Known locally as Petrov, the Catholic Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul has a Gothic architecture and Baroque interior. What’s fascinating is that the bells are rung at 11 o’clock instead of 12. Legend has it that in 1645, after months of continuous fighting, the Swedish forces had set themselves a limit to conquer Brno by noon on the 15th of August. Some clever locals and spies changed the course of the Thirty Years War by ringing the bells one hour before noon. In consequence, the Swedish army retreated.

During our visit to Brno, my wife and I also saw St. Paul's Cathedral, which stands on Peter's Hill and draws attention to itself with all its might. We were also happy to see it inside.

The cathedral dominates the view of the city. The gothic structure has some very old ‘original’ gothic features in the choir. The interior is well preserved and you can feel that it is an active church as well. It is surrounded with terraces and some give a nice view of the surroundings. You can visit the tower as well. Some interesting features are the marble pulpit and the Holy Virgin statue inside, and the rather rare stone pulpit outside.

Amazing historic building. I visited duringbthe 2022 edition of Noc Kostelů- Night of churches. Guided tours, concerts, and theater performances facilitates the occasion. Some portions of churches normally closed to the public were opened, for example, the organ loft, the sacristy, towers, crypts, and monastic gardens.

One of the biggest cathedrals we have ever seen. To enter the highest tower of it price is only 40 czk our 2 euros per person. View is amazing, all Brno is like on a picture. And view of corridor which you should pass to enter another viewpoint are interesting too. You can see roof from inside, dark chambers and automated bell, and if you lucky enough you will experience stun of its work while it’s striking hours.

A beautiful cathedral - more from the outside than the inside in my opinion, but still 100% worth the visit. The entry is free, you can then pay two euro to be able to climb to the tower. For a toilet you need to climb down the stairs outside and there's s free one.

Spectacular. Stained glass and large original oil paintings cover the walls.

This is a Roman Catholic cathedral located on Petrov Hill in the Brno. The current cathedral was built in the Gothic style in the 13th and 14th centuries, and was later modified in the Baroque style in the 18th century. This church is a popular tourist attraction.

Brno doesn’t have many tourist destinations but one of the most popular ones amongst them is the St. Peter and Paul cathedral. It is hard to miss when one is arriving at the city centre as it overlooks almost the entire city. It is easily accessible via tram and if you’re willing to take up an adventure, then hiking from Hlavni Nadrazi is also an option. It is very picturesque and isn’t overcrowded at all. Most importantly, it has free WC available in its premises.

Beautiful cathedral with a gothic style on the outside and a modern interior decor. If we happen to be here on Sunday, there is a choir preceded by the mass which is amazing, I highly recommend it!

Beautiful building and gorgeous views from the top of the bell tower. If you have the Brno pass, it's free to go up. Otherwise I don't think it costs that much. Definitely only accessible to folks who can climb lots of stairs. If you're (un)lucky, the bells will ring when you're at the top, right under them. Ouch! If you show up at the door to the stairs while a mass is happening in the chappel, just walk by... It's fine.

The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul is a historic landmark located in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It is one of the most important and recognizable buildings in the city, with a history dating back over eight centuries. Originally built in the 12th century as a Romanesque basilica, the cathedral has undergone several major renovations and additions over the centuries, including a significant Gothic overhaul in the 14th century and a Baroque renovation in the 18th century. Today, the cathedral is a beautiful blend of architectural styles, with a striking twin-towered façade that dominates the city skyline. Inside, the cathedral is equally impressive, with a soaring nave, a beautiful vaulted ceiling, and a number of stunning artworks and sculptures. Highlights of the interior include the Baroque high altar, which is adorned with a series of intricate reliefs depicting scenes from the lives of St. Peter and St. Paul, and the beautiful stained-glass windows that fill the space with colored light. The cathedral is also home to a number of important historical artifacts and treasures, including a collection of precious reliquaries, medieval manuscripts, and other religious objects. Overall, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of the Czech Republic, and is a powerful symbol of faith, community, and the enduring spirit of the people of Brno.

Architecture of the cathedral is really stunning. I only wonder about senseless parking near this (not only) cultural momument.

Good location for view. Cathedral look down from the hill. There are nothing to see at west-southern part unfortunately. At night it looks like lighthouse for Brno.

Cathedral of St. Peter is magnificent gothic architecture. The white, wooden organs are beautiful, which adds flavor to the church. The broad illustrations on your sides are glorious. The Cathedral of St. Peter is a have-to-see.

This cathedral has very beautiful style. I saw it during my holidays in Brno. Inside the cathedral there's a lot of ornaments to look at. The most interesting building in Brno Old Town.
