Waited 20 minutes for food, amongst a few other people, 1 person complaining that their fish sandwich had tater sauce when they asked for no tater sauce, he as well had to wait another 20 minutes after asking about it 2 times. The cashier was not very pleasant, the staff was slow and seemed they didn't know what they were doing, our food was also missing my sons chicken tenders, after telling them, they got some off a shelf, that were sitting there since before we even placed our order, I saw them sitting there when we walked in the door n thought maybe some of the staff was eating them, they where put the order tags and bags not a heat shelf or remotely close to one. I've gone to the one close to Southridge mall and they are great, was like night and day, will never return to this location ever again.

The Walmart of hot dog restaurants. Seen a bunch of people post about Portillo’s online. Saying how great it is. The staff acted like they hated their job. The place was dirty. The food was bland. Ordered the large dogs. Makes me wonder how small the regulars are. Tastes like Bar-S hot dogs. The chili cheese dog was messy. Not in the good way. Onion rings tasted like ones you get from the freezer section at Sam’s club.

Wanted something light on a Sunday night. A hot dog and an Italian Beef, split an order of fries, and two drinks.

This place has potential to be a phenomenal restaurant but falls short because of how it is run. I enjoyed the food but attention to detail and cleanliness should be prioritized. I will say there was one young man in glasses who was very friendly and seemed to be a hard worker. There were other employees I observed hiding in the bathroom and waiting for their shift to end. Judging by the cashier’s short demeanor, one can only assume that employee mórale must suffer. I do not plan on returning here, but I still hope management can turn this around. Good luck 🍀

We've been here a couple of times when we are in the area. Usually this is a 4+ star but on this day it was not. Ordered the new rodeo burger and large fry. The burger was good but not great and the fries were Luke warm at best and the box was only 3/4 full. Still will be back when we're in the area but need to work on serving hot fresh food.

A good representation of the Chicago icon. We enjoyed an Italian beef, Chicago dogs and a chocolate cake shake! Also the fries are pretty decent. One downside, an employee left the bathroom without walking his hands…thankfully he wasn’t anywhere close to our food. But it does make you wonder whether they take food safety seriously.

None of these in Denver... wish we did hot dogs are so good. They literally snap with every bite. Fries are okay... but the onion rings were tip top. Fast quick accurate service.

Ordered two sandwiches in the drive thru at 8:45 pm. Rounding the corner after we ordered, we noticed we were the third car. After 20 minutes at a stand still, we finally slid forward and no one was at the pay window, so we moved to the next window. We saw at least 5 employees standing around doing literally nothing, none of which came to the window to collect our money nor deliver food. We ended up leaving after two of the cars behind us left. Worst service I have EVER encountered and unfortunately it was my first and last trip to Portillo’s.

I'll admit, I didn't understand the hype when I first tried Portillo's the other day. I went back for round two, with some food modification suggestions from friends and I am a FAN. Getting the Italian beef dipped, with cheese and peppers was key. Hot dog was ordered loaded and I'm now in love with the cake shake and will likely gain 5lbs. just thinking about it. Awesome lunch!

Went to Portillo’s based on a recommendation. It was good! The staff was friendly and helpful. The cashier was in training which was fine. I ordered the sausage and Italian beef with peppers bowl with a Ceasars salad. It was really good. They also gave me a half roll with butter. We were sitting in the back room that closes at 9:00pm. The worker was definitely letting us know without saying “you need to leave”. He was wiping all the tables around us and stacking the chairs on the tables. He was sweet; however, it would have been nice if the worker communicated the closing to us. However, I would definitely return as the food is always good.

So this was my first time here. I have heard a lot about this place and everyone just rages about it. Truthfully, I don't understand the hype. Yes, the food was good, but it wasn't worth what I paid. The fries were extremely salty, and I was disappointed by the portion of beef I received for 11$. I am gluten-free and it's so hard to find decent food to eat. There were very few gluten-free items.. (salads are common place, but people who eat gluten-free get sick of eating salads ALL the time.. they make gluten-free bread and noodles now.. you know.) The service was awesome and the food was fast! I really enjoyed the gentleman who took our order.. He was funny, corky, and new the menu extremely well! My family and I went on a Friday night, as assumed.. it would be busy, but every ketchup container was empty, the lobby was a mess, and the table we sat at was kind of dirty.

Always fun! Always delicious! We love eating at Portillo’s! We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday…. we got there early and pulled some tables together and made room for 13 people. There was plenty of room. Ordering the food was easy. There is always a little wait for the food…. but it is worth it! Everything was DELICIOUS!!! I highly recommend Portillo’s!

I really just wish that Wisconsin could pull off a Portillo's! This one certainly came closer than others, but the feeling is NOT the same, from the lack of the number calling, the run down and worn out feeling, and the dryer slower food. It's a shadow of an expectation that was held, but it's still fine when it stands on its own. Good job to the team, but it's hardly Portillo's as it should be.

First time eating in the restaurant, I've had packages of Italian beef and chocolate cake shipped before, (which were serviceable), but dining in elevated the food and experience. Loved the atmosphere, the staff were great, the store was clean.

I recently visited Portillo's in Brookfield and I have to say, I was blown away by my experience. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the fun and lively atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff were all so friendly and full of energy, which made my dining experience even more enjoyable. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the beef sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the bread was soft and fresh. It was clear that the ingredients used were of high quality. I also wanted to try the chocolate cake shake, but unfortunately they were out of it at the time. However, the staff were quick to offer me a slice of cake on the house as an alternative. This place never disappoints. Kids had burgers, wife had a salad and I had the big beef and all were excellent. Onions were great as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Not very clean inside the resturant and the food was prepared with little care. No ask if Italian Beef was wanted dipped or dry. The sausage was charred. My chicken sandwich was bland. The Greenfield Portillo's is so much better! Tried the Brookfield Portillo's as Here Chicky Chicky was closed. ): Won't be back.

Loved the staff. They were in character. Found this place on a whim after following the large "EAT" sign. If you're a fan of 50s & 60s music & memorabilia, you will love this place. Burgers are huge. Prices are decent. The food was lukewarm unfortunately. It was pretty busy when we came in. Except for the make your own bar & oldies,it reminded me of Fuddruckers back in the day. I would recommend that management provide microphones so the poor staff doesn't have to yell. I don't think customers can hear their numbers & then food gets cold.

The food is fresh and delicious. Burger has that flame charred taste. Onion rings are battered up well and fried golden brown. The famous cake shake is DENSE! it's like a meal itself. Service is speedy and organized. Lunch rush has lines out into the side roads. They have staff outside taking orders. My order was 10 min late. Just make sure to order ahead and account for some wait time since they get suuuuuper busy. Not their fault.

This is my fourth time here. The chili cheese dog is great but every single I have had the friends. They are like warm. I’ve seen them have too many fries just sitting there under the heat lamp with slow business.

Ordered the beef and cheese croissant. It was so mushy and soggy. The beef had no flavor - was bland. Very unappetizing. Would not recommend.

Waited nearly 30 minutes for food. Beef and cheddar was completely soggy. Waited at the counter for about 3 minutes while countless employees passed me by so I could kindly ask for a new one. Both Hi-Cs were missing the syrup, so it tasted like water. No one replaced it while we were there, though we let the employees know, leaving mostly only caffeinated options (for the kids). Ordered a large onion rings to split, and there were maybe like 6-8 onion rings total in there? And food overall was just kind of bland. Loved the decor and music inside, though overall, it was just such a poor and disappointing (and long) experience.

Good experience. Service was fast and friendly, food was good, decor was a cool 50's theme. I don't know if I would purposely seek this place out but if I'm in the area it's a good place to go. For 2 full meals and a hot dog and regular burger for the kids it was around $45. Not cheap but what is anymore.

First time dining at Portillo's. Thought restaurant was decorated pretty cool. We were 4th in ordering line so not bad for 12:45 PM on Saturday. Took 15 min to order (1 reg beef sandwich, 1 combo bowl, 1 large fry, and 1 large soda). We waited 30 minutes for food. By then, inside ordering line was nearly to door. Food was hot but so-so. Wasn't anything special. Bowl of beef and sausage was blah looking, no peppers or onions nor were we asked to add. I know people rave about Portillo's but sadly I didn't have the same experience.

Everytime I come here it's just as good as the last, the Italian beef sandwich is great as always ( I recommend getting it dipped in gravy and with cheese sauce ) but you WILL need napkins and don't expect to eat it while keeping your hands clean and dry. The fries are always good and salty, the onion rings are okay but not as burning hot as I'd like. And the atmosphere here is just great.

We stopped because the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. It took a long time to actually get our food after we ordered so next time I would definitely order ahead. I ordered a Italian beef sandwich and it was delicious. My son ordered a chocolate cake shake to share, that was very sweet but it's was fun to try. I would recommend stopping by.

Very good Chicago dogs served here. I look forward to these every time I come to town. Classic Chicago dog is my go to and the fries are good too. They have a good system to get the food out fast and the restaurant is always clean. I revisited and was surprised when I finally got my hotdog unwrapped. The pickle was changed and it was horribly soggy. I ordered three and only ate half of one. Obviously, a supply issue forced them to use different pickles and it doesn’t taste the same . I wouldn’t order these again until the pickles return. Onion rings are good and crunchy.

This was my first time having Portillos and I give it two thumbs up. The all beef hotdog was delicious felt like I was in Chicago and the fries made me happy.

I love the chocolate cake they make there, fresh every day. I've only had a sandwich there ; it was okay. I heard they are noted for their Chicago style hot dogs. Next time I go, I will have one.

Took my 86 year old mom for lunch and she loved it! The decor was right up her alley and she loved her polish sausage with mustard and fried onions! The chili cheese dog was good, the dog ‘snapped’ which is a must with beef dogs!! The music is fun too!!!

I love cake shakes and hot dogs, and the service is absolutely amazing. Within five minutes of any customer leaving a table an employee is there to wipe down and clean it up for the next guest, in every half an hour so they sweep the floors, and mop them in high traffic areas, making sure it is completely spotless.

Great food. I always love the big beef sandwich when I want something super beefy. A good alternative is beef and sausage. My buddy had the hot dogs and had to go back for thirds. It's a little dark and gloomy inside but maybe that's how it's liked or was just a temporary thing. Service was pretty good with respectful workers and fast service. I ordered online and my meals have always been out on time.
