I ordered these bagels for a friend and I for a studying session this morning. When we ate them, we noticed that there was hardly any cream cheese on either of the bagels. The charge for cream cheese alone was $3.50, but there is definitely less than a tablespoon on it. The bagels tasted good, but they were difficult to bite into as if they were a bit stale. Once chewing, they were fine, but the original bites were difficult to take off the bagel itself. This place has great reviews and awesome photos on their page, so we were very excited and quickly and greatly disappointed.

Good food and service. My friends and coworkers love, love Zaftigs. I've been here six times and liked my experiences. I've never been here by myself and that's probably what I need to do to properly evaluate it because the food ordered in the past was influenced by the people with whom I was dining.

We went here for lunch and it was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the Reuben, the Monte Cristo, the Pastrami and Swiss, and the French Fries. There was about a ten minute wait when we went on a Saturday morning, but they kept tables moving through quickly. Once we were seated, the service was prompt and friendly.

Good food and nice vibe place. It was my first time and highly recommended by friend, definitely exceeded expectations. Expected longer wait time but we were lucky to get the table without wait :).

Great food and service! We went on a weekday at 11:30 so there was no line - we were seated immediately. Our dishes were prepared quickly and were delicious!

Huge menu + comfortable, cafe/diner type atmosphere makes this a great place for breakfast or lunch-- I got my brunch fix here. They have dinner too! Lots of dishes to eat lox with; I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict over potato pancakes.

This is a popular restaurant in Coolidge corner so I was very excited to try. However, I am disappointed by the food. Although I really appreciate the big servings, this is not gen z vibe or flavor that we love. Starting off, there was NO salt in all of the food we got. Unseasoned, and really just tasted the flavor of the ingredients. The plate looks not aesthetically pleasing. Food stacked on top of each other and no special color or plating. I think the chefs know how to cook food cuz it looks nice to the eye, but they just forgot to add salt or any herbs or seasoning 🧂!!!!

I had high expectations since I had heard so much about the place. They met some and missed some. We got the chicken soup but the chicken matzo ball was chewy and hard. The pastrami sandwich was dry, though the pickle plate was yummy. We got the berry french toast at the end which I highly recommend. The latte was delicious highly recommend the coffee here. There was a wait on Sunday for brunch but the line moved quickly.

I really appreciated hearing that their meats are nitrate and preservative free. I was able to enjoy a corned beef sandwich on gluten free bread. The homemade sauerkraut and pickles are great!

One of my favorite brunch places in Boston! First, we ordered the eggs Benedict with potato latke and avocado - it was delicious. Then we ordered the banana French toast - it had the perfect amount of sweetness, topped off with berries and maple syrup. Special mention about the service - the staff were really friendly and ensured we had a great meal! All in all, I would highly recommend going to Zaftigs!

Overall is ok. Just a regular brunch place. Don't order bagel with salmon. The bagel is hard and salmon tasted way too salty. There are meter parking behind the maruchi supermaket.

Have come twice now to Zaftigs for breakfast/brunch and had a good experience both times. Decent Benedicts, the veggie breakfast burrito is okay. Last time we both got Omelettes which hit the spot. In a Great area of Brookline, nice to sit outside and have a coffee, although the outside tables are not very comfortable. We’re interested in giving lunch a try here too as the menu looks great. Definitely give a try.

This place is a true delight! The food was awesome, so was the service. One might have to go early to get in line because it’s always packed on weekends.

Zaftigs is truly a laid-back and comforting diner! Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered the zaftig salad and the mixed pickle plate to share. They split the salad into two separate portions, which was part of the 5-star service experience! The salad was quite flavorful and the pickles were juicy and had that sour tang you would expect. The full sour pickles are very sour so I would be cautious about trying it out unless you are a big fan of sour delicacies.

We were in Boston for our anniversary and heard we should try Zaftigs. We rode the green line and hiked over. What a wonderful experience. The food was terrific. Service extremely good. Atmosphere perfect. Highly recommend the visit.

I had the challah French toast, it was great! The fruit plate is big, could easily be split by two or three people. Syrup was really Good too.

This is one of my favorite spots to go to when I’m in Boston. The restaurant is technically in a suburb of the city but you get my drift. The servers are always pleasant and I’ve never had a dish I didn’t enjoy. I usually get a sandwich of some sort. This go round I had the Monte Cristo because it was the weekend of thanksgiving and I didn’t eat much the day of. Of course it didn’t disappoint. The sandwich was huge and the fries are perrrrfecto. They’re Cajun/season fries. Mind you, you don’t get a lot BUT it’s fine because the sandwiches are heavy duty. Go visit if you’re ever in town. They serve breakfast as well. Prices are reasonable too. Check it out 😉

Wonderful deli with amazing food, staff, and great vibes. Sandwiches are loaded and delicious everytime. Matzo, knishes, latkes all tasty. Never disappoints and reasonable prices.

This breakfast place is so delicious! The loaded latkes and banana stuffed french toast was so yummy. I would come back snd get them again! The chicken matzo ball soup was also great! I dont recommend though the banana nut bread as it lacks banana. Everything else though was great and I highly recommend the other meals!

Very cute restaurant with nice decorations and atmosphere. Lots of culture formulated over the years. Went here for breakfast and the food was amazing. The French toast was especially good.

If you’re looking for a spot to cure your craving for freshly-sliced corned beef and pastrami sandwiches you must give Zaftigs Deli a try! I decided to give it a try the other night! They’re most famous for their ginormous sandwiches, but their menu doesn’t disappoint! The establishment does offer breakfast service and a solid breakfast menu. There, you’ll find breakfast burritos, French toast, pancakes, blintzes, omelettes, eggs Benedict, and Zaftigs breakfast sandwich. They also have unique offerings, like potato pancakes, corn beef hash and eggs, fried-egg BLTs, pastrami scrambles, lox and scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, smoked salmon and avocado toast, and so much more! They also offer a solid selection of sides to go with your breakfast, as well as a solid bakery/pastry selection! While I have yet to try their breakfast, I am confident in saying it will be incredible. Breakfast is served until close! This time, I decided to give their lunch/dinner menu a browse. They have a wide variety of soups, starters, sandwiches, salads, Latkes, Signature Entrees, burgers, patty melts, and a huge menu of Signature Sandwiches! For those with a sweet tooth, they have a solid bakery/sweets selection that is sure to please! I decided to order “The New Yorker Sandwich”. This sandwich includes 12-ounces of hot pastrami, corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing- all served on light rye with your choice of side. The side selection could certainly be improved! The fries were food-service grade, very poor quality fries to serve with a great sandwich. They should be offering hand-cut fries. The potato salad and coleslaw is also unfortunately very disappointing. The sandwich was MASSIVE. You can easily split a signature sandwich with another person, it’s PLENTY of food! Even with your side dish, they also include half-sour pickle, green tomatoes, & a full-sour pickle. The portions here are incredibly generous and the food is phenomenal! I do wish they offered sides of sauce as an available add-on. I’d also love to see the side dish options greatly improved. The quality of the sides is very poor and the selection is nearly non-existent. I look forward to eating here again! If you’re hungry and craving a piping hot reuben/corned beef- you have to give Zaftigs a try! You won’t be disappointed! Everything was delivered piping hot and packed with care. We both were full after splitting their sandwich and ordering an appetizer or two! The price is well worth the portion sizes offered here. If they could just improve the quality and selection of dessert and side-dish items, they’d earn that fifth star from me!

This is one of the best food spots I've been to in the Greater Boston area. I came here for a meeting off recommendation, and let me tell you, I'm glad. It's a must try. The entire vibe of Zaftigs is "old diner". The menu is large, but, unlike other eateries, this is not an affliction. I'm sure every item on it is delicious. I particularly got the Banana Stuffed French Toast and a Sesame Bagel with cream cheese. Both dishes were on the smaller side (by my standards), but well worth it for experience. For the French Toast, they brought over extra powdered sugar and syrup for me, and but I didn't need it. The toast had its own rich flavor, and the filling was super sweet. The bagel was hearty and the cream cheese was rich -- like any good deli. The service was warm and friendly, and I was asked many times by a kind lady with a coffee pot if I wanted to refill. Prices were decent too. The surrounding area is conducive for a day trip. There are bookstores, a library, and many other good places to explore around. There's also a really cool mural on the side of the building. I'd highly recommend visiting multple times to explore the entire menu; I certainly will be, coming back witih my friends.

Overall, the deli captured the essence of tradition, flavor, and community, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to savory cuisine. I left with a happy heart and a full belly, already counting down the days until I can return for another memorable meal. The knish's simplicity is its charm, yet it manages to pack a punch of flavor that always leaves me wanting more. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with the flavor from their sandwiches, complemented with a new dill pickle. The deli mustard is explosive with flavor. Make room for some matzo ball soup and bagel chips with your meal, it's good for you.

The quality and the quantity were really good! It was very busy on Sunday around noon, we waited 15 min and all the waiters were friendly and polite.
