Smokies has the best brisket and slaw I have had in the Tulsa area. The fried okra, beans, and fries are all decent, but the slaw is my favorite. It has an ominous name, “Atomic Slaw.” Don’t be frightened. It is a delicious slaw recipe that is pleasantly spiked with hot peppers. It is the absolutely perfect layer of flavor to pile on top of a large stacked pile of brisket then cover with the top bun to make a mouthwatering sandwich. The tender brisket and the slaw complement each other. An impeccable BBQ sandwich. This is what to eat at Smokies. Even though I know what is the best, I like to test the menu. Today ribs; Atomic Slaw mandatory, add fried okra. The basket was full with four lean meaty ribs, enough fried okra for both me and my wife and a cup of slaw. The server delivered a small plate of essential BBQ condiments (peppers, pickles and onions) to accompany the meal. The ribs were meaty, tender and lean. For my taste, a little too much garlic in the rub, but good with a little sauce to tone down the garlic. Smokies has the Oklahoma standard BBQ sauce “Head Country” and “Ranger Creek.” I hate both. Too sweet. There were a couple of other sauces offered that I had not heard of. Ja-Ru and Sa-Mokin. The waiter said that they were made locally. I tried them both. Not bad. Eat Brisket and Atomic Slaw at Smokies! Came here after a Long Flight, and what a delight! We had heard this place had good reviews and so we had to check it out. I definitely recommend this place if you’re hungry!

OK, this place is amazingly awesome, and they put out some delicious BBQ for such a small place. If you go at lunch, it can be a little bit of a wait. Plenty of park out back of a gravel parking lot. They do have an outdoor sitting area, but it's closed for repairs and is very dated. It's a seat yourself joint that is always filled with smokes, as their name implies. Please checkout the daily and monthly specials. I ordered the fired mushrooms as the special appetizers and the baked potato with chopped brisket as their Wednesdays special. Holy smoke was the potato super delicious and filling. It's served as a loaded smashed potato. I could taste a hint of smoke in potato as well. They have multiple choices of BBQ sauces, even though the meat is perfectly smoked and seasoned. The sour cream was a perfect final topping. The service is fast, friendly, and continuous. My waitress was honest about the large portions, knowledgeable about the menu and always kept my sweet tea glass full. I even was offered a cup to go. If you've hungry and are looking for no kidding great BBQ, then this is a must on your foodie list. Lots of innovative items. 10/10

Food highlights: exceptional ribs (tender and meaty) delicate/tender fresh fried okra, lean and flavorful pulled pork). Those are our favorite selections, but we’ve tried everything and the rest is good, too. Meats are sliced very thin, which was unusual to our (native Texas) palates. Many different sauces on the table and all of them are excellent. Service: friendly, chatty, responsive, and fast. Ambience: cozy, comfortable, friendly seat-yourself (small) dining room. Clean. Cost: Meal for four adults — including appetizer, three teas, and four meals —plus tip cost us $106 in April 2023. Portions are generous, so we always leave with leftovers. We are fairly frugal, and consider this meal worth the price. We only found this place, just driving by one day. We ordered their huge “Fat Boy Platter” and split it so we could try all of their different meats. We were NOT disappointed. Outstanding! The ribs were so good that we ordered extras during that same meal. We’ve returned several times in a relatively short time span and will continue to come back as often as possible. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend loves this place! I’m vegetarian, so it’s not my typical place. The fried okra is pretty good. The potato salad okay, high priced for the little scoop. Southwest salad was good! They have a few different sauces to use at the tables. My boyfriend loved the smokestack sandwich.

Was great but out of St Louis style. Had the brisket loaded baked potato.
