Super super super quality fish, shrimp and plants for aquatics. Some stunning set ups on display by o give you ideas. We went on a Sunday and it was super busy, yet staff were quick to help and very friendly. We came home with a healthy stock of fish for our tank. Tanks were absolutely crystal clear and spotless. Now we’ve found this place we won’t go anywhere else. And you can’t go and not see big bad Barry the huge fish. Great selection of tank decor, and foods.

A lovely place to view and buy fish. My daughter loves to walk around here every time we're in the garden centre. The "pish" are well cared for and the tanks are well maintained. The staff are always on hand if you have any questions about the fish or tanks. They also have a great selection of tanks and tank accessories/decorations that you can buy here too. I would highly recommend it.

The huge shop has fantastic products for your aquarium or pond. They have every aquarium product, from tanks, all variety of fish, food, substrates and many more. The staff are also very friendly and open to help with your request. It's a great place to go to if you are looking anything fish related.

I recently popped in for advise on what fish would be suitable for a tank that I recently got. A lovely member of staff, I think her name was Nat, was very patient with me and all my daft questions as this was my first time ever having a fish tank, and I sure did have a lot of questions, haha. 5* I will be recommending this place to everyone I know!

My son wanted a fish tank, didn’t know where to start, a kind young lad called Kieran gave us all the information needed to purchase and maintain the fish and tank, very impressed with the amount of advice and and feel confident that it could potentially survive longer than a week 😂 only came in for information and advice on what’s best to get, will absolutely be returning next week to get the full set up. Great experience, and thanks Kieran keep up the good work, my son is very excited for his new pet

Sorry I don't seem to recognise the +ve experiences of other people. I am looking for a couple of new fish for my pond. I note they have a large open tank of lovely fish, not for sale, I asked if they had fish I can by. "Out the back mate" no one came to ask if needed any help. Very unimpressive selection of fish. I walked past the 2 lads at the counter on my way out. No comment like "did you find what you were looking for?" Makes me very cross to hear the high street moan about their plight due to the internet. The ONLY thing you have is service and customer care. If you can't be bothered don't moan when the business folds.

Maidenhead Aquatics is a small part of Trowel Garden centre. They have a large selection of aquatic fish and accessories to keep the fish well and thriving. I used them recently to buy a pond pump and fixings for an outdoor pond, the staff helped me loads. Careful of the path/road leading to the centre it is pot holed, drive slowly

You can buy pellets to feed the koi pond if you get to the garden centre early enough. It's a great activity for children (and adults!)

An amazing range of fish, tanks and all sorts of accessories for your aquarium. There were plenty of staff available to help you with selecting correctly. I can't really comment about the prices, but they seemed reasonable to me.

We always come here to look around, this time we came unfortunately the big fish my son loves to see was no longer here.

Always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff available to help/answer queries. First time I've been since "Big Bad Barry" has gone to his new bigger and better home, must admit it was strange without him 😕 but still said hello to Graham anyway 😃😃

We bring our little one here to see the fish which he always enjoys. There's a huge variety. My only gripe is that some of the tanks are tiny.

  • 3/5 Jack M. 1 year ago on Google
Good selection of fish and products just hideously expensive compared to other retailers locally. Also questionable husbandry of their more permanent fish, there is a Ray in a tank with gravel substrate, should be sand.

Good open air garden center, food is a little pricey for a cafe, most food is stopped at 3pm on Saturdays which can be a tad inconvenient, but hey, emplpyees are people that have to get home and have lives so I can't complain. Wheelchair access is prevalent, nice place to go to for a short outing and a light lunch, that's if you don't mind the pricing.

Have been here many times, good selection, always busy. They have fish, shrimp, snails etc. Worth a trip if you wanna buy or just want to look.

Buy far the best fish store I've been to, I've been to many in the past and the fish have come back with illnesses and killed other fish of mine, maidenhead however helped me with any questions I had to ask and helped me with buying the perfect fish for the other fish I have, very down to earth and thought the price of the fish were a little expensive for what they are but I guess it's better to pay for what you get as the fish get well looked after and they follow strict rules to ensure the fish are good and healthy for sale 👍

Not bad prices. Not that forthcoming with info about the fish, though! I had to keep asking the young girl about things as she didn't tell us much and didn't give me much confidence we'd got everything.... fortunately, we did... apart from some little tank ornaments they hardly had any of anyway!

The best branch to visit! So glad Nat is back as she sold me my tank many years ago and has helped me so much over the years. Nice amount of fish and most times when I visit there’s something that I’ve never seen before!

We spent a good hour in here looking for fish tanks to replace our 120l for a smaller size. The whole team were very helpful, gave good practical advice on different system performances and when an issue arose with the tank when we got it home, they were happy to assist and resolve the situation. It turned out to not be a damaged tank but they were happy to help anyway!

One of the best places to get your fish from. The knowledge of the staff is exemplary, Today I was helped by kieran, he was very friendly and was more than happy to help and is definitely a asset to the team. Thank you

Have bought my pond plants and fish from here along with my filtration system... went in for a new UV bulb at the weekend and was served by Scott and Sam, both incredibly helpful as always... Sam even went the extra mile in physically showing me how to change the bulb. So pleased he did as I'm sure I would have struggled without his tutorial. Can't recommend these guys highly enough and all with the usual good natured smiles.

Barry is worth the trip, big ol' fish! No marine stock here but a large stock of freshwater with friendly, knowledgeable staff.

  • 5/5 Donna C. 1 year ago on Google
I always enjoy my trips here. I'm a huge aquatics fan running two 120L tanks and two smaller 80L tanks. I like different and unusual and that's what I get. The staff are lovely, professional and very knowledgeable and I like the fact I can have a good conversation with them as I value their advice.

The staff are always freindly and helpful, they have great knowledge of all aspects of fishkeeping and are all avid hobbyists themselves The stock is usually well kept and healthy, and you can tell they take care of their fish

Josh helped me 'select' my fish, 2 goldfish, 2 shubunkins and one sarasa. When I say helped I pointed out the fish I wanted amongst 100+ and Josh netted my exact fish without worrying the others 😁. I asked about fish food and Josh advised on the best and about the 2 for 1 offer, advising long shelf life. Busy store with big display of Koi at front of store which you can feed. Staff available, however not pushy trying to gain sales, you ask for help you get it 😉. They also test your tanks water pH levels etc, saw that whilst paying for items. Will be back in May to buy my waterlily. Thanks Maidenhead Aquatics!

The staff were able to direct me on a very unusual request for fish food that was appropriate for carnivorous plants. My sundew plant is now quite happily wrapping itself around some "colour enhancing flakes".

Good selection of fish but poor customer service. Customers seem to be an inconvenience here. Staff need extra training as they don't appear to be knowledgeable or they simply aren't willing to impart with it. Any responses to questions are monosyllabic or patronising. Not the warm fuzzy feeling you'd expect from a trip to a store. Ideal if your semi hermit, know what fish you after and want a quick purchase without the niceties.

  • 5/5 Animated S. 1 year ago on Google
Great advice, staff and products, well done. The even got me one male and two female so the fish can breed or stimulate a colour change.

Was just browsing around Trowell Garden centre and the aquatic centre is part of it. Lots of things and stuff to do with fish, ponds and maintenance of them. Staff were busy talking to other customers and they seemed very knowledgeable.

  • 3/5 Unknown P. 2 years ago on Google
    - Pros - The store has a huge range of high quality tanks along with having very good fish available along with having the option to have custom orders which judging from the displays will be amazing. - Cons - The staff seem a little distant about their work and doesn’t seem to enjoy it, the cost of the tanks and fish are very expensive and the cheapest tank available is £49.99 which is very small so if you don’t have the money it’s probably best just to look at all the nice fish.

  • 5/5 gary b. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly helpful staff that have good knowledge of the livestock and equipment offered, the tanks are always kept clean and contain healthy fish, one of the good ones.
