I don't think you will be disappointed with a visit here as it is just a beautiful place. It was free parking when I first visited months ago which was great (although I'm updating this now as visited a few weeks back and the parking meters are up and running again couple of £ for a couple of hours) huge fields for dogs to run on - they loved it too! and just a short walk from the car park there is a lovely little cafe serving food and drinks with indoor and outdoor seating. There are toilets which are also not far from the cafe. The grounds are really beautiful, I managed to walk around most of it, following the path takes you into a more wooded area which is pretty and shaded in the sunny weather. You will also come across the castle which looks like something out of a fairytale. This is definitely one of my go to happy places. The coffee is also delicious! The only thing I regret is not trying a bacon bap 😋

‏Beautiful place to explore and enjoy next to very big play area for children. Some nice walk up to the castle. I really like the pathways beside the river! There is a nice cafe, good to have some snacks after a walk. Really recommend!!

Beautiful place to have a proper walk with your kids. There are several tracks so you'll easily find your way up. There are fantastic views from the top and kids will enjoy the journey. Castle only opens the third Sunday of each month. Bring water and snacks as there is no shops up there.

We really enjoyed riding our bicycles from Bristol to this castle. The area is beautiful! Great for walking, enjoying nature and picnicking.

Great place to come if you like a walk. It's very popular with dog walkers and people with young children. There is a public car park at the entrance which you have to pay for now. It used to be free 😞 There are public toilets and a cafe just as you come in from the car park. Just past that is a good children's play area. If you walk on you come to the manor house and can walk on past it following the path down hill following a long stream that flows along the left hand side. The old mill as at the bottom where the path goes back up again towards another entrance.

Brilliant place for everything really, some nice walks up to the castle or down the windy path to the river. Dog walking is endless fun, take my pooch up here and he always comes back tired. Car parking is open from early morning, the time changes due to what time of year it is. There is a cafe, toilets, huge park, gardens run by volunteers and a museum. Also don’t miss checking out Blaise Hamlet just down the road. Quaint little house

Very good conditioned castle. You can't go inside, but it was a nice walk up to the castle.

This was a lovely location to go and visit. The free parking was nice (although that is changing from November 2021) and there is a place to buy hot drinks and food from. The adventure playground looks amazing. We went to try and find the castle but it was hard because of the poor signage. I think Bristol council could use the money they raise from car parking to build a better path and put a few more signs up. All in all, it was a lovely day to spend a morning.

We usually come here for walks and dog walking. The nature is beautiful and peaceful. Sometimes we come to this park on Sundays for a picnic and to have dinner, tea or coffee. But one night with friends we were there until late night and we saw the moon coming out. A beautiful and relaxing scene.

Well, after 20 years I finally visited this fantastic local resource. There is a good car park and the obligatory cafe along with plenty of picnic benches. The museum was boarded up but there were plenty of well signposted paths. We chose to walk down to Tarn Lake and it was beautiful, with quite spectacular scenery and wide, well tended paths. The area seemed well used and you could easily spend the day there.

Lovely place for a walk and to see a castle for free. Has a great play area younger and older kids and huge field to play sports on, run around or just have a picnic. The parking is free and the car park was full as we left, so make sure you get there early.

It's always a nice place to have a walk with the dog with Forrest paths, large fields and play ground for kids. Oh and an ice cream truck, coffee/refreshments shop and public toilets including a disabled toilet and car park But is almost always full but caution around some parts of blaze if you don't have brilliant recall for your pets and children as there are some high cliffs and ridges with little protection from going over the edges

The Estate is beautiful at this time of year with the trees full of blossom and the grass lush and green. Due to Covid restrictions the Museum was not open today but it won't be long before it is open to visitors again. The cafe was open for takeaway only. The toddle play area has lots of lovely well maintained apparatus and a great sandpit with a pirate ship to climb and play on. A lovely family oriented place, great for nature lovers too. The paths wind away from the play areas.. There is an area for 7+ children with some great adventure equipment including two large climbing towers with slides and two zip wires.... The path winds its way away from the play areas past a large expanse of lawn toward a woodland area where a stream babbles gently along side. Even more beautiful in the Summer, but still stunning in the Spring.

All the dogs we saw loved it and mine were no exception. Great areas for a picnic, there are plenty of grounds as well as benches and tables outside the cafe, toilets are plenty and near the cafe in there own building. The playgrounds look good fun and thought of for children of all ages in separate gated areas . Such a lovely calm environment wherever on tge estate you walk to. 5*

Adore this place! Have such a wonderful time every visit. The park is good, lots to do for all ages, the cafe is great and the staff are lovely. The toilets are very smelly and dated but can't complain for free use really. The stream is lovely, car park clean and tidy and also free, just an all round wonderful place to visit. Bring a picnic and you can spend the entire day there on good weather!

We visited the Blaise folly in July. It’s a good place for children and adults alike. They provide a map of the whole estate. The climb to the top of the hill was most exhilarating. The panoramic view from atop the hill is satisfying.

3 different play areas for the kids, nice short walk up to the castle, lot's of green space. Nice cafe.

  • 5/5 Anne G. 2 years ago on Google
One of the most beautiful places in the area. I love being there. The park is absolutely beautiful and the woodland walk is definitely not to be missed. In the park there is a museum that's gorgeous. There's even a room where the children can play dress up. Getting back to the woods when you get to the top you are met by a castle that you can visit. I couldn't tell you what it's like there because I haven't been in it but going buy the woodland, museum and the park I'm sure that it's just as beautiful as the things I have seen

Outskirts of Bristol, great playground for the kids, huge, will play for hours, loads to climb, 2 zip lines, sand pits, refreshments and toilets onsite. (ice cream man is a bit pricey, thinks he's in West London) huge field, plenty of free parking, huge grounds to walk and explore, shops close by. My kids love it, often ask to go there to play.

  • 5/5 Rae 2 years ago on Google
My 2 boys ( 16 & 14 ) and my daughter ( 12 ) loves coming here and when we visited at the start of the summer holidays they asked if we could make it a weekly thing, we pretty much have so far 🤣 That is because they never get bored like they do at some parks, you have the woods to explore and the castle itself to find within them as well as caves and other hidey holes. You also have the 2 parks which are both a good size and it caters for toddlers all the way up to teens and even some adults lol. There is also a museum which is free to visit and of course the vast amount of green space to play games or have picnics etc ( there are also a good amount of built in tables with benches for people to use. My only quarrel was paying £12 for ice creams from the ice cream van, I had already promised the kids before I got hit with the eye watering price and this isn't the fault of blaise Castle itself who are very deserving of 5 ⭐'s

Nice walk throught the wood to see the castle, great park for the kids, massive field for all sorts. Along with a nice little cafe and the ice cream van is almost always there.

Blaise Castle is a great place to visit. The park is amazing, the museum is fantastic and full of fascinating artifacts, the castle is a really good visit to. It's usually open on the 3rd Sunday of every month between 2 and 4 (I think!). Lovely place to explore and never get bored of wondering around and finding new paths in the woods.

  • 3/5 Mental Mist r. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for the kids to burn off loads of energy, huge field and plenty of woodland if you fancy a scenic walk the only downfall is the toilets are absolutely vile no toilet paper and no sign of hygiene nobody has seemed to have cleaned these toilets in months mabe even years they are that nasty! I would make sure your kids go to the toilet way before you go there. If the toilets get sorted to a decent standard the review will change.

Had a lovely afternoon with my grandchildren, we looked around the house found hidden easter chicks and had a little easter egg as a reward all for free! The house has lots to look at and is interactive for children, my granddaughter loved the costumes. The playgrounds are great designed for Older and younger children and miles of grounds to explore and play in . The parking is reasonable, they have toilets, cafe a little expensive but coffee good, great for dogs. A place we go regularly as the kids love it.

  • 5/5 Gilly C. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely brilliant. Great walk through the wooded area to find some caves. Kids absolutely loved the play areas, we had kids from 4 to 15 and there was areas that kept all ages playing. Will definitely be back.

  • 3/5 Luke S. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome swing in kids park. Nice to look at and the view of valley, but kids might whinge as you can only go into the castle on less than 2% of the days during the year

  • 5/5 Dawn P. 1 year ago on Google
Loved this place since I was a child and now I enjoy visiting with my grandchildren. Beautiful walks, good parks for the kids, and very well looked after. Highly recommend you visit if you haven't been before, and go again if you have.... 🏛🏞😍

Beautiful place to walk around, really large space with plenty to do. I walked around the free museum, walked round the grounds including going up to Blaise Castle (which was a steep walk). There was also a cafe and playground on the estate. Fully recommend coming here

  • 4/5 Giuseppe O. 1 year ago on Google
The estate is beautiful. The wood feels wild and the large lawn is an excellent place to play games. Some streams of water complete the atmosphere. The castle, however is nothing exceptional.

  • 5/5 Canuk T. 1 year ago on Google
What a great park! Loved it! 😍 Huge play park for young and older children, toilets, café, and lots of walking trails. Paid parking. The museum and castle open 1 April so we didn't get to go in but hope to soon.

I've been here a number of times before, but today it was continuous rain, so our walk was shorter than normal. There is currently a film set in the grounds. Nice to get a hot coffee and a cake at the cafeteria in the grounds.

  • 5/5 Jayne M. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely grounds, and woods, cafe on site and toilets. Large play area. You have to pay to use car park. Museum open at certain times, you need to look it up on web site

  • 5/5 Avi C. 4 years ago on Google
This is one of the best places to bring your kids, have a picnic or walk your dog. Huge open space for everyone to run around, short forest walks by the river and big playground. There is plenty of parking and public toilets on site. Probably my favorite place to go on a sunny day in Bristol. Highly recommended!

  • 5/5 Christopher W. 1 year ago on Google
Blaise Castle Castle Estate is a great place to visit. It was lots of trails to walk or run. There is a large children's playground. There are toilets and the Park Cafe. The Castle Folly is interesting to visit and so is the water mill.

Lovely historic estate owned by Bristol City Council and open to the public. Probably about the same size as Durdham Downs, "the Downs" to most of us but arguably more interesting. Wide open spaces, and old underused grand house with stables and woodland walks by the stream. Ideal for the whole family and there are no cars, and no worries. Some might wish to put the great house to better use, as it does no one any good, just standing there.

The Blaise Castle Museum, and the two play park areas are still closed. Many people are still visiting the Blaise Castle Estate, taking exercise, and walking their dogs. Still a lovely place to be.

  • 5/5 Robin S. 3 years ago on Google
So many bits to explore! Take wellies for younger children, so they can play in Combe Dingle and trainers for the play area. You're guaranteed to tire them out here with interesting hilly paths to play in on the way up to the castle. Parking is free, there's a cafe to refuel in and plenty of places for picnicks.

  • 4/5 Elizabeth M. 3 years ago on Google

A minimalistic castle within an isolated area

  • 5/5 Przemysław P. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best (if not THE best) park in Bristol. A lot of place to sit and relax. A couple metres over there and you are in the forest. Additional a couple metres and you are standing in the slow river to enjoy the cold water during heatwave. A little bit, just a little bit further and you can climb! Great place to enjoy different experience during the same afternoon.
