What a stunning and unique museum ! Over 30 rescued buildings that were at risk of demolition or decay, all rebuilt and preserved over a huge site near Bromsgrove. The volunteers are simply brilliant. They are all so passionate about the museum and will talk to you at length, and in depth about their specialty. Absolutely Fascinating 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A fascinating place to spend a half-day. There are a good number of rescued and reconstructed buildings drawn from around the midlands when they became “at risk”. The site is reasonably compact and easy to walk around but without feeling overcrowded. Several of the buildings are furnished or fitted out with artefacts of an appropriate age to give a sense of their working life. All exhibits have an information panel describing the buildings structure, its use and where possible a history of their past occupants. Volunteers were also to hand by some of the buildings to offer further information. The whole thing is set in a fairly level landscaped estate with decent paths in the main although one or two areas of older heritage paving were uneven. As well as the larger buildings the trust is also home to the national telephone kiosk collection. There is a good sized car park and there are toilet facilities and a tea room available for visitors. Admission charge at the time of my visit was comparable to that charged by English Heritage or the National Trust for their medium sized sites.

We paid a flying visit to the museum as we were looking for a venue for en event. What a beautiful place! So peaceful! Lovely old buildings nestled in with spectacular trees. Wonderful plants everywhere, and such a lovely energy. Fantastic panoramic views from the Windmill field. We will certainly be heading back there soon for a proper visit, and hopefully try out the little bedroom too! Friendly staff, highly recommended.

I spent a most enjoyable few hours at this museum It contains a variety of buildings that were moved to this site so that they are preserved for people to see. Apart from these buildings the museum also has the National Collection of telephone boxes which I found to be most interesting to look around Very helpful and friendly staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. It's a privately owned collection with no public money so it exists by people visiting and on donations. They have rescued many old buildings that would otherwise have been demolished and now have a great collection spanning a good but of local history. Not so many volunteers there on the day we visited, but still a great day out. Nice tea shop too.

A fascinating insight into social history, through various buildings covering the eras. Worth supporting, in order to preserve them. If for some reason you're also very interested in phone boxes (somebody will) then they have a little section for that.

I really enjoyed this museum, it really is great. There are 30 or so old houses relocated from around the country onto this site. It's nicely set out with lots of grass and easy to get around. It isn't commercialised and is nicely laid out. We were able to go into many, there are some wonderful curiosities, amazing. There is even an old telephone exchange. It's so nice walking around the site, only let down was the tearoom wasn't great, overpressured I'd guess. It's a must see place for all the history.

Wonderful place to visit. Some great historical buildings that have been saved. Historical reenactments on several times a year. Lovely 1940s weekend at Avoncroft this weekend, well worth a visit beautiful restored historic buildings cost £11 entry far better value & better laid out than blists hill which is extremely expensive. Brilliant family day out

Fabulous place full of interesting buildings saved from demolition and a nostalgic collection of phone boxes. Windmill is extra special. Interesting guide book worth buying. Nice little cafe.

Brilliant! Over 30 buildings saved from demolition, from a humble privy to a large commercial building. This weekend was the International Living History Festival with 30 exhibitors and over 20 stalls. Worth a visit anytime it is open. Free parking.

Great place to visit with a difference and not too expensive. Kids enjoyed exploring all the different buildings and using the phones in the phone boxes. And the train which cost 50p! Definitely recommend

Really interesting collection of historic buildings in a sympathetic setting. Was particularly inspired by the windmill but unfortunately missed the chance to see it in operation. A good hour and a half visiting the past and learning where some of the buildings came from and how they were restored.

Over the past three years or more, we've been frequenting Avoncroft Museum, primarily during their themed weekend events. The wealth of interest and charm it offers keeps drawing us back, and we make it a point to attend whenever they host these events.

My first visit in over thirty years and it didn't disappoint. A nice level site, plenty of toilets and seating. Excellent food in the Edwardian tea room. Fascinating exhibit of telephone kiosks. And the buildings, of course. All set in beautiful surroundings.

Visited with school in 82, a long overdue re visit. Well worth the entry fee, really enjoyed the themed weekend. The buildings and other curious collections. Who would have thought internet phone boxes. Only thing to mention, take a packed lunch, there is a tea room, plus a Mobile snack bar that really was out of place. Anyway, full day walking around, lots to see, excellent. Won't leave it so long till the next visit.

Excellent outdoor museum with plenty of old buildings to see and look around, one of which, the prefab post war house had a volunteer who talked us through the building. Overall a good opportunity to have a stroll and learn some history
