We had a lovely sort of lunch here! The menu is limited but very delicious! The cafe is above the shop and is fairly small but is run very effectively. There's an amazing range of hot chocolate, including some very dark ones! I had the 97%one! The waffles are delicious and a good size! The service was excellent and is very friendly. It's worth the wait if there's a queue.

You can’t visit Belgium without having some chocolate! My husband actually found this local shop and I’m glad he did. It’s way better than the overpriced, flashy Belgian chocolate chains. They have a huge variety of different chocolates and even cookies here. It’s a chocolate lovers dream. I don't love chocolate and even I was in awe. We bought some chocolates for ourselves to bring home and the prices are pretty reasonable. You can pick your own pieces, and it’s 10 chocolates for €15 and it comes in a cute little box with a bow. For gifts, we bought some of the pre-packaged chocolates because we couldn’t decide which pieces to pick and they came with a pretty nice variety. I just wish they labeled which chocolate was which. They also sell hot chocolate, which I’m sad we didn’t get to try since the chocolate was really good. Get your chocolate here if you visit Bruges!

The hype is worth it ! Amazing hot chocolate . They offer a huge mug of milk along with chocolates that you’ve to melt to make your own hot chocolate. I highly recommend to try their gingerbread as well! Very good :)

Mouth watering, thirst quenching, temperature regulating tasty cup of hot chocolate is all you need on a cold windy day. And if you get to experience making it yourself , now that's icing on the cake. My daughter simply loved her hot chocolate and the experience of dropping chocolate bomb into her hot cup of milk. I ordered for Latte while my husband had to order for water. Apparently everyone present on the table should order a drink, fair enough for a place that's quite famous and delivers what it promises.

Truly the best hot chocolate in the world, seriously. They should also say the best waffles in the world. They were so very delicious. Definitely a must-try when in Bruges.

This was on our wish list when we were planning to visit Belgium! We reached Brugge early morning and headed straight to the Old chocolate house for breakfast! The place is beautifully decorated, lovely character property! When it comes to food there are so many options to choose from, we of course ordered the famous hot chocolate, which was delicious and followed it with waffles and brownie! Lot of sugar rush for us, but it was worth it! Would recommend this to anyone planning to visit Brugge! Their ground floor has a variety of takeaway options where we bought some souvenir chocolates for our family as well and they loved it ! 😁

What an amazing hidden gem! I’ve tasted great hot & iced chocolate throughout Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp & Gent) but this was definitely the best I’ve had. The selection from the menu is amazing and both hot and iced chocolate taste incredible❤️ you are also able to add amount of chocolate to the cup to get the perfect ratio👌🏼 Highly recommend 🫶🏼

BEST HOT CHOCOLATE IN BRUGE ❤️ Must try their hot chocolate.. too Good and the portion is huge , one is goof for two. We also tried a banana and whipped cream waffle with caramel sauce which was nice. Packed some of their chocolate goodies hopefully we will like them too. Good price performance ratio.

Beautiful little shop. The tea room upstairs was lovely and the staff were very helpful when it came to picking what we wanted. There is a toilet downstairs for customers and the hot chocolate was absolutely amazing, the best I’ve ever tasted. A very pleasant experience overall and will hopefully be back

This is what it is like to be a gingerbread man. Relaxing on the weekend, people may decide to go to have a coffee at a chain-cafe. Gingerbread men go to a family-run hot chocolate shop and have the finest in Belgian chocolate given to them, with a glass of milk. How chocolatey the milk becomes is up to the gingerbread men. A truly cosy and warm moment worth catching if you can.

We came to the place from a friend's advice and it actually delivered. There was quite a queue at the front of the house, which took us something around 15/20 minutes to finally go in. The tea room (where you eat) is not big, but full of tables. Yet, since it's always full, it takes a while to get an available seat. You can order you chocolate based on its cocoa percentage (from the darker to the lighter). We also ordered one of the pre-defined waffles (the one with kinder bueno). The portions are big enough and the chocolate is actually served as hot milk, with the ingredients (chocolate pellets, whipped cream etc.) served separately so you can mix the way you want. The price was honest, given the place. The service was okay as well (only one of the waitresses seemed to be in a bad mood). There was a single toilet working, so the queue was a little bit annoying. If you have the time, I'd recommend it.

This was a great find! We saw lots of great reviews for this place and weren't disappointed! The chocolate shop downstairs has huge amounts of choice, you could spend so much time trying to choose. Upstairs is the cafe. We had incredible hot chocolates. It was fun melting the chocolate into the hot milk which made a super creamy taste drink. My husband had a huge hot choc with lots of toppings and it was great! Great service too.

Wonderful chocolate shop and cafe on the way into bruges centre from the station. The waffles were a bit different to the usual gauffres and absolutely delicious. The huge hot chocolate drinks are a speciality and well worth the visit alone. There is a lovely seating area upstairs above the shop. Great quality, good value and recommended.

Definitely the best hot chocolate in Belgium. You have a big bowl with hot milk and you mix your own hot chocolate how you want it. They have round about 48 different kinds of hot chocolate. You should definitely go and try it out.

A Really cool place where the concept is to order hot chocolate and get a glass/bowl of milk (non-dairy milk is also available) and chocolate that you choose and dissolve in the milk. It's delicious and unique, but also very heavy, especially if you order dark chocolate (which is the only vegan chocolate they have). Overall, pretty recommended.

If you are a fan of chocolate, this is your place! They have a huge variety of chocolates and the Tea Room on the first floor is beautiful and cosy. You have to visit it at least once (and if possible, more).

Great place to buy original Belgian chocolate, hot chocolate or pralines. Hot chocolate was high quality, thick and creamy, service was nice. Variety is huge

I heard about this place a lot especially for the hot chocolate. The rule that everyone on the table needs to have at least one order sounded a bit weird. It is a small cozy place for chocolate lovers. I tried dark chocolate and hazelnut hot chocolate. The presentation of the hot chocolate was impressive. But even after putting all the chocolate, it didn’t fully satisfy my chocolate cravings. I have had better hot chocolates. But still 4 stars for the overall experience.

Lovely quiet and warm cafe upstairs where you can order a huge big cup of hot chocolate with all sorts of amazing combinations. Also, the store downstairs sells an amazing selection of chocolates, which are among the best in Bruges (we bought chocolate from most stores)

Brilliant hot chocolate (you get a cup of the chocolate type you choose and then you need to mix it in to hot milk) and waffles, so many topping options. If you like your hot chocolate hot then ask your server to up the temp. Seriously rich and sweet so space out any visits!

Hot choccy was so yummy🤤You can adjust the amount of choc for your sugar tolerance, which was nice. I like less sweet, my bf prefers more, so we both satisfied 😋 waffle with strawberry was also good and fresh.

I've been no less than eight times to Brugge and since I found this place by casual during my first visit, it became one of my favourites in the city. Once again I'm here writing this comment and getting delighted with one of their incredible hot chocolates. Cheers to all the family and specially to Bram, who I didn't have the opportunity to meet with this time. Love from the Spanish guy who always returns to Brugge.

Beautiful old house with great service and tasty treats! We wanted to take EVERYTHING home with us. It was all so cute and tasty. Thank goodness there’s a shop attached. So worth the visit!

Visited this place twice whilst in Brugge, atmosphere and service were great! Food was amazing. We had the banana caramel waffle and a dark hot chocolate which was presented beautifully and tasted great. Would 100% recommend

Had a unique experience at this chocolate house. They serve you a big bowl of steamed milk and present you with your hot chocolate ingredients on the side. You can mix your hot chocolate to your own liking. The ambiance is cosy and small, with a dark wood interior and stained glass windows. The waiters were friendly and helpful and the menu was amasing. I never realised how many combinations of hot chocolate were possible. Anything from death by chocolate milkshakes to hot chocolate with ginger and chilli or cinnamon and chilli... This place is HIGHLY recommended. We paid about €5 for a huge hot chocolate (pictures attached).

So many different kinds of chocolate to choose from, but the cozy room upstairs gives the perfect atmosphere for some Belgium hot chocolate and waffles! We were helped by the staff to choose the best hot chocolate we’ve ever had!

this is honestly such a nice place! i went on a Saturday and there was room to sit outside which was great. the hot chocolate was amazing and it was fun to stir in the chocolate chips yourself. the shop itself is cute as well, and the employees are very nice and helpful

We were able to get a table right away which was nice, the waiting time to order and then to receive our drinks was on the long side. My "hot" chocolate was lukewarm at best and my partner's wasn't much warmer and mine needed more milk to balance the flavour better. The staff were pleasant enough but I honestly wouldn't rush back as it was also a bit pricey.

Waiting until I got to Brugges to have my first cup of hot chocolate and waffle was worth thanks to this place. For drinks I ordered praline hazelnut and my wife dark chocolate. We also had a butterscotch waffle. The prices for the drinks were ranging between 5-6 EUR. I was served with a big, big cup of hot milk and a bowl of chocolate based on my order. Drop the chocolate bowl and voila, you have your praline hazelnut milk. It was creamy and rich. I could really taste the hazelnut. One thing to note is that this was very very sweet, which may be a good choice for a kid. If you don't really like sweet drinks, you should go for the dark chocolate. This one was more balanced and easier to finish. The waffle was excellent. It was thin so the outside was crispy but inside still soft. I thought the butterscotch sauce would be super sweet but I was wrong. It was tasty and sweet. Service was good, the ambience was really nice. Would recommend.

Fantastic spot for great hot chocolate served very uniquely. Expect to wait in line of you want to sit in the team room upstairs. You can also get the hot coco to go but much better to sit. Quite a selection of different chocolates, flavors and added toppings. I had the hazelnut praline . They bring you steaming milk and you add the very decorative chocolate cup into the milk and stir . This is all for 6.5€. very warm and cozy upstairs plus chocolate shop on ground floor

Highly recommend visiting. There is a cute chocolate shop downstairs and small cafe area upstairs. We had the create your own hot chocolate and homemade brownie. The white chocolate was a bit sickly sweet but the milk chocolate was lovely.

Great little find. Large range of hot chocolate strengths and child portions as well. Waffles were great, A plain one with chocolate and a banana and chocolate with cream waffle, with mini bars of chocolate and some small biscuits. Worth a visit.

A beautiful place. Lovely cosy atmosphere and delicious hot chocolate. We were seated right next to a beautiful stained glass window with a view out over the street. My friend had the ruby hot chocolate and loved it. I had the vegan milk chocolate hot choc with soy milk and also loved it. There are many dark chocolate hot chocolates to choose from according to your tastes of cocoa percentage and origin. For vegan hot chocolate, you can choose any of the dark hot chocolates or the dairy free milk chocolate, and you can have it with either soy milk, coconut milk or almond milk. The best part is the experience itself: you are brought a massive mug of the milk of your choice with a small whisk and a cup full of chocolate drops of the requested chocolate. You drop the cup in (including the cup itself as it is made of chocolate!) and whisk it to perfection. It's a really fun novel experience. The ruby hot chocolate also came with a raspberry, a blueberry and a flower which was lovely. We also got a small complementary chocolate and a biscuit each with our hot chocolates. It was all round a magical experience! Do note that the hot chocolate to take away is not the same product (it comes from a machine I believe) and it is also not available vegan - you need to go to the tea room for all the delicious hot choccy options. Overall highly recommended, it was one of the best experiences of our weekend in Brugge. My only regret was not having time to return and try all the other hot chocolates available!

I know everywhere says the best hot chocolate in Bruges, but this really does have the best hot chocolate! So many different choices and the mugs are huge. Lovely quaint tea room upstairs with the chocolate shop downstairs. Staff were friendly and it's definitely worth the money

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the upstairs hot chocolate menu! We popped in to warm up and found an amazing menu with new flavors and combinations of hot chocolate. In addition, the menu has gingerbread and waffles, plus other delights. Everything was presented so beautifully! I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was super amazing for me. The eating room/space to the food was just exceptional!

Love the concept of stirring the chocolate into the cup! The presentation was something unique. However, the hot chocolates were way too sweet. As much as we wanted to, we couldn’t finish our cups. The Belgian waffle was great for sharing.
