpful. Ive been to three other gym before and this one suited my personality. So hopefully this will be my last gym coz i dont want to keep changing place and have to adjust and get use to the place. Overall satisfied.

The best GoodLife I've been to so far. Steam, sauna and cool rooms are great. Massive space and a heap of equipment. Massive group fitness room, bike room and even a women's only section. Has such a massive variety of equipment and the staff are always friendly

I enjoy going to goodlife with most venues across Brisbane having all facilities available to member's especially steam room. Chermside is my local, the only negative I'll give is the showers needing a facelift and equipment being a bit inundated. Otherwise overall great gym 😁

Love this gym. Sauna access plus plenty of interesting old school bodybuilding equipment you wont find at mny other places (e.g. machine lat pullover and machine lateral delt raises)

Great gym with friendly staff. The entrance is a little tucked away, so if you've not been to Chermside you may struggle finding it

PT sessions with Christian are great. I'm new to gyms but enjoying it. Haven't noticed anything wrong with equipment like some other reviews. The equipment seems functional.

Super bias review but - you can still refer to it. I didn’t think I’d like a gym nested within a shopping ctr -but chermside proved me wrong. Plenty of parking areas ( shout out to the ‘purple ‘ parking area. | great equipment, lovely staff. Sauna, etc. can’t be mad really. I owe my peak masculine physique to good life carindale. (Kidding i started a few wks ago) but im enjoying!

I was there asking for membership options. The girl let me try the equipment for 15mins, and she spent half an hour trying to convince me to become a member. I said I need a flexible plan because I probably couldn’t come every week, and she asked me WHY? What stops me coming to the gym? It’s just so rude.
