Excellent Roman restaurant right in the middle of Brooklyn. Roman food is my favorite of all Italian foods and it's also hard to find authentic Roman food in NYC - but apparently it's been down the street in Brooklyn the entire time. They have the holy Trinity of Roman pastas (cacio e pepe, amatriciana, and carbonara), a variety of pinsa (Roman pizza), and my personal favorite - carciofi giuda (Jewish styled fried artichokes) that I've never found close to correctly made outside of Rome. They also offer a variety of spritzes - I went with the limoncello spritz which was great and apparently the limoncello is made in house. We went here for an anniversary dinner and every dish we had was amazing. I had cacio e pepe which is my litmus test for the real deal or not - it was perfect. They even use tonnarelli pasta - it was better than many that I've had in Rome. My partner had the oxtail pappardelle and loved it. The wild mushroom pinsa was amazing. The selection of mushrooms was unreal - lobster mushrooms, oyster, and maybe chanterelles. Usually restaurants skimp on mushrooms and toss in lower tier shrooms like cremini, white button, and portobello - not at Camillo. For dessert we had tiramisu and pistachio olive oil cake - both were great. Also, the wine selection was good. The service was excellent and not rushed. The atmosphere was friendly and lively on a Sunday night. All in all - I have found my new favorite Italian restaurant for the 11 months out of the year when I'm not in Italy.

The restaurant looks clean , friendly staff , food is delicious. They use real tomato 🍅 sauce in some restaurants use tomato paste and makes the food taste bitter. I think this Italian restaurant is my favorite for now .

Laidback but warm and charming neighborhood spot, would also work great for a date night. There was only 1 waiter serving entire bar and restaurant including the outdoor guests which is nothing short of astonishing. Service was sort of slow and hard to come by but can’t hold it against the waiter there. Rosemary spritz was nice. Mushroom pizza was good but seemed kind of cold, crust was a little to hard/crispy for my taste but still good flavor. Also tried the tagliatelle with braised oxtail which tasted rather gamey at first, but when doctored up with red pepper flakes and cheese, tastes better. Would probably stick to carbonara or caccio e pepe next time, those look more popular.

This place reminds of a rustic old Italian place. I think definitely worth a visit and they do an amazing Aperol Spritz, one where they pipe the bubbly from tap, which is fun! We really enjoyed a number of the appetizers and the lasagna was fire. Would say that the meatballs were not that great. Might be a good idea to retire that dish! Service was also spectacular. Looking forward to coming back to here again during the fall.

Excellent Italian place! We loved the pate, carbonara, the goat with mashed potatoes, pizza and a selection of orange wine.

Authentic Italian! My friend and I ordered a pizza to share and our own pasta dishes. She ordered the gnocchi and I had the oxtail pappardelle dish. Cozy. Comfortable and nicely spaced tables to feel safe dining indoors.

The restaurant is very Beautiful. The atmosphere was great and the added brass decor was easy on the eyes. Honestly, looking at the menu I was a bit uncertain of the food. But it turned out to be good. The pasta was cooked very well and the pizza was baked very well. I would definitely visit this restaurant again in the future.

If I could summarize my dining experience at Camillo in one word, it would be: fan-friggin-tastic. We reserved a table online, and the process was a breeze. Even though we were a little early, they gladly welcomed us and made accommodations to seat us promptly. We started off with a wild mushroom pizza (Funghi), and that was a crowd pleaser. The salad (Insalata Mista), not so much. The main dishes were 'chef kiss'. Several people ordered the oxtail pasta (Coda alla Vaccinara), which they enjoyed once they realized it was a braised oxtail sauce rather than actual whole pieces of oxtail.I loved my order, the Abbacchio alla Romana. The goat was fall-off-the-bone delicious. I'm craving it as I write this. This is a can't-miss dish. I promise you. The service was friendly and engaging. Great value and an awesome dining experience with authentic Italian flavor and hospitality. I highly recommend this gem of a place, and I look forward to dining there again very soon.

I wanted to check out this place for a very long time and I wasn’t disappointed! We ordered olives, chicken liver pate and caprocciosa pizza. Food was great! My partner didn’t like his drink and our server was very helpful with suggesting something else. That definitely wasn’t my last visit in this restaurant!

We been going here for a few years now. Their Fughi pizza, oxtail pasta, meat lasagne with beef cheeks, sooooooo good. The bartender made me an amazing drink once not sure what it was called or what was in it but it was everything. My daughter gets the shirley temple with her funghi pizza or meat lasagna but its no regular shirley temple it is a very elevated version. Not those sickly red maraschino cherries. They add some delicious dark dark red cherries that add a completely different flavor profile to the drink. Save the best for last. The fried artichokes 😍😍😍😍😍😋😋😋😋😋😋 they are my favorite!!!!! I go there sometimes & just order that. I sit and enjoy or take home the lemony goodness & crispness of the leaves & the soft inside the heart. Sooooooooo goooooooood. Let's not forget the staff. They are great! It's been the same people here for quite some time. We also enjoy eating outside on summer nights.

My friend and I went right when they opened, 5pm. It was us and a father and daughter a few tables down. The staff were great. Didn’t rush us and would always pop by at the right time, you know when you aren’t mid bite or sip 😂. We started with the rosemary spritz since it sounded herby but bubbly. It was delicious! Perfect taste of rosemary and bubbles. We got the soup which was great, warm, not too hot, not too salty, great thickness to butternut squash soup and the roasted/toasted sunflowers were a great garnish. We dipped our bread in the EVOO and then in our soup. I got the oxtail pappardelle and the meat was so tender with a great amount of sauce so that every bite had a burst of flavor. Lastly my friend and I split the pistachio olive oil cake. It was soft, moist, lightly nutty, lightly sweet. A perfect balance and bite with a spoon of ice cream/gelato. The ambiance was chill, it can be a date spot or just a dinner with friends/colleagues spot. The music was also great, a lot of 90s/early 00s RnB… I caught myself singing or humming a lot but the music wasn’t loud, it was just a nice layer of enjoyment.

The highlight of this meal was the drink and the olive oil cake. The restaurant has a nice decor and my waiter was cool but the pizza was pretty subpar and the pasta was ok. BUT THE OLIVE OIL CAKE. big wow.

Camillo is a beautiful restaurant! As its sibling restaurant Locanda Vini e Olli, it has a delicious selection of negronis. The pinsa amatriciana was delicious, and along with the negroni just made the perfect experience. The dessert was fair, but could be better. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Intimate establishment, but service was polite, prompt and attentive. We were seated immediately because we had reservations. I had the PINSA. It was delicious 😋. Cooked appropriately....Not to crispy or to doughy. The sauce was tangy with a hint of sweetness. The cheese was high quality and didn't taste salty. And the meat was quite flavorful to top it off. Would definitely recommend giving this place a go. I for one will be returning. Thank you

On Christmas Eve, we arrived at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised to find it quite busy. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly atmosphere or a place for a romantic date night, this is the perfect spot for you. The staff at this establishment are not only friendly, but also extremely knowledgeable about the authentic Roman dishes featured on the menu. They are also well-versed in recommending the perfect wine pairings for each dish. For our meal, we decided to try the pizza pasta combo, starting with the indulgent Felino Pinsa. These pizzas are generously sized and can easily be shared between two people. The Cacio e Pepe dish lived up to our expectations, with its smooth and cheesy flavors. The Beef Lasagna was baked to perfection, with just the right amount of crunch on the cheese topping. One of the staff members recommended that we try the chilled Cabernet, which is served on tap. It turned out to be an excellent choice to accompany our dishes.

Went with a small group of coworkers. Everything we had was delicious. The artichoke appetizer was amazing! Save room for dessert too.

Had a lovely time at this cute little spot in a neighborhood that can often appear destitute for dinner spots. The pizzas are generous and easily split between two people and the prices are reasonable and everything is around $2-3 less on average then more north-western areas of BK. On par with the location of the restaurant! The spritzes are fun flavors and beer list focuses many local brews. Was happy to find this spot and looking forward to returning. As others have noted servers can be a bit slow/aloof but that is preferred while chatting and enjoying though can be a bit difficult when trying to pay. (Let us tip you! Haha!)

Really glad this place is walking distance from home. Our table ordered the Felino & Funghi pizzas, Gnocci alla Romana & Coda alla Vaccinara pastas, and the Tiramisu. Overall, everything was solid. I was impressed by the crust on the pizzas. I’ll definitely try out some other options next time. They make a good espresso martini too!

The food and drinks here are top notch. Highly recommend getting anything with mushrooms on the menu, it was so absolutely fresh. I got a non alcoholic negroni, which was so close to the real one. Would come back :)

Nice restaurant at the heart of Little Haiti. There is not a lot of restaurants in this immigrant community. Well priced. Good portions. Good staff. For Italian food, they make an effort to make their cuisine stand out from the rest. Would recommend to a neighborhood friend.

A nice spot with good food, but I think we went on a particularly busy / understaffed night. The waiter seemed a bit annoyed that we had asked if someone could come take our order after the entire table of 4 had been seated for 15 min without any interaction. The Napoletana Pinsa was my favorite; a bit lighter with nice acidity from the anchovies. The Cacio e Pepe pasta was also very tasty with the super large noodles that you need a knife and fork for.

The pizza is FANTASTIC! Most probably the best pizza in Brooklyn in my opinion. The pasta is also Great. We tried the amatriciana pizza, just left the restaurant and planning already my next visit to have this pizza again. Great place and close to a very nice jazz bar, great date night

We arrived without a reservation and weren't sure we would be seated but we did get a table after a few minutes. Ambiance is perfect for a relaxing, cozy dinner. Service was friendly. I just can't stop thinking about the eggplant appetizer. Omg!!! Also had the Cod. It was good but the portion was very small and a little lost in all the sauce. It tasted great, however. I definitely plan to return.

Such a wonderful neighborhood gem! I started (along with my husband) going to Camillo's during the pandemic, and met such wonderful people along the way. The menu is small and simple. Some of my favorites is the oxtail pasta and the lasagna. Also, a tasty pizzas--my personal fave is the felino. Shout out to the crew : Fernando, Felipe, and"nephew" !
