Wow! I’m so glad I finally came here. Being a local I’m not one that comes to a restaurant like this, but I had a guest staying from Sydney that wanted to take me out to a quality restaurant in Broken hill and The Old Salt Bush Restaurant was mentioned. We both were pleasantly welcomed, with wonderful service. Entrees, mains and desert was superbly done ( Well Done to the Chef) and we came out with full bellies. It’s about time Broken hill has such a quality restaurant that I’ll be proud to bring my gusts too.

If you’re looking for the best dining experience Broken Hill has to offer book yourself in to The Old Salt Bush restaurant with chef Lee Chechin. Outstanding food. It was a beautiful birthday celebration.

My partner Mark and I had an amazing dining experience on our last night in Broken Hill at The Old Salt Bush Restaurant. Staff were wonderful and attentive. Chef Lee is such a lovely warm person who although running a busy restaurant took the time to speak personally with her guests. Can’t wait to visit again.

From the moment we walked in this was a happy team. Nathan looked after us with interest and a love of what he does for his customers. Chef Lee mingled with diners at the end of the night. Food was as described on the menu and the whole night a joy. Don’t miss it.

I will describe that place like Stephano's number 2 Mildura.. You must visit that restaurant old salt bush as you will experience something like you never had in your life! Mouth watering experience! The food was incredible! I would give Michelin 5 stars, which is the top rate in french gastronomy. When you see the chef, you understand! Thank you Nino

I've been meaning to write this review since eating here nearly 2 months ago!! Normally I wouldn't worry but this restaurant is so good it didn't seem right not to say so in a review. Lee the chef/owner is producing 1st class food worthy of any city and somehow managed at the same time to appear from the kitchen to provide a personal welcome. We had spent the past 2 weeks travelling on the outback and this is a total restaurant oasis. if you only eat in one restaurant in Broken Hill then this should be it.

Fine dining using uniquely Australian ingredients. Chef Lee Cecchin’s tasting entree was a delight and the novel flavours in our mains were mouth watering. Complete with an elegant setting, and this was a memorable part of our Broken Hill experience.

Myself & my crew were situated in Broken Hill for work and we hired The Old Satbush to cater our breakfasts & lunches and we have no complaints at all. Lee & Sam were extremely accommodating with a lot of dietary requirements to take into consideration. Food was outstanding every single day and there was always a huge variety for us to pick from and the menu changed every day so we got to eat a huge spread of food throughout our stay. When. working long days there is nothing better than great food and couldn't recommend these guys enough. The made our experience unforgettable & if I ever cross into Broken Hill in the future I know it'll be the number 1 on my list. <3

An amazing dining experience. The thoughtful menu catered for all. Chef Lee’s passion is evident with the sourcing of exceptional produce -the lamb and beef so tender a steak knife not required. Vegetables treated with respect. Sweets were delicious and there was a well considered wine list. The whole meal was so well balanced. Lee met all patrons during the evening. It’s important to book well beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Great little oasis in Broken Hill. Anne, the chef and owner, has done a great job in bringing a little culinary delight to outback NSW. Food was great, portions were reasonable, and the staff were fun and engaging. It's definitely worth the experience.

Hands down this was the best food we had in Broken Hill by far. There’s some good places to eat in town but after a few months in town trying them all this was by far the best and the only restaurant in town that’s even close to fine dining.

All I can say is, get on and book a table! From arrival to leaving good hospitality. Food bloody fantastic and we don't eat dessert and had the trio plate between us and was blown away. Good luck to all!

The food was sensational. Thankyou. Great attentive service and a post meal chat with the chef who wandered around meeting her customers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Old Saltbush in Broken Hill. Delicious food , in particular the smoked roo in the shared entree and the lamb. Fantastic service. I wish I was still hungry to try desserts, next time.

Fabulous. Everything I had hoped for and more. Loved all the dishes, especially the saltbush dusted lamb rump, the chips with salt bush flakes, the quandong brownie and the wattle seed date pudding. All tasted wonderful and cooked to perfection. Will certainly visit again next time I am in Broken Hill. Highly recommend to everyone. Thanks to Lee and staff for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

It's the upmarket place to dine in Broken Hill. Our pure- booked table had been given to another couple, but there was another table available. It definitely was an experience. Friendly staff. Good food. You need to go and experience.

Really tasty fine food, best restaurant in the Hill and highly recommended. All dishes were exceptional but the standout was the slow cooked lamb rump-sensational! Must do experience when you visit Broken Hill.
