Its OK, food was alright. It feels a bit like the meals were quickly re heated as im sure it is in most places of a similar price tag. Staff were fine and really quick to help us. Lovely place opposite for a walk after food but nothing to do with the peacock. Ive had much better food for less money.

Extremely disappointed, in having to justify having my ice cream which was supposed to come with my dessert.I wanted to take my dessert home as I had changed my mind to having a dessert. They'd already agreed I could be provided with this to take away but couldn't have the ice cream as it may melt...I live 5 minutes away. We have ice cream desserts delivered from much further away. There shouldn't have been a problem. But there was, which ruined our evening πŸ˜• I got the Ice cream eventually. Do not accept the reason given that it will melt. It was completely fine.

My mushroom Wellington was superb. My daughters meat was a little bit fatty & difficult to chew. Great starter to share. Nice desserts

I have a bad habit of ordering a burger pretty much wherever I go. Burgers are safe - they're probably not going to blow you away, but they're probably not going to disappoint you either. So the question becomes, when the food arrives, do I look at everyone else's plate and wish I had ordered something else? We had a big family meal at the Peacock Inn today, and as per usual I got the burger. And when everyone's food arrived I thought, "damn, I should have ordered something else." Everything looked so good. Dont get me wrong, the burger was nice, but the other dishes looked special. So I definitely plan on coming back, and Ill do so with the confidence to try another of the amazing options on the menu. The service was great. It was a tiny bit louder than expected inside, which made it feel more lively than I had expected.

Great location for a country walk around the Forhill area, including the Roman Road Iknield Street. - A bit steep in places. (cars get stuck on the icy hill in winter) There is plenty of parking available at the Pub. Great range of meals available with indoor and outdoor seating. It is also a dog friendly Pub, with water and doggie treats available.

Christmas meal Place is lovely, friendly staff. Most of the meal was beautiful, starters and 1 meal was really lovely, Mushroom and squid starters beautiful, the roast pork belly melted in your mouth but the sirlion roast beef dinner was not on par with the other main, after waiting over an hour for the main to come out the beef was wafer thin, no taste rather like you have for sandwich beef. After being out all day and we had not eaten, this was disappointing. However, staff dealt with our concern when raised. This has definitely not put us off eating her again as the rest of the food was cooked just perfectly.

Went there this evening, hadn’t booked but they made a table available very quickly. We were a party of 4 plus a child, 2 of the adults were vegetarians - and the food was amazing. The belly pork I ordered just melted in my mouth, my husbands steak cooked nicely and he said it was very nice but the two veggie meals a burger and a mushroom pie I am told we’re first were first class. Our little one had eaten earlier and she had ice cream. The service was excellent, our waitress was attentive and friendly nothing was too much trouble for her and she interacted in a nice way with our little one. We all come away feeling very satisfied and will definitely go back again asap. Thank you.

Excellent food and service. Only one niggle, the use of a premium lager (Peroni) for a half of lager shandy!! Should have been Carling or similar. Seems to me this choice was simply to jack up the price a little. Nevertheless, overall a pleasant visit.

Very nice pub. Good food (desserts especially), service and choice of beers. Outdoor benches to drink in the garden. Overall a good pub.

Looking for somewhere different to go we ended up here. It's a lovely location in the countryside and has a very rustic look about it. Although advertised outside as a Greene King Pub the menu appeared more sophisticated. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, the food good, cooked well and this place is well worth a visit. It is only marked down on atmosphere because on the day we were there there was a rather loud screaming child in the premises.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. First of all: very nice staff & place looked the part. But the fish & chips were pretty poor. Tasteless overcooked fish, 4 bits of scampi tasted of nowt, mushy peas stodgy, no butter for the crusty bread, no salt & vinegar, it was all a bit of a disaster. And charged me almost Β£21, with a large coke, for the pleasure. Last time at The Peacock for me, sorry.

Love this pub & go here for food every few months. I had a Sunday Roast (Adult Trio Roast) & my Son had a Child's Turkey Roast Dinner. Great value for money ... there was loads on both plates! Had a lovely waitress serving us too ... very helpful and very friendly ... my 8 year old Son even said how nice she was. Will definitely go again for Sunday Lunch.

The place is very nice, staff very attentive and the food was nice. The only thing I would say regarding the food is that it could just do with being served a little hotter. The food I had was nice but just warm and would have been perfect had it been just that bit warmer. There is a wide variety of food choices though and I have eaten here numerous times before and had good meals so my loss of one star is only due to the food not being quite as hot as previous visits. I also did not visit at a busy time as it was a weekday and during term time so the food did not lose heat because of the place being too busy.

We've had many wonderful times at Peacock Inn for many many years! We've always been greeted like old friends as soon as we have walked through the door... There is a new chef and I can honestly say the food was beautiful, this place is so loved, as are the staff who have come and gone , some have stayed with old place. Generations of families still come regularly because of the charm, comfort and feeling of belonging, being part of the history. The staff are always lovely and you really are looked after here! Thank you!!! Camilla and Colin xx

Food is amazing! Great food and great price. Food arrives quick. Myself and my partner have been here several times. And the waitress Danielle is so lovely and polite she’s served us every time we have been. Couldn’t get any better service as well as fantastic food. Be there again next week 😊😊

Lovely food and really nice atmosphere. Took my grandparents who are hard of hearing and the music was just right that we could hear it but it didn't stop them hearing us. The staff were really good. I ordered a pint of coke and it wasn't quite right (the syrup had just ran out). The staff straight away sorted it out and they got me a fresh glass. Not quibbles. Will definitely go back.

Arrived about 10.50. Greeted by a lovely young lady, Mia. She was so helpful and enthusiastic, a great asset to the pub. Had a delicious children's breakfast which was very tasty and more than adequate for our needs. A very clean and well maintained public house. What a difference a day makes. Returned with friends the next day about 5.30. Staff not welcoming. Ordered food, two separate orders for the same table. One order came quite quickly we had to chase the other order. In fact we had to eat our food or it would have gone cold. Food good but service awful and no real apology. In fact we were blamed for the mix up because "how were they to realize that the sharing board was for someone else. We should have told them when ordering'. Surely that was down to the bar staff to ask especially as we paid with two different credit cards.
