My favourite restaurant in Tooting. They do the best Bao buns, but also offer really good service and a great atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious. The only weird thing is the aubergine is served cold. I’d prefer it hot, but it still tasted good!

I took my wife here and in her own words, the food reminded her of home. She is from Taiwan. The restaurant itself has a very nice and warm vibe! We will definitely be going introducing some of our family and friends to this lovely restaurant soon.

An amazing spot for lunch & dinner! Simple menus with around 5/6 side dishes, 5/6 options of bao and a good variety of drinks. We ordered way more than enough - 4 baos, 4 side dishes and a wrap with a drink each (we were so full that we didn’t have dinner later 😂😂). It came out as around £30 each, which is a very fair price. I would recommend to start with 2 bao and 1 side dish per person. The staff was very friendly. Will come back often!

Yay what a beautiful place, the atmosphere is so warm, welcoming and with hints of authenticity, a truly charming restaurant. The staff so friendly and attentive faultless service from beginning to end. The food you get to order using these lovely kinda takeaway menus where you check the boxes of what you want to order really unique. The food arrives as it’s ready and when it arrives OH MY GOODNESS everything was stunning, flavours in every dish was perfect. I honestly can’t remember the last time I was so surprised by how good every dish tasted. All very reasonably priced. This is a destination for a great meal. Cannot fault or recommend more highly.

I have been wanting to go to Daddy Bao for years and it did not disappoint. Their espresso martini was fantastic and a really good price. We had the fried chicken which was amazing, and the chicken dumplings where so nice too. I then had the pork belly and prawn katsu bao which had so many different textures and flavours. I would highly recommend this! Can’t wait to return.

What a lovely place! Small, cool restaurant in Tooting with Taiwanese food, with a super kind staff. The most important part though, the food was great! Portions are small so you need to order around 3 or 4 per person. Me and my partner tried the fried chicken waffle with pickled onion and cucumber... This was so tasty and good. Then we tried the different bao buns, beef brisket, fried chicken and prawn. The best ones were the beef brisket, they come with some slaw and they taste amazing. The chicken ones are also great, but a bit spicier (it comes with Wasabi mayo). My partner had the prawn one, which she said was very good. For dessert we had the sesame ice cream waffle with some orange marmalade on top... incredible!! In total we ordered: 3 beef brisket baos, 1 prawn bao, 2 fried chicken baos, 2 fried chicken waffles and one sesame ice cream waffle and we paid £52 in total with service included (no drinks). Really affordable and totally worth the money. What a nice place this turned out to be, we are not very close to Tooting but we'll definitely be coming back because this place ticks all the boxes.

Love the Taiwanese style food here. The food was delicious and there are some innovative fusion style dishes. Check the specials board for some standout dishes. Sharer portions are small and overpriced but cooked well. Recommend the fried chicken.

Excellent baos, friendly and efficient staff, and great range of sauces. Highlights for us were the beef brisket bao, sesame aubergine starter and the special (spicy orange wings). The non-alcoholic drinks were surprisingly enjoyable.

Love a restaurant that know what they are doing in & out! Had no plans to go but it was a sunny afternoon and the café opposite had a lengthy process of QR code scanning n ordering. Cut to we see this place and run across the street. Only customers so get greeted by a friendly Carina, who had the entire menu learnt to the T. She gave us a sheet with all the dishes and asked us to just tick whatever we liked. Good vegetarian options. Quick service and the Shiitake Mushroom Bao is a must!!! Trust me the softest and yummiest bao’s I have ever tasted. The Pao Pao drink was nice. And the Caesar salad was also delish! We paid 30£ for two people. 2 starters 2 Bao’s 2 drinks! Highly recommend!!!

Delicious! Been to a lot of over hyped Bao restaurants in London but this one does not disappoint! We had two Bao each and the chicken and it was all amazing! Will definitely be back

Me and my wife visited here on a spontaneous plan, no booking just walked in. Makes sense to book before hand as it is a small place. Customer service was greats, hosts explained the ordering process and special items with detail. Quality of the food was very high, Mushroom/Chicken and Prawn Bao Bun was super nice. Prawn Dumpling were very nice as well. Mocktail was good and in the warm weather went down a treat. We spent around £40 for both of us, slightly on the higher side but the overall experience was excellent.

BEST bao buns in London for sure! We tried absolutely every item on the menu (it was quite a lot of us). Shitake Mushrooms Bao was the top item for me. Great atmosphere and lovely staff! I like the fact that the place is quite small and it gives you a nice cosy feeling whils dining there. I would recommend booking a table in advance, especially weekends, as the slots are going away quickly. We're planning to go back there soon.

Best meal I’ve eaten in a long time. Every dish was full of flavour, no two dishes tasting the same. We shared 4 bao buns (prawn and tofu), cucumber and chips, soft drinks = £17 each. A true gem in Tooting. Cosy atmosphere, attention to detail was unlike anything I’ve seen in London.

I was really excited to try Daddy Bao as I heard it was a good food and a fun vibe. The restaurant is cosy and really beautifully decorated low ceilings and lanterns. It is definitely somewhere you should book beforehand. Fun way of ordering by writing down your own order. I went with the crispy calamari with ink squid mayo, pork belly bao, and prawn bao. The squid was good with the sweet sauce drizzled over it, but missing a good douse of pepper. The ink squid mayo was a bit bland. The pork belly bao is their classic, I found it to be too sweet and a bit dry throughout the middle. The prawn bao came with two king prawns, which seemed like not very good value as every bite should really have prawn in it. The bao wasn’t at light and fluffy as it could have been. The service was fantastic with it’s casual style and friendly faces. Didn’t completely turn me off, but do think an extra kick of flavour and value for money.

I took my parents out here for dinner on a Saturday. The atmosphere was quite lively and I would say to definitely make a reservation before booking as the place was packed when we went at around 19:00. The menu was short yet still had a variety of options. The beef brisket bao was tender and juicy and the fried squid had a zesty tang to it. It was paired with a delicious squid ink sauce and was definitely my favourite dish of the night. The pao pao (drink) was my sister’s favorite as it had a strong yet not overpowering taste of lychee. Overall, I wouldn’t say that this is authentic Taiwanese food (not that I expected it to be), but a more modernised version of it.

Wow this place does not disappoint with their food and service. I’ve tried numerous bao places and frankly most are overpriced for what they offer but not daddy bao. Additionally their service is the best and are always so friendly. My friend and I had the best time with their great cocktails.

We phoned for a table and were given a stool table by the front window. We told them we had a small well behaved dog to which they confirmed the booking. The service was very friendly quick and efficient. The food was very good and tasty.

The food and experience at Daddy Bao was amazing! For the atmosphere and taste of the food you would think it would cost a fortune but the dishes were reasonably price with each dish being under £6. I couldn’t recommend enough, the Duck Bao and the Aubergine starter were my favourite dishes.

Was waiting for my bus in Tooting and Daddy Bao was conveniently located right next to it so I decided to check it out. Love the menus and using a pencil to fill in what I wanted. I decided on the fried chicken with bean sauce, brisket bao, and chicken bao. Which for London we’re all reasonably priced. The chicken was deliciously seasoned, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The bean sauce was a nice smooth accompaniment to it. The brisket bao will definitely satisfy meat lovers and it was very well filled. The chicken bao was delicious too with coriander and a nice sauce that tied it together. For drinks I got a Paloma which was strong and delicious. Also got an apple cider which was delicious and I mixed the two together and I was extremely impressed with the flavour. I also have to shout out the 2 lovely staff members Carina and Sasha who sat me and took my order. They brought water without me needing to ask, offered to refill, checked in on me if there was anything I needed and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be coming again.

Loved the vibe of this place, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great too. The bao buns were crammed full of filling, we tried the pork belly, beef brisket and battered cod which was one of the specials. We complimented this with a portion of the fried chicken and some delicious strips of rare beef which was also one of the specials. Will definitely be coming back.

Fried chicken was decent. I loved the beef brisket bao but the chicken was on the dry side. The portions are kind of small especially the chips.
