This succulent garden which is part of Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens is a real treat not to be missed - I love variety and the challenge of getting great cactus shots. Nicely laid out, cactus from big to small with beautiful flowers if you are there at the right time. You can see more of my travel photography from the local area on my website just google Kent Johnson Photography.

Information available indicates that this Garden is on the site of Australia's first zoo. It's absolutely filled with succulent plants and cacti rockery of all shapes, sizes, tree forms or ground cover it's a marvellous spot to explore especially young children. It's well organised with species and its origins and history and beautifully terraced on raised beds to avoid accidental injuries. Perfect time is Spring as some come into flower which doesn't last long. Be prepared to wear protective clothing and plenty of suncream as this spot gets really hot. Nearby is the garden nursery where you can purchase plants and get advice especially on growing succulent at home. Absolutely worth visiting.

(Translated by Google) The flower garden has many benefits for humans. The beauty of green leaves proved beneficial for the eyes and freshness of the air because there are plants. However, it turns out even further, flower gardens are also believed to have a positive impact on mental person because it can relieve stress. Therefore, in many parts of the world are many beautiful flower garden built that can be enjoyed by local residents. Some of the popular flower gardens are lavender flower garden, rose garden, flower garden of tulips and others. In Australia, there is an unusual flower garden, Succulent Garden whose name is in the city of Sydney. In this garden grows hundreds of varieties of cactus and colorful succulents from different corners of the world, some of which are rare cactus species that are almost extinct. For those of you who are confused what is a succulent, succulent is a plant that has the character of absorbing and storing water on the main stem. Physically succulent has petal-like leaves, Meanwhile, the cactus replaces the leaf tissue in the form of a thorn. So all the cactus is a succulent plant. But not all succulents are cactus. The size of the plants are here is very diverse ranging from the smallest size to 5 meters tall. The park was built in 1936 also provides detailed information in each plant such as information about the name, family, and country of origin. No wonder this unique park is often visited by students or visitors who want to learn more about cactus and succulent. Being in this park really makes us feel on another planet because we are surrounded by strange plants that we rarely encounter in everyday life. For those of you who are curious about this Succulent Garden, just come to Mrs. Macquaries Road, Sydney, Australia. Visitors are not charged a penny to enter and enjoy the beauty of this unique park. Interesting collection of succulents. You can experience the feeling of being away from the city when visiting here. There isn't much shade if visiting on a hot day. Plenty shade in others areas of the garden though. The gardens can be a great place for contemplative thinking. So much else to do and see in the area ....

This compact section of the Botanic Gardens contains a wide range of succulents from around the world. It’s a credit to the gardeners that the specimens in it, that would be more used to an arid environment, thrive in Sydney’s sub-tropical climate. Generally quiet here as it’s walled off from the rest of the Gardens so a nice spot to reflect upon things.

This was my favourite garden out of all those inside the Botanical Garden. It is small, but it contains a lot of varieties, and they are nicely laid out. The garden is accessible to people who have a disability. There is good signage to the garden.

The succulent garden boasts a wide variety of species from across the world. If you are a fan of succulents you will love it. If you aren't... Well you might just become one. Located within the botanical gardens it is definitely worth the visit when you are there. Amenities close by. Restraunt and cafe within walking distance. Wheelchair/pram accessible.

We started coming here with our 18 months old son. He loves the playground area, the fountain. It's easy to get to. Lots of shade and benches to rest for parents if need to.

Great variety of succulents (as per expected). It doesn't feel like Sydney, it's a funny feeling. The whole botanic Garden is a must see and this litlle garden is just as incredible. Easier access if you got a map on you lol

Beautiful! The succulent garden boasts an amazing collection. Wish they had some echeverias and haworthias, but still worth a visit for the huge cacti, agave, aloe, euphorbia, cotyledon, etc.
